Awful landlord very aggressive and rude. He seems to think it’s acceptable for his dog to jump up on you! Then when the dog is gently pushed away tells you to get out his pub and never return!! Not only that he then decides to follow you outside with threatening behaviour.

A run-of-the-mill pub where I sheltered from a downpour, but with no real ale there, I wouldn't ever be a regular. It's fine for lagerheads, though.

It's a gd pub and a great atmosphere but on a sat night it has a dance floor and music. The one thing that let's it down is the coldness inside and makes you want to leave and not stay. Shame its not warm inside. And heaters in the beer garden.

Very good pub, always something going on here, very good experience most of the time, However you do get a lot of trouble come your way sometimes. But that's not the pubs fault to be fair. There's a brilliant bar lady that tries her very best and always makes sure your not waiting to long for a drink. She's very helpful and friendly. I did ask her name but I completely forgot it. However she is awesome! Thank you so much she's an absolute credit to this pub.

Being a Staple Hill lad(stretching that a bit),old codger is more accurate, what is there not to like about the 'Cullis'.Under new management now, restyled but in keeping with its roots and a good atmosphere.l was there to hear Pete Holden perform,as always ,he did us proud.A gentleman and first rate performer and musician.Sorry,l digress....the pub, well l have always liked it,my dear white haired old Mother liked it and spoke often about it back in the day.More than worth a visit,a Staple Hill institution,l date to elevate it to that position.Great atmosphere, everything reasonably priced, cheerful and quick service and for those in the direst need,a lovely smoking area put back(not my bag)but it is nicely situated.Get up on the hill and give it a try.

Many families & friends join up to have great social nights together, but if anything made it worse it was when the 501, across the road, opened its doors for the first time. Having 2 pubs next door to eachother asks for bad scenes. The Cullis was there way before the 501, so kick them out.

So you spend 185k on a place, advertise it as much as possible, so obviously it will be busier. This means you need more than 1 member of staff. I lost the will to live, waiting to be served. Should’ve spent 175k and used the 10k to employ more staff. Appalling.

Have visited this pub on many occasions as I'm a local and the location is great. Always amazed how they have any customers. There attitude is that you are an inconvenience. Customer service is shocking, hospitality non existent. Food average. I've given them plenty of chances but will not be visiting this pub again as they really don't deserve my custom.

Proper old fashioned pub. The weekly live music is very often excellent and the people who drink in there are friendly. It doesn't get too busy, apart from the live music nights when it can become crowded but you can expect that. They also have a number of promotions that offer good deals on food and drink on select days.

I get my husbands rolls here every week they are fantastic. Cheap and very fresh and full. I haven't eaten in here but when I have been in getting the rolls the good looks fab. Wow! Any meal on their menu for £2.50 lunchtime or evenings any Monday - so long as you buy a drink, this can be a pot of tea at £1 or a glass of lemonade as well as your more expensive tipple. Lagers and beers and ciders are sold at £2.50 per pint on Mondays. I have been going twice a month eating from their menu having things such as Grilled gammon and eggs, chips and salad, Liver and onions with choice of pots and freshly cooked veg. Huge homemade faggots choice of pots etc etc. Lasange, cottage pies, roast pork, turkey etc. Ham egg and chips, salads, you name it, it's probably there all for £2.50 on a Monday. Most of these dishes are normally priced around the £5-6 mark so what good value. Not the most salubrious of settings but well cooked large portions of food.

Lovely Spoons. It's a shame it's shutting. Popped in for the first time on its last day. Sun was stunning while sat out the front in the beer garden. Tidy pub with lots of seating, inside, outside, and upstairs. Toilets were a bit of a hike. Food and drink very standard for a Spoons. Guinness was rather nice and well poured.

Went here for pre theatre drinks. Two regular soda and blackcurrants cost £5!! It's £2 in the Bristol Beacon. The disabled toilet should be condemned. You have to ask for a key, which is always annoying, and the toilet roll holder looks smashed and hanging off the wall, the mirror looks smashed or very distorted, and it looks like it was once an outside toilet that has been built around! The ladies isn't much better with as many toilets as possible crammed into a small space which means having to contort yourself to get in there and close the door. Certainly won't be returning to this place although I doubt I'm it's usual customer anyway. Can't comment on the food as the place was near enough empty with noone eating. Tellingly, The Stable and No 1 Harbour side were both full of people eating and drinking.
