Avoid this place. We went for parantas, expecting freshly made hot ones. They were hard and stale, warmed up in the microwave. We asked for butter and received the miniature ones you get in hotels with breakfast. The Ras Malai had gone off. We highlighted this and got no apology. We received no bill, just a verbal quote. I questioned this as it was high considering the small amount of food we had. They charged us £3.60 for the miniature butters! When we questioned it, the staff were arrogant and rude. We left, vowing never to return.

Altamente recomendado.

'Poornima' is one of my locals, and I often use it for a takeaway when we've got unexpected guests. Whether you want meat (kebabs, lamb and chicken dishes), vegetarian (tadka daal, saag paneer), breads (parathas especially), or sweets (wide variety of barfi, ladoo etc), the quality is good and the taste home-made. The prices are very reasonable, and the decor / atmosphere basic rather than plush, but if it's authenticity you want, look no further.

Was looking for tasty Indian food in Southall, preferably at honest prices. Decided to give this place a try after reading another review on Tripadvisor- I'm glad we did! The food was not only tasty, it was AUTHENTIC Indian cuisine. The interior is very simple (but not "cheap"), but the real magic is in the food.. the Chana Bhatura we had gets 9.5/10 (the Bhatura itself gets 10/10- this is EXACTLY what a Bhatura is supposed to look, taste and feel like).. Ajay and his parents own and run the business.. Ajay was exceedingly cordial and provided outstanding suggestions and service- the kind that can be provided only when the owner of the restaurant serves his customers himself...If you are into sweets like I am, do try the Motichoor Ladoo (10/10) and Boondi Ladoo (10/10)- they can be described in two words: "sinfully delicious"..Thank you for a wonderful lunch, Ajay- we will DEFINITELY be back!!!Cheers!

Top place. It's not the sort of place to travel a long way to have a "romantic" evening but if you are in the area and want excellent food and good service this is the place. The one star reviewers of this place must be the competition or they reviewed the wrong place. All this whilst he speedily served his friend within minutes. southhall has over 100 plus restaurants and we honestly went by Tripadvisor's recommendation which suggested it was no 3, but honestly we do not think we made the right decision. we ordered paratha and sag, aloo mirchi, karela. in front of us ,(This is a small takeway type restaurant), while the waiter was giving us karela's the owner came along and told the waiter that the karela's are expensive and reduced our potion size which was very embarrassing. just imagine a situation where you are paying money for a food you like and people is a very curt way reduce your potion size is front of you.The aloo Mirch we ordered was cold and literally a waste. saag and parathas were okay but honestly there were so many good restaurants in southall that we felt it was a mistake that we came here. The plates on which we were served was also not very clean. So to sum up:- It's a cheap Indian Takeway restaurant but will strongly recommend to try others around the corner. Being a british asian and eating in so called north indian restaurants i have grown accustomed to being disappointed but finding this gem of a place what is surrounded by many mediocre so called authentic Desi indian restaurants is a godsend. The food is real and consistent and the quality is very good. I have been eating at this restaurant on and off for about 2 months. Each dish i have had from the menu for mains and to short orders i've never been disappointed. I have worked as a chef on and off for 5 years now and i am a fine artist and i can be quite particular about where i eat. They produce their food in small batches to keep quality high and to maintain a fresh taste. The depth of taste is epic. The indian sweets have the taste of punjab. Portion control is great I have brought friends and family to eat at this restaurant normally i wouldn't bring my friends and family to restaurants in Southall because there will be many aspects off the food i would be disappointed with .I normally feel like i've been ripped off at other restaurants. But i am happy to see a family run restaurant keeping up the cultural traditions of north indian cuisine. To say the food excellent and real is a understatement .Sukhbinder Singh Sidhu

Brought some friends back to this place after a really nice meal here. This is a family-run restaurant that cooks fresh, authentic and delicious Punjabi food. The young manager - AJ? - really knows his stuff and is extremely attentive, welcoming and very hospitable, Others here have commented on the decor and although basic, it's bright, functional, clean and homely - I'd much rather eat here than some soulless, modern restaurant with no customers and dis-interested waiters. The food is superb, everything is prepared fresh and food can be tailored to your own liking. I've never been a fan of Indian sweets, but the complimentary ones given at the end of our meal have almost converted me. This place has a great atmosphere, you'll see locals coming in off the high street to purchase sweets or just stop by for a chat over a cup of chai. Again, it has a very homely and entertaining atmosphere and it reminds me of having home-cooked food around friend's houses when I was growing up. The staff and management are a credit to this place and the owner and we will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Just got home from my first visit to Poornima. Wanted an authentic curry and found this place on tripadvisor with good ratings. In fact we were going to try another place but this one was easier to get to from out of town - so glad as things turned out! Didn't look up to much when we arrived - it's got very basic decor and looks more like a takeaway, but food was truly delicious - everything tasted really fresh and great flavours. Way better than other places we've tried before in the area. The thing that really topped it off though was the service - genuine, welcoming, attentive - it's a family run place and you almost felt like a guest in someone's home rather than a customer in a restaurant. Felt like we'd been going there for years! Please give this place a go - I don't think you'll be disappointed!

The food in this place is amazing. It's home cooked, very fresh and massive on taste. Each dish had it's own unique flavour and prepared on the spot. Enjoyed it immensely. Also the home made sweets are a delight. Thanks AJ for a great evening. We will be regulars.

I have been to Poornima many times and have never been disappointed. Delicious, mouth-watering food. Have tried many things here - Kadi Chawal, Saag and Makki roti, Chicken Curry, Methi/Gobhi/Mooli Paranthas are my favourites... reminds me of Delhi Food!!!Another must have is there masala ice cream and kulfi falooda.... yummmmmm!!!!A.J is very sweet, really knows how to take care of his customers. I would recommend this place to anyone who misses the "home like" food here in London

The food was delicious and all of the curries we had was not sitting in oil like you get in some british indian restaurants. The chef's made sure their base curry was cooked to above average perfectio

Disgusting is just one way to desribe it. Unidentified red sauce with dry-as-wood-chicken is not even in sight of a chicken tikka masala. No herbs, no taste, consistency close to a chewing gum. Only

A very nice evening. The food was good, the beer and wine were good, and the service was nice and friendly. So nothing at all to moan about. We read about small portions and expensive but not at all.
