Everything was stale or reheated. They kept shouting about covid rules. I was told to shut to put my mask on between bites.

Good menu with plenty of choice especially for vegetarians. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cool roof garden and interior.

We were in cirencester walking around the local markets and craft shops and had a table booked for lunch elsewhere ... it started to rain so we tried to get in there earlier but they wouldn’t accommodate us so off we went and found porters cafe bar down the side street ! As soon as we went in we were greeted warmly by the friendly owner Michael ... he was ever so nice and because of this we decided to eat there instead ... we had a roast and I must say one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time .. the meat and gravy was deliciously cooked to perfection and the potatoes were fluffy and crispy cooked in goose fat absolutely fantastic !! The red house wine was one of the best red wines I’d ever had and was recommended by Michael .... Our day was made special after finding this great place

Love this pub and always feel welcomed by the management and staff There are a superb range of beers and reasonably priced tasty food, I would highly recommend

I visited Porters with the intention of eating dinner with 5 friends. We were warmly welcomed by the waiting staff and shown to our table, drinks were requested and were quickly brought out to us. A short while later we ordered food and another round of drinks. Our orders were varied (steak, linguine, burrito etc) but not massively complicated. Some of the food came out after 45 minutes and then a following 5 minutes later, the rest came out. By then we were very hungry and wished we had ordered starters. The food did taste good, the portion sizes were good and the quality of the dishes was high. The price of the food was especially good as there was 40% off all dishes. I would eat here again but I would prefer the food service to be quicker.

Our first time eating at Porters. We both ordered the Chilli Grande Nachos. Bland food, no chilli's, hardly any minced beef as it had been mixed with mashed potato to make it appear heartier and the tortillas obviously were chucked in as an after thought as they tasted like they had come straight out of a packet.Kudos for offering all meals at 40% discount during weekdays, but don't sell substandard meals that taste worse than a 1989's school dinner.

This bar promotes young people to excessively drink. I was on my way home from Cricklade Street and a group of at least 15 possibly more (during the pandemic where the rules are no more than 6 inside and out) stood in the road which is one way and obstructing traffic and climbing over cars that were parked on the side of the road. What was even more disgusting was that several members of the party did not move for the oncoming car and one individual walked towards the car daring to run them over. I appreciate that they are out for a good time but this behaviour is unacceptable and is not nice for residence or workers of Cricklade Street to witness.

We waited over an hour for food and left when we were told it had just gone on. This is not on. Should have told us from the beginning how long it would be and we could have gone elsewhere without wasting our time.

La comida era excelente, grandes porciones ya un precio muy razonable. Vino de la casa encantador y sidra encantadora. El servicio fue excelente, personal muy amable y atento y han adaptado el entorno para ser COVID seguro. Estamos en la zona durante unos días y sin duda volveremos a visitarla. Haga una visita y no se decepcionará.

Went here for a lunch on Sunday. We had a pizza and some fries and a couple of drinks . Was good value for what we had. Food was nice.

Visitaron en su segundo día de apertura después de COVID - 19, particiones construidas para mantener a los comensales separados, espacio suficiente para el distanciamiento social. Me encantó el rosbif del domingo, con patatas, zanahorias, chirivías, brócoli, pudín de Yorkshire y queso de coliflor. 11. 95. Hamburguesa casera con queso y tocino, patatas fritas y ensalada de col 9. 95, las porciones eran más que adecuadas, de hecho, tuvimos problemas. Definitivamente regresaremos.

Thankyou to all the wonderful staff who made our afternoon very enjoyable watching the races. We were looked after from start to finish. The food was lovely and all 11 of us enjoyed a variety of different home cooked dishes and scrumptious desserts . We will be back

We went to Porters for a company lunch and catch up yesterday. The place was filthy..... it was like they had 500 people partying there the night before and forgot to clean it. There was dried vomit in the men’s toilet and on the floor. The beer was off and we were rudely told that a bright ale should actually be cloudy and taste bad ..... we felt we needed to wash our hands after leaving

Porters is our favourite place to eat in Cirencester. It has excellent food and drink and is very welcoming for your 4 legged friend. Very friendly staff and a relaxed dining experience.

Porters is perfect for a relaxed evening out. It has a wide array of ales, ciders, beers, wines and more alongside an excellent menu. It serves quality food at a reasonable price and provides a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone.

La foto no le hace justicia, pero le da una indicación de los tamaños de las porciones. ¡No está diseñado para hacerte querer budín! Ambiente agradable y el dueño parece encantador, sin duda volveremos.

Went here for lunch today with a colleague. We both had the steak and bacon pie, which was superb. Pie was crammed with tender steak, served on top of creamy mash with veg and delicious gravy. Good selection of ales and lagers too, at reasonable prices, e.g. £3.20 for a pint of Doombar. Will be back.

Great atmosphere, extensive range of ales, largers and gins. Small menu but home-made pizzas and all meals very good. Gents loo must be unique (sorry ladies). Brilliant place to eat and drink.

Having visited a few times for lunch, Porters has a good range beer choices on draft (I suspect the most of any pub in Ciren) and the menu although small, changes regularly and is done really well. Great spot in Cirencester! Will be back. Also pool tables upstairs.

We live in Cirencester and most sundays we like nothing more than having a stroll down town and having a drink in our favourite bars. Porters when they opened was one of these pubs. However unfortunately we have seen a decline in the level of standards, cleanliness etc. Our concerns are that we have watched so many pubs fail in Cirencester and end up closing its disappointing to see the difference a change in management can make. If the manager doesn’t expect certain things like, clean tables that your glass doesn’t stick to or glasses to be clean let alone a bar full of dirty glasses and tables that haven’t been cleared then the staff won’t either! Please take a step back and look at it from a customers perspective before it’s to late !!

Sunday lunchtime we ordered a burger and a pizza which after an hour we just left, the pub went from being quiet to dozens of students which were noisy and crowding us

Came up to Cirencester for the day and popped into Porters for a lunch time meal. Staff friendly and they provided a great service with food served quickly and of a good quality. Also dog friendly which was definately an added bonus. Will certainly go back when next in town.

We popped into Porters for a quick bite to eat, after being told by the bar maid that it was a 15-20 minute wait for food. We had to ask the bar staff if they could clan our table as it was sticky and filthy, a poor attempt was made to slightly wet the table by the under enthusiastic waiter. More than an hour wait and the waitress bringing us the wrong table order 3 times we received our meals.

Disappointed. Eaten twice before at Porters and had no complaints but today was not good. Food took a long time to come out with the excuse it was the chefs first day.We had a complimentary drink for the long wait but it has put us off to go back.

We have visited several times and different times of the day. Staff always friendly and helpful. Great Atmosphere in the evenings. Food was lovely and a reasonable price

I fancied a pint with my family, the manageress (Danii) was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, made us feel very welcome! Great atmosphere, lovely real ales and funky decor!! This place is defo worth a visit! 😉🍻

A really friendly bar. Danni the Manager was very informative and helpful. They really can’t do enough. Do not hesitate to visit here for drinks and some food, you really can’t go wrong.

My wife and I had lunch today and I must say what a delightful meal we had.I had the Smoked Duck Pie in red wine which was very tasty.My wife had her favourite Macaroni cheese which enjoyed very much.We would highly recommend trying Porters we will definitely go back.

We popped into Porters Cafe Bar on early May bank holiday Monday at around 12.30pm, as we had looked at the menu outside and decided that the food looked great.

Lovely place to eat, great food friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. You can even have a game of bar billiards.

Waited 40 minutes for ham egg and chips. Ham straight out the fridge, eggs tepid chips soggy. Could have gone into their kitchen and done it better myself. No warning about the wait time (wasn't busy, whole upstairs was free when we arrived). Took so long we were late getting back to work. Will not be going again. Can't fault the beer though, that was lovely. Just don't go for food.

This was our third visit to this new bar/eatery in Cirencester, and it has been brilliant every time, the pizza is homemade and so tasty, generous toppings and reasonably priced, and a great selection of ales which are ever changing in this true free house. The decor is warm and inviting as well as eclectic and interesting, and we have received fantastic service every visit, on top of it all is a really friendly and welcoming manager? Possibly the owner, called Mike, always with a pleasant hello and a cheery goodbye. Great place and hope to return as often as possible.

Visited for lunch as a family .. to be honest it VB was s large party of four families .... We all had superb meals and the hospitality we were given was excellent... One of the ladies from the group had a bad fall before getting to the restaurant so they were very accomodating due to the delay ... The hostess was very helpful and brought out some snacks for the children so that they at least had something to keep them going .... There was no charge for this which was very kind of them. Roast potatoes were superb .... Yummy

Food very good, friendly staff and a billiards table as a added bonus. We didn’t know how to play billiards so the owner of the pub/restaurant kindly took a minute out to show us how! Overall great experience.

Third visit for Sunday lunch over the last two months, it’s hit the nail each time. The roast offers a varied selection of veg and a perfect portion of beautifully cooked meat. The service has been attentive from both staff and Mike, the owner. And all at a very competitive price. Highly recommend it. Thank you Team Porters.

First time here and will be back! Greeted by the friendly landlord and good selection of beers. Excellent choice of food on the menu. Chose the home made chicken and mushroom pie. Glad I did. 10 /10 My partner really enjoyed her ham egg and chips too. Family run pub with a great decor and atmosphere. Cosy fire downstairs and big screen upstairs for the rugby - ideal.

We went for breakfast Cheltenham week & thought it would be busy, it was dead. We at one point were the only people in there. The breakfast was tasty but the fried bread and bacon was so overcooked it was inedible. The beans were served in the smallest pot ever (& were quite dry). The breakfast also included half a grilled tomatoe and one mushroom.

We have been a few times to eat so went back with the children. A lovely atmosphere and the manager always friendly and checking we've been served. Great food and will be back.

The owner of this bar is so rude I saw him remove a couple lads a couple of weeks ago and they did nothing wrong he was so rude I won’t be returning for the failed attempt of customer service for the owner

Went to porters for the first time last week and had a fantastic meal.it was that good we came back again this week,friendly staff great food and to top it all open fire and dog friendly that a great mean we will be coming back to try even more dishes from there fantastic menu,keep up the great work guys

Was very excited when Porters opened as their Facebook page showed a great vegan menu yet when we visited they had no vegan menu and it was like I was the first person to even ask for a vegan option. They clearly struggled, although I did in fact get a meal along with my husband but the food was very average. Can’t say I would rush back for food, however as a bar it was a relaxing environment for a drink.

poor staff training and really badly managed by the owner, food mediocre and cirencester answer to a weather spoons! I won't b returning just not for me.

Amazing food and good choice of ales, lovely atmosphere only popped in for a coffee but ended up having a meal, the Sunday roast is lovely, lots of choice as well, we will definitely be back
