We went to McDonald’s for a quick grab of a cheeseburger and chips that they ran out of so they suggested a Big Mac .. this was disgusting , flabby, old lettuce , the whole thing fell apart .. I had to throw it away .. we asked for coffee and it wasn’t until we were back on the road that we discovered it was a warm hot chocolate.. slow service .. never again

Great service at McDonald’s today. The young lady was very friendly. Food was fresh. Plenty of space to sit. We will call again.

The same cleaner always closes the Costa seating areas during busy times. At one point the area was shut off, and the cleaner was emptying the bins outside. This is unacceptable.

One of the cleaners closed off the Costa seating areas during busy opening times for cleaning. Had a job to find an alternative seat. Toilets need attention as most of the taps are loose.

Stopped for fuel…. Found the petrol to be 30p per litre more expensive than all other petrol stations. That’s £1.69 per litre vs £1.39 we just paid a few miles down the M4.

There are lots of service stations on the M4 I would drive on and give this place a miss. The place seems quite unkempt. I didn't feel safe after dark here as lots of blokes in cars turning up. Broke down on the M4 went to this service station where they issued a parking ticket after I had broken down.

Very long wait for my food. The chicken selects were good , the fries were completely inedible, overcooked but somehow like soggy cardboard. Definitely would not advise anyone to eat them.

Stopped for the usual toilet break, and had a cuppa too. Place was clean and tidy and service was quick. Plenty of parking, but don't buy fuel here unless you're desperate, it's expensive.

The seats dirty and stained. The tables you have to clean yourself. Female cleaners just walk into the men's toilets without warning any of the men who use the urinals. This is unaccceptable and a breach of privacy. I will never visit it again.

Dated. Toilets are disgusting, don't look as if ever get cleaned. Taps moving not even properly fixed to basin. No soap in dispensers. Some dryers not working. Discusting.

We were served by a delightful young girl in the Costa Cafe ( Sunday evening ,8th July) and I have never met a friendlier and more helpful person. A credit to your company. The lady in the shop was also friendly and welcoming. Best Motorway Services experience ever. Petrol very expensive though.

V.I.P experience dining at Pont Abraham services- fresh clean private and pleasant dining experience 👌, lovely large windows to watch the world go by as you sip your coffee, plenty of variety dishes on offer.

Travelling through and stopped. It’s not the best services. Not very well laid out and is quite dirty. Does the job if you need a quick toilet break, and at a push a hot drink. Can’t say it’s a great place to be. Petrol station is good though next to it.

Horrible place poorly managed. Couldnt relax after hrs of driving because their food alarm kept going off. Pure torture as different machines going off like car alarms. Asked the manager Emma to turn it off but 3 times they came back on. Coffee like dishwa ter and no wifi. Bad place to stop.

Go to WH Smith , ready to get served and the lady yaps away with someone that had finished their shift of something. Took me longer to get through self service than if she served me. And the grin, was surreal. Why are people not bored with being stood there doing nothing?

A manager and a crew member were acting very arrogant towards myself and two other girls in the store. The manager was tall and skinny and quite young and the other boy was short and ginger. They proceeded to stand and stare at the two girls while they were eating their food, making snide comments and just being all around a bit childish. I hope these girls also make a complain about them as I feel as though it was very unprofessional and downright humiliating for them.

the most expensive fuel on the motorway network,on monday diesel was £2.02.9 a litre,i made a swift exit after using the horrible toilets and filled up my car in cross hands a couple of miles further on towards carmarthen,saving nearly 20p a litre.in this day and age rip off places like this should be named and shamed.

The lady behind the counter was extremely rude and just shook her head at everyone who was being served infront of me and was just overall miserable

Owen is spectacular and Ashton made the best apple pie. How that man isn’t a chef in a top restaurant I don’t know. Izzy gave me ketchup too

Stopped off here for toilet stop and quick bite to eat and good choice of options. The services were clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Stopped at these services so many times on our way to Tenby for our cuppa from Costa Coffee I have been a "Costa" fan for many of years. On this occasion I ordered my usual Soya Mocha (takeaway) omg it's the worst I have ever tasted!!The coffee was so strong & bitter & I couldn't even taste the chocolate!!!Best place for it was the bin!!!Very disappointed!!

The fuel is now 1.99 a litre for diesel!. This place has always been the most expensive for miles, but £1.99 is beyond a joke, stop at Pontardulais Tesco or spend a few more minutes driving on to Crosshands where is far far less.

McDonalds Ice cream machine not working . That old fib . Burgers rubbish. Inflated prices . Staff un helpful. Costa closed. No covid cleaning . Take some lessons from American service stations . Why is it so difficult to provide any kind of decent service...

Staff are friendly, place is clean, decent amount of places to sit, McDonalds for food, grab a Costa if you like the coffee thang, nowt else other than that. Only 3 cubicles in the men’s bogs though, I had to step on it to beat...

Decent services with costa, McDonald’s and WH Smith! There are plenty of good toilets too for when stopping off as well as a petrol station on the way out/in.

I hate writing negative reviews but this time I felt I needed to say something. The Costa cafe in Pont Abraham Services is 'a franchise' so they told me it doesn't have any relation to the Costa chain I know and like. So, no reward...

Thought I would stop for fuel then saw £149.99 for regular diesel ...... £127.99 at Fuel4Wales approx 6 miles ........ utter madness 🤷🏼‍♂️

Awful selection of food. Ended up grabbing something from the WH Smith concession at massively inflated prices. Other half had a coffee and ciabatta from Costa - Ok, but nothing special. Just not a nice place at all.

Service was not very good, we were travelling home from west wales no eye contact no conversation from staff we met.

I visited this service station last night 19th oct. We arrived about 1am so other than ourselves there was only one table in use which had 2 people on it. We went into the McDonalds section and I couldn't believe the state of the place....

Love Abraham services staff are very nice in Costa. Also the staff in the shop they are so helpful can't fault any of them but one lady I've made a friend of when calling there over the years. she greets me with a big smile...

Called in both ways to and from Ireland. There is a MacDonald's and on the return journey we were looking for breakfast. 2 egg and bacon Mcmuffins, 2 coffees, 2 hashbrowns just over£8. There is also a Costa's and a small shop.

For:- Easy to get in and out of, plenty of parking. Against:- Astronomical fuel prices, McDonald's usually mess up the order.

Plenty of parking just off the M4. Clean toilets. Nice McDonald's that provides a consistent coffee. Would recommend.

Good place to go and get a bite to eat on a blowy wet March Sunday. We were staying close by and didn't want anything too fancy so was very useful having this on our doorstep

I am a fan of Mcdonalds for a quick meal and consistent quality, however on this occasion it fell below the mark. The menu was the same as ever, but the quality of the food was poor due in the main that it tasted like it had been cooked and left to stand for a time. Not the usual piping hot meal we have come to expect. The chips were lukewarm and limp and the big Mac was tepid. The coffee and chocolate was nice. We frequently visit Macs and are usually more than satisfied as previous reviews will indicate but sadly on this occasion it was mediocre at best. It was quiet so no reason for it to be below par.

Lovely Cake and coffeeat the cafe with large windows for relaxing overview of the spacious carpark,lovely souvenier shop just adjacent to the cafe with nice memorabelia of Wales.

Very grubby and in need of refit. Air conditioning broken and boiling hot. Tables clean but overall grimy interior. Food served fast and polite. Very busy poor cleaning lady trying to keep up clearing lazy people’s mess.

Visited on the way back from a weekend in Tenby ordered two breakfast bacon rolls ..my goodness full of fat ...never again

A service station with a Costa and McDonalds and shops. You must pay for cash withdrawals at the machine. The food and coffee in the Costa are pretty standard, but more expensive than the High Street.

We often call in as its easy off M4, large car park with plenty of room has Costa and McDonalds so keeps the children happy. I must say main reason to call as it has a nice restaurant, spacious with large windows looking out, nicer than other McDonalds in area.

The petrol is expensive, but the McDonalds and Costa prices are comparable to the high street. It is a small stop but perfectly adequate. There is plenty of parking, just be careful of the corner as you cross the road towards the entrance.

We called back here after seeing Peter Rabbit in Llanelli Odeon. We intended to call at Llanelli Macs but missed the turing and decided to make for this one. So glad we did the food was nice fresh and hot, and the staff were really helpful. Excellent value for two happy meals and two value meals for £16. Can,t fault it. The toilet facilities were clean as was the whole area; Really enjoyed as did the children who were delighted that the toy included in the happy meal was Peter Rabbit, so excited to get this after having just seen the film

It’s not the cleanest or attractive service station. The toilets are disgusting but the food is average... can’t really go wrong with fast food and coffee. Staff can be a little rude but I guess I would be too if I had to work there.

Called in for a bite to eat sandwiches and tea nice and clean café staff pleasant and welcoming w ill recommend 100 percent.

Stopped off as a break from driving and grabbed a McDonald's. Value for money arrived quickly and nice and hot. Just fitted the bill.

Visited here, despite the guy on the till forgetting please and thanks etc, was dressed in his own scruffy hoody type jacket, he had a rolled cigarette behind his ear! Not once did he was his hands even after leaving the kitchen and coming into the public area, cigarette in hand, some lad from the kitchen shouted at him to wait for him. So this scruff walked back into the kitchen, still didn’t wash his hands and proceeded to wrap our meal! Unbelievable! Oh by the way, he still had the cigarette behind his ear as he dumped our meal on the counter. Never going to this “pit” again!

The once locally run services at Pont Abraham were taken over by Costa Coffee and MacDonald's in the last few years. The home made food that was once served has made way for these expensive fast food giants - what a shame! The toilet facilities however have not undergone any change and a facelift is long overdue!

My wife and I have been using this service area for many years and will be continuing to do so in the future. It has excellent parking clean toilets and a selection of eating options which whilst not cheap offer the traveller more than adequate sustenance depending on their needs.

This place isn't particularly dreadful, just not ideal. It recently got a makeover, which saw the departure of a cooked meal cafe and the introduction of a McDonalds and a Costa Coffee. The services also includes a WHSmiths and toilets.

Este lugar ha tenido una 'makeover' y ha sido tomada parece recxently por Costa. Que el café cualquier chasracter ex pudiera tener ha sido perdido en el entorno plástico sosa - y el café no es barato!

This services has vastly improved there is now a free cashpoint by the main entrance to the services on the right outside the doorway (you can accidentally miss it) . There is also a Macdonalds which you can order on the automatic machines to speed things up. The shop sells Welsh gifts and jewellery , books etc in addition to the usual magazines confectionary and sandwiches .

This review encompasses last three visits Visit 1 cold chips wrong wrap no shake machine grumpy staff.Visit 2 stale tortilla wraps still shake machine broken still grumpy staff Today overheld stale dry nuggets wrap looked like it had been stepped on even grumpier staff ignoring you at the counter filling in paperwork .Still no shake machine .No shakes for about 3 months now .Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish

We stopped here for tea and coffee during a day trip and read the newspaper in the coffee shop before resuming our journey. The staff were friendly, the toilets were clean and the seating was comfortable. Roadside services used to be incredibly expensive in the seventies and eighties but are a lot more affordable nowadays!

We stopped at the Costa in the service station. Well, it has changed since our last visit. New equipment and very polite staff. Service was good, new panini toasting machine :-)

Gross Costa coffee, stinky toilets and extortionate fuel prices, same old, same old. Quite reasonable local gifts in the shop though.There's not much more I can add other than you should expect a 1980's experience and you won't be disappointed.

I am a HGV driver and I parked here for the night first impressions it's very clean and spacious and the toilets are clean the staff are very welcoming it wasn't busy and I didn't have to wait very long for my food if I am back in the area I would definitely consider coming back

Having arrived just before 10.30 we were busy waiting to be served at McDonalds when the menu changed over from breakfast. As it was 10.30 on the dot we asked could we order a breakfast as we had arrived whilst this was still an option?The surly girl serving us shouted to an even more surly girl who looked like some ambitious soul had given her the role of supervisor! Her reply was no, they are too late. When I asked what the problem was as they had yet to change anything over I was told that they only had one hash brown and no breakfast items left on site!I wonder what would happen if I arrived at 10.25 and asked for 35 McMuffin meals with 20 extra hash browns?The service and attitude was appalling even considering my low expectations of McDonalds. Avoid, it's just much easier and there are much better options 10 minutes further on at Cross Hands!

We travel to Pembroke a lot and most of the time stop off at these services, the staff are so happy and friendly nothings to much trouble .My only gripe is the crossing as you come into the services I think its dangerous people don't always see the traffic coming in.

Very glad to find these services are now 24 hour. Also with a McDonald's franchise inside, we were able to stop off & grab some food and a coffee and use the facilities on our way home after holiday. Plenty of parking space and a bright, clean place to stop off at.

After rushing round all day and my daughter having two choir practices we decided to have a treat! We only live 4 miles from here! There is now a Mcdonalds Costa coffee and WHSmiths! We ate in Mcdonalds my daughter and I both ate the Big Tasty burger with bacon fries and a drink! Delicious and there is plenty of seats to sit! There is a very thorough cleaner who is very efficient cleaning tables snd floors! You can sit in any area!! It is really great to have these road services functioning to give the people who travel who need a break!They were closed! Well done and a great idea to have a variety places to eat and drink suitable to all budgets and travellers

Finally Pont Abraham has come of age and received the refurb it has deserved for so long. It now sports Costa, MacDonalds and WHSmith, brand new toilet facilities and the same small world charm that it's always enjoyed. Petrol prices are still sky high so buy that elsewhere.

If you ever stop here make sure you don't sit and relax to talk to friends Met up with friends on a long trip unfortunately I was over 2 house cost me £12.00 in parking fees

7pm we visited the service station, with family 14,11,5 .We decided to have a macdonals, what a mistake that was. There was low staffing level, with a few of us waiting on meals. The food was cold, they messed up the orders. Even we went back we was stood waiting and more cold food. The fries was very salty, and cold difficult to eat. We was on our way home and wasnt willing to wait on more poor quality of food.If can specially on the evening and you see this save your money and taste buds.. Thats the 1st time ive had such poor food quality at a McDonald's

Stopped here on our way back from Wales. Went to the Costa/Burger King section. Prices seemed reasonably high but I guess that's just Services for you. The Services were really clean in the restaurant areas and toilets. All the staff that I spoke to seemed happy to be in their work at this location.

Stopped her for breakfast, standard McDonald's but roll and bacon were fresh. Coffee could have been a lot nicer, very blande.

Nice facilities, clean toilets and a McDonald's restaurant. Has the machines to self order and wait for your number. Sound services.

Stopped off for a pitstop good disabled access, good prices for a service station. Not too busy, plenty seating

After years of stopping here it's finally got a nice restaurant to sit in and have a break. Staff have always been friendly and looked happy in their work but now they have a nice environment to work in. The new Costa is much the same as you expect it to be and much bigger than before. They have got rid of the breakfasts/hot meals area and have put in Macdonalds not everyone's idea of a meal but it is quick.Lots of improvement have been made to these services but they still need to update the toilets.

Good for a rest if you have travelled a long way. reasonable food and drink. Expensive petrol. Only 5 miles away there are better cafes and a shopping centre with 2 petrol stations. Please stop though if you are tired.

Came here to use the toilet and my husband went to purchase 2 bottles of coke. The pricing wasn't clear on the shelving so he thought the sign said he could get 2 cokes for a certain price and gave the cashier his cash. However, when the cashier rang the cokes into the till he discovered the cokes chosen wasn't in the deal. So the cashier said he couldn't work the till to do refunds, he had never been trained. So the cashier started an argument with my husband, my husband asked for his money back and it was thrown back at him by the cashier. So we walked out. NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Very clean and modern possibly just had a refit hence the almost new feel to place.Average overpriced outlets but that's the normal with motorway servies.Will certainly use this as a stop again

Probably the worst services we have ever been too - little choice, looks untidy/unclean. Will not be visiting again!

We went to Macdnalds to get 2 coffees.it was an automated ordering system.We put our order in and paid.We then had to wait 20 minutes for our order to progress up the screen,along with about 20 other people who were ordering items.At this point we gave up and asked for a refund.Normally ordering 2 coffees in macs is easy.Not here!

Services were good and cleaner than some we have visited, but we found it strange that you would have to pay for parking over two hours.

Second visit - a month after the first. On the first visit the milkshake machine had broken down. On the second visit we joked that it may still be broken down..... IT WAS! Although the guy that served us said it had only just happened that was exactly what we were told on our previous visit. In fairness, the guy taking orders was very pleasant and efficient but he was on his own, as was the person bringing orders out. Fast food outlet this is not. We won't be going to Pont Abraham again. Cross Hand McDonalds is only 10 minutes away from here and they know how to run a business efficiently.

Usual services but much smaller. Consists of a wh Smith. A Costa coffee and a mc Donalds. No other food options. Plenty of parking. Prices are usual service station prices.

First time I have visited since the revampwhich is a great improvement both in the choice of food, the presentation and the shops.Parking okfood is of course expensive here as if fuel but this is a more pleasant experience than many of the motorway services

Waited 25 mins for a happy meal and a Coke!! Worst fast food ever. Could have cooked it quicker! Not very good when u only have 2 hrs in the car park!

Sadly downgraded. Cafe replaced by McDonalds, limited food menu, little or nothing for vegetarians. Selection changes by time, couldn't even just get chips when were were there. There's a great Costa but no longer anywhere selling proper food. Use Swansea West services only a few miles away instead. They're still pretty grim but not as bad as the downgraded Pont Abraham. Honestly, now awful. Avoid.

Last time I visited, Pont Abraham was in desperate need of a total refurb. Hesitated to visit today, but delighted to report that the refurb is underway! Large Costa installed and a Macdonalds nearly ready.

We have used these services for years. They have always been above average for motorway food. We were disappointed this time. Costa Coffee seem to have taken over their restaurant, with varied results. There are two queues and nobody seems to know which one to join, they connect to two different tills which then associate with two different preparation areas at either end of the serving area. They seem to have adopted the italian system where you pay and get a receipt then go to the servers. That would not be so bad but there are eleven kinds of italian named coffees in three different italian named sizes ( not all of which are available in all sizes or priced in the column you would expect), the result is that the grid of possibilities is so extensive that the size of print is near illegible. If you do manage to decipher it you have to decide between Primo, Medio, and Massimo which is fairly understandable but should really be named Large, Huge and Bucket. I wanted a Mocha, which I normally have but fell into the trap of ordering a Cortado Mocha, WRONG ! How stupid of me. Come on Costa it's O.K to be uber trendy but this is too much, as was the price tag of over £14 for two coffees and sandwiches.

Pont Abraham used to be a friendly little services. No longer! Situated at the West end of the M4, it does no favours to the tourism industry! The whole place needs a re-vamp. It is shabby, with awful seating in the cafe - see photo. Everything looks dirty, although it may not be, because it looks uncared for and scruffy. Roadchef should be ashamed of themselves - it does not reflect well on them to have a cafe in this state. With high services prices, it doesn't encourage anyone to visit again. The staff in the WHSmith shop are friendly and warm but everyone else is disgruntled and miserable looking! They advertise that they have a meeting room / conference room and as I am a tutor and it is not far from my home, I asked to see it with a view to renting it for a course. No way! Dark, scruffy, shabby. Come on RoadChef - get real and spend a bit of money on this place.

On Saturday 16th @ 3.15 pm my friend & I stopped for a break and a coffee during our drive from Newport to West Wales. We ordered 2 lattes from Costa Coffee and our orders were taken by a very friendly chap who told us to pick them up at the end of the counter. The lady serving there put the coffees down and was talking loudly over her shoulder to her colleague in the kitchen behind her ( it was more shouting due to the distance) We didn't make any comments just picked up our cups and went outside. We both tasted our drinks and they were cups of hot milk - she had forgotten to put coffee in them. We took them back and told the woman who said it wouldn't be the first time she had forgotten - I said that she could just pop a shot in the cups - she said would make 2 more - she then for no reason whatever began to rant that she made 100's of coffees a day and that a latte is the weakest coffee and that is how they are meant to taste. Her name was Cindy and she is probably the rudest person I have ever encountered in the 'hospitality' industry. I train people in sales and customer service and she was the perfect example of what not to do . There were about 10 other customers standing around and they were equally as shocked as my friend and I. She was hostile and threatening. Costa Coffee - this woman should be removed as your other staff are charming. I will definitely stop here again as there are far more welcoming places a little further down the road.

Just another UK service area with overpriced food.If you like service areas then this is ok but if like me you seek decent value for money then go elsewhere.
