great food, six stars for the atmosphere, special place for cricket lovers

I only had a pint of beer, but that was pretty poor and the staff were massively disorganised and when I asked if the cricket could be put on instead of cricket (it was lords and no one else about) they weren't able to achieve it (though they did try) .

Very nice pub, right next to the ground.

Had a great BIRTHDAY Celebration with family here . Always a good place to be at any time of the year.

Had a couple of great pints and some scummy food in this nice pub.

A relaxed place right outside the Lord's stadium. Nice and simple. Comfortable outdoor seating. Service was as expected. No food options as they shut by 9pm. Overall a descent place. Better priced than a few others.

Popped in for a beer 🍺 or two. Good service and a reasonable range of Amber ales....and next door to the home of cricket.

The food and service was great, no complaints whatsoever. We were, however, expecting something a bit more historic, charming or even cricket themed! In reality the Lord's Tavern is a rather standard looking pub just with some cricket inspired food and grub options and a lot of cricket playing.

A historic Tavern beside a landmark ground makes it very special. During my tour to the Lords guided tour I also took the onus of reserving a table to have tea just for the experience. As we entered the restaurant and informed our reservation we were directed to our table. We actually moved to coffee and along with bread and butter was served. The breads were freshly baked and was delicious. I would recommend to visit when a match is on motion as it will also allow to get the passion of patrons displayed. A must visit just for the experience. Outside and indoor seating both are available

Good service, nice outdoor seating, and clean bathrooms. I appreciated that they offered my dog a water bowl!

I went there to meet a friend who lives around the corner. It was a really hot day. I came with my dog. I went there before and it wasn't a problem. I was on the terrace as I do understand that some people don't want dogs inside. (Although it is very weird as most place including restaurants allows dogs nowadays). I was very shocked when the waiter refuse to give my dog a ball of tap water. The waiter was useless and told me that they did not allow dogs outside even when I could see two other dogs. It was Sunday the 11th June so it was hot. The two waiters were just starring at me despite me asking two for the menu. I had to ask my friend to bring a ball of water. Is that legal....that attitude is not right in my views, especially as we were outside on the terrace. Who is the manager there ? It wasn't an issue before until today. Is it legal not to autorise water for a dog for a pub?

Good quality events venue, couldn't see the pitch though from the venue which was a shame ( guess it's only grass anyway though with a load of seats around it, probably not even any daisies 😉)

Great atmosphere and service right next to Lords ground. Lost a star as menu choices seemed more limited and basic than on previous visits.

There are two great things about this pub…. It is next to Lord’s, and the chicken Caesar salad is pretty good. Service was a bit slow on a very busy Sunday.

Cream tea after a Lord's Tour, nice way to round off the day

Made a reservation for Easter Sunday Roast. Arrived only to be told that they had people that had originally booked for the regular menu (that decided they wanted the roast instead) and they had walk in’s who they sold all the Sunday roast portions to. This forced us to order from the regular menu. All 3 burgers listed on the regular menu are sold out….My partner ordered a drink only to be told of a list of things they don’t have. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. Think twice before you make a booking here, they have no reservation management skills at all! Which shows a complete lack of respect for a customer who booked ahead.

Three of us stumbled across this pub on Sunday, 5th. March 2022. What a lovely surprise - really nice and helpful staff and lovely friendly locals. The roast was really really good - beautifully cooked beef and a terrific cauliflower cheese - well done chefs!! I live in South London but this pub is worth a visit. Strongly recommend.

Popped in fir a pint and a quick meeting, nice pub , nobody in it though late at night and freezing out , good beer range , friendly staff . Great location

You're there only because you visit Lords. No other reason... They give free Wi-Fi while you wait for the tour gates to open. Good beer variety. Wet did not have any bite there so cannot comment.

Great burgers, excellent service!

Mixed experience. Easy to book a table. Bar service was good. Table service very slow. Almost 3 hours to get dinner and a desert. Main meal was fantastic. Dessert was a mix. Eaton Mess was poor, but cheese board was fantastic again! Very small menu so bare that in mind.

Been there a couple of times but was disappointed. The only thing that is enjoyable is a beer but if you don’t drink then the coffee is poor and the eats not enticing. The atmosphere and history is good

Great vibe, very good food, nice beer.

Friendly staff. Not too busy as we were watching a county game but v helpful in any case. We munched on the haddock and chips. Excellent fish, the chips too and generous portions. Really good for central London and a sporting venue

What's not to love about this cozy pub? They serve amazing food to a very high standard. They have friendly staff also the meat here is seasoned well. Would highly recommend this place.

Went for lunch, ordered a la carte. Steaks were done properly and served on mushrooms. Peppercorn sauce was very thin but OK. Nice Chips. The lamb shanks were tender and tasty. Dessert was a little disappointing- the apple and pear tart would be nicer hot. The toffee crunch is small but tasty, so don't share it! Service is good and attentive.

Very comfortable late evening pint or two outside this modern pub. Sheltered front seating area with heaters (ok, i know, heaters not very enviro friendly), Cask ales well kept. Friendly barman. Reasonably priced considering its prime position. Didn't eat but dining area looks comfortable. What's not to like, although i imagine its mega busy when the crickets on. Worth a visit.

VERY busy on match days with very loud cricket goers. The staff didn't seem prepared for a busy lunch time, and even though we booked ahead the speed of service was dismal. They also messed up our drinks order. The staff were all very apologetic, but I think there were not enough of them and management needs to consider having more people working on days that they must know will be busy.

Very very disappointing Sunday lunch. We ordered a selection of roasts, fish n chips and a few starters, however were left incredibly disappointed. Everything was burnt, see pictures, specially the gnocchi. I couldn't believe you could burn gnocchi until we dined at the establishment. The service was non existent as well. Even though only 3 tables were occupied, food took over 45 mins to arrive. I guess they required more time to burn everything. The only rationale for getting more than one star, was the location. Nice venue by the cricket ground with good background 80s sing along music was their only saving grace After providing feedback to management , it was nonchantly rebuked. Unfortunately pictures don't lie and a plate of charred food is what remains ...

Booked here for lunch before The Hundred Finals. Had a lovely welcome and they gave us the round table as there was 5 of us. Great menu catering for everyone a good Specials board. Didn’t have to wait long for our food and good portions. Our son and grandson had the steak pie wow what a pastry crust and the dish was full of lovely meat and gravy. Our grandaughter had the pizza that came with salad and lovely chips. I had the sausage and mash with very tasty gravy and hubby had the burger with salad and lovely chips he couldn’t manage a pud. We all had the selection of ice cream. Great value for money great service. The cleaner was checking the loo’s after anyone used them . The ladies was immaculate and smelted lovely. Great atmosphere and it was a special occasion and everyone in there was going to the finals and were talking about it. Some people might think it is expensive but you are in London you can book a table in advance so that you don’t have to look for somewhere to eat before the games especially when everyone else is looking for somewhere and you don’t have far to go to the match once finished. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Lots of history to read around the bar. Staff all very polite and helpful Avery smart. Thanks for a great experience Pp

Visited today for lunch before the Lords Cricket Tour. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite. The food was lovely, a delicious superfood salad and beautifully cooked lamb chops with lovely flavours and generous portions. The premises were very clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

En lugar de buscar un lugar para comer después de nuestro recorrido y tener un recorrido con un descuento del 10%, optamos por comer aquí. El interior es luminoso, limpio y las mesas no están apretadas. Ambos pedimos la hamburguesa australiana que estaba deliciosa y cocinada a la perfección. Para mi gusto, las patatas fritas estaban recocidas pero mi esposa disfrutó de la suya. El personal era muy amable y eficiente y los precios razonables teniendo en cuenta la zona donde se encuentra.

The best Sunday roasts and I have tried quite a few different upmarket type of bistros in the area- all are usually drenched in oil! Not here! Amazing and we are always looked after so well with our children. We have moved from this area now but still come here every Sunday just for the great food and atmosphere

My friends and I (sometimes 16 or more) are members of the Catholic church choir local to Lord's Tavern, and because of this we are long-time regulars (normally twice a week). The first thing to say is that the landlord/manager is extremely welcoming, and he and his staff are very helpful and accommodating. In the evening we're there for drinks, and after Mass on Sunday we are there for both food and drinks, and in all respects we have a great experience. The one thing that can get in the way of our enjoyment, and it's to do with Lord's not the Tavern, is the occasional large parties of very boisterous cricketers or fans who decamp to the pub for the evening after a day in the sun.... Prices are more or less typical for Central London, and those who eat at the Tavern are generally impressed with the food. Additionally, there are heated, outdoor spaces, so there's never an issue with finding a good space. I'm sorry that there are a couple of bad reviews, but I have to say, on balance, since the choir of 10-20 has been a regular twice-weekly fixture for at least 20 years (so let's say 25,000 visits!), we remain very positive about Lord's Tavern.
