We were offered the official best table in the place, one of two in the windows overlooking the bay. This is a quirky old style teashop to savour. I loved all the nostalgic film posters from the golden age of the cinema, together with some great (though not intrusive) music primarily from a similar age. I could happily have stayed much longer, watching the world go by, but we were only there for scones and a drink. Needless to say, the scones were delicious and the cakes looked equally so. What about the owners and staff then?, well guess what, they were delightful!

What a lovely place, super friendly staff and such a lovely vintage feel to the place. The coffee was at a very good standard and the Victoria sponge was light and super tasty, my partner had lemon drizzle which was equally as yummy. Another bonus is the posh sardine is dog friendly aswell.

Called in here for a cuppa and a sweet treat after a long walk in Arnside. This is a quirky and novel place and well worth a visit. The welcome we received was friendly and chatty. Both had coffee and scones with jam. The scones were lovely. There is traditional and novelty crockery which is a lovely touch too. A gift shop aswell makes this a must see place when visiting Arnside.

This is such a lovely place to visit and the owners are so accommodating and professional. We came here for afternoon tea with friends, having previously visited albeit that time just for tea and cake. Well, it was superb, definitely one of the best afternoon teas we’ve had (and we’ve been through a lot). The food was homemade with decent portions, served on lovely china tableware. In addition the café has beautiful views across the bay (even it was a cold and blustery day when we visited). A visit here is highly recommended.

What a wonderful way to spend a sunny winter afternoon - sitting in a window seat with my best friend, watching the world go by and looking at the wonderful view. The brie, ham and cranberry pannini was delicious and the coffee cake decorated with bailey truffles was heavenly. Service was super efficient and friendly and I loved the crockery. I've been looking for somewhere local with great cakes - looks like this could be the place. Will definitely be returning soon.

Popped in for lunch and received a warm welcome. A little crowded as it’s a small tea room. Managed to move to a small table in the window which has lovely views out to sea. The waitress cleared the table of used crockery and removed the paper wrappings however she did not return to wipe clean the table. Ordered a sausage roll which was accompanied by a small portion of coleslaws and a few salad leaves. Rather small for the price and did not compare with the same from Sandpiper along the road. My scone and cup of tea was delicious. The tearoom is quaint and quirky and they’re dog friendly too!

What wonderful, friendly and obliging cute little place! We had lunch here which was beautifully presented and extremely tasty., served with a pot of tea in fabulous chintzy china cups and saucers - wonderful!! The cakes - which are all homemade - looked divine and although we were full after lunch we were able to take away a cake of our choice in a box to enjoy later. However , the toilet could do with a spruce up to be in keeping with such a lovely place. Thank you for such a welcoming pretty cafe.

our goddaughter elected afternoon tea as her birthday treat and, what a treat it was. despite our leaving it rather late the day before to book, we were accommodated for a 1pm sitting. a warm welcome is always a good start to any event. We were talked through what was being served and told simply shout if there are any top ups required. and so to the tea elements. a good strong brew - and yes we did avail of top ups savouries and sandwiches were excellent - definitely home made is best, my wife especially liked the quiche. sandwiches on very fresh bread and well filled. the bouche mouche of Eton mess (if my taste buds were right) was yummy and very refreshing. and so to cakes. need I say that we were rather over faced with quantity and elected to share tasters of each one and bring the remainder home in boxes. but an afternoon tea is not an afternoon tea without scones. The baker deserves an 11 out of 10. Butter and jam and cream made the moment. By which time we were wilting. What is the etiquette for scones on Arnside.... scone butter jam cream scone... or scone jam and cream and scone?? smashing staff lovely spot well worth the journey over the Pennines

I wanted an afternoon tea treat for my Mum, daughter and me. As my daughter is vegan, I chose the Posh Sardine because they offer this option. We were served with so much delicious food we had to bring half of it home (much to my son's delight!). We were given four different types of tasty finger sandwiches, all garnished with salad which we added to some of the sandwiches. We had a lovely extra treat of a cup of home-made soup and a little pudding served in a shot class. We were very impressed with the cakes (which my daughter says can often dry or oily when made vegan), they were delicious!

Went to Arnside to look at art display and decided to find a place for a brew. Most places were either full or not my scene. Came across the posh sardine on the way back to the car. It is quite deceiving at first as from the outside it looks like a gift shop. Don't be fooled inside it is warm comfortable and the food and drinks are great. The fact that it is a 'camouflaged' tea room is great news as not many people were there. Don't be fooled this is a hidden gem with the owners very hospitable and a magnificent view over looking the bay. I want to keep this place a secret so no one knows about it other than me but this is the best place to sit eat drink and relax in Arnside with great banter with the owner. All cakes are freshly made (including gluten free/vegan etc) and if you time it right and the scones have just come out of the oven go for the cream tea. You won't regret it.

called in here on Sat. 14th Jan I can honestly say I was less than impressed. First of all the seating area is very small and worse of all because the owners have a dog that is allowed to roam about and scavenge at tables other people are allowed to take dogs in. When I was in on Sat. the dog at the rear of my table kept farting at least I think it was the dog I did at one point try to waft the obnoctious smell backwards, the owner of the dog seeing this thought I was being rude but who wants to eat with an awful smell. The toilet also leaves a lot to be desired it would be usable only in a dire emergency also this is right next to the food preparation area. All in all this is an awful cafe and a half decent shop. Dont think this would get a very high food hygene rating or I would say if it does it shouldn't

Called in a morning for coffee and received a really warm welcome. Lots of interesting collectables and gifts with excellent coffee and refreshments. It was so good we had to go back in the afternoon and had tea with the most wonderful home made scones. An absolute delight in every sense

Over the years the coffee shop seems to have grown but the shop still has an interesting selection to browse and buy. Sat outside for coffee to look over the viaduct and sea. Friendly staff.

Lovely little coffee shop at the end of row of shops - we stopped for coffee and two pieces of cake. The lady behind the counter was really friendly and welcoming. The cake was nice - lemon drizzle and slice of Victoria sandwich

What a delightful little cafe nestled in a small row of shops along the promenade in Arnside. The staff are lovely, the food just perfect and the locally made ice cream is to die for. Try the 'Pear Drop' it's great!

This place is a regular pit-stop for my wife and I when in Arnside. Intimate and friendly. Good selection of snacks and great coffee. Limited seating both inside and out - the latter delightful on a warm day. An interesting display of things to buy at both ground and basement levels. Have snacked at other establishments in the Town, but this has to be the best. Very much value for money.

We called in for brunch at this perfectly located cafe & it's relaxed layout of souvenir shop & cafe was perfect (ie the missus could browse whilst I checked the map for our best walking route). Simple but delicious toasties were served complemented by tasty coffees, all served with a smile & friendly, informative chat. It's well worth a visit.

I can't comment on the food and drink since I didn't eat there but it sells some very nice antiques including a 19th Century Staffordshire porcelain dog. The staff are very friendly and its very nice and welcoming inside

Cold and smelled of dogs on arrival. Waited ages to be served and the waitress was more interested on who was at the bar rather than taking our table order for 10 people. Food was very salty and the steak pie in particular was terrible. Every meal as standard/basic or frozen style food. The whole place is run down and miserable. We went off trip advisor reviews as well on a visit to the area and wished we hadn’t. Go to The Pheasant Inn down the road at Allithwaite instead that was lovely food and fab service.

Well I won't be going back ,the food was awful ...the tomato ,basil and pesto soup had a horrible sharp but sugary sweet taste...the sandwich that came with it had the cheapest bright yellow " butter "on. ,a maximum of one slice of ham and the cheapest mustard . My 4 year old grandson could have made a better sandwich ! My husband had pie which had hardly any meat in it and the gravy was unusual tasting ( to say the least ) and sweet . I've had far superior microwave meals ! The toilets which were always an asset to the pub had gone downhill too.

My husband and I were staying at the nearby county hotel and decided to call in for a coffee on the way into the shopping area. The coffee was great and the millionaires slice was lovely. Service was very good.
