Incredible food, a hidden gem. I would recommend. A very wide selection of meats and it was very tasty. I went with a large group and we all left with good things to say about the food quality and taste.

Nice place a little hidden. The food is good, American diner type. Prices not very high. The service was slow, there was probably a mishap with our order, as an apology they offered us some beers.

My wife has been here a few times and always enjoyed the food, so we decided to eat here on Monday as we were passing by on our way home. I got the "Bacon Royale" burger which was excellent. Meat cooked nicely. Thin and crispy at the edges but also still juicy. Had a really lovely taste (although maybe a bit too much pepper in my opinion?) The brioche bun was really nice and soft and went perfectly with the meat. Definitely one of the better smash burgers I've had recently and I would happily have it again! I got the Mac & Cheese as my side and this was amazing. Was a big portion for a side (not complaining!), and it was really cheesy with a crusty top and a lovely taste. Their fries are fine but nothing special, but I highly recommend getting the mac & cheese! I'm giving this review an excellent rating based on the food, however there were also some issues: 1) My wife ordered the same burger as me, but without the bacon jam. When the food arrived, the person who gave it to us asked who wasn't having the sauce and the plates were put down on the table. However, we quickly realised that neither of the burgers had the bacon jam in! I went to ask if I could get a pot of bacon jam to add to my burger and was told that they didn't have any left. This was the main reason for me choosing the royale burger, so it would have been nice to have been told in advance if they had run out of an ingredient for the item I had ordered (and it made no sense when they put the burgers down on the table to say which one had sauce if neither of them had sauce!) 2) They have 2 menus, a regular menu and a "Pig out" menu. The "Pig out" menu is a deal for £13 which includes drink, main and side. I used this menu so that I could have the mac & cheese as my side. But my wife just wanted the bacon royale burger with fries (which on the normal menu is only £12.50 and comes with coleslaw) When we got the bill, they had charged us 2 x pig out £13 even though we both only drank tap water (which also explains why my wife never got her coleslaw). I questioned why they charged one of us £13 instead of £12.50 and they apologised and amended the bill, but I know as my wife has been here multiple times that they often charge the higher amount for the "Pig out" menu even if you order from the regular menu. In this case it was only 50p difference but based on what you order from the main menu you could end up paying £'s more. Their till system clearly needs to be updated to ensure that they don't charge more just because the person serving enters the wrong menu into the till, as it's not fair to customers to try and charge them more. Hopefully they will fix the overcharging issue, but I would still highly recommend the food here (especially the burgers and the mac & cheese)

Never send the items you order or simply don’t deliver your food at all and then blame it on you

Normally enjoy the food from porkys. However on this recent occasion, I ordered the meal as per normal, waited 2 hours, by the front door with sight of the door. I got a notification to say the food has been delivered, so I called. As soon as I mentioned my food has said its been delivered, I was told on the phone by staff, oh the driver knocked loads and rang you and you didn't answer. I hadn't even given my address, name or any info yet at this point, so that was odd. Then when I said I've been waiting here the whole time and my phone hasn't rang once, she said let me check. And then again reiterated the driver said you weren't there and rang you. Waited 2 hours for absolutely nothing and a pile of crap excuse to palm me off for my food. When absolutely no person ever attempted to deliver the food. Won't be coming back now, as the bull being thrown out has left a very bad taste. From a customer of over 30 times.

Been to this restaurant many many times and always felt welcomed, except for this time. Let's just say that (not to explain the whole situation) the "manager" shouldn't talk to people since clearly has no customer service skills. Other than that the staff was nice as usual to compensate.

Honestly, possibly the best food I've ever had 👌. Fairly priced, large portion sizes. Mac and cheese is incredible. Not had a disappointing meal yet.

Food is great and a lovely atmosphere

2 of us arrived, and asked if had a spare table for 2, they agreed and sat us down. Then took our drink order - 2 cokes, they arrived flat and didn’t taste like original Coca-Cola which would of been fine if they told us… next we could here 2 waiters arguing and one insisted he got the other to move us as a table of 9 had come in and needed the space, again this is fine, we moved. Sat on a dirty table in the corner with the last persons dirty napkins at the other side of the booth and on the floor and a half tub of gravy (I think) and they didn’t clean or tidy that up for the duration of the meal. We then placed our meal order and it arrived at our table in 4 minutes (far too quick) arrived luke warm, chips were cold and we never saw our waiter again. We didn’t eat it asked for the bill and card machine then left. Definitely will not be returning. Huge shame as we used to frequently come here when it first opened but it’s definitely gone way down hill since then. Don’t recommend

i have been a few times and the burgers are nice, this time I wanted to try a hot dog, I asked the guy if the dog was nice as I didn't want to be underwhelmed on arrival, he said yes they are really nice and good quality too. so I ordered. it was not nice at all, the hot dog was thin, poor quality and cold, the bun was cheap and the 'nacho' topping made the bun soggy and for an extra £3 or whatever I paid for the topping it was a few smashed up nachos and some cheap cheese sauce and blob of other toppings. i was very disappointed, I will never order the dog again, save yourself £12 and go to Ikea and get the double dog with nachos. The same guy asked me if everything was alright with the meal and I said no, it was not great at all like he said it would be, he didn't comment at all on that. i feel like the whole thing was a waste of money to be honest.

Me and my boyfriend visited Porkys on a busy Friday night for our dinners! Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was great, the waitresses were lovely and quick with drinks and food orders! My boyfriend had the Porterhouse 16oz steak, upgraded it to surf n turf and it was tremendous. Cooked to perfection (medium rare how he likes it), prawns were lovely and fresh, plenty sides to come with it too, definitely get your moneys worth! I had one of the Wood Fired Kebabs with southern fried chicken and WOW one of the best I’ve had in a long time! The flatbread it came in was super fresh and tasty, the house slaw is my favourite and couldn’t complain about the seasoned fries! We were too full for puddings but the dessert menu looked really delicious… we will definitely be coming back to try more!

Very large portions, don't go if you are vegetarian not much choice for you 😛

Visited many times with mates and have never been let down. Portion sizes are great value (they have a dessert menu but you probably won’t need it!). Milkshakes are excellent, and the feel of the place is cosy and comfortable. Parking can be a bit limited so leave time to find a space, but you won’t be disappointed.

Tried twice to order online and both times failed to acknowledge my order. Thought they must be busy so I’ll call instead, answered the phone, said I’d like to order for pick-up, abruptly said ‘two secs’ & immediately put me on hold - never came back to me after 3 mins, now the line is permanently busy. If you are too busy to take any more orders just say so, don’t mess your customers around. Shame because the food is always great.

Food average although good portions. Beware of £13 meal deal. Didn't have either of the pints available, were offered alternatives but not told we would be charged separately to the deal, an extra £11 for 2 pints, not a deal in the end! Won't return

1st here, food was excellent, staff were very friendly

We enjoyed our visit but a few things could have made it even better. First the negatives - We felt a bit rushed with our order. Customer service could be a bit bitter. The brisket was a bit tasteless and the milkshake lacking. No need for whipped off cream and sprinkles it just needed thicker consistency and perhaps option to be malted. The good - my wife had a great veggie burger and my smash burger was really nice! Kids menu great value. The place itself was nice and decor etc... Improvements - give the staff a branded black tee or jumper, they all had their own black tops. Improve the brisket flavour and milkshakes to be more authentic US.

It's got the vibe, the smokehouse smell is persistent yet authentic. Food was prepared timely and presented beautifully and was a treat to polish off.

Popped in for tea and we were amazed at the choice and price of the menu...the food was delicious I had loaded fries which were really nice but the waffle I had for pudding was the dogs ...maple syrup and raspberry 😋 will defo go back

I & my two Friends went here for a small Lunch/Brunch We ended up having the full Monty, we had Garlic Pizza & Chicken Breast /Ribeye steak with Chips and salad & a Pot of peppered Corn Sauce x 3 Then we all had a Fabulous Waffle with lots of Vanilla Ice cream & Nutella dusted with freeze dried Raspberries aaaw Heaven is not the word for it. The Girls & Ryan waiting Staff were very attentive & the Kitchen Chefs were fantastic everything was perfect We will be going Back Soon.

A return visit, again greeted on arrival seated immediately, drinks and food ordered, the food absolutely outstanding surf & turf cooked to perfection. The staff are amazing they ensure that your visit is amazing, the decor is still dated but the staff make up for it.

Fantastic food could not fault, freezing cold facilities though rather chilly probs should put the heating in timer before opening mind. Will be back again, hopefully it’s warmer next time 😂.

Visited last night with our son. The atmosphere was great. Really nice ambience, loved the country music. The booths were really comfortable and the whole place was clean. The staff were really attentive, polite and friendly. The drinks were spot on, best margarita I've had for a while! The food was epic!!!!!! We over ordered because we couldn't decide 😂 The chicken and waffle stack was really tasty, as were the ribs and brisket. We had boneless wings for a starter and the Korean BBQ sauce was just the right level of sweet, sour and heat! I had the surf and turf kebab which was massive! But really tasty. I could have eaten the home made slaw on its own, it was so moreish! Cannot wait to go back here again!!!! Just fell in love with the place!

Food here is so tasty and reasonably priced. I feel there are some improvements that could be made to increase the atmosphere, but I do like the addition of greenery inside the restaurant.

It's definitely worth a trip from Newcastle. Anything with meat is a fair shout, chicken especially. Make sure to take advantage of the "pig out menu." Frozen pint glasses are the cherry on the top. Once they ran out of them and it has ruined my week... please don't do that again. Thanks.

So we’re killing time driving around the NE coast into Blyth and come across Porky’s BBQ next to the Fat Butcher. Had to stop. First off, the place deffo has a US vibe if a little all over the place. Secondly it’s 3 degrees C outside and maybe 5 inside except for a roaring wood fire by the front door giving the atmosphere a smokey tinge. The young friendly servers were very eager to please and were very careful about my partner’s gluten intolerance. We had a glass of ‘coke’ (not sure what it was) and one of their Dr Pepper dupes, both were flat but we didn’t complain. We never quite understand why BBQ brisket is served ‘pulled’ rather than sliced in the UK? We think it’s because it’s much leaner. No pickles or onion ‘fixins’ is served either, but that’s OK. Our expectations were pretty low but the pulled pork was well-seasoned and wasn’t drowned in the usual sickly-sweet BBQ sauce. Rather good except for the almost complete absence of smoke. The jalapeño/manchego sausage was frankly quite badly overcooked and nary a green fleck of green chilli in sight, nor cheese which had melted out. It tasted like the sausages from a Tesco hot food bar which had sat out all day. You can see from the picture. However, the slaw was good and mustardy, the smash burger charred, well-constructed and quite satisfying. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. All in all, apart from the weird, long banger passing itself off as sausage, we had a satisfying BBQ meal a long way from our Texas home. The staff were lovely, the food much better than expected and very reasonable; a huge portion of meat. We would go again if in the area ever again, but it did make us miss our favourite TX sites!

Ordered Philly cheese burger and fries, was absolutely beautiful. The waitress was lovely and polite, and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. The seating arrangements tables, seats and layout is perfect thanks very much for a nice evening! 💗👍🏼😁 My only regret is I did not taking any photos but I'll make sure I do on my next visit!

Arrived early but was seated quickly, drinks served quickly as was the starters, bit of a long pause between starter and main course but not a big deal, the food was top class very tasty and plenty of it. The only thing that stood out was the decor was worn, and tired looking plus the parking was not good, that aside a very enjoyable experience we shall go back

Usually have Sunday lunch which is excellent but took friends during the week and we ordered burgers and Ribs. All delicious and everyone really enjoyed food asking when we will be coming back.

Terrible service won't be back first walked in was fine as usual then they started the fire that they couldn't start filled the place up with smoke couldn't even smell the food staff rushed my eyes are burning clothes stinking and not even a offer of discount and then to look back to see the waitress having a pint and food as well as the chef 16.40 12dec

We had a Friday afternoon lunch here. We had two delicious shakes along with the Royale bacon burger and Chicken Pork Stack, both yummy. The server Sade was polite and friendly. We'll be back!

Actually a lot better than the last time I was in

Really enjoyed eating here. Staff were efficient and friendly, with a great atmosphere. The menu is extensive, which makes me nervous as when a place tries to do a lot of variety quality can suffer. But I did not find this to be the case, within our party we had steak, mac and cheese, pizza and burgers. All were great and very reasonably priced. The bar was really well stacked for a variety of beer and cocktails. Will certainly be revisiting.

The service was really fast and friendly, the atmosphere and decor was pretty good too! The food looked delicious and the portion sizes were pretty big, however it didn't taste as nice as it looked! It was decent but didn't blow me or my family away and the coke was a bit flat! Worth a try but I'd personally not go back!

Pop in and order had to sat for over 45 mins for a pick up 3 Sunday dinners with all meat. £67 CAME TO.. well for that price it was expensive and food as not that good. Staff seem friendly and atmosphere was nice but will not be going back for sunday .

9/10 very good food, great customer service and lovely atmosphere! When we arrived it was very busy and we hadn’t booked in advance - despite that we were advised that a table would be free soon and there was seating for those waiting to be seated. Porkys was very busy but when we were seated in about 5 minutes we could talk and hear each other easily despite music and background noise. There was a long wait for the food to arrive but it was easily worth the wait. We got the meat platter with 8oz steak, flattened chicken breast and two types of pulled brisket. The steak was very good, the chicken was amazing and we enjoyed the BBQ brisket but our personal preference - we didn’t like the pork pulled brisket but it tasted nice. Lastly, we got the chicken wings and while I liked them my partner didn’t and the sauces we got (Jerk BBQ and Hot sauce) were underwhelming. Overall, very good and we are definitely coming back to try more. The customer service was really good - whenever we flagged someone down they stopped to help and were quick to fix slight miscommunications.

My girlfriends buffalo chicken burger was really spicy but she liked it. The slaw was very nice but was a bit sparce. Luckily I was able to have my girlfriends portion too! I asked for magic dusted fries but I'm pretty sure they were just the normal ones because my girlfriends were the same. They were fresh and well salted though. Definitely a place I'd visit again due to the extensive menu and decent pricing.

Vastly disappointed in porkys! We had driven 50 minuets with rumbling belly’s, excited to eat a Sunday dinner! We called just an hour before to check that a Sunday dinner would still be available. Upon arrival, the waiter (assuming the manager) was greatly unprofessional! After this we were told that Sunday dinners are not available! This caused huge upset to me and my family! Why lie and say that Sunday dinners are available when they simply are not?!? Wouldn’t recommend! Lying is not good! Telling the truth is free!

I was looking forward to this all week after 7 days at work, hoping for a Sunday dinner after work. We called the night before to book a table for 7pm, nice lady on the phone says yep thats all booked in for you. Google says the place is open until 9:30pm, and their website says 8pm on a Sunday so either way, it should have been fine. Get there today to be greeted by the manager scoffing at us "you booked for 7? We close at 7! I am not joking! The person who booked you in must have been drunk!" he begrudgingly sat us down and was pointing at us to the staff but we just left, felt so unwelcome and really ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening. If he wanted an early finish he could have at least called us and cancelled in advance. The food is always good, the sunday dinners are lovely but I don't think we will be back to this restaurant until it changes manager, this is not the first time he has made us feel unwelcome as soon as we walk in the door. Food at the Fish Quay branch is slightly lower quality but you are actually made to feel welcome by the staff.

Always made to feel very unwelcome by the manager who was working tonight, anytime we ring to book it seems a chore, tonight we arrived after booking yesterday, to be told "really? You booked? But we close at 7" despite website saying otherwise and having our booking taken the previous day, he then continued to say the staff member who took our booking most have been drunk. Honestly, it's really uninviting for the man who appears to be running the place and very unprofessional to both question the credibility of the customer and to say his own staff must have been drunk. It's such a shame as the food here is so good

I had the big blue with onion rings as a side the onion rings were very greasy and the big blue wasn’t very cheesy in its taste and to much caramelised onion it took three members of staff to serve me that while I listened to the “ chefs” swearing there heads off also it’s far too dark especially the entrance.

Having seen great reviews on Tripadvisor decided to check out Porky's The food was delicous. Some of the best wings I have ever had. Service was friendly and helpful. Country music isn't my thing but it was fine.

Visited on a warm very buisy evening. American diners are not usually my thing but loved this place! I had the pulled brisket with corn, slaw and chips, which was a huge portion, but I persevered and finished it. My companion had a pizza and chips and said it was the best she had had. Service was good but very slow and things were forgotten but it didnt detract from the experience. Would definitely return if I was in Blyth again.

Been meaning to leave a review for a few weeks now, finally getting round to it. We were visiting family over this way and we came here for a meal and all I can say is WOW. The service was quick and to the point and spot on, the food came out without hardly any waiting time. Quite easily one of the best burgers I have ever had, without a doubt. For the 6 of us, when the bill came I was pleasantly surprised with it for the quality of food for me and my fellow diners. When we visit them again we will definitely be back, or even if not I will be making this trip as the journey from Harrogate will be worth it. If you're in the area, you are lucky sods having this so close by :) Thanks again everyone!

Dyers dined out! Said plenty times before we would try and never got round to it. And now we have …… Absolutely bloody fantastic, makes you feel like you’re in America, food is outstanding and cooked to the highest of standards. We had the TomaPork, so juicy and tender, rind done to perfection to and naturally me being me if it’s a well cooked meat on the bone I have to get every last bit of it off with my razor teeth… Staff are lovely and you can see they all work well together and have respect for each other, 1000% out of this world the whole experience, we will definitely be back Thanks you Porkys

A bit of American grill experience. A break from a healthy diet.

This is the first time visiting Porkys today, what a great venue. It has a real American cowboy feel. The service was great everyone polite and friendly. The food was amazing the BBQ Pulled pork melted in my mouth it came with a side of sweet potatoes fries which were crispy and soft in the middle 😍. Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend 👌
