Poppins in Ashford

Could not fault the service, cleanliness , food & prices. Alex as was the rest of the staff were superb and so Friendly made us feel very welcome, so helpful.

Let’s be clear about this the bacon and sausages are no different to what I’ve experienced at other cafes, I guess they all come from the same supplier however the cafe is clean, cheap n cheerful with incredibly fast service and a reasonable portion size. I’ve been here several times and I see no reason to change, people are not stupid that’s why it’s always packed

Took my brother here for a brunch I had popped in before and found the place extremely clean and service is second to none You know you will get the choice of seat and rhey know your in a hurry All staff polite and friendly a joy to visit This is the new place to meet with friends A smile a hello cost so little but means so much Thank you all your doing a great job great team x

I like this place. Very old fashioned like an old wimpy or something similar but it adds to the character. Staff here are always very on the ball and welcoming. I've eaten many times here and only once had a bland meal(we all have off days though lol). Thanks guys.

Such a lovely restaurant, you always get a warm welcome, brilliant waiter service, the food comes out hot , (not just warm like some places) I would highly recommend this place , also a real good latte,, thanks

First time I’ve visited this place and I was soo glad I did and cannot wait to return. I was immediately seated with a pleasant waiter. The food arrived swiftly and was hot and fresh. The egg was super fresh and very tasty. The bacon was cooked just perfectly and had such decent flavour. I absolutely loved the experience and the food was just delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection! Both me and my daughter enjoyed the visit.

For a start , this has the best staff going, good ,fast ,& friendly , always a nice welcoming, good food , eat in or out, no problem, really worth a ‘poppinn’

I’ll start by saying that the food was great! However, the decor is a bit dated, but not so bad that you can’t enjoy your meal, they’ve tried to socially distance the tables but it is a little off putting when people are allowed to sit at the hand washing table because they don’t want to walk further into the cafe

Visiting relatives in the area and decided to use Poppins when in Ashford shopping on 26.09.2020. However disappointed to be served by staff whose facial coverings were around their chin. When told that I was uncomfortable with this the response was "Oh you want me to wear it". When the food arrived again face covering was on chin, when challenged she said that she had asthma (no mention of this initially and the other waitress was the same covering down at neck/chin). Also noted that sauce bottles were communal/shared by various tables and not sanitised in between. The food was good and warranted a 5 star rating for the type of cafe that this is so the lack of compliance with what is not merely advisory but actually mandatory during this time is disappointing. I will not be returning.

I had my first experience of poppins today. Nice establishment. Staff were friendly although ordering seemed a little tricky. Ordered the food which was written down by staff member then had her reproach 5 minutes later to take down the codes for the meals in order to process. At the end of paying had to tell the whole order again to pay. Food was ok. It was fairly priced. Steak wasn’t cooked to what I asked. Portions were generous. Drinks where nice & pudding was great. The restaurant setup for the social distancing measures was done rather well. Overall experience ok. Would try something more off the menu.

We were staying in Ashford on a 2 night break for a funeral & missed breakfast in our digs on the first morning, so went into town & found Poppins, so we decided to give it a go. We were very impressed with politeness of the staff, the quality of the food & the cleanliness of the restaurant. Also, I know a lot of cafe's will not accept card payments, but this one does. One happy payer & his wife

I had a very nice lunch here in this spotless cafe. The service was swift and polite and welcoming so a woman on her own can feel comfortable. Couldn’t have been better. Thank you.

Wonderful staff and service. Greeted at the door and seated, cozy decorations and lovely food. Great attitude of all the staff and amazing prices.

Food was nice spanish omelette very good. Breakfast was also nice. Staff very friendly and cafe very clean. One minus point. Please put some heating on. Everyone eating wearing a coat. In conclusion all very nice but will not return as its freezing inside

Every single member of staff at Poppins was very friendly and welcoming. The food is well priced, comes as large portions, was freshly cooked and arrived quickly. It tasted lovely and was enjoyed by all. There was a large variety of options on the menu which meant that there was something for everyone. The restaurant was clean and tidy. Overall a great experience; will definitely be coming back again!

our first visit, the place was packed but managed to find a table (not yet cleared away). The waiters were so busy and fast moving, they deserve a wage increase for the effort they do. We ordered egg, bacon & chips (£4.50) tea & a strawberry milkshake. Good amount of chips & all were very good. Tea was very good as was the milk shake. The only downside was the noise.

Lovely staff and the food was quite plenty on the plate, had to take a doggie bag, I certainly would recommend for a cheap and wholesome meal

An absolutely fantastic cafe with a huge menu of just about everything you could expect from such an establishment.

Hubby and I took our 2 year old grandson here. Excellent food all round. They are friendly and very helpful. Only downside it can be cold in here at times. They need tk put some heating on.

We needed a quick snack and they filled the bill. Very good quality food and service. The place is always clean and tidy and nothing is too much. Prices are very good.

I chose plaice and was pleased to have the choice to have it with a baked potato instead of chips. Sadly they didn't do mushy peas. It was very nice. My husband enjoyed his pie and chips.

Yet another lovely breakfast in Poppins. Hot and freshly cooked, lovely waitress who we remembered from another cafe she worked at. Our fav place to eat in Ashford. 💕

Want a change while shopping we usually go to Muffin Break , we decided to go to Poppins , we both had a baguette &Latte; really nice and not bad price , will hopefully be back next time we are in Ashford

Been here lots since it recently opened. A huge menu from jkt pots, breakfasts, salads, omelettes, curry, lasagne, plus lots of puds. Never had a bad meal here. You get good portions,always freshly cooked and hot. Staff very nice and friendly. Again, the only negative is having the front opened right up, people smoking outside, so even up at the far end you can smell it, but other than that I love it. Our number one place to eat in Ashford.

Called in during a shopping trip with my Wife & Grand Daughter, good service pleasant decor, nice food and drinks well presented and fairly priced.

This Poppins Restaurant opened very recently and I’ve visited twice now. It’s a lovely clean place. Spotless tables and very nice staff. Food is good and there is a wide range of food on offer from breakfast type meals to jacket potatoes to sweet treats. Decent cuppa too. Prices are very reasonable and we enjoyed the bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes meal last time for £3.40 each. Previously a decent cheese jacket potato. You are not rushed and staff check that you do have everything you need and are very courteous. Our only negative is that the front doors slide right back to leave a wide exposed front entrance to the restaurant which is nice in summer. However, there are tables just outside and when the doors are pulled right back so there is no divider between inside and outside seating, you are affected by the smokers sitting on the outside tables and both times we opted to move further back to other tables. I would still definitely recommend Poppins in Ashford town.
