This place is great, food was fresh and delicious and they even had a high chair for our little one. Prices were reasonable, it was cash only which was the only annoying thing. They also had a separate kids menu with kid friendly favourites.

Hmm, a strange place. We stepped inside for a quick drink during a weekday morning visit. Once inside, neither the decor nor staff were inspiring. Dated, faded pictures on the wall. We cringed when one of the drinks was served with a filthy spoon and this had to be replaced but there was no apology, no shock from the staff, no care really. It summed the place up. If you leave a business in the care of unsupervised youngsters without effective customer training this is what you get. It's not impressive. No sooner had we stepped outside than we found a couple of other busy and delightful cafes, we will try them next time. Come on Poppy Fields, if you're using poppies as your decor theme, then get with it. Spend some money and get proper art, engage some local young talent, they'll do you proud. Your marketing strategy of leaving this cafe to fester is working.

5 adult family members all in need of a bite to eat and a drink. Cafe was empty and we had to sort out a suitable table to accommodate one of our family in a wheelchair. Waitress brought menu which had good choice of sandwiches and drinks (not on the cheap side!) I asked what was available gluten free, and was told that they had nothing at all, sweet or savoury which was gluten free. My family felt that they couldn't all eat and leave me hungry, so we all had a drink and went to another cafe. What a disappointment for such a large cafe to not be able to offer ANYTHING at all.

It's a real shame the outside of the building looks incredibly shabby. It must discourage people from entering because that is actually why we entered for that very reason: it wasn't busy. Food is good and the service is good but could be faster considering how quiet it was. However would still recommend if you want a cheap and cheerful lunch. Also what is it with every place selling 'Ice Water' bottled water round these parts??

Unassuming from the outside, and perhaps a little faded, but then, all the best breakfast cafes are. We’ve had a few full-English breakfasts in our time (an understatement), and this one did not disappoint, cooked freshly to order, we ate sausage, egg, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns and chose beans (the other option was tomatoes with a choice of tinned or fresh) and some of the best cooked fresh fried bread I’ve ever tasted. Lashings of toast on the side, although we did ask for extra, which was fresh, hot and tasty. The bacon was crisp but not over-cooked, the fried egg was perfect and the mushrooms tasted divine. With two full breakfasts, a speciality tea and an Americano coffee, the bill still came in under twenty quid. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area, am sure you won’t be disappointed! Sorry there are no photos, we couldn’t wait to tuck in!

Went in Poppy Fields on a couple of occasions, mostly for coffee, but we did have a scone with jam and cream, which was very nice, even tho the scone was slightly over done. while our service was very good, we noticed a middle aged couple get up and walk out, they had been sitting there for a fair while but none of the girls went to take their order, now this could have been because the couple changed tables, to where another couple had just left, and the girls didn't notice? nothing wrong with the cafe itself, or the food, just seems to be young girls running it, and they all seemed to be seeing to their own orders that they had taken, instead of someone taking the orders and others doing them, seems as if no one was in charge

My wife and I visited this establishment on a Sunday lunchtime. My wife ordered a jacket potato with cheese. This filling was ok although the potato skin was so hard she struggled to cut through it. However the big disappointment was my ham and cheese ploughman’s. It consisted of salad garnish, a pot of pickle (not Branston as detailed in the menu), soggy pickled onions, two thin slices of ham and the meanest piece of cheese which was about the size of my little finger. To rub it in there was a demi baguette and loads of butter! Far too much bread for the meagre quantity of meat and cheese. I enjoy a Ploughman’s and will often choose one when I’m eating out at lunchtime. Never have I had such a mean portion of cheese. In fact there is often too little bread. I have even been known to wrap leftovers in a napkin to take home ( Martha’s in Wales). The price was comparable with other establishments but the standard fell far short.

The tearoom, cafe STANK of fried food. I could feel it clinging to my hair and clothes. I ordered a scone and tea. The tea came and we waited for the scone to come when it did it was warm. I cut it in half and half again the first quarter was OK(ish) but I thought this is a bit stale but the second quarter was terrible as it cooled it became dry and the taste was very stale. I took the half back to the counter and told them it was stale. I asked if they have any fresh. The lady said she didn't she asked would I like cake instead I looked at the cake it looked equally old and dry. I said no thank you. The lady said she would give me my money back I went back to the table after about 5 minutes the lady came and slapped £1.20 on the table. I guessed that was for half the scone that I didn't eat. Not a pleasant experience. I won't be calling again. Thank you

At first glance this establishment might not seem very inviting. However I do recommend that you step inside and give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised. It has an extensive menu of snacks,m ain meals and afters. Accompanied by drinks. We had home made broccoli bake with chips and salad. The food was hot. While it was quiet when we first entered the café was full when we left with late holidaymakers and locals. Old fashioned, traditional café / restaurant serving (mostly) traditional British food.It was a hot day; we opted for salads, chicken and ham respectively. Can't grumble about portion size, freshness or value for money, both very good. However what was included in the salad, lacked finesse or modernity. The service was conducted by two ladies, the older one was affable and positive. The younger one gave the impression of being sullen and disinterested, perhaps she had just had some bad news that day.Not taking card payments is potentially awkward. Make sure you have sufficient cash in your pocket!Good place for no nonsense traditional food.

We had lunch in here about a year ago, and it was OK. Efficient, cheap and perfectly edible. But now (we discovered all too late) it's under new management.First, they have kept the dull and everso slightly depressing decor. The waitress was not a very cheerful individual, which in a holiday resort is a bit off, I feel. She may have had problems, who knows? The food. Oh dear. £9 for some slabs of iceberg lettuce, lumps (yes, lumps) of carrot, about 8 thick slices of onion, a quartered tomato, some wedges of celery and some cucumber with the skin still on. It was like going back to 1973. Some prawns, and the crusty roll (no choice, just white) I suspect of being one of those long life, half baked jobs. My husband had haddock and chips, which looked terrible, a fact that he confirmed. I will say one thing. The salad was served at a nice temperature. I hate salad that is just out of the fridge. I imagine this was more luck than judgement.

We weren't disappointed, they were lovely - lots of gooey cheese and good quality ham - all nicely toasted but not overdone - lovely and soft. There was a bit of a wait for them - I think they could do with more staff in the kitchen to be a bit swifter. Great value though and tasty. We had takeaway cakes - choc orange and caramel apple which were delicious. My mum had carrot cake, but didn't eat it straightaway, and said it was a bit hard. Having walked past this little cafe on my way down to the seafront many times on my numerous visits to Sheringham and the surrounding area, I decided to give it a go & I'm glad to say I wasn't disappointed. Two members of our party opted for the homemade steak and kidney pudding with season vegetables or chips (I'm glad to say they ordered one of each which meant I could have a look at both options), one ordered cod, chips & peas, and I ordered plaice, new potatoes & peas (didn't fancy chips). Didn't wait too long for our food about 10 minutes and when it arrived I was pleasantly supprised. The portions were generous and the steak & kidney puddings looked huge & proved to be very tasty. My plaice was tasty, well-cooked & moist and the new potatoes were served with pats of butter to melt over them. The chips however I think were the oven variety and although hot, not a good as homemade. But as the whole meal for four people with drinks came to just under £40 I would say it was fairly good value for money.

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.

Sadly the food didn’t match the lovely welcoming service. Sunday lunch was expensive - £20 for a trio of roasts. The veg was odd - leeks and carrot with some very hard brocolli. Overcooked roast potatoes and parsnips. Potential to be a nice Sunday lunch but needs a fair bit of work. £20 is a lot for a toast but this place really cannot justify the price, sorry 😔

Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.
