I came here late on a Friday afternoon and it was fairly busy. I got a table though and proceeded to have a really enjoyable couple of hour drinking some excellent beers. I had for beers in total and all were top notch. The pub had a very good atmosphere and the locals were friendly. The bartenders were alert and efficient so I never had to wait to be served. Or perhaps it was that I didn’t join the queue. Instead I would go to an empty section of the bar to be served. I thinking queuing is a legacy of COVID and therefore no longer necessary in pubs.

Fantastic pub just a short walk from Manchester city centre. Great range of beers, friendly bar staff. One of the best in the city.

The original Manchester craft beer bar. It's a fantastic place for any beer lover. They've been serving the best selection of locally and imported beer for years. The staff are always brilliant and very patient while I spend way too long choosing my pint. Thank you for another lovely visit.

Brilliant bar with the best beers on offer in Manchester as far as I am aware. Love this place and often stay too long in it trying different beers. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.

Fantastic pub with an incredible selection of beer for all tastes. Lots of seats inside and the bar staff are so knowledgeable about the beer and always happy to chat through the selection.

I have rated the beer not the food but what they have is a great range of well chosen well sourced pints. Definitely worth the good beer guide recommendations. Lots of space upstairs for our visiting convention to takeover for lots of great chats

Port street has definitely improved over the years. Much better staff who are less up their own arse and more options than bright yellow beer that tastes like pineapple

First visit ahead of a visit to the Eithiad. Beer was good football less so. Look forward to the next visit hopefully next season

Brilliant specialist beer house not far from Piccadilly Station and the city centre. Five real ales on hand pumps, one of which is usually a dark one. The beers are usually from independent brewers.

My first time in Manchester and before I went out for the night, I searched for a real ale pub and this place appeared. What a little gem this is. If I lived in this part of town, I don't think I'd end up visiting many other pubs apart from this one. The quality of choice of the ales is superb. Could've stayed there all night. Outside seating area unfortunately overlooks a huge new tower apartment block under construction. But that's my sort of thing, so it didn't bother me. I suspect when the block is complete, this will become a very trendy area to reside.

Nice atmosphere, very welcoming, but I was not impressed by the beer collection they had. Maybe I had different expectations.

Busy as it was a match day. Their cask beers are pretty expensive. Good range of cask beers for most palates. Some glassware is not stamped as pint glasses

The bar maid and man were amazing. More than happy to show the choice of beers and indulged my franking rather fecking annoying questions. It may or may not because they liked me a little bit or because I was paying for my beer, it’s a 50/50.

Great beer, I had the Good King Henry V, 9% 😜 And a Little Orla citra.

Went in with an idea of what I wanted - something intense and strong in a small glass. The bartender recommended an oak aged stout that was exactly what I was looking for. The normal strength cask beers I tried were also excellent - both the pale hoppy one and the darker malty traditional English ale.

Always make sure we visit PSBH when we're in the NQ, great range of taps and lovely staff 💜

Beautiful classic style pub. Like an old spit and sawdust boozer but with a fantastic choice of ales. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a pint after work, and I was asked what my shoe size was. When I said it was 12, the bar keep said "you can't be a Tory" and gave me a pint of frothing ale which I gulped down with gusto. When I did this the entire pub stood up and applauded me and we all started singing "oh jeremy cory-byn", danced a jig and then we all sat down and carried on as normal. (Great boozer, great beers, friendly staff)

I've been going to Port Street Beer House since it opened. It's one of the best pubs in the UK, never mind Manchester. Great beers, great atmosphere and all round brilliant in every way you'd want a pub to be. Do yourself a favour and go. You won't regret it!

Mate and i stopped in for a swift one on the way to old trafford (cricket!). We had 2 perfect pints of cask at a reasonable price so had to stay for a second and would have stayed all day if it wasn't for having to get to the cricket.

I knew this was a 'woke' pub because it's not full of total bellends.

I've only been once but I found it to be a great pub with a good choice of beers.

Great pub, although they always ask for a tip on the card machines which is a bit mad considering it is bar service. Tip for pouring a pint is a bit much.

Nowt better than a few pints here after a jaunt round tahn. Friendly staff, always busy with a good atmosphere, great for people watching out front on one of the 3 sunny days Manchester gets a year. Beer selection is ridiculously good, don't think I've ever had the same pint twice. Just for the information of people who use the word "woke" as a derogatory statement, there's a pub less than 50 yards where you can get yer standard piss water from. 😉

This pub is absolutely first class. Located close to the centre of town but far enough away to avoid the humdrum of Piccadilly and Stephenson Square. The staff are really friendly and this is reflected in the clientele which is varied and welcoming. The cask ale is really looked after and has seven regularly changing lines which showcase a huge range of regional breweries and returning favourites. There are also frequent take overs from smaller Manchester breweries which support the booming beer scene in the city. The keg offering is also extensive with domestic and import beers on offer. Food is largely bar snacks which includes crisps, nuts, sausage rolls and pork and cheese and onion pies. There is plenty of outdoor seating (street side at the front, alley side at the back complete with electric heaters). Upstairs there is a spacious indoor seating area where events like quizzes and board game socials are held. Top pub, great beer, no further questions.

I love it here. I don’t live in Manchester but if I’m planning a visit I have to find a way to include it in my trip. The selection of beer is amazing, the staff are lovely and it’s just a wonderful place to be!

Great little pub, relaxed atmosphere, welcoming staff who are happy to let you ‘try before you buy’, and dog friendly too! Cask beer is always in great condition, and an ever changing variety. It might be slightly more expensive than others, but the variety and condition means it’s worth it, just keep an eye on the APV as there can be a few sneaky high percentage ones in the mix!

Popped in for a post-work pint, the lady behind the bar said before I can be served she needs to know who I voted for in the General Election. After telling her it wasn't her business to know she said 'you must be a Tory' before making me leave the pub. Unfortunately this appears to be a 'woke' establishment. Will not be back.

Absolutely love this pub. It has the best selection of beers, snacks and a fantastic atmosphere. Beer garden out the back and tables and benches out the front. Staff are not only knowledgeable but they are extremely friendly. I go here as often as I can. Cannot rate it high enough!!!!

We love PSBH and we always try to visit when we're in Manchester. Great vibes, fantastic beer selection and friendly staff. Many drunken nights have ended up here and I cannot recommend them enough. Just be careful on those stairs!

I visited recently as my sister and I were in Manchester for a few days. Port Street is a quintessential beautiful craft beer pub. It was moments away from where we were staying and over 3 nights visited many times.. Reasonably priced (for someone living in London), with a great selection of beers. Service was second to none with a great chat at the bar, and bartenders that remembered our round... I can't fault this place.. .
