The wine selection is very pleasing. Excellent atmosphere and the staff are always willing and attentive.

I visited here last week with a couple of friends. We have been before but many years ago. Planet of the Grapes never fails to disappoint, the staff, service, food and of course the excellent wine choices are all first class. All three of us had had busy days at work (and some more stressed than others) but this little bar has a wonderful trick of helping people to relax and enjoy fine wine and lovely food (definitely try the sausage roll! In fact we had two!) in a chilled out, cozy atmosphere. I look forward to returning again soon, I'll try not to leave it so long next time! Thank you to all the staff for making a great night with friends even more enjoyable. See you soon!

Small wine bar. Somewhat crowded and noisy after work

Great location by my office and whilst small they serve some of the nicest wines you can buy in a really friendly venue. The staff are really good and work hard to look after you.

I come here very often, I enjoy the atmosphere, wine options and most of all the cheese board. I would recommend to wine lovers.

The bottle cost £18 in waitrose, and they sold 250ml by £ 16!! The staff need to be smarter, they were looking at me like a stranger!!

Very cosy place with lovely staff. I'm a Port drinker and they have very nice Port. It's a tiny bit pricey but well worth it for the cosy and quiet atmosphere.

Normalmente uso pubs pero este bar de vinos era bueno. Los vinos están en los estantes por todas partes con precios. Eliges tu botella y la llevas a la barra donde te cargan, luego la abres y te das vasos. Había un buen ambiente a media tarde y lo disfrutamos.

Wine and cheese, what more could you want

El vino es bueno, el lugar es lindo. Sin embargo, el servicio al cliente es el peor que he experimentado en un bar de vinos de precio superior a la media. Estaba con un cliente corporativo, después de esta visita no creo que hagan más negocios conmigo.

Fun slightly different wine bar concept

Oferta muy básica y extremadamente ocupada por períodos de tiempo con personal de servicios financieros de las oficinas locales. Un poco pequeña y aplastada en mi opinión.

It's been a long time since my last visit to PotG. In that time, they have stopped the flat rate corkage charge which is disappointing since it means wines are no longer as good value as before. Not sure what the mark up is now (%age of price or special offers) but it does then become harder to extract value. Still, good chat from the staff and awesome pies!

El servicio era bueno, había una buena selección de vinos y precios decentes. También sirven una cerveza y algunos licores, así que teníamos todo nuestro pequeño grupo necesitábamos ya que herida por unas horas después de una semana ocupada.Gran ambiente y un buen lugar, ¡volveremos!

A wine bar with basic shabby furnishings, average ambiance, a limited bar service rather than table service, and an extremely limited wine list (four whites and four reds by the glass). Nice olives and adequate seating for the limited number of clientele.

. . . Pero valió la pena. Planet of the Grapes es uno de los pocos no-pubs que muestran los partidos de la Copa Mundial, así que paré en mi camino de regreso al Tube desde el Museo Británico. El personal fue muy útil y seleccioné un vino cuyo vaso cuesta más que cualquier botella que compraría. Fue bastante bueno. No es lo suficientemente bueno para tener un segundo vaso a ese precio, pero sigue siendo bastante bueno.La comida que servían parecía deliciosa. Volveré a almorzar otro día.

If you want something a little different then book a table at one of the many wine dinners (or lunches) that Planet of the Grapes arranges. The quality of the wine coupled with fantastic food and excellent service makes this a great choice.

La visita de un lunes por la tarde, - la primera impresión, me pareció que era muy pequeño, bastante lindo no una amplia selección de vinos blancos a una nevera.La comida era en una tabla, así que tuvimos que probar ambos y memorizar o mantenerlo, saliendo de su mesa para ver lo que está disponible.Compartido 3 botellas de vino blanco, muy agradable, relajado y sencillo, realmente agradable.Nos decidimos por una selección de aperitivos diferentes para ir con, aceitunas - eran demasiado aguados. Rollo de salchichas, era muy agradable y climatizada a la perfección, huevo whisky bien - junto con la ensalada con un aliño de vinagre balsámico, la mozzarella y tomoato fuente no puedes equivocarte. . Y teníamos la selección de carnes plato así bastante tamaño razonable para 3 personas.No nos visto demasiado inmediatamente cuando entramos en ella tardó unos minutos, y no estábamos seguros de si tomar o no una mesa.El servicio de atención al cliente - no había ninguno, nadie venga a ver si queríamos vino ya- en vez gritamos al otro lado de la zona de bar si podíamos tener otra botella, y cuando el vino que queríamos acabaron nos fuimos a una de vino blanco, en vez de darnos 3 nuevos vasos - que en mi opinión nos dieron de debería cuando pedimos el vino - teníamos a nick los vasos de otra tabla.Había una falta de ambiente en este lugar, entiendo que fue un lunes, pero realmente? !Me refiero a este lugar puede conseguir más animado más tarde durante la semana, pero en esta ocasión fue un poco de bajase fest -. . Que trae hasta el punto de servicio al cliente. Creo que tal vez si había un poco de ambiente y más personas en el lugar entonces de una mejor atención, pero entonces no sé.Además, me pareció que el lugar es excepcionalmente caro.Volvería? This is becoming a regular venue for business meetings and team meetings. The food is straightforward yet great quality and the service is always attentive. The fact that you can get great quality wine at an affordable price makes this a great place to go.

Fuimos a PoTG el jueves por un equipo social (24) y una de las zonas reservadas de la esquina así que teníamos un poco de espacio sin molestar a la gente que había venido para una bebida o comida. El vino y la comida era fantástica, pero la gran diferencia real es el servicio - Sara y el equipo eran excepcionales.He estado un par de veces y PoTG nunca nada más que impresionados si ha sido como un grupo, para un almuerzo de negocios o una de sus cenas de degustación de vinos. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita.

Es pequeño y se llena, pero el ambiente es bueno y hay mucho de buen vino para elegir. Fuera de la licencia (plus) Precios y luego pagas servir licor. El personal sabe sus cosas y puedo recomendar lo que buscas. Opciones de alimentos básicos pero no puedes equivocarte con una botella decente de claret y un plato de carne y queso. Mesas afuera para apoyarse son estupendos en el clima cálido. Las instalaciones son limitadas, así que no dejar hasta el último minuto, o usted podría tener una espera incómoda!

Very nice out of the way restaurant/wine bar. Food is very good and the atmosphere is typical. We enjoyed lunch/wine there and will return.

Quirky, good wine "at retail prices plus corkage" (the retail price is a little expensive) and basiccheese/ham/scotch eggs, with unlimited bread. Service with a smile

We had a great bottle of Pinot noir and a sharing plate of various cuts of meats, cheese, chorizos, and sausage rolls - a great place to while away a couple of hours in the afternoon!

Love the concept, had some great wines, but was highly dependent on our own assessment. Ranges in prices and quality - even at same price level - differ greatly. Food was so so.

Fairly small venue but reasonably comfortable if there is space. Wines of course by the glass or bottle. Food such as snacks or pies like steak and ale. A bit expensive. Recommended.

Cometí el error de visitar este bar en el fin de semana. No hay lista de vinos como tal para botellas, que son necesarios para navegar por su vino de las estanterías, que es en general más caro.

El personal es agradable y bien informado. Tenía una bonita fuente con amigos, y la variedad de vinos es excepcional.

Top quality wines and a good selection for take home purchases. Not cheap, but worth it. It's near the office, so we often stop in for a glass after work.

Nice and quiet - a nice Malbec to give me an appetite

Always enjoy going here and the food is what is required. But like many restaurants need to make sure the staff get a fair allocation of the tips.

The wine was nice and the staff attentive. Only a few days later when I find the bill in my purse do I notice that we have been overcharge £9.50 for something we didn't have. We had 3 glasses of small wine for £4.50and two side dishes for £4.25 and paid a bill of £31.50. I thought it was quite expensive at the time but put it down on the location of the wine bar. I would definitely check my bill if I visit this wine bar again.

Great choice of wine. You chose, with some expert help, and then the price is marked up if your drinking in the bar. We had the cold meats and cheese platter with a sausage roll and pork pie supplied from the Ginger Pig. The sausage roll and pie are huge and excellent. Full of meat with proper pastry. Have one and you'll never want to eat in Greggs again. Couldn'the finish the platter. An all round excellent experience.

Visited the one on Sicilian Ave, just stumbled across the place whilst walking and looked nice so called in. Ended up sipping a couple of very nice glasses of wine, although my husband was dissapointed there was no merlot or pinot noir. I thought it was great, nice atmosphere and charming staff, will definately return on our next London trip

You'll pay a bit more for a glass or bottle of wine here than you might do in other venues nearby, but the quality of the wine is excellent, and although it's a bit cramped inside it's quite a quirky fun place to meet friends.

A little haven in the madness that is Leadenhall Market when the offices empty out into the pubs. Definitely a wine lovers spot and we also had a couple of tasty bar snacks, but, not sure if they serve a full dinner menu.

I first found this place looking all over London for a very specific fine wine that no one else had, this includes borough market ect.It is small, intimate, classic and sophisticated...yet very earthy and cosy. The wooden floors and furniture combined with the racks of fine wines create a gorgeous atmosphere and it blends beautifully with their wine and selection of dishes they serve.I have been here three times and will be going back soon, they are the only people who stock the wine I like in one place and the two ladies who run the place are very professional, knowledgeable and have made several suggestions (after I enquired) that worked out fantastic for me in food selection and wine pairing.The menu is not excessive but the food I was served was fantastic. It was good quality, very well prepared and more than enough for a big guy like myself. I had a few glasses of wine with recommendation of one of the managers(as previously stated). Stunning.The patrons were mostly well dressed sophisticated individuals or couples with a tourist here or there, but never over full or empty.It was a wonderful experiance and I felt like I can just stay there all day, read my paper, drink wine and chat away.I also left with four bottles of wine and I do every time I leave there. The wine I bought is expensive but compared to other places and countries very agreeable.

Love the idea you can pick any wine off the shelf with £10 added for corkage. The meat and cheese platters along with the homemade pies are a pleasant change from a sit down restaurant meal. I think this casual way of diningis taking off well in the city.

Bustling, friendly, great wine selection. Has a brilliant concept of buying wine to drink in the wine bar at the retail price plus a fixed corkage whatever bottle you buy - so you can trade up a bit without it costing a ton. I'd recommend you book a table as it can be very busy.

This is a nice little wine bar with a great corkage concept - flat £10 for any bottle bought from their selection. A group of 4 shared 3 bottles of wine and they were all great.However, we also ordered some of the food. There is no menu and no indication of portion sizes so we ordered the meat and cheese platter for two (£12pp) with two scotch eggs (£5 each). Both the scotch eggs and the meat / cheese are basically the same as those available in Tesco for £2 each. They are nowhere near the quality or quantity to justify the price.I will never return here because I left feeling completely ripped off and exploited.

2nd visit and love this little place. Small, buzzy and packed with great wines and spirits. Well worth a visit if you're in the city.

Really liked this place. Great wine which you choose from the shop and can then sit down and drink for £10 on top. Scotch eggs really are fabulous too and mixed platters are very very good. We booked a table and have never not seen this place busy so would recommend booking. Could not fault.

The concept here is excellent. Choose your wine from the various shelves - good choice and broad price range - and it is served with an added corkage charge. A few wines are available by the glass and these are detailed on a chalk board. Small platters of meat, cheese and bread available. Gets busy and limited seating so probably a good idea to book in advance.

Loved this wine bar. Choose your wine and pay corkage. The wine selection is fab and the food simple but very good. The place was packed and had a great atmosphere. Go, you will find it quirky and fun. We will be back.

This is a tiny, but wonderful little wine bar/shop. You pick out the wine of your choice from the shelves, then find a seat and chill out. They also serve up the most fantastic scotch eggs to snack on!! I love this place!

If you want to drink some great wine and have some good food, in that order, but not feel ripped off by the price of the wine, this is the place to go. With a good selection of approx 100 or so wines all shop priced with £10 corkage, you can get some great darning and some good food to match. I'd view it as more of an upmarket wine bar with food rather than as a full blown restaurant, but it's great for an after work drink. I'll be back as soon as I can.

This is not a stuffy or imposing wine bar , and the wine advice pretty laid back, but wine buffs will appreciate the choice whether spending £30, £70, or bankers bonus price range. Corkage charge was around a tenner on top of shop price which seemed fair.Menu very limited but the cheese and ham platter was good quality and came with a large bread basket. There were a couple tempting pies also available. We were there at a busy time including a group so it was noisy and cramped but the service was swift and attentive. Would go there again for sure

This great little wine bar/shop has a friendly feel. Food is limited to what they are offering that day, generally a cheese and cold meat platter based fair. But they do tend to include their home-made scotch eggs, which are to die for!
