There aren't as many vegan options as one might expect, but for vegetarians is good

Decent place with a pretty relaxing atmosphere & food arrived quickly. Was served by a really nice guy can’t remember his name but he was pretty tall and had a french accent, think he was from Belgium, was such a nice guy

very small portions, 13£ for 10 raviolis has to be a joke, 15£ for 3 slices of aubergine IS a joke, waited 20min for drinks and another 20min for food, not good value for the price. we paid 63£ for this amount of food with a single cocktail. servers looked like they were doing their best but obviously understaffed. not a vibe.

Tiny portions and terrible service. They lost our booking. We ordered 3 mains, 2 came and those people had finished before the 3rd arrived. We had to ask where it was. They'd clearly forgotten because it turned up more than 10 minutes after we'd reminded them. Waiter didn't bring cutlery for the 3rd person so having been made to wait for their food they then had to get.his attention again to get some cutelry. And the portions are tiny (we all chose the ravioli). We left hungry and annoyed. It's a shame because the quality of the food is great and the atmosphere is nice. This was 6pm on a Wednesday so not exactly a busy time. It was maybe a little over half full.

Lovely vegetarian Italian restaurant, perfect for a pre-gig meal. Excellent and really friendly service...just needs better beers!!

Slow service, lunch arrived late, salad was found in small pool of liquid in the bowl and clearly was left standing for a while. Ordered coffee and that took 30mins. Service and food quality needs attention.

This place used to have amazing food and atmosphere; always being busy as a result of their creative plant-based dishes. Now it has changed hands and stopped being a vegan restuatant, it's just basic lettuce & carrot salad, pizza or pasta for vegan options - you get better [and more] vegan options at most other restuarants. The place is dead now. Power Plant is sadly misses

Lazy, indifferent service, sub-average food (served in too small portions) and a sense of being too cool to bother to actually try.

Great food and very nice atmosphere . This is a restaurant that I wanted to try for a little while and I m not disappointed.

Love the vibes here. It's easy to hang out for a chat, have something to eat, take in the live music or get some work done.

Only went for a drink but what a disorganised mess! We turned up and 3 of the staff were trying to work something out on the POS system right in front of us. Ignored us completely until I got fed up and asked if we could actually order something. Before I talk about timings, the place was not mega busy. I’d be more understanding if it was. All we wanted was Earl Grey and breakfast teas. The person taking my order looked like he’s never heard of Earl Grey and, unsurprisingly, we got 2 breakfast teas! I didn’t even bother trying to get another one as it took close to 10 minutes just to bring these to us and I don’t have a whole evening to be waiting for a pot of tea. On top of that, no milk, so had to ask for it separately. Now trying to pay! Standing at the bar for 10 minutes trying to do that as no one bothered to come to the table. Then one of the staff starts pointing at our table, saying that we left without paying the bill until I pointed out to him that that’s exactly what I’m trying to do and not very successfully! Such a poorly run operation, just looking behind the bar tells you everything - absolute chaos, dishcloths and dirty glasses everywhere, I’ve not seen anything that disorganised in a while! Jon Taffer would have had a field day! The only reason I’m giving this two stars is due to one of the staff who seemed to have a clue about what was going on and was very apologetic. Never coming back again!

They served me arancini which was frozen inside. The guy came back ten minutes later to confirm that the food was indeed frozen (it felt a bit strange that he came back to tell me). Throughout the whole interaction, the guy just did not care at all. He vaguely asked if I wanted anything else and recommended I didn't order the same thing again because it would take too long, then went off to do other things. Then I had to go up and ask him for a refund, but he didn't give back the 12.5% service charge. I asked for it back and he refused and said it was included with the meal. Obviously, it didn't amount to much, but it hurt a bit to leave hungry and having paid for the service of a guy who didn't care.

A really nice atmosphere and customer service, but we went to get some vegan baked goods and got told it’s not longer only vegan and they’ve changed their menu back to veggie. Quite disappointing as it’s advertised on Google as a vegan restaurant and we made a trip there especially, so might be worth updating on Google!

Name is misleading. The place is not fully vegan anymore. We went there for breakfast and there were only 2 vegan options: granola and avo toast. A bit of a let down, wouldn’t recommend.

We had a booking at 6:15pm as we were going to a show. Although there were drinkers outside, we were the only people seated inside. Nothing on the menu related to the pictures we had seen on the website. No tacos or fries or lovely looking salads. We ordered a pasta dish, a truffle and wild mushroom pizetta and a fennel and carrot salad. Food came to the table and was plonked down with not a word. The salad was dreadful. Limp and tasteless with no discernible dressing. A garlic bread (which we didn't order) arrived which we ate out of hunger and as we were in a rush. The truffle and wild mushroom pizetta never arrived. We complained and said we would only pay for the pesto pasta, which was ok but something I could probably make better at home. After a 10 minute discussion they finally realised they had made a mistake and did apologise profusely and we left. I do know times are tough for restaurants but really! This meal was terrible. I would have emailed my complaint to the management but there is no email on the website so have resorted to posting here.

On our walks round London we stumbled across this fairly hidden gem for a coffee (they do food too). Just up from the Roundhouse. Good coffee, pleasant staff and beautiful live music... wish it was on my doorstep.

Lovely place and very delicious vegan food. Loved the Bananabread and the Couscoussalad.

Nice atmosphere but wow service was so bad. Insanely slow, waiting staff didn't seem bothered. Felt sorry for the guys at the bar as they were just making drinks full pelt, whilst also trying to deal with people ordering and paying when the 2 servers were just kinda chilling out and chatting with random people. Went on a Tuesday and it felt like it couldn't decide if it was a bar or restaurant so rating it more for the food / restaurant side of things. Food was fine. Burger a bit on the burnt side but passable. Too pricey to justify it though. Clearly might be a great place some of the time, would like to check out the open mic and the downstairs space, but if you just want food probably swerve this, especially if you don't have an hour to hang round waiting for it.

Went in at lunch time - it was dark and grubby inside and no one came to seat us. We awkwardly found a table (place was pretty much dead apart from a couple of tables on laptops) and were told no - laptops only. So moved to another table and got ourselves a menu. Realised they barely serve any of the menu at lunch and after waiting for ten minutes to get our order taken, we decided the limited lunch menu wasn’t worth waiting for and we left. Wouldn’t try again. The two staff avoided eye contact the entire time apart from telling us we couldn’t sit at a table. Place feels dirty.

Went here before and was amazing. Came back and they had cut the menu down as apparently they are changing to go vegetarian. Won't be coming again if they do vegetarian.

Un restaurante vegano con una amplia carta que sorprende por la buena factura de sus platos. Quizá tardan un poco en servir la comida pero si pones el chip de "slow food" es muy agradable. Además el día que estuvimos había un grupo de jazz con vocalista que amenizaba la comida. Además vale para el brunch y el desayuno.

I would not recommend this restaurant! I only wanted a meat dish to be told they didn't sell meat?! This is discrimination against me and my meat eating family! Absolutely appalling!!

The food was very good and came quickly. Service all good too. We both really enjoyed every dish we ordered.

Could this be one of the top entirely vegan restaurants in London based solely on taste alone?! In summary: yes! Surreptitiously exposed on a block corner facing a main road to Camden Town, Power Plant is a surprising eatery. It's a classic mix of bar and restaurant, with a little more emphasis on the former than the latter. You'll have the choice of eating al fresco in front of the aforementioned main road, or within the dive bar-like dark ambience of the interior which is punctuated by the occasional plant suited to the establishment's name. As noted with other reviewers it's difficult to know what to do when you arrive: there's no obvious 'please wait here to be seated' signage, and if you're really unlucky the few staff that are available will be busy serving existing customers. But be patient if you can because as already hinted, the food makes up for the shortcoming in experience. Sitting at the table, everything seemed clean. If you're visually sensitive, in the late afternoon and early evening of the summer, sunlight can shine very brightly through the west-facing windows. Without any blinds to block these, choosing where to sit becomes a strategic affair. Nevertheless, when you manage to get the friendly and apologetic waiter's rare attention, you can order. We chose a hummus dish with various sauces and bread to kick off our meal (a fantastic opener with a wide variety of taste experiences), followed by the Jerusalem mixed grill and skinny fries (the mince will blow you away if you're a (former) meat eater). All very well cooked and tantalising on the tastebuds! The savoury dishes were so good in fact, we wanted to see if dessert held up to the same standard - currently this is very limited to a single option: a filo pie with fruit, but it's a very worthy and unique dish that meets the exceptional standard found earlier - not overly sweet but very satisfying with a range of textures. What soon becomes clear is that Power Plant has a really talented chef - he even came out of the kitchen to gauge our opinion of the food - always a good sign of a chef that cares. We returned our opinions with big smiles. Overall, a fantastic food experience despite the minor hiccups with the earlier part of the customer journey. I'll be sure to return to try their brunch. Nevertheless, I can already see this restaurant launching into the top three vegan restaurant experiences in London thanks to its stellar fare. A credit to the culinary potential of vegan food everywhere, Power Plant comes highly recommended! ⭐

Rude teenage as hostess. You have to pay £5 extra to use WiFi if you work but they claim to be a co working space - should make this clearer on website. Breakfast options seemed boring and not as extensive as what was on website. Post 12pm looked tastier. Bad vibes though unfortunately.

The food, ambience and staff are so wonderful in this restaurant! I have eaten at Power Plant on a few occasions and each time the food has been incredible. I had the Jerusalem mixed grill and it was completely delicious. So exciting and flavourful! My non-vegan friends also loved it. Hugely recommend!

Had the roasted cauliflower steak, and some of the mixed grill, and greatly enjoyed both. Customer service was top notch as well. Recommend.

I was there for a a couple of hours having drinks. Went to order food and there were only 3 other people in front but took about 10 min to get to the front as all their staff were making drinks. At this point the chef started shouting. We got to the front and we were told that as the chef is “stressed out” they were only taking food orders for people who had booked! At no point while we were there they thought it might be a good idea to tell us so we could go somewhere else before our show at the roundhouse The place has so much potential which is a shame

Sadly a load of rubbish. A meal out is as much about the experience as it is the food. The food was great, excellent even. But we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. Then we were told that one of the mains had run out and we should choose another one. We did, went to the bar and were told the kitchen couldn't cope and we couldn't order another main. At 7:30 on a weekday. So our meal out consisted of 2 starters and 1 main. We asked the waitress is this was an unusual night and she said it wasn't! Incredibly disappointing. I recommend finding somewhere that can cope being a restaurant.

Dreadful service - don't bother with this place. We waited for a table, and then waited an additional 20+ minutes for menus. The tables were dirty, even when a waiter came to 'clean' the one next to us, she just gave it a cursory swipe with a cloth and left it so dirty and covered in crumbs that the people sat there cleaned it themselves. Staff were all actively avoiding eye contact and I don't think we would even have got menus if I hadn't literally blocked the waiters way as he was coming down the narrow passage from the back. There was no apology for the delay, and nobody even took our drinks order. When we finally came to order, the dishes we wanted were unavailable and we gave up and walked out.

Great Vegan restaurant, we all had the Kimchi Toastie with the Chili Jam which was exquisite - sell that jam please! Cute atmosphere and fast service. Great for a quieter lunch just outside the crazy markets.

We went here and the food we had was delicious and some of the best food we’ve had. It had a very calm and chill atmosphere and the staff were very friendly

Second time here for dinner. The atmosphere is great, I love the venue! There was a live DJ when we arrived. The staff are super friendly but when I got there, it was not clear where to go to get seated. Everyone at the bar was busy and not paying attention. Other people arrived and were just standing around too! I called a waiter who was running around with drinks after a few minutes of this. They were super friendly after that, it would be great if someone could keep an eye on that to make sure customers don't feel lost or get the sense that staff are rude which is not then case. We took a while to order, and sadly 2 of the 3 items they had ran out of. Telling us about the items unavailable would have been a great place to start! The food that arrived was really good! We had the Jerusalem mixed grill, best dish, the "lamb" was great, the vegetables and pitta were delicious, well seasoned 5/5. The mushroom pate was very tasty, good texture and flavours. The apricot jam was pleasant and mild, good combination as well with the pickled mushrooms on top. Could have come with more bread, we literally had to spoon the pate into our mouths (which I'm not too bothered about). The last dish, the smoked aubergine was average. Very smokey, the best were the sauces with it. It would probably taste better on some bread too! Overall, pleasant experience, there are definitely some dishes id like to come back for (hopefully they have them !)

loved this place, the service is great and it was nice and chilled. i wouldn’t normally pick a vegan place and we only went in for a drink as the place we were staying was opposite, but we ended up eating there. the food was great. recommended.

Amazing food. We had a bunch of the starters and a salad. Everything was delicious and fresh. The live music was the cherry on the cake. Going be back for sure.

This place looked great but was disappointing. They had many things out of stock on the menu, and when we got our food it was not even slightly hot. We sent it back to get reheated and they also missed the flatbread originally - we then got a small piece of toast on the side instead of flatbread which was listed in the dish on the menu? We did get a free salad as an apology for the food being cold, but I would not return as the food was average and there were multiple issues - the waitress was nice though

The experience was quite nice as we celebrated a 50th birthday. We enjoyed the casual approach of the staff and restaurant. The food was amazing however they ran out of a couple of things. The chef gave us a nice surprise as one of family member didn't eat onion and garlic. Really appreciated it.

Best crispy cauliflower I ever had. The jackfruit tacos was not good. The service is extremely slow.

Food OKish. Salad I ordered said it came with pitta crutons but actually came with chickpeas. Was also swimming in water as it must have been mixed much earlier. But service was pretty bad. Twice we had to chase for sides of fries we had ordered. They eventually arrived just as we were requesting the bill so I asked for them to be taken off. Got a sarcastic response from the waiter. Given they were £5 for a tiny bowl I felt wholly justified in requesting they were taken off the bill.

Terrible experience. We waited for over 1,5 hours before giving up on our order as we had tickets to the Roundhouse. Service was lovely but they kept apologising until it became apparent we were never getting our food. Shame as the decor is cool but they really need to sort out some serious issues…..

Vegan burger & chips were really nice, the beer was fine, service good. I could only find one ladies loo and I thought I was stuck in it because the lock was really odd. Also it was only 7.30 or so and the floor of the lavatory was awash with water, mostly because the taps stick out too far over tha basin. It seems a bit quibbly because the food, drink & service were fine.

I ordered a Malabi dessert and a chai latte. Both were very good

Food here was nice and all plant based, I got a pad thai which was ok and my friends had the mixed grill which they said was really good. The hummus (£9) came with one half of pitta which I thought was a bit ridiculous - we then asked for another pitta which was charged at £2. We asked for food recommendations and the waitress said she hadn't tried any of it, not a great look!! But the food was good and staff were nice - we went on a wednesday for the live jazz, but in the end it was a live singer songwriter - she was very good! But the people at the bar on laptops, and other people at dining tables on laptops made for quite a weird atmosphere for dinner. Wouldn't go again but did enjoy.

Service could have been a lot better for a restaurant, a sit down order would have been a four star review however we had to order from the bar. Me and sister were originally going to order from the food menu as we pre looked on their website the day before, when we got there we were disappointed with their limited lunch menu so I just stuck with olives which were very good. I agree with some of the other reviews on Tripadvisor, I felt like I was being watched every time I went to use the toilet with people sitting by the bar near the toilet door, almost felt like I was being harassed (I assume they were members of staff on laptops) other than that I think we will return but only for coffee & olives. We might return to try the evening menu which looks a lot better than the limited lunch menu who knows.

Just left after waiting at a table for 25 minutes without any service (2nd od April). It’s quite sad and disapointing, that me and my fiancee were looking forward to try your food for ages as on the menu it looks really good. Unfortunately, this couldn’t happen any of the 5 times we already took the journey and visited, we came at random days & times and the staff said to us, that you don’t serve any food right now or you already closed the kitchen (the closed kitchen one was literally around like 6pm or so - which was surprised as you serve dinner). We really wanted to try it, as much as we went today again, even though we were joking between ourselves that something will happen again and we weren’t far from the truth. We came, nobody anknowledged us, not even greeted us, so we sat ourselves to the table. We waited for 25 minutes, there were people only at 1 table + us at the other table. None of the staff members even looked at us (we sat exactly opposite the bar). Such a disappointment, will not bother coming in again.

Starters and main courses arrived at random times. They couldn't provide another pitta bread. No dessert offered. And had to order a day ahead for a party of eight.

Nice vegan food, however they never have the full menu for lunch time. They have a reduced menu, which is disappointing. The service is quite bad, people working there do not really care about the customers. Very slow service, but the food is very tasty and affordable.

Very dissappointing. Had the Avocado toast with bacon, scrambled tofu and sausage on the side. As my wife said "its hard to mess up an avocado toast". Too much smoked paprica on the toast and too much turmeric on the scrambled tofu. Looks good but very dissappointing.

Ein sehr gemütliches alternatives Restaurant, etwas außerhalb Londons. Der Service war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam sehr schnell sah Toll aus und hat unglaublich gut geschmeckt. Dazu hatten wir atemberaubend gute Livemusik. Die Preise sind nicht zu Hoch und die Portionen zum Sattwerden. Insgesamt ein toller Abend.

The staff were apathetic and rude, making us feel unwelcome during our visit. When I walked in to meet my friend, I was met by strange looks from staff behind the bar and was not asked for booking, if I could be helped etc. The food itself was fine but very pricey for what it was; I paid £12 for shakshuka, having had to buy my own gluten-free bread from Sainsburys next door. Nobody checked up on us, and when we went up to order some smoothies ourselves, the staff were resentful and made it seem like it was a massive burden on them (it was extremely quiet). The table near us also found the staff rude, lacking in humour and energy, and we waited 45 minutes for the bill before going up ourselves. As I left, another man was saying how he had waited an hour for the bill. Really disappointing overall and would not return.

I was excited to find another plant based cafe in Camden. This cafe is really cosy, student friendly environment - it has study space, also tables are big enough for your laptop and your food. I went there for Sunday lunch and I was not disappointed with delicious avocado toast, great coffee and delicious tea. I also was informed that they will be changing menu to more plant based options (I really hope pancakes will be one of those options).

Really wonderful vegan food; and I say this as someone who is sceptical about plant-based diets. The kind of food where you don't even think about meat. Service was friendly and prompt and the restaurant has a very relaxed vibe.

Went for brunch on Sunday. Had a pretty poor experience. Half the menu was unavailable (it was 11am). The guy serving us seemed pretty unhappy to be working there and made a rude comment when we pointed out there was a mistake on the order. We could see the chef from the open kitchen window and he was eating with his cooking gloves on, and digging his ears. Food was just ok. Was really looking forward to it but overall just an unpleasant experience.

Went on a Sunday morning! Half the items not available for breakfast! Waiter unable to remember what was ordered… maybe write it down? Chef was wearing gloves could see him eating in the kitchen, then coming in and out of the kitchen with the same...

Booked here for a vegan brunch, and found out on the day all vegan options have been removed and they are serving animal products for their breakfast and brunch menu. Genuinely shocking for a restaurant called Powerplant gaining popularity in the vegan community to make this decision, IN VEGANUARY as well. Disappointed and won’t be returning.

A real gem in Chalk Farm. Plant based menu, with an afternoon-evening cocktail happy hour. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Some easy and laid-back live music really added to the experience, without dominating the space at all. Recommend the pêche highball! Pet friendly too, so will be going back during the day to work. There’s an upstairs and downstairs with plenty of plug sockets, and social working is facilitated and encouraged. Don’t forget the community and events board before you go!

Very nice place, we opted for the soup the day which was parsnip, carrot cauliflower which was so delicious i could of had another bowl. Lovely team, really impressed with the waiter who was being trained. Looks like they do a fabulous breakfast aswell

I've drunk a lot of coffees in a lot of cafes but this is the first time I've been charged service (40p) for bringing it to the table. Otherwise, no complaints.

First time my boyfriend and I ate vegan food. We had a great time, the dishes were well made and delicious. Nice and welcoming place. Friendly staff. Excellent value for money. I recommend trying this culinary experience. Prima volta che io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo mangiato cucina vegana. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, i piatti erano ben fatti e deliziosi. Posto carino e accogliente. Personale gentile. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Consiglio di provare questa esperienza culinaria.

Food is delicious, reasonably priced, and service fast and friendly. We visited on a Friday night around 8pm and had an excellent experience. This will become a regular destination for our dining. It was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night - a bit of a hidden gem, at least outside of nights when there are events at the nearby Roundhouse venue, and I would highly recommend.

Friendly staff service and food was very quick! We ordered the steak and burger, both tasted amazing. Both our first time trying Redefine Meat, I was impressed with the flavours and texture of how it breaks apart like slow cooked brisket.

We had both diner and lunch here. Clean and pure ingrediënts and superb taste. Very nice personel. The best vegetarisme restaurant we have been, also for non vegetarians. We highly recommend this place! Take the pita aubergine for lunch, the dumplings for a starter and...

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Walked in and stood at the counter waiting to be greeted by the server who was cleaning the coffee machine. They turned and walked up to the bench in front of us and didn’t look up, then proceeded to slowly clean something there until I said hello. There were a total of 6 people in there including us. We got seated and left there without a coffee order. Someone else came over to take our order which was rather unfriendly. People were walking in and experiencing the same thing, standing at the counter whilst two people working there ignored them for around 10min first. The food comes out, no coffee. People walk in and get take away coffee which takes so long for them. We check in on the coffee, oh yes… it’s coming. Anyway, it didn’t come. We got up to leave after eating a pretty average tasting breakfast and the two people behind the counter ignored us standing there waiting to be served. In fact, one of them slowly walked past us and started clearing tables and scrapping plates while we just stood there watching. Another person being served got given their coffee but was waiting on something else but got totally ignored. They had to sit down they were waiting so long. We looked at each other and she said how bad it was too. I again had to call out to them (right in front of us) to get the bill at which the server said “oh yeah we’re just making your coffee now” (45min after we arrived) We paid and left. For the owners, this was on: 19/10 at 9.30am. Wouldn’t return.

The food was exceptionally tasty ! Vegan but as tasty as any meat dish could get. We had the bao buns, the arayes and grilled pita bread. However, the portions are small, without the pita breads we wouldn't be satiated. What I didn't like about the atmosphere is that the place was full of people with laptops. I want to escape work during lunch, not be drowned in it !

My friend is hare khrisna and can’t eat garlic or onions, Sarah took her time to check and make sure it was ok and accommodate. Sarah was amazing. Food was 10/10 I’m not a vegan but this place could easily turn me. Thanks so much

It is one of my best vegan restaurant in Camden. We ate BBQ king oyster skewers, sweetcorn ribs, three cheese arancini and Malabi. All the food was tasty and pleasurable. Definitely visit again.

OMG I'm still salivating after our dinner yesterday evening. The food here is amazing! So delicious and really special. There were four in our party and we all rated this place 12 out of 10 for the food. Would definitely recommend it.

Not a vegan person but their plant based food was amazing. It felt fresh and handmade. The selection of drinks was really good with nice range of cocktails and craft beers.

This place is amazing!! Great atmosphere with live music during the week. Had 3 starters and all were very delicious. I highly recommend the smoky Aubergine and get a fresh pita with it 😍. Made my day.

I just wanted to greatly thank the bartender for noticing right away that I was not feeling well and sending a glass of water so quickly. I ended up having a heat stroke and appreciate that the team gave me time to recover. Thank you you so much for all the help, was really touched by it.
