We stayed for a single night in the family suite on our way from London to the Highlands. We were greeted by a wonderfully kind and accommodating staff who looked after us incredibly well. Several days after leaving the inn, I realised I had misplaced my engagement ring. I reached out to management and their immediate action and honesty led to the return of my ring in a very timely manner. I was very touched by their efforts to help me. We ate well, slept well, and we left feeling recharged to continue on our road trip. I will never forget the kindness and honesty of this team. Thank you all.

We were met with a lovely greeting, warm atmosphere and delicious food. The staff in particular a lady called Mel and Carl and young man who sadly didn't get to know his name provided great customer care and service. This is the first time we've visited but certainly won't be the last. Many thanks for an enjoyable afternoon.

Good food but that’s about it. Staff took order and then went discussing New Years Eve tables with other staff for around 5 minutes , then remembered she had my order in her hand. Painful to watch your order held in someone’s hand just because they want to join in a staff discussion. In my opinion customers come first Pump label on pumps on the bar for beer they don’t sell anymore. Got to say the food was good again, but soup was supposed to come with a warm Ciabatta, but got a slice a farmhouse loaf No salt and pepper condiments on the table - what’s that about- just a wooden box that holds sachets of sauces and salt and pepper , pretty poor IMO

Putting this on here for any ceoliacs to make sure they ask that the things marked Gluten Free on the menu are gluten free 🙄 I ordered the chicken kebab, which was labelled GFA (gluten free available). I checked that the chips were made in a different fryer, told the waitress it was ceoliac / allergy, so all good. No one asked if we wanted to order dessert, so I tried to wave someone over. The first person is saw gave me direct eye contact so I waved at him and then he walked in the opposite direction. So I asked an older waiter who brushed me off twice during our visit. We finally got our original waitress. I ordered the ice cream Sunday that was marked GF (gluten free) and it came out with an obviously not-gf biscuit wafer in it. I told the waiter to see if it was gf, so he took it back to the kitchen and just took the wafer out and handed back to me. I could see the line where the wafer had sat. I tried to call over the manager but the original waitress came over took the large sunday and came back with a much smaller one which was missing half of the original ingredients that she told me (and it was obvious) that she just quickly plopped together. She told me I should have told her I needed gluten-free (which I had told her I had ceoliac when I ordered my main).. basically blaming me for something labelled gluten-free not coming out as gluten-free.. to which I said the menu says its gluten free so it should come out gluten-free without needing to request it. I later asked for the manager, and they sent me to this woman who said she had already talked to the kitchen, that the kitchen was wrong (as was what the waitress said to me). I emphasised it wasn't just the kitchen she needed to talk to but also the waitress who blamed me for them not giving me something gluten free (when it was labelled gf) and the daft kid who though it was safe and OK to just pull the wafer out , which leaves the Sunday contaminated with an allergen. She applologised. Didn't offer a refund for the Sunday, although I did say i wasn't asking for one but was saying this as more of a wtf for any future ceoliacs that visit because... wtf was that. Three stars instead of one because the food tasted good and the woman apologised for the fiasco of service. But still.. wtf.

First time visiting this restaurant and I was very pleased. Food was nice and had a wide variety to choose from, whether that be sandwiches or hearty meals, they supplied the lot. Staff were really pleasant and kind, sounds like the foundations but it's not always the case. We all had sandwiches and they were really nice and filling, can't comment on the taste of other foods but they looked lovely on other tables and coming out from the kitchen. Really pleased all round and would highly recommend.

While staying at the Leeming House Hotel with friends we decided to dine at the Pooley Bridge Inn on the second night of our stay. We were all impressed on arrival at Poiley Bridge by the lights on display outside the restuarent and the ambience of the restuarent itself visible from outside. This is a large restuarent but there is plenty of parking available. We arrived a little early and our table was not ready however a drinks order was taken and we had a small round table at the end if the bar for 10 minutes until our table was ready. Food orders were taken and served in good time. There was a great atmosphere and the servers added to this with their good humour. The food was great and we all really enjoyed the experience

The pub has a good atmosphere and was busy. The initial service was good but then they didn’t take our order for a long time. The starters were excellent. Had a bit of a wait for the main course and while the pizza was then very good, the chicken burger and fries were over cooked and seemed to have under the heat lights a long time so even the coleslaw was very warm! Shame as the service was good and very friendly. I would eat here again but it is very much bulk food service like you would expect at a Brewers Fayre or similar.

The Pooley Bridge Inn is a fantastic, cosy, and welcoming pub that’s perfect for a relaxed meal or drink. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a day out. Their selection of food and drinks is excellent, with a great variety to suit all tastes. Whether you're after traditional pub grub or something a bit more refined, the quality is consistently brilliant. Plus, they warmly welcome dogs, which makes it a great stop for those exploring the area with their furry companions. Highly recommend this gem of a pub!

Didn’t stay in a room. Was told on numerous times it was table service but there was no one to serve these tables we tried to order 3 times. One with the person who gave us menu, one at bar and one with the person bringing the food out non took our order. After 20 mins of trying to order the bar girl finally took our order and we paid up front. I think she finally realise how embarrassing it all was. She did however keep a page up showing a tip on card machine again I was awkward and tipped 10% 🙈oh my I really don’t know why, I just felt so awkward with her watching. It wasn’t even busy and we waited for a very long time for food. 4 people think managers as not in uniform but in shirts came through restaurant via the back door and went behind bar and into the back laughing amongst themselves no acknowledgement anything other than them. Food then came out 30 mins later cold and dry like it been sitting on the side and forgotten. I ordered pie and fish and chips. The fish was the only thing hot and everything was warm at best. I couldn’t be bothered to mention it. May had done if someone came to table to ask. Wanted another drink but just left it’s It was very quiet, the atmosphere was disjointed and awkward and didn’t help no music was playing. We just left in the end with no goodbye won’t be back will go over the road for rest of week.

I cannot speak for the rooms, as I did not board. My other half and I went to the Pooley Bridge Inn for a couple of pints and some dinner. We couldn't decide on what to eat, but Lewis pointed us in the direction of the steak and ale pie, with chips (not mash). It was delicious, so we asked for the dessert menu. We then couldn't decide whether to have the seasonal crumble or the sticky toffee pudding, so we asked our trusted Lewis what he recommended. We both opted for the sticky toffee pudding, one with ice cream, one with custard. We both licked the plate clean and barely managed to waddle to the bus stop. Would highly recommend!

Excellent choice for food. Good selection of drinks. Mind - you must book! We were seated near the door and there was a constant flow of people being turned away. It was packed. (Late September, not exactly peak season) Burgers - delicious, we sampled the hunters chicken burger for a change, very tasty and proper thick chips. Sea Bass - excellent. This was actually a special on the menu. It was cooked in a parcel with an array of vegetables, capers, artichokes etc. and steamed. A bit more expensive, but very delicious. I would say though, if you are starving, this might not be for you. How about trying the pie, made on the premises. Or, the fish and chips that came out looked amazing. (More like a whale) Not hungry? Sit in the substantial beer garden and watch the world go by.

Visited today for a roast dinner the staff were helpful and inviting but the quality and quantity of the food was shocking and not what you'd expect to recieve in a lovely little village pub. It came and was just warm, meat tasted cheap, roasties and parsnip were hard, powdered smash, yorkshire pudding dry, gravy flavourless and nothing tender about the broccoli.. Some carrots would of been good(more veg) I'm sorry to roast you but someone needs a decent roast this Sunday.. We left dissapointed and still hungry, we won't be returning.

We popped in here this Sunday for food, while the staff were really nice and attentive. The food wasn't great. The Sunday roast, looked the business but unfortunately tasted very bland, arrived and wasn't cold but wasn't warm. The roasts tasted like the old school frozen kind and hard to cut through, I got half a carrot, half a parsnip, what tasted like smash for Mash and a yorkshire pudding that was 2 minutes from being completely burnt. Although the red cabbage was lovely I must add. The meat wasn't great I had beef and it tasted like the really cheap thin sliced stuff and way over cooked. I get the feeling this place is busy and alot of the food is precooked or plated to give a quick service. We had been on a long hike, we had a 3 hr drive home ahead of us so we ate and left but unfortunately we won't be returning.

Won’t be coming back here. We booked to watch the football and to have drinks for the rest of the evening. At 7pm the waitress came over and asked us if we can move to another identical table (with little to no view of the tv), all of the tables were the same style we asked if they could just sit at the table a couple across as they were spare and the group coming in weren’t there to watch the football, the staff did not want to ask if the party minded just being put at the other table, they just wanted us to move. After us all having food and drinks since 4:30 we had spent a considerable amount of money at the pub. They weren’t interested in keeping us happy as this other party has “been here before” it’s our 10th year coming to this pub during the summer whilst camping and it will be our last, from the narrow minded staff who just told us to shift at 7…. (No work around to please us, we’re just a bunch of lads and treat like cattle) We left as soon as the final penalty was scored and enjoyed the rest of our night.

We took our son for lunch today, ordered chicken nuggets and chips from the kids menu- £12. The meal came with chicken nuggets over cooked and dry. The chips were inedible, looked and tasted like they'd been fried over and over, no potato left in them just greasy sheels. My son wouldn't touch it, we asked for the fries to be replaced for a fresh portion which they were. The 2nd fries were exactly as the first. Absolutely horrible. Really disappointed.
