Portofino in Richmond upon Thames

A fantastic find in the middle of the town. Couldn’t praise it highly enough. It was a small family get together and my 3 year old Grandson was really well looked after Food was freshly cooked with good ingredients and the service was exceptional. Looking forward to next opportunity to go back.

Gorgeous food. We ate here a couple of weeks ago on a trip to Richmond. We had the Parmigiana and some sides. We will definitely be going back. Great service and very friendly staff. Cant recommend enough. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.👍

This wonderful little place is fast becoming a firm favourite. We are always welcomed and have never had a bad meal. A wide choice of pizza and pasta and a nice bottle of wine means that we always leave feeling very satisfied. We hope to be back again very soon!

Surprised the avg review was so high, we found it a pretty average experience, fairly nondescript bland food and service was slow, felt more like a cafe than a restaurant. Pizza oven is a regular gas/hot air oven and pizzas taste accordingly. Pasta was a bit bland.

I walked past this place countless times before I was tempted to step inside. I am so glad that I did. I had the spicy pizza which was as good as any from one of Richmond's pizzerias. The pasta dishes I've tried, arrabiata and carbonara were cooked to perfection. The veggie breakfast was excellent and the egg, sausage and bacon sandwich... my 3 favourite foods in a ciabbata... what's not to like? The decor is low key, the staff attentive and the food excellent. Go here when you just want a bite to eat and don't need the restaurant theatre that would be more suitable for a date night.

Genuinely the greatest pizza I have ever eaten , I have been coming here for special occasions for the last 2 years and I love taking family here also , the staff are incredible and the food tastes better than any other place I’ve eaten (including in Italy)

THE BEST! never write a review but this the the best family restaurant ever! Zsanett is amazing, all of the staff so so friendly. We came in on Valentine’s day after being in London all day, didn’t book but they sorted us a table, we come from about an hour and a half away but will definitely be making a trip back! the food absolutely incredible, pizzas are amazing! you have to make a visit!

An intimate little restaurant with staff with big personalities who are there to have a fun time as well as serve some pretty decent pizza. I’ve walked past here a number of times and wondered what it’s like. I’m glad I took the time to come and find out.

Good food (I've had pizza, pasta and breakfast) at a fair price (especially nowadays). Great coffee (strong but smooth). Friendly staff. It's the only place I go to when in Richmond.

What a fantastic find. A tiny special place in Richmond. Tonight we booked a table for my daughters birthday. Mentioned it as we arrived. So friendly, superb service and food delicious. Very authentic Italian food and good portions. End of meal and they wished my daughter with Birthday cake and candles with lemoncello shots on the house! Travelled from Ascot and will visit again.

We always try to come here when we are in the area. It's such a small place but the food is amazing and all the staff we have met go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They will adapt the recipes if needed and this time recommended a half and half side of garlic bread and passata and pesto which complimented our pasta meals beautifully. Can't wait until we can visit again!

Lovely little restaurant in Richmond, near the station and theatre. Chef Savi is the best - he makes the most fabulous pastas, full of flavour. Great pizzas too, made to order and all reasonably priced. Always good service, we go to Richmond just to eat here!

The food was excellent but what made our visit particularly enjoyable was customer service - the kind lady who was helping us on the evening of Feb 10 is a star! She is so lovely, friendly and helpful, we look forward to visiting again soon!

We had seen this place on a previous visit to Richmond but it was full. This time we booked ahead and we had a great meal. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a very long time. Our server Zsanett was excellent. Very efficient and very friendly. I really enjoyed my pepperoni pizza although the Gorgonzola could have been a bit more generous. I went to one of the big chain pizzerias tonight and was quickly reminded just how great my pizza last Saturday. I wish I lived closer to Pizzeria Portofino. Make sure you book, it is very cosy!

This is such a great place. Exquisite pizza instantly teleports you to Italy. So does the atmosphere and the People who make this place. Despite being full they managed to find us a table. We needed to eat pre theatre so they offered to get our food out to us quickly. Served by Zsanett who was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. She even made very welcome suggestions. As only had limited time I had the Calzone which was one of the best I have ever tasted. The freshness of the preparation and ingredients really shone through. Generous portions with just the right amount of seasoning. We will definitely be returning. This restaurant is just like you find in out of the way places in Italy. Warm, welcoming, the sort of place where you pop in for a quick bite but end up staying for the evening with good food, good wine, attentive service and great company. We have been looking for a perfect Italian restaurant for a while now. Think we may have found it.

Probably the best pizza in SW London, very friendly staff.

Didn't have a booking but they found us a table despite their tiny footprint and being fully booked. Advised we were enroute to the theatre and food was super fast to help us out, pizza was freshly made to order (with recommended additions), really reasonably priced and our waitress Zsanett was so prompt and helpful. Will definitely be going back, thanks for a fab meal.

This is an authentic Italian restaurant tucked away on the side streets of Richmond. It is an absolute gem of a place. We found this last year whilst visiting Richmond theatre. It was so good, we hunted it down again & they didn't disappoint. The food is cooked fresh, is piping hot and very tasty. The portions are generous & what isn't eaten is offered to you to take away. Wonderful staff, on hand for anything, nice & friendly.

Portofino is a beautiful and small Italian food restaurant. The service is impeccable and the staff really care about the customers. The restaurant is clean and the ingredients for the food are good. It’s also located in the heart of beautiful Richmond. Ordered pizza and pasta and would’ve liked the pasta to be less over cooked than it was even though the flavor was good. The pizza could’ve used a little more crisp in the crust and pep in its step. Overall good with a few adjustments.

My first dinner in Richmond with my partner and we absolutely loved it here. The food was a 10/10 and the service was without doubt a 10/10 as well. I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and my partner had fiorentina pizza and it was really good. Ambience is intimate and lovely. Don't forget to tip if you can as bills don't include service charge. We're definitely coming back. We loved it here!!!

A beautiful and cute little place for tasty pasta or pizza. Had a great time, with nice atmosphere, wine, and food. Particularly the dessert Torta Della Nonna was superb. Many thanks specifically to Zsanett, who was excellent, friendly, and made us feel very welcomed!

This little restaurant was a perfect location for and after theatre meal. Food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcomed even though we arrived a bit early and with a 9 week old baby!

The Lasange came frozen. The garlic bread didn't have enough garlic on it when asked for extra garlic. The salmon Linguine was under seasoned and looked awful on the plate. The salmon had clearly been cooked days before being used in this pasta

We had a marvelous prosciutto and fungi pizza, tricolor salad and tiramisu. All excellent. Very generous with the wine, too.

Had a lovely meal here on a grey cold night. We were welcomed warmly despite not booking and served promptly. My rigatoni amatriciana bacon pasta was delicious as was my Tiramisu - served with 2 spoons so my hubby could sneak a few mouthfuls! Enjoyed a nice bottle of Merlot as well. Great value for money! Highly recommend as had a lovely atmosphere as well.

Portofino is such a lovely, family feeling restaurant. The food is great, the staff are amazing; always welcoming and friendly. All the food is great and if you’re looking for a lovely little spot to eat in it’s a great recommendation in Richmond (coming from a local).

Solo diner. The staff made me feel very welcome and I had the Sicilian pesto pasta with a glass of house red. It was gorgeous. Will be coming back again during my short stay.

Came here for a bite to eat on way home from being in the west end. Quite a compact restaurant inside but friendly staff and nice food. Reasonably priced too for London. Had pizza n wine here which was really nice. Parking nearby on the street. Free to park after 6.30pm on nearby parking. Busy little place with people in and out for dinner and takeaway.

I had the goats cheese pesto pizza and it was so delicious, could really taste the goats cheese which you often can't. However I think my other friends weren't as impressed with the food, although did still like it.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant by far. Incredible food, best pizzas and pastas. Service is fantastic, extremely friendly staff and very welcoming.

I came to Portofino for lunch and I was really surprised. The pizza they prepare is probably the best I have ever had in my entire life. The attention of the waiters is especially happy and very attentive. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good pizza.

Best casual dining option in Richmond town centre. Very good pizza, service always on point. Bit cramped for space and can be noisy but that's part of its charm.

Very cute spot and yummy fresh pizzas! The service is so full of warmth, I didn’t feel like I was in a big city but rather in a small town somewhere away on a vacation spot in Europe. They were very patient and considerate of our needs and requests. Just a lovely experience. Definitely recommend!

Small venue maybe but Big on flavour. A must if you get hungry in Richmond.
