Excellent! Lovely hidden gem with polite staff and great food. I’m hoping to get a seat for their roast dinner.

Marvelous breakfast, fair prices too! Loved the decor inside. We will return when the weather cheers up so that we can eat outside.

My husband and I visited Poppy's today for the 3rd week in a row, unfortunately for us we seemed to be wearing our cloaks of invisibility. Although the lady performing the front of house duties managed to see everyone else, our presence wasn't acknowledged in any way. All we wanted to know was if there was room at the inn. After a few minutes of being invisible or was it ignored? We climbed back onto our donkeys and went elsewhere. Nibbles is only down the road and did a fantastic bacon and egg sandwich. :-) Our previous visits were dealt with efficiently even though the same lady is pushed for time both times. We can't fault the food, but we do think the lady serving needs some help, especially on a Friday or so it seems.

My husband and I popped in here on a Sunday morning, as we had driven past a number of times and had never been in, so we thought we would give it a try. We got a table - even though it was busy - and the coffee and food were both fresh and tasty. Great value for money and would definitely return.

Visited Poppys now for the second time (ist time just for a coffee with a mate) this time with same mate for lunchtime food, great menu to choose from, so we had Ham and Cheese Omelette with Chips and tea for two. Was offered salad which we declined. Massive Pot of Tea, i must say the Omelette was the best i have ever had, beautifully cooked and presented. Table service and very friendly Owner and Staff. Very clean and tables cleared immediately. on arrival you get greeted with a smile, nothings too much of a problem. There is seating outside the front, on this occasion it was raining so opted to a nice warm welcoming cafe. Highly recommend this establishment. Hope to visit real soon, Thank You to you all at Poppys

We went here for a late Saturday morning cooked breakfast and it was lovely, really tasty and everything hot. Bacon was particularly good, sausages good quality, eggs perfectly cooked, hot beans, tomatoes and mushrooms, and even the hashbrowns (not something I normally like) were tasty. Toast and better faultless and a lovely cup of coffee. Staff were friendly and efficient. Slight downside, a cup and spoon were dirty (dishwasher problem) but were immediately replaced with apologies.

We fancied a cooked breakfast but as vegetarians it's difficult to find a really good one! We phoned ahead to see if Poppies did vegetarian food and were pleased to find out that they do! We ordered the veggie breakfast (it wasn't on the menu though, so we were glad we asked!). It was really good. A nice size and came with toast too. We would definitely go back again.

We had a lovely Cream Tea today, we ate the sandwiches and salad for lunch in a NT park then had the scones, jam and cream when we got home! Delicious fresh sandwiches and huge scones! A bottle of Prosecco to finish it off. Recommended!!

Treated ourselves to a Sunday brunch. Good ingredients and all very hot which is an unusual luxury these days. Regular breakfasts, sausage sandwiches and a ham egg and chips. All very good. Even the tea came hot and stayed hot. Seems they have some special laws of physics locally which keeps food hotter.

A friend and I decided to visit Poppy's for a cream tea. When served we were given a pot of tea, and a scone with butter and jam. My friend asked for cream but was told they didn't have cream. We made the point it was advertised as a cream tea but got the same reply. The scone was yummers but it's not a cream tea. It's surely not too expensive to buy in a couple of containers of cream! Poppy's - you need to stop advertising this as a cream tea. Won't be ordering this again! Disappointing :-(

As a local I kept meaning to visit as we had heard good things. We decided to go for a nice breakfast one morning. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Firstly it was so hot in there it was so uncomfortable. We found the tables sticky and greasy. The wait for food was over 35 mins and I was shocked to see a lot of it was fried, the sausage tasted as if it had been deep fried.Even in cafes in London breakfasts are grilled these days. The days of a greasy fried breakfast are long gone I’m afraid. Sorry we expected more from this. I wouldn’t return. It’ll be Crookham village old post office from now on for as long as that lasts.

The cafe is nicely spaced out so you don’t feel like you can hear everything the next table are saying. The toilet was quite clean and tidy, but the floor in the cafe needed a wipe over. We visited around lunchtime on a weekend and there were 3 other tables occupied. The menu consisted of breakfast, sandwiches, paninis, side dishes and a kids menu. There is also a specials board and cakes. The kids portions were generous and nicely cooked. There are some vegetarian options, but they all included egg or cheese, there were no vegan options so I had to order a side salad, which was very fresh but was mostly rocket, which let it down.I’d certainly return for a coffee, or for the kids menu, but it would be nice to see more vegetarian and vegan options.

Poppy's is a lovely out of the way welcoming place. For what looks like a simple tea/coffee shop it's not and they offer a good range of foods. My Partner and I used to visit Poppy's fairly frequently when they first opened and everything including the variety of dishes was fabulous. The Customer Service was and still is good. I haven't been here in quite some time but visited recently with family for a light lunch. The table we chose was dirty as was the floor below. The menu choice has reduced. We placed our order but it took forever to arrive. A party of four that arrived after us received their food before us. The sausage sandwich was as nice as ever. The Standard Breakfast was just ok but the egg was overcooked and the portion size was small for the price. The Eggs Benedict was apparently not good - the sauce was not nice and eggs were overcooked. Why did I have to remind my waitress that we'd asked for tomato ketchup but it took a further 10 minutes to arrive!!? We have always asked my Grandaughter if she'd like to choose cake which she did (of course!). The size has greatly reduced but to price has not :-( Somewhat disappointed on this visit.

Out for a local walk today decided to pop in for a cold drink and have a sit down. We have been here on a few occasions before for lunch or coffee. I find the location of this café very strange, as it is only a small parade in an area of housing and not very attractive. I Notice that lately the car park has been retarmacked which is a bonus. The actual inside of the café still feels like a bland shop, rather than a cosy café. As soon as we entered today the warm air hit us - far to hot to sit ( air conditioning is needed to survive this hot spell) So we took the opportunity of sitting at a table outside.

We have been trying out the places by us to find the best fry up and came here. I booked a table as I knew it was going to be busy, drinks and food order taken quickly and no waiting to get seated. What I didn’t expect was it to take over 20 minutes for us to get the drinks order after watching the two other couples seated considerably after us get theirs first and for me to have to prompt a waitress. When they arrived it was only half the order of drinks and told us the coffee will be with us shortly. Ironically enough when the coffee turned up another five minutes later the waitress stated “didn’t have to wait too long then”. Which made us speechless. During the wait we were sat near the terrace doors which a few of the staff kept leaving open. Granted - if you’re taking food out it’s understandable. However a couple of them were empty handed and being lazy, the older waiter did make an effort to close it. The food turned arrived about 30 minutes after ordering and was really nice albeit not that warm and the whole delay on the drinks but a damper on it. To follow on from the door saga - whilst trying to eat the breakfast a specific waitress kept leaving the door open letting gusts of cold wind in making the food colder. After I got up for the third time to close it and my boyfriend told the girl to stop leaving it open it only stopped once I told the older waiter what kept happening. Safe to say for the price of the food, I would expect better service and the staff to have more common sense - so we won’t be returning!
