Precinct Westgate in Lancaster

Its my mission to try as many diffrent fish and chips (and sausages rolls ) wherr eber i go .. just come back from wales and started my mission there . My mission has kinda stopped at this resturant because it is by far the best so far ..i had cod and chips and both still give me dreams

Two excellent meals from them: Haddock & chips and Mini Fish Deal. Very clean premises, friendly staff and no comeback from the food later on. Went there because tried Priory chippy in Ulverston recently and that was ecellent too.

First time order tonight and definitely won’t be the last. Beautifully cooked fish and chips along with gorgeous gravy. Best fish we have had in a long time. Thick flaky fish and crispy non greasy batter. Thank you too for speedy delivery -food arrived hot and well packaged. Look forward to our next meal from you.

The chippy I normally order from was closed and a friend recommended here. Delivery was on time, driver smiled and although the fish wasn't the biggest (especially for the price) I'll let them off because 1) inflation and 2) it was the best fish from a chippy I've had. Lemon wedge with it which added to the taste, batter was light but sturdy, chips were soft but not soggy and the pie ordered was spot on (good steak). I would definitely order again and recommend. A gem in Morecambe.

Watch out, There is a Westgate fish and chips in Thirst, however if you follow google links it sends you to Westgate fish and chips in Blackpool. There is no indication that this Westgate fish is in Blackpool ,not Thirsk. You order and pay but when you arrive to pick up your order from Thirsk they have no knowledge so you have to pay again. In the meanwhile Westgate fish and chips in Blackpool have pocketed your money They are well aware of this fault but do nothing about it.

Heard great things about westgate chippy, but very disappointed. Things missing from the order, chips were soggy and the burger was very chewy. Won’t be going back.

What can I say.... Just had a breaded fish for my lunch, and it was amazing. The fish is freshly cooked. The panko breadcrumbs are really tasty and crisy and the fish was fresh and melts in the mouth. Topped off with a pot of homemade tartar sauce. 😋 The place is spotless and the staff are lovely. There are other fish and chips shops more local to me but they are soo worth the extra drive. You will not be disappointed.. Defo give them a try!

I ordered from here cheese pie and chips. I could not get my knife or fork through the pastry as been in heated cupboard to long. Sent a complaint to this place but no response. Not a good service at all

Ordered this evening for delivery & when the order hadn't arrived (nearly 30 minutes late) I rang to see where it was.. Phone was constantly engaged.. As it was getting late & they were closing at 8pm I jumped in the car & drove down to the shop to see what was happening. I was met by the most rude response you could imagine "We've had 96 orders were very busy yours is out" was snapped back at me, then he slammed the hatch shut.. Charming!! Customer service at its finest.. I drove home & it hadn't arrived.. Finally arriving 50/55 minutes late.. As you can imagine by now it was rather cold, the onion rings cremated, so most went in the bin.. If they can't provide the service, why offer it in the first place?? Maybe a simple "I'm very sorry, we've been snowed under tonight & its on its way" would have been a better response??

Having tried this when it first opened its disappointing to say it’s not as good as it first was. I understand the pandemic and tikes are different. I always order by phone to pick up a specific time and each time I’ve had to wait twenty minutes. This is despite there been plenty staff inside who seem to be doing very little. So I’ve tried a different approach, turn up and order. Still the same having to wait ages despite others getting theirs extremely quick. I’d say these needs addressing as I’ve waited and had the same conversation outside with others. The food was lovely at the start but now the chips quite often taste uncooked as they are hard and are full of black bits. And the size of the fish in the mini portions is taking mini to the extreme. I’ve noticed replies to good reviews but I’d like to see a nice reply to a review that is only based on honesty.

As always top notch food from the best chippy in the area, simple ordering process means the food is always piping hot 👌

It’s proper fish n chips done right. From the service to the packaging and most importantly the food. Love a westgate chippy tea, wiz to the prom watch the Morecambe sunset, my perfect evening keep doing what your doing 😁

Large portions of food and nice and hot even after driving home. Although didn’t go inside looked clean. Method of receiving food was very covid friendly.

Amazing Gluten free fish and chips. The batter was absolutely gorgeous really crispy and decent size fish. Plenty of chips , we also had battered sausage and potato fritter everything was amazing. Roll on next month for gluten free Tues . Extremely hot and fresh . Very very tasty

Treated the family to what I thought was a lovely chippy meal ,ordered ex large fish what a joke as fish was on the small size not the exL they advertize , also kids chicken and chips meal only had 3 tiny bits of chicken in another let down ,dont know whats going on with the curry sauce rotten taste to it all in all very disapointing .will not be going again

I ordered and paid £9 for an "XL Cod". What I got was a skinny piece of fish that was mainly thick batter. The box had about 2 tablespoons of grease swimming at the bottom.In compariso, the piece of fish in my partner's fish'n' chips was larger and looked and tasted far better. To rub it in, fish'n'chips is the same price as the so called XL fish.Nearly a tenner for a manky piece of over-battered fish is ridiculous.One to avoid.

I ordered my food and got there at half seven having ordered it ten mins before. They gave the food I had reserved to someone else and had to then wait ten mins extra to get my food and when I did get it the chips were soggy and soft and hadn't been cooked properly as they rushed the order because the order that was ordered by me they gave to someone else.When I called up the guy accused me of turning up late which I didn't. I left my car and arrived precisely at half seven. Instead of apologising dude started to lie saying I came in late. Then started to swear at me. I called him a racist because I think this behaviour was motivated by my skin colour. He denies being racist because he is turkish. I think Turkey has lots of racist incidents including monkey noises at Black players in matches. Being Turkish doesn't exclude you from being a racist. I hope he cleans his mouth out and realises he is not Gordon Ramsay just a guy who fries fish and chips and even that he cannot do properly.I would strongly urge any people of colour to stay away from this place as you will get treated as second class citizens and he will speak to you like you are dirt and a slave. If there is a way to get his business shut down after his foul mouth then I will try do so. I have never had an experience this unpleasant at an eatery in my life and all that having driven half an hour for the meal and then to be told f this f that and you've got a bee in your bonnet. Atrocious.

Best chippy by a mile and no others come close. The food is never greasy and the fish is always top quality. I’ve been a customer here for years and not once had a bad meal. This and Packet bridge are the same company but both are just as good as each other

Large cod chips mushy peas curry sauce All ordered on line very smooth pick up and food was out of this world. Highly recommend

Takeaway, order easily online and choose pick up time. Was ready to pick up at time picked when ordered. Lovely fish and chips but mushy peas especially good. Would definitely use again.

At first, due to their Covid-19 policy, I wasn't sure whether they were open, as the door was locked, but the lights were on and there were people inside. Luckily a lovely lady saw me and I ordered 2 portions of Fish & Chips. It took a while, but was worth every minute.We drove to the promenade, and we both agreed that the meals were simply superb. The fish and batter were just perfect. We both appreciated the wedge of lemon too. We'll definitely be back. Thank you :)

I ordered this tonight through Lancaster eats. The menu is quite good as has fish , chips , sausages , pies , potato fritters , deep fried spam , fish cakes , scampi, burgers and more. It is £6 min order. Food arrived on time which was good and packaged well. I ordered a small fish and chips with a pot of curry £5 so a bargain and my husband ordered deep fried spam with chips and cheese. When ordering you get the option for your salt and vinegar and extras. My fish was battered beautifully and beautifully cooked. The chips were very nice. The curry was fruity like it should be from a fish and chips shop. Fresh and good quality, the pies are amazing, first visit but won’t be the last, clean, reasonably priced food, the gravy is amazing can’t wait to try other items off the extensive menu 👍

Excellent, safe and efficient service. Click and collect service, food past through a drawer in the door. Same fantastic fish and chips as served at the Packet Bridge in Bolton-le-sands. Well cooked, super fresh fish, crispy batter, tasty chips, not too greasy.

Not only was the shop spotless but the staff polite and friendly. Food cooked freshly and still warm by time I got home. Fish, chips, halloumi bites and curry sauce were delicious

Went on a lunch break with friends from work, we all got chips with sausage and various sauces. I noticed they did halloumi too which I couldnt resist buying. The food was delicious & tasted fresh. Definitely will be returning and recommending:)

I am new to the area and visited last thursday.We ordered fish and chips with a side of mushy peas.The fish was the best I've tasted in a long while,lovely crispy batter and the chips were cooked to perfection.The place was immaculate and the service very friendly.

Have visited this chippy several times, as a family of 4 or also for work so catering for approx 12 people. We have never been disappointed, the quality of the food is the best I’ve tasted from a chip shop. We had battered pigs in blankets at Christmas time and they were fantastic, the normal battered sausages are also amazing, as are the fish goujons. The curry sauce they do is also the best I have ever tasted. The staff members are also very polite and friendly, I would not hesitate to recommend this takeaway and we always look forward to visiting.

We visited on a Friday night and there was a queue nearly out of the door, which was a good sign. We order fish, steak & kidney pudding, sausage, chips & curry sauce to share. Everything is cooked to order so we did have to wait about 10 minutes but it wasn't long to wait. Served by a friendly staff, looked spotless and good menu choice.The fish had a lovely light batter and came with a lemon wedge, which was a nice touch & saved me cutting my own, the pudding was tasty, chips were not greasy, it was absolutely delicious, excellent quality food and was the best chippy tea we've had in years. All the trays and bag are recyclable. The opening time are so much better than the previous shop and we will definitely be visiting again.

On holiday, so on the last night decided to treat ourselves. Excellent service, excellent food. Can't complain xx

I went in among the caous waited ages to be served as they were talking to the regulars I presume and on the board it had homemade fishcakes so I thought id try one with chips ,paid my money went to sit down to eat it only to find it wasn't homemade at all it was a cheap frozen flat fishcake and it tasted absolutely vile I couldn't eat it chips smelt of grease ,I wont be back not good

Un poco como la mayoría de peces y chip tiendas, realmente es un inconsistente con los productos recibidos.

Really friendly plaice (haha), owner has a laugh with the kids when they come in. Freshly cooked stuff and plentiful portions. They do a really good kids box too.

Excellent fish and chips large portions great value will certainly be going again and next time we will sit in and try the home made meat and potato pie

El jueves fuimos Boundary Mill y fuimos al fish and chips" allí. Es alrededor de 12 meses desde la última vez que fuimos, y fue genial. Llevamos a algunos amigos y les dije lo maravilloso que era. Nos decepcionó ... horrible ... no como solía ser. He hecho una crítica en, y dijo: mi compañero " ¿por qué no hacer una reseña de la demarcación "fish and chips" que está al lado de la carretera.
