Such a disappointment, to preface this I will say we had reservations for the bar and not the main restaurant so experiences may differ in that setting. However the time we spent was bizarre and very unpleasant experience on every level. Started by waiting by the entrance for 5 minutes where 3 different members of staff looked directly at us (none of which looked particularly busy), none of which came to talk to us. Once we were eventually spoken to we were told to pick a table wherever, which is fine but we were genuinely taken aback by how deeply unfriendly our waiter was, I can understand that it’s not a easy job but they genuinely looked pained to be there, absolutely 0 pleasantries or effort made throughout the entire time we were there. We ordered our food, one burger, one side of fried and one fish burger and two cocktails. Let me say that the burger WITHOUT fries was £17 and nothing special ate half and left the rest as it was that horrid. My food came out out first (before cocktails) waited another 5 then cocktails arrived then another 10 then my boyfriends food finally arrived with no explanation or apology by our aforementioned utterly miserable waiter. Cocktails at a £15 each were reminiscent of something straight from a Wetherspoons. Aside from that it seemed like they had heart radio or something equally awful playing in the background. Shame as the bar area separate from the main restaurant seemed like a nice date spot with good ambiance. Couldn’t be further from the truth, save your money, time and Friday night and go literally anywhere else lol

I had no idea this was a Michelin rated restaurant and have not been able to verify it on the Michelin website. I went because the photos looked delicious, but I suspect these were from the restaurant. Scrolling through you will find actual representations, drops of sauce and all. I would concur with some of the 1 star Google reviews that the food is not up to par. I got the impression that no discussion about the food had ever occurred amongst the kitchen team--whether a dish actually works. And does anyone bother to taste anything? I won't go into specifics about what I ordered but what happened service wise sums up my experience. I ordered two entrees (appetizers) for my meal and both were served at the same time. Mary's has a front-back system where one person takes the order and another delivers it. Perhaps I should have clarified that I wanted one, then the second. Or I should been asked, or isn't it obvious? Why would anyone want to eat two dishes at the same time? It's not a family style restaurant. I would actually give the service a lower rating but the front waitress was pleasant and offered some insight into the operations, which under normal circumstances would be highly inappropriate. I was disappointed but OK with it all. Life's not perfect, there are good and bad days. Bon appétit!

writing my first review to share an unpleasant, underwhelming culinary experience that was EXTREMELY disappointing and practically ruined a nice evening. came to this newly opened restaurant with extremely high expectations based on excellent reviews but at first sight the interiors aren’t very cohesive( subjective). The food was actually decent with a nice presentation :)) service was extremely slow, and we were recommended and almost ‘ forced’ to order bread ON TOP of more bread provided as part of our dishes and ended up wasting a lot. portions are fair and the flavor combination was very nice. waitress did NOT put in orders for fries on the side of our steak dish and it was a horrendous culinary experience for the main steak dish despite us asking multiple times for the fries to come. bill took A LONG time to come too and when we fed back our experiences to staff, they seemed very very nonchalant and did NOT care at the slightest about their service or our experience . a huge disappointment overall.

Stopped in for a burger at the bar. The staff were all friendly and helpful. However, the burger was exceedingly average at best; one of the, if not the poorest “fancy” burger I’ve had in London. A beautifully-plated double stacker, it seemed as if the chef had looked at many pictures of burgers but eaten very few of them. Sadly I didn’t even finish it which is a first in my years of burger eating escapades. Here are a few thoughts on how it could be improved, in no particular order: 1. Patties: Too thick for a smash burger and thus not properly smashed. You could easily remove 10g per patty to achieve a crispier texture and better meat to bun ratio. Bonus: higher profit margins. 2. Bun: While seemingly baked fresh it was far too dense and doughy. An airier bun will better compliment the rest of the ingredients. 3. Fried pickle: Pure form over function. Looks cool toothpicked on top but doesn’t taste of much and is apparently a substitute for any pickle on the burger aside from an insufficient amount in the burger sauce. Given the overall fat content of the meat there needs to be more acidity to cut through it. Non-fried pickles would do the trick. 4. Bacon: Not needed at all. Adds nothing but more grease and higher price point to the equation. 5. Napkins: The little diner-style napkins at the bar are kitschy but aren’t sufficient without using a small forest’s worth. A proper napkin would be better suited for the amount of grease dripping down one’s hand and the level of the establishment. 6. Hot Sauce: The Three Darlings hot sauce on the bar, while tasty, is not properly packaged. The sauce is watery, though the bottle does not have a Tabasco-style stopper on the top resulting in a Niagara Falls-level of liquid escaping onto the plate. Seems like an easy fix. On a cheerier note, the basque-style cheesecake being prepared in front of me at the bar looked tasty and I may one day return for it. Sadly, I will not give the burger another go until at least some of the aforementioned issues are addressed. UPDATE: Tom Parker Bowles' recent review claimed that the burger is "as fine as you’ll find anywhere". While I can't comment on his thoughts of the other food I can confidently say he either knows nothing of the humble burger or simply lied about trying it.

Have visited Mary’s twice since it opened and plan to return very soon. Loved the decor and the menu was interesting. On our first visit, we had the tempura monkfish with warm tartare sauce and then shared the cote de boeuf, which was amazing. The desserts were incredible and they gave us another dessert because it was our anniversary! Of course, we had to return as soon as possible to try the smash burger. The burger bar is a great idea, less formal and we didn’t have to book. We both thought that this was the best burger we had ever tasted - so juicy and flavoursome, and the battered gherkin on top was a lovely touch. A great team at Mary’s, so friendly and welcoming, and all very talented. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can. Thank you!

4 of us went for dinner, Lovely room, interesting menu and a very comprehensive wine list. After ordering the food the wine waiter delivered the wine to the table and just pored the wine and walked away, never given the opportunity to check that the wine wasn't corked. one starter appeared 10 minutes before the rest of the starters. Bottled water that was ordered didn't appear (but was charged for). Side orders that hadn't been ordered were brought to the table. Standard of service was very substandard for a restaurant of this caliber. On the plus side the steak I had was of the highest quality. I wonder if the management realize how chaotic and unprofessional the front of house service was? and if not rectified I fear for this establishments future

We recently had lunch at Mary's and had an incredible lunch. The food was outstanding, and even though this is billed as a casual grill restaurant, they have incorporated fine dining elements into the menu. I can highly recommend Mary's. My favourites included the Duck croquettes in satay sauce, monkfish tempura, and the sirloin steak, which was perfectly cooked. Make sure you order the koffmann fries.

Great atmosphere, French/British/NY vibe. Staff were fantastic, really friendly and attentive. The starters were delicious, my particular fave was the ceviche, I could have eaten a bigger portion as a main. The mackerel was also really well cooked. Not keen on the Bobby beans, would have preferred a side of greens or salad. The pint of wine idea feels a bit of a gimmick and slightly confusing as it gets poured into a carafe. Sadly for the calibre of chefs working the night we dined, Atherton, Metzger etc the food was pretty ordinary, duck croquette was just a deep fried shredded confit, sauce just a basic warmsatay , the plaice was really bland no seasoning weak bisque froth, limited flavour , the tuna was really poor pappy and tasteless, agnolotti was by far the best dish , what really surprised me was the steak, chips and sauce, first of better steak at blacklock or flatiron, sauces average again, with bought in pre prepared koffman dry chips, desert doughnut was cold , so a pretty poor showing really

We visited Mary's last night and, all-in-all, we were left dissapointed. I know this is a new restaurant and it takes a while to bed-in new staff but, the table service was disastrous. I have never in my life been asked if I had ordered drinks by quite so many ill informed people (5). In the end, the cocktail that finally arrived was plainly wrong. An issue that was then excacerbated by the waiting staff (a) not knowing what it should look like (clear and red ingredients don't result in a yellow drink!), and (b) 'solving' the problem by just adding more mezcal to the glass. After all of this palaver we decided to just grab a burger at the counter and leave - this was the best decision of the night. The burger and fries were excellent, as was the brioche doughnut and crème anglaise that followed. The highlight though was chef at the counter who was friendly, engaging, and very passionate about the food she was creating. She's a keeper!

Really wanted to like the reincarnation of Pollen Street Social but Mary’s is a square peg in a round pollen street hole. This google page seems to have been renamed so all reviews before 15th Aug 2024 are for Pollen Street Social not Mary’s. Talked about as making food more accessible the prices are still very high and many of the menu choices (the cheaper ones) online weren’t available on the day. My teens had come for the burger (big image on the website) but were told they couldn’t have that in the dining room…they ordered next choice (three times the price) only to see people on other tables have the burger. Everything sides, sauces…all extra. Too many staff hovering not sure how to make eye contact and not much atmosphere because the sound/acoustics mean you can’t actually hear the person next to you. Cocktails were great! Shame that there was no acknowledging my name was also Mary - felt like an easy win. Anyway we loved pollen street social when we came over 10 years ago. We will try to remember that.

Wonderful new Jason Atherton restaurant with a menu that manages to combine informal dining (we had a sharing cut of exceptionally good steak) with some elegant flourishes in the starter and dessert menus. The duck croquette in satay sauce was a standout starter and a stunning barbecued pineapple/coconut/lime dessert was a lovely, light way to finish off our meal. Friendly advice from the sommelier also added to this being more than just a fantastic new steak restaurant. Visited for the Chef’s Table Experience for my birthday. I thought it was a solid and tasty menu but uninspiring, and the service lacked finesse. The standout was their “Tea & Cake” . The flavours were rich and scrumptious, setting high expectations. Another interesting element was the Ajo Blanco (“white gazpacho”) ice cream in the crab dish. The quality of the locally sourced ingredients was excellent, but I hoped for more memorable dishes. The service, although lovely, lacked the finesse expected at this price point. While the birthday card was a nice touch, adding a candle to one of the four desserts would have made it more special. Let's be honest, many restaurants at this calibre do this without requests. They gave us wrong cutlery for one of the courses. It was a bit embarrassing for them when we found the chocolate bonbons missing from a dessert box, and the staff had to quickly rectify it. Flavours were mostly classics, didn't get any wow factors. At £190pp, it was rather underwhelming. Perhaps their new projects would bring more excitement and thrill.

We celebrated our anniversary at Pollen and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and we received complimentary dishes. Our server Ivan was helpful and ensured a superb evening.

The sommelier and the cheese course are great. On a Friday evening the restaurant is maybe 30-40% occupied. The food is underwhelming, and the thing that I found best was the hand-wash in the bathroom. Try to go to some other place.

Fantastic food with lovely layered flavours across all courses. The service was too notch, your glass (be it wine or water) is never empty, the staff pays attention to every individual on every table to make sure they are enjoying the dinner! The staff there was also easy to talk to and fun and jovial. Definitely recommend for a date night or a dinner with a small group of friends or colleagues!

Awesome. Fairly priced lunch menu for a true Michelin star experience. Great service and great and unique food. All of our dishes were great, can't name one that stood out because honestly they were all awesome. Place is well designed highly recommended.

Exceptional! The service is faultless and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The small attention to detail is what truly sets this establishment apart. We tried the vegan tasting menu and while the food was lovely we could only give it 4 stars as there was not a lot of variety between the courses. There was a lot of ingredient recycling simply cooked or presented in a different way. I make this comparison between other Michelin star restaurants offering Vegan menus. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend a visit, but not if you’re vegan. I would suggest Galvin La Chapelle or Gauthier Soho instead.

I have always thought very highly of this restaurant and placed it near the top of my list for entertaining clients or for special occasions. My most recent experience, however, was underwhelming and I would actively avoid dining here based on the service we received. Firstly, our table for two was only ready 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation time of 8:30pm. Communication was not proactive and I needed to approach staff multiple times while sitting in the bar to enquire whether the table was available. Once we were seated, the three-course menu (understandably) seemed very rushed as the restaurant began to empty out. The quality of the meal itself was uneven; a forgettable starter followed by an excellent main (the fillet) and a very nice dessert (white chocolate mousse). Overall, I left with the feeling of having received poor value for money and regretted my choice, given the range of other options nearby. Hopefully this was an off night and not representative of their usual standards.

Very cute little brunch spot with this delightful neighborhood vibe - relaxed and cozy atmosphere. I found the service to be polite, attentive, and relatively quick. With respect to the meal itself, I found it was quite alright on the whole, especially considering the highly reasonable price point. Although most of it was not particularly memorable, the aged beef fillet was a definite highlight - quite excellent!

"Pollen Street is the best lunch in London by a country mile! The whole experience is world class and wows every client I've ever taken there. Staff treat you as a valued member of the PS family no matter how large or small your budget is. Yesterday was my 28th lunch visit, I've never experienced anything less than 5* service, could not recommend highly enough."

Considering this is supposed to be a Michelin star restaurant the food, on the whole, was not up to scratch. Our waitress was delightful and fantastic though. I did not want to say anything on the evening because I was being taken out for an unbelievably special treat on a trip to London. I had a Ravioli starter (I make pasta myself) and it was stone cold and rubbery. It was supposed to be seafood, but all I could taste was, I think, sea bass. The bisque-like sauce tasted 'old' and had no freshness or zing. Our two adult children (one is a private cook, as I am) had the lobster which was delicious but they felt the bits of cep overpowered it, and both declared the 'provencal citrus' (which tasted like marmalade) had no place on the plate. Three of us had the John Dory main course which was very tasty but stone cold - not acceptable. The beef dish was very good. The chocolate & espresso pudding was deemed excellent, but the Japanese Citrus parfait was too sharp and unbalanced. With regard to the petit fours perhaps they should present fewer and concentrate on perfection. Only one of the amuse bouche stood out as a thing of beauty and that was the potato with taramasalata. I feel the restaurant has too many covers so cannot deliver perfection and the menu was somewhat style over substance. To summarise the food was good, but certainly not Michelin standard and certainly not up to scratch for the price.

We decided to spoil ourselves and went there for a celebration dinner. Both of us got tasting menus. Everything was on point and so well cooked. The service was amazing - they even gave us a card and a complimentary cake to celebrate with us! It was my first ever michelin experience and they never once made us feel intimidated at all. We had a fabulous time there.

Booked a table ahead of time for lunch, transiting Heathrow on my way home I purposely arranged a longer stay over to come here to try it out. I booked the table online, and there seemed to be an array of options for lunch and dinner, including the al la carte, the fixed menu, the tasting menu etc. When I arrived I was met by Giacomo at reception, he was friendly and gladly took my carry-on suitcase to the cloakroom and then he showed me to my table. The waitress who served during the lunch service was very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about the dishes served. I was shown the various menus and drink/wine lists which I was a little surprised about. I have already booked the set menu lunch online it was somewhat unexpected I was shown all the menus including the tasting one and had all of them explained to me. I would have thought if I went for the tasting one, I would have needed to book a longer lunch session instead of the set one, therefore I am not sure why I was asked specifically which one I would book online when it doesn’t really matter when I turn up anyway. I stuck with the set menu due to timing reasons as I have a flight to catch later. I ordered the “Potted smoked ham knuckle, Cauliflower cream, sauce gribiche, teardrop peas, sourdough”, the dish was tastefully presented and delightful to eat. For the main I ordered “Poached North Sea Cod, Italian courgette, Amalfi lemon, Artichoke, Kalamata olive”, the cod was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce that came with it and finally “Pink lady & Dulcey chocolate mousse, Russet apple sorbet” it looked like a piece of artwork and it was cool enough so it was easy to cut into. Throughout the lunch service, I found the waiting staff very attentive but at the same time discreet. They were regularly topping up my drinks and on hand if I needed anything. Overall, I really enjoyed the lunch I had at Pollen Street Social the service was excellent and importantly the food was great.

Very, average food and service even though the place was 1/4 full. They forgot our olives, the gin cocktail was awful. No one came to ask if we wanted a coffee etc. The pie had a thin shop bought crust, the filling was 5 piece of meat and 3 pieces of mushroom in a watery gravy. The broccoli with blue cheese sauce had some slimy texture on it we assumed as cheese. The honey carrots were limp. Big portions does not translate to quality.

Bvlgari Lounge is close to Harrods. Honestly, there is no mistake, their service and coffee are also delicious. The carrot cake tastes bitter 🤤🤍. Prices are high but worth it.. I asked the honey employee to write me a Happy Single Day and she wrote to me in a professional and beautiful way 🫶🏼.
