Meeting friends in The Market Tavern Pub on a cold January morning I passed this Poundbakery in Kirkby Town Centre and decided to drop into here for a quick bite to eat . A nice outlet of this bakery chain, glass fronted serving counters showcase the goodies on offer, lovely decor and furnishings and staff who are super friendly. This was my first visit of the new year ,I ordered a couple of pizza slices which were just amazing ,so tasty ,so filling and great value for money, it was just what I needed to set me up for a few hours ,left here happy and full, its a Poundbakery easy to locate in Kirkby Town Centre on St Chads Parade.

On what was dubbed " Super Saturday " which was the lifting of some of the restrictions placed upon us as a nation due to the coronavirus pandemic visited upon us, pubs and bars were allowed to reopen and while visiting some of the pubs in Kirkby Town Centre I dropped into The Pound Bakery for a couple of pies. Pies were superb ,served steaming hot by a very pleasant member of staff, price was great ,it was just what I needed, a nice, quick and tasty snack on the go. The food is cooked fine. The trays they give you which come from under the counter are nearly always dirty, stained and have crumbs or bits and pieces from the previous customer. They are collected in and put under the counter without being washed. Same with the cutlery. It is often dirty and has tiny bits of food stuck to it. You have to ask for tea spoons and serviettes. The floor is often dirty and food strewn and often only one person is serving and cooking in the mornings. Visited a number of times and no improvement so stopped going.

I have eaten both as take out and sat in the café …. Really surprised at the quality of food , great :) I cannot comment on service as my husband ordered so we did not have the usual language barrier thing that goes on whenever I open my mouth in Kirkby

Wasn't really expecting much but was surprised at this place. Decent decor. Service polite. Food very good and decent coffee. What more can you ask for at the prices. Will definitely revisit.

Waiting for my brother in Kirkby Town Centre to catch the bus into Liverpool city centre I decided to drop into Pound Cafe for a quick munch. The place was busy but I was soon served a couple of steaming hot cheese pies which I happily tucked into ,the pies were first rate and were just what I needed to set me up for the afternoon. I've been here a couple of times now and have always enjoyed their pies and so it proved on this visit. Very easy to locate and easy to find in Kirkby Town Centre.

As the title says. Some decent pies here. Cheap meal if you cook some mash and peas. Cakes here also. Worth a visit. Do sell veg sausage rolls that taste as good as the meat ones. Not a posh shop. In London it's the ten pound bakery. Or could be. Staff are always friendly and, if there us a queue they serve fast.

Great value and clean. Heard some horror stories about some of the PB cafes but this one is lovely. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quick snack, menu is basic as to be expected

Used to love having lunch here, always lovely fresh baguette - my favourite chicken, lettuce and mayonnaise. In the past year or so the standards have dropped, staff not as friendly and helpful as they once were. The baguettes aren't even baked, they are served still part bake, which has caused me stomach upsets. They now won't make fresh sandwiches to order, as they once did, but you have to pick up from chiller and if what you want isn't there the woman told me, "all we have is on the chiller" Quality just isn't there any more for me. I now go to Greggs where they will do a baguette on request and the staff are very friendly :)

As we live in Kirkby we have been to most every cafe and fast food outlet in our town and Pound Bakery in the Kirkby Town Centre is a great place to enjoy a nice coffee and a snack. We were planning a big day out in Liverpool city centre were we had a big craft beer crawl planned out and as we were to early for the banks to open we decided to drop into here for a quick coffee. I remember when this place was a Sayers shop but now it's a cheap and cheerful cafe offering great value drinks and snacks at a great price. We ordered a coffee and a cake each and at well under £2 each great value for money. The coffee was superb and the cake a jam and cream cake was delicious just what we needed to start our day. We moved on after our delicious coffee and cake and for a first time visit to here we were very impressed indeed with this place. You will find Pound Bakery in Kirkby Town Centre. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday,8am till 5pm. Sunday,11am till 3pm. Well worth checking out.

After having a great day out with family and friends we jumped the train back from Liverpool City Centre to Kirkby were we ended our day out in The Railway Pub. A really good pub ,multi roomed ,island style serving bar ,big screens to enjoy the sport ,pubby decor and furnishings and lots of seating options both inside and outside in the beer garden. We were here on a Friday night ,pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,I stayed on pints of Carling beer ,served freezing cold and sparkling ,I chilled out and went over the great day out in our beautiful city. Beer served in here was spot on ,not my normal tipple but it was really good ,stayed on it till closing time ,had a really good time in here as always . The Railway Pub is easy to locate along Glovers Brow by Kirkby Railway Station. Monday to Sunday, midday till midnight. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

A day off work and my twin brother and I were meeting up with friends in The Premier Pub in Kirkby Town Centre, this was our first visit of 2024 ,we went on the 22rd of January and I must say we had a great time. It's a proper little locals pub ,interior is nice ,an island style serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, pool table and big screens to enjoy the sport plus plenty of seating options, it's a good pub to unwind in. We stayed on pints of Carling lager and pints of guinness, it was good having a catch up with friends over a good few pints ,loved my visit here ,its got to be the friendliest pub in Kirkby. We stayed here for a good few hours before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Premier Pub is easy to locate on Market Square in Kirkby Town Centre. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I'm not comming to Costa often, maybe twice a year, but I'm not happy about my recent visit. Coffee and food as you would expect from Costa, but staff completely incompetent to work under pressure, remember orders or multitask, which is quite sad for such a nice place. 4 girls stressing around, spilling coffeys on the desk, customers waiting ages for their coffee as 4 girls cannot manage even 2 customers at the same time and can't remember an order for more than 10 seconds. I have been asked 3 times what I ordered even 10 minutes after I paid and that was just a croissant, lemon cake and late, three customers came after me been served before me, nothing for my level of patience. No smile, no politeness, no sorry, just stressed faces. Cannot recommend, otherwise the place is nice and clean.
