We went in to Popina’s for a late breakfast. Having looked around for a nice place for a while, we were ready to have a sit down and were pretty hungry. The staff did not have much about them and sat us at a table without explaining to order online. When we asked, the waitress just pointed at the table. It was not a very straightforward order system but got there in the end. 2 avocado toast with scrambled egg and 1 flat white. Having looked at the menu on the wall, the avocado toast was £11.99 and then a side order of eggs we thought was £3 (this was per egg) the total bill came to £51.90. We had to get salt and pepper from another table and had to get up to ask for water, there was just no eye contact or friendliness. My husband placed the order and after seeing the price, didn’t tell me as I would’ve told him to leave it. I questioned the bill afterwards as there was £5 unaccounted for but this was a service charge which we had to pay. Well I would say avoid this place. Even tho the food was lovely, the experience and the price left me with a bad taste.

Very expensive for what you get, £14 for eggs Benedict, 2 poached eggs on 1 piece of sourdough toast. £6 for a small glass of orange juice. Definately not worth the price, total for the brunch was £50 and that included a service charge that was automatically applied. Would not recommend this place unless you like overpriced food / drinks

We stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor Square across the street and Popina was our go to breakfast location. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We enjoyed porridge, french toast and a variety of coffee drinks and all were excellent and served quickly.

Visited in passing with my husband and two children the cafe was small so I didn't think we would be seated but the waiter was more than accommodating pushing 2 tables together for us. The menu was amazing I could have eaten anything and lots of French toast flavours for the children. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful even with it being so busy and service and smiles were not lacking!

Waited in a queue outside in freezing conditions for over 1 and half hours. Eventually a space for 2 became available and we were invited in. On entry we were then told that the kitchen was too busy and we would have to go back outside and rejoin the queue. I commented that this was not ideal and was told ‘well no one is asking you to be in a queue’ to eat here !! I was totally dumbfounded at such an answer from the manager/staff, so we left and will not return.

Bad service. Very slow. Very expensive for brunch or breakfast. 40 minutes to get a french toast with avocado is too much. Narrow place. Barely can have a place to set. Definitely bad choice for having breakfast or eat at all.

French toast was made out of stale (hard) brioche. The egg had not penetrated in the brioche at all, just some burnt egg scrapings on the edge. I left almost all of it in the plate. None of the staff even thought to ask me what was wrong. The berry compote that came with the french toast was too sour and not sweet enough and this was not balanced by the very small amount of maple syrup offered with the dish. Coffee was mediocre. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Good food, good service and great coffee! Nice little spot about a 6 minute walk from the JW Marriott. I was craving a traditional English breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. My wife got the eggs Benedict which she also enjoyed. My favorite part was their flat white coffee!

Not sure what the poor reviews are about - I have eaten here almost a dozen times (whenever I frequent London from Canada) and have yet to have a bad meal or experience after working my way through every egg and breakfast dish on the menu. Great coffee, both the red and green shakshuka are incredible (as is the bread they serve with most their meals), wonderful hollandaise and super delicious meat additions for any of the dishes. Wonderful, friendly, and accommodating staff - a total gem of a spot, just wish they had a rest room or I would hang around longer!

I loved this place recommended by my daughter who had been there before. I had a breakfast type food Green Shakshuka. Spinach and poached eggs with raclette cheese melted on top. It was so awesome baked in a small caste iron pan. Loved the fresh mint in the water pitcher too! Would highly recommend. Such a lovely family run business. They even put out a cook book from the wife’s famous baking. Can’t wait to return.

Because of bad planning on my part I ended up killing 2 hours here one Saturday morning - the only place open seemingly for ages, despite the proximity to Oxford St. The food and coffee were fab. I had granola and it was enormous. It was a bit hard in there - rock solid stools. Not the kind of place to unwind or chat.

This place is so too tiny and pokey. Felt like i was being watched by those to my right the whole time. Horrible feeling especially while eating. So off putting. The tables and Chairs are terrible and super uncomfortable. No backs to hard wooden seats . It’s as though they don’t really want any’ eat ins’ and the set up is to encourage you to grab food and leave. Weird. Also £4 for a tiny skimpy helping of bacon? Bit of a rip off. Eggs were pretty standard. Kid loved the french toast though! Probably won’t be back. Shame as halal breakfasts are hard to come by

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
