This is actually Frankie and Benny's. It's a good restaurant if you are going to the theatre as it is in walking distance of Charing Cross station and most of the theatres are nearby. The food is ok and prices aren't too bad. Service was good but the music was a bit loud for me.

It was one of very few places open along the Strand on a Thursday night at around 9.45pm. As a group of 4 hungry people we had to stop to eat. The food was ok. The staff were pleasant. The other customers were probably there simply because the restaurant was open, so it is difficult to know whether they were part of the usual clientele. Anyway, it was open, it provided a reasonable range of food and drink, for a reasonable price

Very good, deffinatley recommended. Staff attentive, food came quick and hot.

Waited an hour for our food, and then when it arrived, it was only warm like it had been sitting for a little while before coming to the table. I did complain at the time and they gave us a discount.

Good place to eat. I had bacon and pancakes - plenty is an understatement. I didn't manage all three and bacon with syrup. Bacon was VERY fatty though. Partner had salmon and scrambled eggs which he enjoyed but said was not enough, of course lol! We both had a mocha which was rubbish, weak and milky. Paid £19.75. So good price for London really. Wouldn't return if I'm honest, or not for breakfast anyway. But was ok and we was in a rush and got in, ordered, ate and paid in about 40 mins so good.

While sightseeing round London, we needed a nice quick lunch. Garfunkels had nice staff and we were service quickly. Prices were reasonable for London. The food was filling and nicely cooked. Portions were quite big too.

Teníamos 3 campos, en general está muy bien, sólo decepción por un curso caliente tuberías menos de carne principal (no hay excusa para esto teniendo en cuenta que el restaurante estaba casi vacío). En cuanto al precio, nos pareció un poco caro, pero afortunadamente teníamos un 30% de 'discount en vale de comida", que significa que pagamos lo que nos pareció que valía la pena. Nos encantaría visitar de nuevo (con un bono).

I truly can't say anything bad! Customer service great, nice and clean surroundings, great value fixed price menus and lovely food. It's a winner :)

Todo un poco hambre pero no habíamos reservado en cualquier lugar y Londres es un lugar muy concurrido por la noche. Buscamos en un par de restaurantes, pero tenía una buena hora o una hora y media antes de poder conseguir una mesa, así que estaba a punto de dar cuando caminamos pasado el restaurante Garfunkel's. También estaba concurrido pero pensé que me voy a probarlo. Aunque no habíamos reservado el chico de recepción nos encontró una mesa en unos pocos minutos. El servicio era bueno, igual que la comida. Bien hecho Garfunkel's es un buen trabajo, usted será vernos muy pronto.

Kom förbi och åt dagens meny som de hade. En klassisk hamburgare. Vi tyckte inte att servicen var på en toppnivå, vi satt länge innan vi fick beställa dryck och mat. Sen när väl maten kom så var det en trevlig tjej som hade vårt bord och var snabb att komma förbi och fråga om maten var okej och även när vi ville betala.

Sadly food was not particularly well presented or tasty, not at a good temperature either, service was poor, not the usual standard for Garfunkels.

I came here twice in the week I was in London for cottage pie and bread and butter pudding. They were great and tasted homemade. It's a casual atmosphere, but the service was excellent, especially from Beata. There was a real comfort level here.

From start to finish we were given attentive service. The food was of good quality and was appetising to eat. The prices were of good value in my opinion especially considering it was Central London.

Great breakfast restaurant , get excellent for portions for your money . Very reasonably price in an expensive city .

I spoke to the waiter as soon as we arrived and let him know that we were pushed for time due to the fact that we had to see a show so we had around 30 mins to eat. The waiter was lovely and said that this wasn't a problem.I ordered the steak and chips at around £15.00 and my partner ordered the chicken, bacon and cheese stack...I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and my partner asked for her bacon to be cooked well done.The meals were put on the table... the bacon was not crispy at all (she ended up giving this to me) - all of the cheese was over the bacon and so was the BBQ sauce leaving her with a plain piece of chicken.The corn on the cob was not yellow but almost brown. The steak looked like a minute steak (small and extremely thin) and was cooked to the point that it would have been classed as well done.Needless to say, we didn't have much time so I gave the waiter feed back and he was very apologetic about this and took around £5.00 off the bill but that was besides the point. First visit and the last.... bland food, and over priced...

We were in London for the day and in need of a family friendly restaurant. Garfunkles was the perfect place for us to eat. The service was brilliant (Maciek was Magic!) and the food excellent. We will return

We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We became regulars during our stay in London, going at least once a day. Their food was delicious. Their cappuccino was awesome. And best of all, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, especially Rafal, Beata, and Arantxa. They always greeted us as old friends when we came in the door.

We had lunch in the Burleigh House branch of Garfunkels while on a visit to London. We were seated in a window booth, which was nice to watch the passers by. The food was good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was comfortable with friendly staff. We were made to feel welcome. Would visit again.

We went in on the off chance staff quickly seated us took our order & food arrived promptly. Staff pleasant & friendly. Prices reasonable for this part of London.

We arrived at 6.50pm knowing we had a show to see around the corner starting at 7.30pm. We were assured we had plenty of time. Zsolt was our waiter and took our order promptly, the drinks came quickly followed by the food, to our surprise and he even got the bill whilst we were finishing up so we had plenty of time to make it to the theatre. Great service, thanks to Zsolt and the rest of the team. I would highly recommend if you have little time or are going to one of the many shows close by.

This particular Garfunkel's is a relatively compact corner affair that's well appointed and, at least the two times I've been by it, quite busy! In spite of that the service and food quality quite make up for relatively close quarters and, of course, most places are a bit tight in that part of London. It was still a great respite from the bustle outside while waiting for a showing of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' at the Vaudeville Theatre just up the Strand.The staff here was excellent and our server, Beata, ensured that we wanted for nothing during the entire visit. Other servers helped make sure food and drink arrived at our table in a timely fashion. Everything was prompt, clean, and pretty much perfect. I can certainly recommend this Garfunkel's to any enjoying the many sights and events that fill the area - or as a wonderful little break from milling about enjoying London!

Heading towards Royal Albert Hall from Covent Garden this Garfunkels proved the perfect stopping place to have a light, late afternoon/early evening meal.With tickets for the RPO playing Bond music we decided to eat a light meal before heading on into the torment that is the Piccadilly Line after 5pm.We were greeted professionally with a cheery bit of banter and shown to a table, handed two menus and shortly after a drinks order was taken.We visited just after 4pm on a weekday afternoon and this restaurant was not too busy so our meal order was taken and delivered really quickly.The food was well cooked and portion size was somewhat larger than expected for the cost.Very friendly and helpful staff made this restaurant very comfortable and homely.The washroom facilities were clean,sanitary and well cared for.So dear traveler if you find yourself just off of Covent Garden and want a franchise chain restaurant you will do well to seek this out!Enjoy

Stopped here for lunch just before seeing the lion king musical and found the place excellent, staff were so friendly and helpful. We were served by Beata who couldnt do enough for us, a must visit, with excellent food :)

Popped in here on way to Theatre and it was very very busy. The staff were milling around cleaning and re-arranging tables to seat guests quickly. We ordered drinks and scanned the menu. I decided on steak and ale pie with mashed potato and mange tout and runner beans tossed in butter?? I was so disappointed when my food arrived. The pie did look nice but the mashed potato was sliceable and the veg was watery and looked like it had been hanging around in the kitchen for a while before being served.My friend had the pasta with chicken and bacon..should be renamed pasta with bacon, one piece of chicken and a chicken bone! Again it was pre-cooked and looked like it had also been prepared in advance.We were going to treat ourselves to desserts but when the next table's arrived they looked less than appetising. Again processed food.The service was good and the food was poor and tasteless. Interestingly the waitress did not ask if we enjoyed our meal - we definitely did not.Feels like a "stack em and pack em" eatery which was very disappointing. Might be better to simplify the menu and offer fresh cooked meals rather than the processed non-descript 'one size fits all'I would rather pay more and enjoy a tasty fresh cooked meal.

Was very wet and tired when we stumbled upon this restaurant and we were made very welcome and were able too choose whichever table we wanted. Everywhere was clean, the menu varied and the food we chose very good. Our waitress Magda was lovely and when in London next will definitely visit again.

Garfunkel's Burleigh House is a real find. It is a comfortable, relaxing place to get lunch for a reasonable price in an extremely busy and expensive area of London. I had an extra hour to spare and wanted to sit somewhere that would not rush me or try to make me buy extra things. The staff was extremely friendly, the food good and the free WiFi a rare find in central London. Beata was a wonderful waitress. I will be back when visiting the West End or Covent Garden area.

I stopped of for lunch on September 9th, at Garfunkels at the Strand, was greeted, looked after and was given excellent customer service by Maciek, A Polish member of the serving team. He was attentive, friendly, polite and the service of my food was very quick! Food was great, very tasty and the surroundings comfortable. I had plenty of light being near the window and the temperature just right. I have taken my wife and family plus other friends there before and would recommend this restaurant as a fine place to eat,

The service from the staff I could not fault. However, the jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn was a little under par. The potato was served in a small square dish with sides so high one could not get into the potato with a knife and fork.Sadly after eating half of the potato it has dried out and was cold. But the waffle and ice cream came up trumps, but then there isn't much that could go wrong with a waffle. Is there?

Excellent food, the location was good easy to get to. Our waiter Maciek was very friendly, polite and accommodating. Would go to Garfunkels again. Good was reasonably priced and lots to choose from.

On a couple of occasions recently I found myself in Garfunkels having a full English Breakfast. There is the standard one at £5.95 and the "Garfunkel's Breakfast" at £7.95. The latter being much bigger and better than the former.With orange juice and a nice pot of tea, you can sit here watching the world go by outside whilst eating a very good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast (haven't tried lunch or dinner, yet).

Nice place, good music, great food. Here you can find some traditional British food. Try the Homemade apple crumble, delicious. Monika, our waitress, was very kind.

This is NOT a place to be recommended.I ordered from a picture in the menu, the London tower burger, it looked delicious, a tall High burger where you could See the ingrediens.Reality was different, it was a factory mashed beef, Very tasteless (McD qaulity), the picture showed 3 fried orionrings, only 2 inside my burger. It was a fat mashed burger.My Girlfriend ordered a spaghetti bologense, it was filled with water in the plate, NOT worth the value.The pepsi was however good, cold and Tasty. The coleshaw served with my burger was good too.

... Had two hours to kill whilst family went to the theatre. Couldn't stomach Mamma Mia but fortunately the food was decent and good value for the Strand at least. Best thing about the place are the friendly staff. Served by Monika, who was lovely.

Came for a lunch with some papers to read, in this part of Aldwych it is difficult to find a quiet space to do both eating and reading at lunch time, this restaurant is an exception. Food was well-cooked, affordable, Service (by Beata) was superb. Will come again.

Wasn't overly busy but staff seemed to be running around a lot. Our waitress was moaned at by manager and had a couple of complaints but seemed happy and just got on with it.Food wasn't anything special and toilets were defiantly ready to have some work done. With so much competition about, think more needs to be done here.

We called here on spec prior to going to the Savoy Theatre over the road for an evening show. It was busy at around 5.30pm on a Saturday, but we were quickly seated. We were only a couple and it was supposed to be a table for four, but they were so small and close together I don't realistically think four people could have fitted in very comfortably. We were lucky to get an experienced and friendly waiter called Piero who was superb. We ordered drinks and food and they were both brought promptly to the table. Our food choice was burgers and these were tasty and filling. The coleslaw was particularly nice as a side. We had another drink afterwards whilst we waited for to go to the theatre and the bill came to £47 which was pricey for what it was.

We stopped at this Garfunkel's after visiting the theatre. We were shown to our table quickly and our waiter Macierz was very keen to help. I had a three egg omelette and my wife had ham eggs and chips. Portions were a good size and the food wall well cooked and presented. The ham was very nice indeed. Couple of beers and ice cream at the end washed it down. It looks like the restaurant has recently had a makeover and it looked pretty good.

After a full day of sight seeing and walking and riding, we were wandering along Fleet Street looking for a place to eat that wasn't too upmarket (we weren't really dressed for fine dining). We saw Garfunkels across the road, and remembered this chain from a previous visit to London. Crossing the road, we entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted and shown to a booth by the window. Our waitress was Monika, and she was absolutely delightful. Very patient while we made choices, timely in her approaches to the table, and friendly and professional. (She is one of the few waiters who seem to be able to time the question "Is everything all right with your meal?" for when your mouth is not full of food!) We enjoyed our meal. It certainly wasn't flash, but it was tasty. As with pretty much everywhere in London City, the meal wasn't cheap, neither was it too overpriced. Granted, we were probably on the early side, but even for a Friday night, we did not feel rushed during our meal. It was a pleasant time in a pleasant atmosphere.

Food order was taken as son as we were ready.The food was good. The salad selection more than adequate. A very pleasant experience.

Garfunkels in the Strand is absolutely great! We try to go there at least once every month. The service received from the staff is excellent, the menu is more than adequate, the food is very well cooked and the ambience of the place is great and all at a perfect price. It is also so conveniently located for rail, buses and underground, shops and theatres.

Wa going to see Lion King round the corner so stopped in. Service very attentive (though not too much so!) food of good standards and nice and hot. only quibble was around the salmon had no sauce.......

My wife and I have eaten at quite a few different Garfunkels and always found them most agreeable. This branch is at 357 The Strand in Central London and we shared a window booth for an early dinner before going to the theatre.The group have a new menu and I chose Mushroom al Forno to start, The Bacon Cheeseburger for mains and a superb Original Sundae for desert. My wife had Bruschetta for starters and Three Egg Omelette for mains. All washed down with a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, we both agreed the meal was delicious and the service was excellent and friendly.The bill was £56 before tip and this restaurant is highly recommended.

I had not been in a Garfunkel's for some years but, needing to eat before a nearby show, decided to give it a try. While the waiter was friendly, helpful and well worth a good tip, the food was poor. I ordered steak and chips and what turned up was a thin cut, small piece of sirloin with a brown sauce, thin cut chips and a bit of greenery. it was certainly not worth the £17.00 cost. Desert (pancakes with ice cream and fruit compote) was no better. This time, the pancakes were very thick, largely tasteless and, of the three on the plate, 2 and a half were left for the waste bin, If this had been a low cost meal I wouldn't complain but with 2 glasses of lemonade, the bill for one person came to over £29.00. I will certainly not be back.

as a huge take that i knew the restaurant would be good, as when i walked in relight my fire was on! the restaurant was quiet when we arrived, and the waitress was lovely. she gave us the menus, asked if we wanted drinks and was very helpful. my friend had salmon and salad and i had an omlette which was very yummy. all the staff in this place seem very friendly and the food was good. as i have been to a few other branches can definately say this isvthe best one! will definitely go again!

Ok food for a quick stop when you don't have a lot of time. Bustling activity, and somewhat noisy. Food was hot and good, but a bit too noisy for me to linger.

We went here prior to going to the theatre so had limited time to eat but despite the restaurant being very busy, we were seated quickly and weren't kept waiting for our order or food. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was average. I had fish cake which was disappointing as all I could taste was the dill. I thought the salad bar was good and my husband's berger was fine. Two other tables next to us sent food back with complaints which were dealt with politely and efficiently. I felt it was an ok place to eat but nothing special.

After watching The Lion King just round the corner we were looking for a quick post show meal. The restaurant looked empty apart from one couple but we were ushered in by a very pleasant waitress who showed us to seats by the window. The menu offered good choices and not bad prices. I had a very tasty chicken carbonara & my husband had a delicious looking pizza! We were both extremely satisfied with our choices and unfortunately a little too full to order one of their delicious looking deserts.This was a perfect place to go to after the excitement of the show and when we go to watch on of the other shows in the area, this is where we shall certainly be heading to afterwards!

Excellent dinner in lively place, Monika was a super server.......would recommend for a light meal, even though it was busy the staff were attentive and service was quick and had a personal touch!

Today had a beautiful lunch with my family. Recommended food by Doville was absolutely superb. Even though they were very busy they made us feel special. Thank you for being so attentive and friendly. Thumbs up!!!!

We booked our table on a Saturday night & from the time we got there it was busy. The atmosphere was nice, waitress was polite & the food was lovely. All in all a nice evening.

We went there at 6:45pm before Lion King Show at 7:30pm. But we found our order is missed at 7:15pm. The captain apologized and provided 50% off for us to come again as remedy after the show, and we did. The roast chicken and the salad bar are tasty.

Staying in London for a few nights and went to Garfunkels for a pasta, good welcome, seated quickly, given menu and drinks order taken then food order, food arrived but when tasting wasn't hot, warm but not hot. Don't go here expecting anything better than average because that's all it is average.

The food was excellent and we were looked after so well by Beata who was a charming. Thank you. We will be back!

At Garfunkels, you know what you're getting. You are assured a certain consistent quality, but nothing too fancy. It's a place to go for decent food with no surprises.

Después de ordenar tardaron más de media hora en traer el primer tiempo y otra media hora más en traer el segundo tiempo (cabe destacar que el lugar estaba vacío). Por el costo deja mucho que desear, hay muchas otras opciones de comida regional mucho mejores. No lo recomiendo.

Wonderful experience for our pre theatre meal. The staff were so friendly. Huge variety of food to choose from. Great starters and mains which we thorougly enjoyed. Totally unrushed even when they got busy wewee re told to take our time. Highly recommended.!

Esta cadeia de restaurantes estilo fast food e' muito boa, se tiver que ir a uma, escolha esta. Tambem não posso reclamar do atendimento, meu ingles era pessimo e fui atendida com muita paciencia.

We decided to go for our evening meal before we went to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at The Savoy Theatre - ideally located more or less just across the road. Greeted with a smile and soon we were sitting at a table of our choice. Very attentive staff who immediately took our drinks order with the wine arriving promptly at the table to accompany two steak and chips that were very tender. For dessert carrot cake and New York Cheesecake both delicious accompanied by ice cream. No problem securing the bill with the option to give a service charge The restaurant soon began to fill up with a good atmosphere the only criticism would be the proximity of the tables - extremely close to each other offering little privacy or movement.

We decided to eat here as we havent visited Garfunkels for quite some time (and the last few occasions have been dire) Well nothing has changed here and going by todays offerings we do not intend to visit again lesson learnt now. I noticed there has been a hike in the prices which i wouldnt mind at all if the food was worth it (and beleive me it wasnt) I chose the lemon herb chicken with chips and salad and my other half opted for the british bulldog hotdog and chips. When my dinner was placed on the table i immediatly thought £12.95 for a wafer thin sad looking piece of chicken breast was really not on ! Everything went downhill from here. The chicken was lukewarm as were the chips (no restaurant should serve food that is not piping hot) and i didnt even bother touching the most boring salad in the world that came with the meal although possibly the salad may have been warmer than my chicken and chips. The side order of onion rings were yes you've guessed it - they were cold and whats more when you squeezed them lots of cold oil oozed out of them. My other half didnt fare any better with his hotdog, it was........yes right again cold as was his chips. After trying our best to consume this rubbish we decided we couldnt take no more and i was furious that a restaurant had the audacity to serve such disgusting food. We called the manager over who rightly said we didnt have to pay anything. So we left starving and very angry. This meal is now in my top ten of terrible food. Garfunkels needs to sort this branch out.

Having breakfasted the morning before at Garfunkels no 420, we were keen to go again but found it shut due to planned electric work. Seeing this Garfunkels just up the road we decided to start our 40th anniversary there.All the staff were very friendly and polite, however, our very simple order of 2 vegetarian breakfasts served on hot plates with 2 side orders of toast was keyed in incorrectly.The order was completely wrong which I could forgive as we all make mistakes, but to get this wrong a second time and still wasn't quite there on 3rd attempt was very poor service.The food is well cooked so it is disappointing. The coffee order was also wrong.Why do so many restaurants serve hot food on cold plates? I will never understand this as the staff in most establishments only carry 2 plates so could easily use a napkin. The other Garfunkels did this and got exactly the same order right first time. They don't use hot plates normally but did for us without any problems.It's a shame as the meals are reasonably priced and portions generous.I have one very simple idea, simply read the order back to the customer!

Service was good and the food was really nice. Good atmosphere and experience overall.Would recommend!
