Food and service was fantastic, lovely food and drinks menu, couldn’t fault it, we will be back to make our way through the menu

We booked a table for 12 for a celebration and couldn’t fault a thing. Our waitress was amazing. Super attentive, and gave good menu advice. Portions were massive and every single one of us enjoyed our meals. Would highly recommended the Podge and Tin.

Great milkshake and really friendly staff, Vince to see and independent thriving. I went for the double burger, which was huge and beat me.

Blown away by such accommodating customer care. I am 55 and a stroke survivor now with a hip, mobility issue. Restaurant accommodated my health issues allowing me to park in disabled bay and giving me and my family larger table for three in a quieter more private dining booth to reduce noise levels for me the best they could. Outstanding and so chuffed by the customer care. Food as always tasty, generous and well presented with prompt attentive service.. 10/10 from me and booking up again to go end in next few wks for my friends birthday. Incredibly impressive x

Part of the menu is a take on Nando’s with variety of chicken with different heat. Everything was fresh . Service was excellent and the waitresses were lovely . Would return again when in the area .

What a lovely venue! Excellent food and service!! The young lady who looked after our table was absolutely faultless!! If I knew her name I would name her in the review, she seriously couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious, very presented, although I will ask for mine to be on a plate next time, but that's just me lol Will definitely be vising again and highly recommending to friends and work colleagues. I am leaving this review due to bad service and rude staff. After ordering our food that was average and finishing in that time we wasn't asked if we needed drinks we had to call them over then after waiting 20 mins for them to come and move our plates and waiting to order pudding and more drinks we decided to just leave as there was around 6 staff just standing around to each other chatting with no interest in customer service or asking us if we wanted anything else. I then told the rude man that just walked away and ignored what I told him but heard me say I'd like my bill, He then just passed me the card machine with a total on it and not even a receipt and breakdown of the bill. He then said I thought you already had it, Impossible know one came to our table. I won't be returning due to the poor service and rude staff but have to understand a little as there all young children serving. Food was OK that's it.

Went for lunch with family which included 2 vegans. Not much choice on the menu for vegans, the only options are starters, with 3 mains that have a vegan option available. When ordering we made it clear that 2 people were vegan, ordered the wrap and no chicken burger. When the wrap arrived it contained halloumi so it was sent back to the kitchen, the no chicken burger had mayo, asked if it was vegan and told it was. The replacement wrap also contained mayo. A few hours after eating both vegans began to feel ill with stomach pains (usually happens after eating dairy in error). Very suspicious now was the mayo vegan or dairy??? It's also disappointing to have to pay the same price for the wrap when there has been no substitute for the halloumi. Apart from that the food was dry and lacked flavour. Very expensive for a disappointing meal. Won't be returning.

Really poor service, chicken skewer was under cooked & still pink, no one asked if the meals were satisfactory. Waited 15mins to order desserts, sticky toffee pudding served with cold custard. Paid for a meal that was well under par, will not be recommending or making a return visit.

Wow! Stumbled on an absolute gem here whilst shopping, the foods magnificent, the restaurant is clean, the staff friendly, cannot rate it highly enough 😀

Found this place after a shopping place, food absolutely outstanding, fish and chips as good as it gets and the lamb kofta was sublime we will be returning. Staff pleasant, restaurant spotless. I can’t recommend this gem enough ❤️

Lovely waitress named Izzy served us this evening, very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Good food, came quick and steak was cooked well.

We were celebrating my youngest son's Birthday here and they didn't disappoint. The food was really good and the service was excellent. We had a lovely attentive waitress. I didn't catch her name but she had such a lovely personality and some very pretty tattoos. I would recommend this very nice Pub. The only downside was it's a bit pricey but worth the money because the meals were quality and the presentation excellent.

What a lovely place!. Popped in for fish and chips and a cocktail or two. Great service. Reasonable prices. Husband had the T bone steak and it was cooked perfectly. Really nice staff.

This is an beautiful very Carismatic Treasure Trove I went along last week with friends we had excellent service a beautiful 🤩 young lady called Jessica. Our order was taken quickly our drinks came promptly.. Our meal was delicious and great value also 👍 I would highly recommend this to all my friends especially on the excellent Customer Service we had from Jessica what an asset this young lady is to your team

Been here several times & can't fault anything. The food was amazing as always. Waitress was lovely & friendly. Definately recommend. We both had the T-Bone Steak. Superb... Give it a go Guys... So after this last December review. We went back in January to celebate Sons Birthday. Such a let down. Portion sizes are shocking for what you pay. Burger was only luke warm not hot enough to melt the cheese on it. I'm not sure if someone else is now in charge but something has changed and not for the better. Won't be rushing back...

Haven’t been for years so decided to have a go and visit myself and wife was very excited to try something different on Sunday lunch - we was greeted nicely and served promptly by a nice young lady very friendly- all going to plan so far. Food arrived and looked nice and fresh I chose lamb wrap as I started eating halfway through the wrap I had hard crunch in my mouth actually throught I had broke a tooth ! 🦷 as I looked further and took out the contents it appeared to be glass or thick clear plastic ! We immediately asked the waitress to come over and showed her she took the food away straight away and asked if I wanted another wrap or a free drink ! A short while after some fellow approached no intro and not really apologetic really didn’t give a toss - asked if I wanted anything and then said I won’t charge you for the meal wow 😮 thanks for that ! Shortly after brought the bill for my wife’s meal and drinks £21 which I paid and left promptly pretty disgusting and disappointed on the cheek to ask to even pay upon exit not even a sorry or apology shocking service in such a situation first and last visit to you !!!

Went today for lunch. We all had fish and chips which were beautiful and very well presented. Staff were very efficient and courteous, no complaints from us. We’ll be back in the New Year.

I went out for a meal the other night. I could not wait for it. Until i got there. I was greeted by a lovely young woman named Izzy who quickly and efficiently showed me to my table. Soon after a dark haired woman with a strong foreign accent came over and asked me if i wanted any food (in a very rude manner) I immediately felt uncomfortable. She came back about 30 minutes later with my food and did not ask if I wanted a drink with it, bare in mind i was very parched after working an 8 hour shift before. I had to go up to the bar and get one myself which left my food going cold. I then had to go and get my own sauces due to not being asked before. After my meal was consumed (which was very lovely by the way) i was very much looking forward to one of their renowned desserts, but once again i was not offered one again by the same woman.

Lovely food, lovely setting inside, music etc. Reasonably priced. Good access for wheelchair too. Jess was v friendly x

Had takeaway fish and chips £14.99 and it went in the bin! Cold pale dry chips - hard batter with wet fish inside. If you're going to charge that much for fish and chips make it edible!!! Gone downhill drastically

Never going again. They were phoned before we went and told one guest was allergic to meat and fish. We were told not to have anything fried. That includes anything makes as vegetarian or vegan. And to make the waiting staff aware. We did. Ni notice was taken to to our order. Basic salad, we got the expensive one. Garlic bread not fried and that was griddled with the meat. We were left waiting ages. No one came to see if everything was OK. When they finally came over we had gone off the idea of puddings. Vegetarian food isn't suitable for Vegetarians. Nor is the Vegan food. Poor food. Poor service. Poor attitudes.

Eleven of us visited the Podge & Tin on a Monday evening - we prebooked over the phone. This was my first visit in a few years, however I have visited this restaurant many times previously. The restaurant was quiet and had a lovely atmosphere. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and our drinks order was taken. The waitress was very friendly and our drinks arrived quickly. Our food came quickly after ordering, especially considering we were a large group. I opted for the small fish and chips with mushy peas - the food was delicious and despite the menu saying "small", the portion size was filling! Overall, I really enjoyed our time at the Podge & Tin and I definitely won't be leaving it years again before I come back here!

First visit here family of 8. Had a grilled chicken burger with cheese, and chips. Chips were amazing very tasty but chicken was only luke warm. Others enjoyed their chicken wings. Meals were served in a metal roasting type tin or on a board. Thought prices were a little high, but decent size meals. Staff very friendly. But not my style of restaurant.

Love this place. Excellent menu selection, we had wings, half chicken, butterfly chicken and a couple of burgers the food was cooked to perfection and the drinks were nice too. This was out 1st visit and Will defo return and sample something else.

I went with family and friends, food for everyone, portions were decent and price was what you would expect. All staff were friendly and service was prompt! The milkshakes were the best we have ever had! Enough to order seconds! Would defiantly go again It was also really well laid out and had great decor!

This was a meal booked for a 30th celebration but also my parents first meal out after lockdown. My parents were shielding, so this made their first venture out at a restaurant even more nerve racking for them. Podge and Tin made this a really special occasion. They are making sure all do QR code on entry, and I feel the tables are very spaced out inside, I like this, as it's difficult for restaurants to get a balance between numbers and spacing. We were sat on a big table, and had a lot of space around us, with it being a booth it allowed mom and dad to face into us and away from the main restaurant if this made them feel safer, also what was a delight to see if the window above us was all open allowing for fresh circulating air- which really reassured them too. Everything from the drinks, cocktails, the service 9very timely) and the food was absolutely spot on- we couldn't fault it. Considering this was first week opening, we felt very safe and very delighted to be helping them get back on their feet and be part of it. Congrats to Podge and Tin for providing us a brilliant celebration and making my parents first meal out after lockdown a positive one, meaning their confidence will now grow to go out more and more.

Under selling service greeted and taken first order all fine. But then ignored after this. Could have sold more drinks Nd not offered dessert menu. If the staff had been more on the ball they could hVe taken a lot more money from us and many others in the restaurant rather than standing round the bar laffing and joking doing nothing........ Just saying.........owners wasting a lot of money

Very overpriced for what it is, had a ‘sirloin’ steak and it was over cooked and full of fat, and chips are like chip shop chips

This place is lovely the staff are very friendly. My mum always has the burgers and they are really nice. They also do takeaways which is perfect. The deserts are nice. If you are wondering what to have I recommend the burgers and for your child try chicken nuggets.

My daughter is 18 today and she had chosen Podge & Tin as her lunch take out treat and to support a local business. We decided to drive to the restaurant and order via telephone whilst there in the car. Opening time was 12:00 noon so we had a look in to make sure it was open and saw a member of staff wearing a dark New York yankies cap sat in the foyer so was reassured it was definitely open. We then called at 12:00......... and called........and called. After 15-20 minutes of trying and watching staff ignore the phones we gave up and went elsewhere. Would have been nice to try the food as I’ve seen friends boris etc on social media but I’m doubtful we’ll return. What a Shame.

Throughout lockdown ordered numerous takeaways from here. Every single time faultless. Very safe and organised takeaway service, always bang on time. Ordered the calamari starter and half lemon n herb chicken with homemade chunky chips and Mediterranean salad is usually plenty to serve two people. Delicious n salad bowl fab with olives and sundried tomatoes. Very fresh too. The bannofee tart is best ever had. Divine. 10/10 consistently x

Just collected a takeaway from the Podge and Tin and it was fabulous. The food was presented really well, we both had burgers I had lamb and my husband beef and we both had sides. We could not fault anything from the collection which was very well organised under the circumstances and the excellent food.

Ordered a takeaway (support local and all) and was offered a 640pm pick up time. I asked if I could pick up at 7 and they said this was fine. I arrived at 7 to be told my food wouldn't be ready until 715. My food was ready at 730. The lady who served me throughout was not apologetic or sincere at all. When I questioned why my food was so late, they told me they are unable to guarantee a collection time. The food was nice (a bit cold, had to be microwaved), just a shame it was 30 minutes late and the staff didn't really seem to care.

Overall great night with great atmosphere! However ambiance was nearly called as the chicken wings was burning me bloody tongue off. My red face friend went purple. Always chose the mild marinade. No wifi not good, not good for antisocial teenagers!

Visited for food and cocktails, from start to finish the customer service could not be faulted from jav. From being welcoming and friendly to full of recommendations on food and drinks. I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection, the best steak I've had in a long time. Such a beautiful little place, I would definitely recommend 5 stars service and food

First time here and wasn’t disappointed! Really lovey food and service was great . Good size portions and a great choice. Lovely ambiance.. Our only complaint is we were stuck in a dark corner where I could hardly read the menu..

Called up to book a couple of days before. Checked in using the App on arrival. Seated at a decent table and served quickly. The food was amazing as always, tried something different this time, went with the lamb kebab wrap!! Wow really nice!! Service was brill and the covid rules were being stuck too. Very busy for a lunchtime too. All good, we will be back.

Really disappointed with my experience today have visited podge and tin numerous times since opening post covid. Came in with a group of friends when ordering a rump steak ( rare ) i was told it would be chewy which i was more than okay with as this is how i’ve had it here the previous times and enjoyed before. Food comes out is my steak rare?? You tell me from the photo provided. Medium Rare or Medium id argue. Politely told one of the waiters that i didn’t feel my steak was cooked correct to be told that if it was anymore uncooked it would be BLUE - i disagree. I was then told that the head chef and owner of the establishment disagreed with me and so i was to eat the medium. A diabolical customer satisfaction, along side the food too.

Visited for the first time and will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. The fish and chips were the best I have had for a long time. Fresh and tasty and served pretty quickly in an almost full restaurant. My dad is a f and c connoisseur and he said they were fantastic!!!! Food and drinks all reasonably priced. See you soon!

Me and my partner both had a wrap which was very tasty. Nice decor inside and out. The only downside was being put on a table where we couldn't face our partners so we both had to face the other diners. We felt like we was in a shop window being stared at.

My boyfriend took me here for date night and it was the most delicious meal I have eaten in ages. The social distancing measures put in place were also very organised and efficient :)

Another brilliant meal here tonight! Cannot fault the food, the friendly and attentive service and the value for money. It was dark outside but the inside with the lighting and decor was so welcoming and cosy. Even my nearly 8 year old said that whenever he comes here it puts a smile on his face! Food wise, the bacon burger I chose was beautiful, cooked to perfection and the onion rings the best I've ever tasted.The kids meals are great and include ice cream and my other half loved the chicken. I always say to people to recommend them to go here, it really is a home from home!! I cannot say anything to anyone who hasn't visited other than say just go, you know you will love it! The location is easy to find, we have been many times and never had a bad meal. I just wish I had taken a picture of my food, the portions are plenty and service quick, even when the restaurant is busy. Save the cooking, come to an unbelievable venue for mouth-watering food. You will not regret it!

As a fish and chips restaurant the Podge and tin is Without equal, the freshest fish tastiest chips and a range of great chicken and lamb kebab dishes taken to a quality dining experience. Never been dissatisfied and always service with a smile.

ordering a takeaway feels like red tape. i was literally outside the door when i had to order via phone, it is ridiculous that you cannnot order your food via card or cash when we was outside the podge and tin. i expect this service to change in the future me and my friends are disappointed in this we were looking foward to your fish and chips, change your business model

Unable to visit restaurants at the moment I decided to order a take away as it was my birthday. I ordered two large fish and chips with mushy peas. Upon eating I had to hunt for the fish.the battery was so thick and far too crispy I hardly had any fish. I contacted them to express my disappointment but was told some excuse and basically tough. We are regulars here and have always throughly enjoyed our meal. After spending £20 I could have used our local chippy for half the price.

The Podge and Tin has been an absolute god send during lockdown. Such a nice break from cooking and it’s so lovely to know that the food will always be hot and taste good! Always great value for money and lovely customer service! Love it here!

Picked just about the worst time to order, 5.30pm on a sunny lockdown Saturday, so had to wait 1hr 25mins for our fish & chips. It was worth the wait, and next time I'll order at home then wait for the call as I only live 2 minutes away. Fish, chips & mushy peas tastes just like you get at the seaside (remember the seaside!), good price as well 5/5

Really slick take out operation where you don't have to come into contact with anyone. Hot and tasty food. No wonder the phone lines are so busy come 4.30 on a Saturday!

Had our first take out from podge and tin today and the food didn’t disappoint!! It’s just as good as if you went in and sit down for a meal. Obviously regarding lockdown measures and social distancing everything is well thought out and runs smoothly!! Please be patient when calling as I couldn’t get through the first day I tried to order but tried again the next day and got through first time.

We had a collection during the lockdown, everything was perfect. Was so happy when they announced they were opening for takeaway and they did not disappoint!!! Food was incredible, tasty & piping hot. We regularly eat here in ‘normal’ times so that little slither of normality through their delicious food was well needed. Will 100% be ordering again soon, brilliant job Podge!!

Called and ordered to collect quite a big order tonight called at 4.30pm when they opened was ready to collect within 20 minutes. Food was absolutely amazing as always and good portion sizes. It is slightly expensive but the food is worth it. I have been here before and ate in and the staff are always so nice and friendly and quick service.

I absolutely love the Podge and Tin and was gutted when they had closed! When I heard take out was reopening I was on it! Managed to get through last week and the system was fab and the food was absolutely beautiful as always.

Covid-19 lockdown takeout. You phone order through, they give you a collection time and you wait outside. They phone you when you can come in to pay and collect. Very well organised for social distancing. Great food.

Ordered over the phone and went to collect 20 minutes later. Theyre really safe with the distancing rules. The food was absolutely fantastic ! We got a bit excited for our first take away in a month and ordered starters and sides too. They were delicious. Childrens meals are a really good size too. The chips went down a treat. Burger was beautifully put together and really really tasty. They are doing so well in the current times. We will be ordering again without a doubt.

Great food and service, we have used the podge and tin on a regularly basis and have always found the service and food to be excellent. Tonight we have had our first take away from there and they did not disappoint. My order was taken swiftly and I was advised of how collection would work within the current situation and the need to maintain social distance. On collection I was called promptly to notify me that my order was ready and met with a friendly member of staff, who was able to take payment and pass over my order whilst allowing us both to maintain social distance throughout. Most importantly the food was great and enjoyed by all the family, will definitely be using again.

Ordered 15 mild wings... 2 lamb burgers... Side of chips cheese garlic bread and potato salad.... Everything was absolutely fantastic.... So tasty.... Hot... Full Of flavour... Perfectly cooked! Ordered food from here last night for collection, I live about a 15 minute drive from podge and tin but had decided to order from here as it was my birthday, in total I had ordered five meals only to find that when I got home there was a whole meal missing as well as a double burger only being a single I rang up and just got told to come back and collect what was missing, which quite frankly was a waste of petrol and another 45 minute round journey to come and get it adding on the waiting time I got given some free coleslaw to make up for this which is just not good enough, at really disappointed with this as on previous visits I had been impressed

Had to have takeaway as both my husband and I underlying health issues.Cant wait and hope they come down south soon !!!!!

Food was good, but when we saw the breakdown of the bill, we found we had been charged for ice in drinks! Surely this business has more respect for its customers than charging for frozen tap water?? Feeling let down and dissapointed

It’s a very friendly bar/ restaurant which is friendly and welcoming , the starters chicken skewers were very nice and the main lamb kebab pita bread was divine, alongside chips and a garlic bread.

If you want a really enjoyable meal of fish and chips in a restaurant environment this is the place to eat.There are many other dishes including wraps etc and the parking facilities are good

We arrived for our 9pm booking Saturday 9th, staff were extremely polite and friendly, there was a lovely atmosphere, great choice of menu, food was excellent, great value for money. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and will return.

Went for lunch with my friend we both had fish and chips which was really good and very large and filling would definitely return only disappointment for myself was they do not sell vodka red bull and only bottled beers so struggled a little knowing what to have to drink but would not stop me from returning.
