Food was just ok, not bad, not good - ok. There is no toilet and the staff is just ok as well.

The breakfast was very greasy and the bacon was rock hard and I couldn't eat it! The hot chocolate was nice. The chips were not that great either and for the price, I expected better

Absolutely delicious breakfast, staff very attentive, patient and accommodating even with a full cafe. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I had a lovely lunch in Porters Cafe yesterday. My daughter had the macaroni cheese, it was huge. The chorizo on top was so nice. I had the ploughman's, lovely warm crusty bread and brie. The staff were very friendly. A huge thank you to the kind staff member who realised I had left my shopping behind (A rare treat of Charlotte Tilbury makeup) and came running to find me! Thank you.🥰 x

Went there for breakfast Thursday and Friday and was made welcome and treated very well. Went Saturday for breakfast and it was full, we were treated like trash when I tried to ask if we could wait. 2 seats then became available, we sat down and was “told” we couldn’t sit there as people were waiting. I asked about waiting and was brushed aside again. Shame as it’s left a bad taste after our 2 previous visits.

Every visit to Liverpool includes a meal at Porters . This time I had the best chicken curry I have had in age. So tasty nice bit of heat recommended. Partner had soup and basket of chips . Be back in August.

The full breakfast is super delicious, and hot chocolate I loved it.

Short English breakfast break, very pleasant at the edge of the docks. A smiling team, a very pleasant ambient playlist, a veggie option for breakfast. Thank you, it was really nice. 62 💷 at 4, very reasonable. 🫡

Cheese and tomatoes panini could have been really good but cheese was totally tasteless - wouldn’t have been any the wiser if it hadn’t had been there, was the type of cheese that would have been described as ‘mild’ And would have been half the price off anything decent. Also was irritating when members of staff darted to the door to ask passers by if they wanted a table.

Popped in for a traditional fry and I really wished we hadn’t bothered. We were sitting by the cooking area and the girl who was cooking our food dropped a sausage on to the floor and picked it up and put it straight back onto the plate and proceeded to bring the plate to the table. When she was told we had witnessed what happened she said okay and walked back and removed the sausage and cooked another one and reheated the rest of the food in a microwave!. She obviously expected us to eat it and when she was pulled about it she didn’t even apologise. Absolutely disgusting! Avoid! If we had been sitting else where we wouldn’t have witnessed it.

Ordered the full breakfast, was seated beside where the food was prepared/heated which turned out to be lucky for us as the young girl who was preparing our breakfast dropped a sausage on the floor and picked it up & put it back on the plate. When she took the plates to our table I told her I seen what had happened so she had no choice but to replace the sausage. Also noticed that quite a few times she handled food with her hands which isn't very hygenic. Also no toilet facilities.

Excellent service and breakfast. Lovely place. I recommend it.

Lovely cafe. Stopped in to shelter from the rain, so glad we did. Had hot chocolate and possibly the best carrot cake ever, homemade, moist and utterly scrumptious. Sheer perfection. Husband had choc fudge cake which he enjoyed, but regretted not getting the carrot cake as it was so good. Would like to try lunch there as looked lovely

Great food and large portions, great place for lunch but also good mains menu, good service and location, on the pricey side but to be expected given location and quality, worth a visit

I thought we were lucky to chose Porters as we walked around the dock area at around time for lunch. We had the chicken josh rogan and the steak and ale pie. Thought ingredients quantity were quite good and well prepared.

Cracking little café right on the dock. The traditional breakfast was cooked spot on. Couldn't fault it. Staff were lovely too.

Had a really nice lunch all food was well presented by very friendly staff. Cleanliness of inside was excellent. Outside seating was available but it was raining. Reasonable prices for a nice setting. The carrot cake could not of been any fresher.

Awful food. We were sat at a table that looked onto the food prep area,every single thing except the chips were put into a plastic jug and then a microwave to be heated up. Staff member swept the floor then returned to reheating food without washing her hands. 2 members of out table ordered goujons and chips which came out undercooked and anaemic. No staff member came near out table to ask how our food was. When we went to pay we brought to their attention the 2 uneaten meals which they wouldn't remove from the bill they would only remove the 2 cokes as a good will gesture. Will not return and encourage management to retrain staff and perhaps put some funding into better food preparation equipment.

Food is sick in this place. All reheated food. Made for hours and left there. Staff unbothered they are as well to stay at home. I will advice people to stay well away. Food all undercooked salmonella possibility. STAY WELL AWAY

Friendly, efficient service, great Tuna Melt and Chicken with Bacon but lost a star due to the anaemic, undercooked chips! And they couldq have been so good had they been cooked for a while longer. Good location, under the walkway and pleasant enough views out over the water…

Enjoyed our panini lunch today. My one suggestion would be to invest in some new cutlery as the knife I had was useless to cut the food.

Little expensive for the quality of the food and portion size of the food, had the same food alot better in a number of other places, service a little hit and miss, one person was friendly and welcoming, the other less so

The homemade steak pie is delicious, I would recommend it.

The food was average and pretty expensive for what it was. Their kitchen facilities are limited so I get the impression most of it is not prepared on site and is warmed up to serve. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Although when I pointed out that there seemed to be something wrong with the mashed potatoe (which I had left uneaten on the plate), they didn't really seem to care.

Lovely little find in the Albert Dock. Food was hot, tasty and generous portions.l and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient. No loos but there are public toilets more or less next door and only a few seconds walk away.

Fantastic casual dining for a good price on Albert Dock. Very nice no fuss English breakfast with all you would need! Staff very attentive and quick to serve and always happy to help.

When looking at menu outside a lovely girl greeted us and we just couldn't say no and was not disappointed. We ordered side chips and cesar salads, great portion sizes and the coffee was just right. Prices are very reasonable. My only gripe was the elderly gentleman behind the counter coming out and looking grumpy with no smile, sorry just the way it came across with the waitress being so friendly and smiling alot it could put you off coming in or staying. Well done to the waitress.

Kleines zweckmäßig /gemütlich eingerichtetes Restaurant mit leckeren Gerichten. Wir hatten chilli con carne, Möhrenkuchen und Cappuccino. Alles von guter Qualität zum satt werden. Eine Empfehlung wenn man schnell etwas vernünftiges essen möchte.

We had the mega breakfast (2 of everything) @ 9.75 and shared which made it good value. They happily provided extra plates etc. Hot chocolate with whipped cream was good.

Visited with my partner for breakfast, Service was AMAZING!! Food was really nice, So good in fact we went back the following morning for another mega breakfast before we set off back home! The staff are so friendly and the food is great!! Even wished me a happy birthday! Great little cafe and we will be back when we visit Liverpool for the Christmas markets! 5 STAR FOR THE STAFF AND THE FOOD!!!! HIGHLY RCOMMENDED

Customer service is amazing! Everyone makes you feel welcome and looked after. Drink and food is reasonably priced and tasty as well! Would definitely recommend.

We stopped by for a quick lunch - jacket potatoes . Very generous portions for both of us and very tasty, cajun chicken had a good kick to it, just what we wanted. Soft drink choice was limited (for us).

Breakfast itself was ok, nothing special but nice. The problem is that they already charge about £9 for a "big" breakfast which only comes with 2 sausage/bacon. Then if you want hash brown its £2 extra, as is the black pudding. Two ingredients which I would say are part of a standard big breakfast anyway, especially at that price. Then the fact I received 2 soggy hash browns and only 1 slice of black pudding for £4 extra on top is a joke. Surely hash brown is standard on a full English and fair enough black pudding is a bit more specialist but for £2 you're really just gonna give me 1 little slice... taking the mickey to be quite frank.

When for breakfast during our stay on the docks Lovely little cafe breakfast was great value and the quality was excellent. Would recommend to people for good value food in a great location.

Popped in on the off chance for a light lunch. Very warm welcome and given a table. Good variety menu. Food was excellent. Very good portions great value for money. Will definatley visit again in the future.

Me and my partner came upon this cafe on the docks during our weekend break in the city. We were very impressed with the food and service. Gorgeous breakfast sandwiches, quick service and reasonable priced. I would recommend visiting here :)

Me & a friend came across porters over the weekend, we was looking at the menu outside when a member of staff came out to us & said ‘are you coming in’ we was a little bit shocked by her attitude but we just laughed...

Absolutely appauling, both staff and manager were unnecessarily rude after we ordered two hot chocolates and a tap water, as my friend wasn’t feeling like having anything. Apparently we HAD to order one of their extortionately priced drinks to be allowed to stay in the restuarant, so we had no option but to leave to which the manager replied ‘its probably for the best’.

So…. Expensive… and they will not serve you if someone in your group is not ordering even if the rest are. They told us we were “taking up space”

Almost didn’t go because they only had one review…Glad we did as they do proper English breakfast without all the fancy stuff, herby sausages etc. that most cafes now do. Highly recommend if you want a good old traditional English breakfast 👌🏽

Rather than have breakfast at the Premier Inn we wandered outside and found Porters. A great find and the best bacon butties with a cup of coffee was a good start to the day!

New name and much better is Porters. Great value snacks and light meals with good coffee. Location on the dockside (sit inside or out) and enjoy. Around £5 - 6 for a light snack is super value and the staff are friendly ...... what's not...
