Pizza Royale in Northumberland

Went to the shop today and ordered double cheeseburger and fries. Cost 8.50, it was very nice and both freshly cooked while I waited. Staff were nice and polite.

Best pizza in Alnwick. It´s like a deep pan american style pizza with lot of cheese. Very tasty. Staff is very pleasent.

The pizza was very tasty, it's more like v deep pan/pizza pie as others have described it, good toppings & selection, not at all greasy, so long as you're not looking for a wood fired pizza base, I'd very much recommend! Service was good, nice friendly & efficient service.

We tried to get a meal at many restaurats in Alnwick but none could serve us for less than an hour wait. So we decided on a take-away pizza and landed up at Pizza Royale - and glad we did.` The pizzas are all made there and cooked as you wait - which isn't long. The toppings were generous and the dough was perfect. In fact one of the best pizzas that we have ever had.

Service was really quick ordering online, the pizza was ready when I arrived. The fillings were plentiful and tasty. However, the base was a bit unusual, almost like a brioche pie base, not for me, I'm sorry to say.

Absolutely stunning pizza I'm a local and wouldn't use the other takeaways in town now. Pizza is too die for not greasy always clean. Chips are beautiful nice little French fries ( nice an crispy)

If u like undercooked inch thick stodge pie, this is for u. Worst pizza had in years. Totally undercooked, not pizzas, terrible!

Unfortunately our experience tonight was rubbish. It's a cash only service at the counter which isn't the end of the world but in todays world a bit odd. The pizza ended up being a deep dish pie like thing which we did not order. I thought it would be good with the reviews being so great. On the up side if you like pizza cake this is the place for you 😉

Our favorite pizza take-away in Alnwick. We have been here so many times they almost know our specialy pizza by heart.

It’s clear the locals love this place with its bustling atmosphere and constant stream of folks who know the server on a first name basis. The bases are handmade and fresh. Cheese is generous and good mozzarella. The bases are deepdish, so would only appeal to folks who love a thick bready base to their pizza. It’s good pizza, definitely above average. Maybe a bit overrated by folks who rave quite liberally about it.

The pizzas that we ordered were delicious!! It was the best pizza that we have had in a long time! We would definitely order from here again!

Ordered and paid for a cheese and salami pizza and paid for anchovies! Congratulations on the most miserable pizza I have ever tasted! The anchovies were merely a paste type for flavouring and I could not find ONE in the whole pizza-AVOID

Bought garlic bread, it came cold and literally a bread roll with garlic sauce on, terrible food don’t recommend, go somewhere with actual garlic bread and not burnt pizza

We travel down from Aberdeenshire in the north of Scotland especially for these pizzas. We have loved these for 30+ years and they are always top notch. Great flavours, fresh ingredients and generous toppings make these the best pizzas ever. They half cook them so that we can take them home and enjoy over a few months from the freezer. Absolutely brilliant.

We always order from here when we can afford to and tonight, they went above and beyond and delivered to us in snowy/icy conditions. Thank you so much. Pizzas are very filling and tasty. Kids love them.

Paid 15 quid for a donner kebab and chips and a Chicken Wrap and chips. The Donner meat was cut too thick and had no flavour, so probably old, I did see containers up on top of a unit with kebab meat in it uncovered. the fries were tiny and overall the portion for the money was disgusting. The wrap had the chicken and the fries inside it and was also very small. complete waste of 15 quid in my opinion. I would not recommend this place for kebabs or wraps. Not for this kind of money. Also cash only which is ridiculous these days.

Surprisingly delicious pizzas! Can't speak to delivery but an in-store order takes about 10 minutes. Around £6 for an 8", £8 for a 10" etc etc.

Absolute filth ordered a bbq chicken pizza no chicken in site just cold slices of Asda smart price wafer chicken insult to all pizza shops

Pizza undercooked and wrong and cold, had mushrooms, pepperoni and peppers on that shouldn't have been. Onion was raw on the pizza too. Cheap chicken slices and ham also. Garlic bread was also cold and undercooked and not nice we cooked it again ourselves in the oven. Part of the bread on my burger was soggy as well like it had been dipped in water, I mean what the ****. Absolutely terrible would give this no stars if I could so thank you to Pizza Royale for ruining my wife's dinner and making her feel sick. I'm off out to buy my own pizza now and cook it myself. If you insist on buying food from here check your order before they disappear because there will be something wrong with it. To the Pizza Royal, just focus on what you're doing and get it right it's not difficult to take care when cooking people's food, I can understand if foods a bit cold when it gets here but the rest is avoidable and shows that you take no pride in your work and have no respect for your customers. Getting half your orders correct is not good enough! Sort yourselves out! I've never had to leave a review like this before.

Very tasty margarita. Bit sceptical as don't usually like deep pan but this was excellent and only £5.10 for a 10" pizza. Don't understand some of the recent negative reviews which nearly put us off. Cannot fault.

in the area for a week and on first night I didn't want to cook and if honest at random decided to try pizza from here. we were not left disappointed. pizza was spot on, really good. service was good too, all the guys there were very chatty and helpful.

Pizza Royale was my local growing up and I completely took it for granted. I live 40mins away now and it’s worth the drive to get one of their amazing pizzas. It’s all in the dough.. nothing like it anywhere else. Only downside is they aren’t open during the day on weekends, I would make the drive every week if they were 😂

Good food we order from here often, but tonight’s delivery was very late over an hour, and driver (new) seemed very angry with me that he’d had difficulty finding us, but we are on a main street.

I visited Alnwick with my friends, we had pizza last night. Tasty pizza and crispy dough base👍 . Highly recommend it to everyone

We tried Rosso’s while on holiday and overall it was ok. We had a couple of pizzas, kebab wrap and kids nuggets meal. The pizzas and nuggets were nice, much better than the other pizza shops here. However the kebab wrap was quite poor. Dry donner meat, no salad in the wrap, and they forgot to include the sauce which we had asked to be in a separate pot. That ended up in the bin, the rest was ok. Overall we’d probably use it again on our next trip but avoiding the kebab wrap.

Ordered chicken & mushroom pizza. The chicken turned out to be cheap luncheon slices hidden under a blanket of cheese. The sauce was ok but the base was deep pan which personally, I dislike. This was the least favourite pizza I have had ever. Surprised that this place has good reviews- maybe it’s better if you steer clear of chicken?

Really nice pizzas and always really cheesy but we received the wrong order. two vegetarian pizzas instead of one vegetarian & one Valencia which was a bit disappointing, but they were very nice.

Ordered delivery from the app at 5.45pm, waited until 7.15pm still no delivery, husband phoned & they cancelled our order an hour previous as had no deliver driver, said we had been notified, no we hadn't, no email, text or phone call .... never again!

Delicious, as always! Arrived super fast, the delivery driver was friendly and the food was piping hot. The pizza was delicious (loaded with cheese) and the chicken burger, wedges and garlic sauce were yummy!

Too much tomato purée, cheese slopped straight off the pizza, devastated and a waste of money wasn’t even the word, I bought 2 pizza’s never mind just one being bad

I live in Alnwick , never used them before but was attracted by delivery service during Covid .Delivery was fine , on time , order was correct ,but the pizza base was like a soggy pudding ,we threw most of it away . Back to cafe tirreno for me .

The food was lovely however the delivery was not. It had been marked as delivered when it had nit which meant I had to call to see what was happening to be told it’s a mistake it is on the way just wait? Turned up around 40 mins later.

Had a decent chicken fajita, maybes a little bit to much mushroom to pepper ratio but was still nice. Coleslaw has maybes gone down hill a bit not the same coleslaw that there known for!

We visited Pizza Royale for a takeaway during our week long stay at a lodge in Alnwick. Ordered via phone and was told it would be 20 minutes and it was just that. We ordered a 12” pizza, 8” garlic bread and kebab meat and everything was 10/10! The pizzas were like nothing we’ve had before, amazingly tasty deep dish crust and and toppings were spot on. Would love to visit again though it’s a shame we don’t live close enough! Also COVID-friendly and very personable staff.

Best pizza we've had in a long while much better than well known pizza delivery place. Dough was fresh and light and lots of toppings. Really enjoyed our pizzas and cheesy garlic bread.

Visited tonight 11th July..Order and stood to wait for our meal.Behind the counter with no protection were around 5 people.No social distancing.No Facemasks No hand washing seenNo gloves.No shield for collection or paymentSmall hand gel at the front of counter no one used while we were in The guy making the pizza never once wash his hands .Then........ up pulls a car with the nice delivery driver in. Out he hops, goes straight behind the counter and starts looking at order papers, he used no Sanitizer. Rubbed his head several times. Handling food boxes with no hand washing. Dropped a carrier bag on the floor, stood on it, then picked it up a put someone’s order in it... then got back in the car and sped off to feed some poor unsuspecting consumer food.Ours went straight in the bin!!!
