There are huge portions and a great location, but the staff can be a little unfocused at times, mixing up order details, etc.

We arrived at 1700hrs to get some food on a Friday evening to be told they close at 1800hrs so they have closed the Kitchen. We were very disappointed as we had travelled to get there and had checked their website for opening times

Fantastic little place serving great coffee and food. Breakfasts are amazing. A little slice of Portugal in our dreary town 😁

So we saw it by accident But prego roll for breakfast was brilliant, husband had a fry up! We were to return today for dinner for our anniversary as I personally love portu food but they are closed Sundays. No matter. We will come another time to have dinner. Sweet staff, good service, good price, very tasty food!

Just started up under new management so some way to go.

I had never eaten here and always see it's busy outside so figured food must be good. I was wrong. Possibly the worst panini I have ever purchased. (Chicken escalope) Dry, pre-cooked, awful Warmer up in the microwave first then in the grill... Everything was rock hard, the chicken definitely wasn't cooked today. Went in the bin... Won't go back. Very disappointed. Server was pleasant though.

The Portuguese picado is swimming in a sauce . Sorry not Portuguese at all . Need to ask for other plate to move the food into . Also yes plenty mushrooms meat little

Been using this place since it opened and usually excellent but yesterday we had and witnessed the worse customer service I have ever seen. The waitress and I assume the Boss were rude and aggressive to everyone! It took 45 mins for our food to arrive whilst pretty good my fork was filthy, after what I had witnessed I was to scared to ask for another one! Won't be going back!

I just love this place. Try the wonderful Prawn Salad! I had mine with crisp golden chips and some polenta as sides. A total delight. The generous Portuguese custard tart was a wow, too, and the Americano was very good. Definitely on my list of favourite places to have lunch.

I had an amazing vegetarian wrap at this place. I must say generally, vegetarian wraps are dull, but this one was full of flavor. It has indoor and outdoor seating as well. Everything is prepared fresh. The ambience is quite relaxing. I sat at the backend of the restaurant, which was cozy, considering it was cold today. Whenever in Littlehampton, we will visit again

Love this place their sandwiches are the best and the lasagne is one of the best

Fantastic little cafe serving excellent food. The service as second to none and the food was great value for money. It would be my choice In Littlehampton.

Awful, take a 40min just for take my order, and after more 30min they just lost my order. I really Don't recommend.

This place is beyond compare - Littlehampton is so lucky. It’s like stepping into an anglicised Madeiran backstreet cafe. The range of food, best grilled whole chicken you’ll find anywhere, the meat skewers, the generous breakfasts, just the phenomenal value and charm of the place. When the sun shines you can drift off to those far off shores and forget for a second you’re in an English seaside town that has seen better days. With more businesses like this the better times are just around the corner.

Excellent, good food and service, decent price. Will definitely go again, have been a few times before, but had some food this time.

Decided to go somewhere different for lunch and Portuguese Grill was recommended by a family member so we gave it go, so glad we did 😋 The food is fabulous 👌 Tasty and plentiful. We've visited 3 times now in the past fortnight, highly recommend, the food and the staff are A+++

Gem of a place. Great food and friendly service. Madeira beef stew was excellent as was the chicken. Top coffee, if not the best in Littlehampton.

Busy little cafe . Nice full breakfast good value , not so keen on their mushrooms , coffee is nice. Quick service , plenty of alternatives and licensed. We'll worth a visit for a nice meal 👍

I went in here on my own but have visited with my family as well. They have an extensive menu, traditional Portuguese cakes, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff are very friendly and the service is efficient. Their paninis are huge and very tasty. It's my go-to cafe whenever I visit Littlehampton. Great comfort food.

Great place hidden in the heart of Littlehampton. Great menu and food is fresh and delicious! Staff are all friendly especially Paulo and Daniel as they were very welcoming to me and my family. Best Garlic bread I have ever had! If you have any room in your belly, I would highly recommend the Portuguese custard tarts which are cooked on the premises apparently. Will definitely come again! 10/10

A busy and cafe/restaurant that serves Portuguese food. Really good food, friendly service and a good price. When we’re in Littlehampton this is one of our favourites.

Been a few times for a quick sandwich and coffee, fast attentive service and really generous portions. Had a tuna mel Panini today for only £5, give this place a try!

I wish I could give 6 stars for the food! Truly authentic and memorable, my mouth is watering as I recollect the fantastic garlic flavour. Reasonable prices, excellent atmosphere and great food. Who could ask for more? Well worth a visit if you are in the area and like authentic Portuguese food.

This lively authentic Portuguese restaurant is in the CBD area of Littlehampton, a short walk from the beach where we were staying. The food was great and good value too. We both chose the half chicken with chips and a nice glass of house white. Food cooked fresh, friendly and efficient service. All round good experience. Would definitely go again. Simple, tasty well prepared and cooked food.

We go here as a family on a monthly basis as we are not local, it's great to have an authentic slice of home not too far away, great food and drinks, pastries and tapas are awesome, love it

They know how to do Piri Piri chicken, great coffee as well. Right in the heart of littlehampton. A great place for a really tasty lunch. Parking is available behind the restaurant.

This was our second visit to the Portugese grill. Outside all seemed dull and sad, but as soon as we opened the door and went in, everything changed. A welcoming and vibrant atmosphere before you even ordered anything. We just had tea and some delicious sponge cakes- drooling over the rest of the menu. We intend to go back- even travelling from Brighton. The staff are wonderful and friendly- including the younger staff working there. It also makes customers talk to each other, even if they haven`t met before. Back on the bus and grey day, but with a glow inside from the visit.

We do like this place. Hubby is in Portugal this wk so felt I had to revist solo. Excellent coffee, nice and strong. Beats many coffee venues . My ham and mushroom omelette was tasty. Service efficiency and friendliness very good Nice atmosphere. The specials look good too. Always top up my bags of portuguese toast snacks for home when I visit. Worth a visit

Being portuguese, one of the things I miss the most is the food. I saw it as I was walking by and I had to go in and try a taste of home. The Bifana is one of the best things you'll ever eat: a seasoned thin pork steak with an egg in a typical Portuguese bread roll. It's to die for! I can't recommend it enough! Obrigado!

This is now my almost daily haunt for coffee or breakfast and sometimes lunch.the food is beautifully cooked and presented and you are always welcomed with a smile! It is a very relaxing place to watch the world go past and is very reasonably priced. A little gem in the heart of littlehampton town centre and thoroughly recommended!!

The absolute worse experience I had in the past 10 years all around. We came in, past the waitress, who happily ignored us, waited around until a colleague spotted us and told us to find a table. We sat down and waited for it to be emptied, they did but had to ask explicitly for menus as they forgot about us. Lot of options weren't available or there was a 45 waiting time for chicken (!!!). They took the order , brought the drinks, spilled it on my husband forgot the glass and after we've waited for our food past everyone around us ( a jacked potato and a schnitzel:) ) and they reassured us out food is next , they came back to ask us if we had ordered food and what was it :)) ironically it was the same order that took the order. Granted the universe had given us all the signs to leave before this and we ignored them, eventually we realized and went on, paid our drinks and will never come back. And no, there was no attempt of them to be relieved from paying the drinks after the awful experience , they did apologies though :))

Delicious food at unpretentious venue - the gigantic Espetada Madeirense is my favourite - a meat skewer to die for!

I'm.stuffed! Great lunch in really busy cafe restaurant. I had beef Milanese and it was so tasty. Really busy but really friendly and efficient. Little extras like biscuits with coffee as well!

Brilliant place, what a pleasant surprise! The food was tasty (we had the meat on a skewer), freshly cooked, and had more than enough for £10 each. Because of the wait (cooked from fresh) we were given 2 lots of tasty nibbles. But maybe best of all was the young waitress, a real breath of fresh air.

Excellent food and great portion sizes. We were on holiday at Butlins which is 15 minutes away. Well worth the short drive for a great breakfast or lunch. I had the deluxe breakfast smoked salmon poached eggs. Delicious. I’m going again tomorrow!!!!

Horrible place, for 3 tapas ( frozen calamari definitely from Lidl/Tesco) we had to wait 1 hours. Do not recommend anyone. Do not waste your money.

One of the best restaurants in Littlehampton. Everything ordered from here has been delicious, breakfast, skewers, Portuguese stew through to the custard tarts.

Air conditioned draining water with customers under. Food tasteless, overpriced and the bill was totally wrong but we only wanted to leave so we didn’t challenge it. The place is too tight and the customer service is friendly but need training.

Is everything perfect? No, but it doesn't matter. Portuguese Grill is a place you must visit! The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is unique. We tried a variety of grilled sandwiches with chicken, peppers, fried egg and beef, yum! Ok, I would have appreciated some ice for the water and soft drinks, but never mind.

I have been going here for several years now and the one great constant is Maria. The happiest person on earth and she makes every visit a treat . As with all businesses , the prices have risen recently but the service and food quality remains the same .

We were looking for somewhere for a bite to eat before visiting the lovely Windmill cinema and found this lovely place. Really nice and friendly. I had a delicous salad. What a lucky find!

The food absolutely amazing, the service not so good because first, the blonde girl who attended us, put on the table the drinks but none ask if we want a glass ( not everyone drinks from the bottle). Another detail is that we had the table full of empty plates when the same girl bring the second plate leaving all empty plates there and when she left the plates, I needed put out the plates in another table for someone take them out. After that details, being honest, the food amazing and was a very big detail that while we benn waiting for our plates, one lady ( I don't know if part of direction or not,) bring to us few beans plus few olivs that later not been added to the bill. The prices really surprised as cheap for this epoch thta we are living when everything is raising. That's why I give the four stars and not the fifth.

Me and my husband came here for some brunch today. I had the vegetarian breakfast and my husband had the pork chop the food was fresh and absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and it’s definitely a place the locals love. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend! xx
