I cannot speak for the rooms, as I did not board. My other half and I went to the Pooley Bridge Inn for a couple of pints and some dinner. We couldn't decide on what to eat, but Lewis pointed us in the direction of the steak and ale pie, with chips (not mash). It was delicious, so we asked for the dessert menu. We then couldn't decide whether to have the seasonal crumble or the sticky toffee pudding, so we asked our trusted Lewis what he recommended. We both opted for the sticky toffee pudding, one with ice cream, one with custard. We both licked the plate clean and barely managed to waddle to the bus stop. Would highly recommend!

Stayed in Yanwath for a week and this pub became our regular local. Sunday dinner was superb..but what really made it was the staff and location. We booked for 3 pm and people were being turned away still then. The front of house and bar staff were so polite and friendly, it really made the whole experience 5 *. Would thoroughly recommend 👌

Visited on monday with my wife for a treat. What we got was a stringy object in our pie which put us off. A bit like finding a hair in food. Raised with plate collector who said it was thyme, like its normal. Thyme?Time to find another pub, thought i. Very underwhelmed.

Excellent choice for food. Good selection of drinks. Mind - you must book! We were seated near the door and there was a constant flow of people being turned away. It was packed. (Late September, not exactly peak season) Burgers - delicious, we sampled the hunters chicken burger for a change, very tasty and proper thick chips. Sea Bass - excellent. This was actually a special on the menu. It was cooked in a parcel with an array of vegetables, capers, artichokes etc. and steamed. A bit more expensive, but very delicious. I would say though, if you are starving, this might not be for you. How about trying the pie, made on the premises. Or, the fish and chips that came out looked amazing. (More like a whale) Not hungry? Sit in the substantial beer garden and watch the world go by.

Visited today for a roast dinner the staff were helpful and inviting but the quality and quantity of the food was shocking and not what you'd expect to recieve in a lovely little village pub. It came and was just warm, meat tasted cheap, roasties and parsnip were hard, powdered smash, yorkshire pudding dry, gravy flavourless and nothing tender about the broccoli.. Some carrots would of been good(more veg) I'm sorry to roast you but someone needs a decent roast this Sunday.. We left dissapointed and still hungry, we won't be returning.

We decided to choose this place because of the large selection of gluten-free options. However, the nachos and/or fish & chips we ordered were not 100% gluten free. My uncle became ill after visiting this place and agonised over the consequences all day.

We popped in here this Sunday for food, while the staff were really nice and attentive. The food wasn't great. The Sunday roast, looked the business but unfortunately tasted very bland, arrived and wasn't cold but wasn't warm. The roasts tasted like the old school frozen kind and hard to cut through, I got half a carrot, half a parsnip, what tasted like smash for Mash and a yorkshire pudding that was 2 minutes from being completely burnt. Although the red cabbage was lovely I must add. The meat wasn't great I had beef and it tasted like the really cheap thin sliced stuff and way over cooked. I get the feeling this place is busy and alot of the food is precooked or plated to give a quick service. We had been on a long hike, we had a 3 hr drive home ahead of us so we ate and left but unfortunately we won't be returning.

We were welcomed at the door and waited no time at all for someone to take our drinks order. Within a very short period of time we had ordered our food which arrived promptly. Won’t be coming back here. We booked to watch the football and to have drinks for the rest of the evening. At 7pm the waitress came over and asked us if we can move to another identical table (with little to no view of the tv), all of the tables were the same style we asked if they could just sit at the table a couple across as they were spare and the group coming in weren’t there to watch the football, the staff did not want to ask if the party minded just being put at the other table, they just wanted us to move. After us all having food and drinks since 4:30 we had spent a considerable amount of money at the pub. They weren’t interested in keeping us happy as this other party has “been here before” it’s our 10th year coming to this pub during the summer whilst camping and it will be our last, from the narrow minded staff who just told us to shift at 7…. (No work around to please us, we’re just a bunch of lads and treat like cattle) We left as soon as the final penalty was scored and enjoyed the rest of our night.

We took our son for lunch today, ordered chicken nuggets and chips from the kids menu- £12. The meal came with chicken nuggets over cooked and dry. The chips were inedible, looked and tasted like they'd been fried over and over, no potato left in them just greasy sheels. My son wouldn't touch it, we asked for the fries to be replaced for a fresh portion which they were. The 2nd fries were exactly as the first. Absolutely horrible. Really disappointed.

Had a table booked for the England game at 5 and they booked a table on our table for 7 and didn’t even specify when we booked that we only had a 2 hour time slot. The staff tried to kick us off the table but we had booked it for the football. The staff were incredibly rude, not understanding and didn’t even apologise/take accountability for their own wrongdoing. We have been coming to Pooley Bridge/Pooley Bridge Inn for the last 10 years. We had spent around £500+ between us all on food/drink on just last night alone so we were massively disappointed/frustrated by how we were treated. Never coming back here again, avoid at all costs!!!

We arrived around 6:40, and ordered our meals and drinks, within 5 minutes. We were going to eat outside as it was a nice evening and eat. Then go into watch the England football game, that started at 8:00 p.m. whilst waiting for our food, the waitress came over offering us other people's food, as she didn't know who had ordered it,or where they were sitting or what number table she was looking for. This happened twice. There was a table in front of us, that arrived at least 20 minutes after us, they got their food before us, which was wrong as we had ordered long before they arrived. We asked the waitress where our food was. That was the last we saw of her. We also asked a barman that was collecting glasses outside, that was the last we saw of him, so twice we had asked,it was now 7:30. It was also getting cooler outside. My husband went into see if there was a table but due to the football they were all in use. He said he would eat outside and come in later, a member of staff told him he couldn't come into watch the football as there was No standing at the bar ALLOWED ridiculous. We finally got our meal at 7:57. And the people that got theirs in front of us had already eaten theirs and left. Disgusting service! Average food, it appears the kitchen didn't know what they were doing, as the waitress told us it all got muddled up, as everybody ordered at the same time. Unprofessional! By this time it was cold outside. We ate our meals and went inside, while my husband was ordering more drinks, I noticed a table right by the door being wiped, so I sat down straight away. The nice girl on the door was not there at that point, but when she Returned she was told don't let any more in. (Don't let any more what in people that put money in your till by buying drinks) A little later a member of staff dark hair and a ginger beard, sarcastically said, sitting in a comfy chair with glass of wine watching the football I'm not jealous at all. It was the way he said it. We heard it said to somebody else, that we watched come in and sit with drinks to watch the football on another table, as we left later that evening. People stand at bars to watch the football. (But not in this Inn/pub.) Sounds like they don't want punters or money in their till. In our opinion the wrong person/ people run the pub, we would not recommend it! A long wait for food, that was average! With what sounds like chaotic stuff in the kitchen, waitresses that don't know where they're taking food or what table numbers are going to. And SOME unfriendly staff!

The menu looks amazing which is why I was very much looking forward to visiting here. Sadly, not to be. My wife, Ted (the dog) and I were waiting for almost 20 minutes to be served and the only reason that happened is because the wife stood up and asked. Food and drinks ordered so all is well, only that is also not to be. I ordered the butchers block. I don't make a habit of leaving bad reviews but this was so bad I feel like I had no choice. The chips was almost raw, guessing it was too busy to cook them properly and the stake was meh at best. Again we had to stand up and go to the bar to ask for the bill. This is first time we were asked if everything was okay.. I'm not going to name names but the lady that was supposed to looking after us was far too busy waddling aimlessly between two tables. It's a real shame given how picturesque the place is and dog friendly too which you don't get often.

Excellent country pub, dog friendly and very friendly staff. We visited on a number of occasions during our camping trip and we were always made to feel welcome by the staff. We also attended the quiz which was a great laugh and again, the staff were excellent. I can't mention the food quality or accommodation as we only visited for drinks and the pub quiz. The food that I saw looked nice although the prices (we looked at the menu) were a bit higher than average. They have a good selection of beers, which was excellent for me as I love trying different IPAs, etc. The beer garden has plenty of seating and some lovely views of the surrounding area. In terms of feedback, they need to fix the garden benches as every one we sat on had a loose back or was wobbly. Overall a brilliant pub that we hope to visit again in the near future. Hopefully we'll win the quiz next time!

Been staying at a camp site near Pooley Bridge so we decided to have a wander in for some lunch and found this gem of a place. The location is great, right in the centre of town with plenty of outdoor, and indoor seating. We chose to sit outside as the weather was lovely when we arrived. We were greeted at the door and told where to order food/drinks which was very helpful. We ordered food and before the kids could start to moan about the wait, the food had arrived and there was plenty of it! Portions were very generous and the food looked and tasted great. 5 clean plates for us which is rare these days. We ordered off the small kids menu and there was plenty of choice and only around £7.99. If we were camping longer we would have definitely returned for more.

An incredibly popular gastro pub in a very popular location. And whilst the food is good that is not matched by the service which is absolutely terrible. We asked for menu, we asked for drinks orders to be taken, we asked for our food order to be taken, we witnessed waiters brushing food onto the floor, waiters removing our plates before everyone had finished. Just basic nonsense that should not happen. The food however is really great and well priced for the quality of the dish. The issues could be resolved easily by some zonal positioning of staff and dedicated staff for dedicated tables. It really is that simple. Frustrating
