Lovely meal with family and friends last weekend. Delicious food and well presented. The staff were helpful, and kind to the children.

Reasonable parking (pay and display across the road).. Overall this was a pleasant experience. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos but we had a selection of dishes including dim sum, duck, beef in black bean sauce, prawn dishes etc. Too many to list. The food was served timely and was well seasoned and pleasant to eat. The staff were polite and courteous and judging by the conversation other guests had regular returning clientele. Always a good sign. We enjoyed the meal and would consider returning if we were back in the area. A little bit on the pricy side compared to similar places we visited bit that wouldn't put us off.

We had a takeaway to try out with a view to in the future trying the restaurant, this was without doubt the best Chinese we have had in the two years that we have lived in this area and will definitely be booking a table at the restaurant in the near future

My partner and I were in the area and decided we fancied a Chinese for dinner. We looked up local ones in the area and came across Penang Village and thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food was lovely, the hospitality was good and attentive. Being the only people dinning in during our meal, I can’t say much about the atmosphere, but that didn’t bother us, as we prefer it quiet. We asked what one of the plants inside the restaurant was and ended up being gifted a rooted cutting. Highly recommend, and wish the owners / staff all the best. Certainly won’t be forgotten and will be back again when revisiting the area.

Ridiculously overpriced for the quality of food received. Nearly £50 for two very basic main dishes and a couple of sides. I ordered a takeaway, and when I was told the price to pay on collection I hoped the food would justify the cost. It didn’t deliver on either count. Will never eat there and hope the £50 they got out of me is worth my honest review that I will happily give to anyone in future. If your standards of food quality are low and you enjoy paying alot of money for it then this is the place for you.

Friendly & welcoming, family-run business. Food was terrific. 5 of us were able to grab a late night meal at 10pm.

We recently discovered this restaurant in East Preston and had a very enjoyable meal The menu and food were excellent, the staff were friendly and we were well looked after. We will be returning!

Lovely fresh flavours, not over salty and MSG laden like a lot of other places. Great attentive staff and reasonable prices.

Great location in the beach end of the village. Parking easy to find on the roads around the restaurant. Really friendly welcome, and helpful, efficient service. The food is excellent, Malaysian based rather than the usual sloppy Chinese. Takeaways are excellent but this time was the first visit post covid and it’s still a great place to eat in. Would give it 6 for food, if I could.

Really good food but extremely expensive for what it is , over 110 quid for 2 adults and a six year old which i don't see how they can justify considering we normally eat at chopsticks in Littlehampton and it has never cost more that 60 quid , won't be returning anytime soon

I got a selection of dishes on Tuesday night, and I must say it was amazing. I was a bit reluctant after reading some of the reviews on here but I must say it was the best Chinese I have ever eaten, the price wasn’t the cheapest I’ve had nor the most expensive either, but the quality and the amount of food I got was fantastic. I have decided that I’m not going to go anywhere else as I believe it can’t be beaten. I’m going to give it 5 stars but would give it 6 if I could. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. I will see you real soon 😋

Fantastic food! Great service ! Can't fault it !!! Have been going to the Penang for many years with family and friends. Even had a big birthday there !! Cannot express enough how in all the years i have eaten in or had a takeaway the food has always been faultless . As to say have never had a bad meal !! Nick and his mum and Dad are all lovely people. This is a review i should of made a long time ago.

Eat at the Penang many, many times, great food always beautifully prepared and presented. Nick and his mum very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend to all, best Chinese restaurant in the area.

The food was delicious, and the restaurant uses quality ingredients. The service was friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in or around East Preston/Angmering on Sea.

Brilliant to see the standards at Penang are as great as ever. As a takeaway the flavours were so concentrated and fresh tasting. The best Chinese I've ever tasted in fact.

Booked a table for six people. We started with the shared mixed hor d’oeuvres, very expensive (17.50 for two people) I would recommend having these presented as three separate servings rather than all on one plate as the portion amount and size is reduced (seaweed) The half crispy duck was also expensive and the Mongolian lamb was bulked out with crispy rice noodles and also not that nice. The main course were again small, particularly the rice portions, we were given a bowl of rice that was meant to be two portions but was even enough for one so we asked for two more portions. When we got the bill it was not itemised and the total cost for 6 people including drinks was nearly £250.00 that is too much for a local Chinese. To end on a positive, the service was good and the food was tasty but you need deep pockets to eat here.

Excellent choice of food available here at very reasonable prices. Unlike some Chinese take aways, their food is not at all greasy and very fresh.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. We’ve been going there for many years. Would recommend. Good food and lovely staff. I ate there last night (25/8/20) with family and the restaurant felt very safe. The owner and her son wore face coverings and hand sanitiser was readily available. Even with a reduced menu there was plenty of choice. We all ate well and the meal was tasty and the usual good quality. Would certainly recommend.

We booked at very short notice and were pleased to get a table (it was an eat out to help out night). Service was excellent. The food was nothing exceptional, average take away style. And the prices were shockingly high for many menu options. We had a pleasant evening, and eat out to help out meant the bill was discounted, but were a a bit disappointed overall.

After being closed because of COVID-19, we were delighted to see that Penang Village has opened for takeaways. Absolutely superb food as ever! King Prawns are excellent. Kim & Nick on top form. Dad’s cooking divine! We are really looking forward to the restaurant reopening but in the meantime... we’ll be back.

We regularly get takeaways from here, but have also eaten at the restaurant. We love the aromatic crispy duck, but have enjoyed all the dishes we have tried. The service is friendly and efficient. Will continue to go there.

I have only ever had takeaway's from Penang but without doubt this place offers the best ever authentic Chinese food I have ever eaten, and I have had few in my time all over the country. The dishes have a complex flavour unlike the lesser establishments offer. This I believe is due to skilled and authentic cooking with the very best ingredients. Truly superb.......

This family run restaurant has the tastiest food you you could ever want to eat. We have been to see them every year for the last 15 years maybe more? for birthdays, takeaway and just because! They are so warm friendly and welcoming, like extended family.

A fabulous time as ever at this fabulous restaurant. The food is always divine & cannot fault anything. This time we didn’t have a starter as we know the mains are such large portions. Our friends had Lemon chicken & Kung po chicken which were perfect. I had Kung po chilli prawns which were fantastic as always, I also chose noodles with beansprouts which were excellent...half portion next time, Nick’s dad. Huge portions.Hubby had King Prawns satay which he loved. Truly delicious but it is the charismatic Nick & his lovely mum Kim who ensure everything is exactly how you would expect that make this perfect along with obviously excellent food!

Good choice of typical Malaysian / Chinese tasty food with friendly hosts. Takeaways don’t seem to travel as well but still really good. There aren’t many good Chinese restaurants around but this is one of the best.

We really like this local Malaysian restaurant. They have a wide choice of menu served very well. The couple who own it are very friendly and accommodating. You can even order a takeaway but it is nicer to eat here if you can.

Nick and the team must find hubby and me a bit boring because we always order the Paper Prawns and Singapore Noodles as a takeaway. Can't help it. We're addicted to it and it's the ultimate comfort/soul food. Sorry Nick! Don't let your dad change his recipe!

We had dinner here one night as was only a 5 minute walk from our holiday house, it was lovely food & service, however the prices were rather steep! I would recommend, just beware it will be an expensive night

My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time last week. The staff were friendly and the service good. My wife enjoyed her meal but mine was just OK. If I return I’ll try a different meal to see if it’s better.

The reason to go to the Penang is for the people you plan to meet, Honestly the food is mediocre at best , same juices used across several dishes which is just lazy chefs

We had heard that the Penang was very good & had not been there before so we decided to try it...we were not disappointed.....a family run business with attention to friendly efficient hospitality & fabulous food....we chose 2 set meals for 2...all delicious especially the crispy duck & Mongolian lamb after soup & hors d’oeuvres....followed by more delicious main dishes...all superbly cooked & presented...the wine was reasonably priced...white & red....we left full, happy & making the decision to visit again very soon

Having a gluten intolerance I am often wary about going to Chinese restaurants as there is gluten in many dishes. Me and my partner popped in on the off chance that there would be something suitable for me to eat and were delighted when a member of staff went through the menu with us, ticking all the gluten free dishes on the menu!

The best Chinese that we have found since moving to Angmering. They don't deliver, but it is worth the trip to collect! Very good portion sizes and not at all greasy!

Very friendly & welcoming restaurant which also serves seriously good food. Heartily recommend, but you might need to book ahead as it's quite popular - which is another recommendation in itself...

Thought the restaurant looked aged, service was very good, but thought it was very expensive for what you get live just outside the village and have not been for a few years, can’t fault the food

There are quite a few Chinese restaurants local to where I live but I had never tried this one due to it being a little bit further out. It’s tucked away in the village of east preston. Well..I’m so glad I did give this a go! The dishes had so much taste and beautifully made. Not your usual bland same tasting Chinese food. Price was is on par with others in the area and food was ready to collect within 20 minutes. Would 100% recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning, think I’ve found my local fave takeaway! Thank you for a lovely meal, money well spent

We had a delicious meal here to celebrate a birthday. With 5 of us of different age groups we ordered two of the set menus and a couple of extras. The food came at just the right pace and was appreciated by everyone. One thing I really liked was that the plates and bowls from which we ate were really piping hot, which meant that our food stayed hot, cold food being a bug bear of mine. We dipped in and out of the wonderful array of food and before we knew it two hours had passed! The service is exceptional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I only took one photo, of the appetisers, then we completely forgot to take any more as we were so keen on eating. A lovely inclusive meal and the young people didn't look at their phones once, so that was a win!

I really enjoyed the food here tonight and the people running it were very cheerful and friendly. A very pleasant evening all round and I certainly look forward to coming back again. They offer a wide range of dishes including Thai and Malaysian cuisine. I would recommend trying the Kung Po King Prawns, the salt and pepper squid and the Pad Thai if you get the chance and loved the Toffee Pineapple.

Liked a lot by the locals and has been here some years, the dishes are fresh, not a stale vegetable on the well filled plates, seems a little bit expensive for local small independent, but the portion size makes up for it. I just wish the mains tasted a bit more they were a little bit bland, the Prawn Toast starters were well filled, the main of Szechuan Chicken, Szechuan is usually hot and spicy and the sauce should tingle your palate, I hunted for the Chilies, it didn't help, to try to make it hotter

Charming Chines Restaurant in the picturesque village of East Preston in West Sussex. The food is delicious, particularly the crisp duck, and the service couldn't be bettered. The staff are first class, personable and a delight. Definitely returning sometime soon.

Whilst on holiday last week in East Preston with friends, we decided to visit this restaurant. It had been recommended by the owner of our holiday apartment, and it more than met our expectations. The menu offered a very wide choice, and with help from the staff, we all selected dishes that were delicious to share. Because of The World Cup, there were not many other people dining, but this in no way spoilt our experience as the staff were attentive, friendly and ensured that we enjoyed our evening.

i have visited many chinese restaurants over the years and this in my top 5 ever. great service, nice restaurant but most importantly excellent food. every dish i had here was tasty, fresh and not just churned out like some other places i have tried. I cant wait to go back. very, very good.

I visited with a friend on a random Thursday night out. Staff were attentive and friendly. Good wine choice, varied menu and the food arrived quickly and was very tasty and portion sizes were spot on. Will definitely be back. Even gave me a knife and fork as I still cannot use a pair of chopsticks...

Quite simply the best Chinese around!

This restaurant is a bit tucked away in a row of shops but well worth the visit! The Menu is excellent in covering all the dishes that we understand to be Chinese! The quality of the food and level of service is first class and very good value for Money. Will now become a frequent customer!

Terrible experience. The food was pretty poor here, very very disappointed as I was looking forward to eating there after seeing the reviews. The service was slow and the whole place lacked ambience and atmosphere. Despite this the place was packed. I really disliked the quality of the food, maybe I’m missing something. I live the Arundel Chinese, that’s where I’d recommend.
