Poco in Cheshire West and Chester

Food was fantastic however rhea the shared owner was rude, unreceptive and overall not the experience we were expecting so shall not be returning

Poco is fabulous. The food is amazing. My wife and I went for Valentine's Day and it was as good as ever. It's probably best described as small plates rather than tapas as it's not all traditional Spanish dishes. This time some of the highlights were the mini pizzas, the padron peppers and the chorizo. So much flavour in all the dishes. Apart from Sundays they don't take reservations so you may have to wait but it's worth it. On Valentine's Day we went at 5pm and got the last table at that time. My only small criticism (though not enough to deduct a mark) is that a couple more desert options would be nice. The only one is doughnuts (though they are lovely!)

Fantastic from start to finish! A friendly welcome upon entering, sat at a free table opposite the kitchen, and lovely service (attentive but not overbearing) throughout the night. Visited with my parents for dad's birthday, and shared 8 dishes between the 3 of us, with drinks. Standout was the Sticky Ibérico Pork, I'd return just for that! With a bowl of Padrón Peppers on the side. Least flavoursome dish of the night was the Ox Cheek. It was beautifully cooked and tender, but we found it lacked flavour/oomph compared to every other dish, it was just a bit bland. Very reasonably priced, great quality produce (a lot being locally sourced from neighbouring businesses), and service to match. Only regret is not visiting sooner!!

Visited today as we are staying in Chester and decided to adventure for the first time down Faulkner Road. Found this fabulous Tapas bar, staff extremely welcoming, excellent atmosphere, food was amazing, portion sizes larger than normal and taste better than ever had before. Would highly recommend Ox Cheek and Garlic and Parmesan chicken wings., but everything was gorgeous. A must visit

My farther and his beautiful wife are regulars and when I come to visit they always bring me here!!! Staff are so friendly and treat us like family!! Food is just delicious and great wine!!! 1000% recommend!

Came here for lunch while visiting Chester. Amazing for tapas and small plates. We had the fried asparagus, patatas bravas and the sticky bbq pork, as pictured.

Incredible vibes here - wonderful food and really brilliant service. A fantastic addition to the Hoole food scene. One thing to be absolutely sure of…these guys DON’T do delivery (no Deliveroo, no Just Eat - 👿 evil conglomerates) so if you decide to try and order off those, quite simply you won’t get anything 🤷‍♂️ you have been warned!

What a find . Lovely little tapas bar , we hadn’t booked but they found us some seats , it was a little cold whilst seated , but fortunately my wife sat next to a portable heater . Great food , and atmosphere, looked like a lot of locals use it , as we would too if we lived nearby . Would definitely recommend, and will try and return if back in Chester .

Super Tapas restaurant, great relaxed atmosphere with great range of drinks & cocktails. The food is cooked fresh the Ox cheeks was melt in your mouth. Great knowledgeable servers. Can't fault it.

Order placed on just eat at 9.40 - ETA 10.20. Eta then changed to 11.05. Then changed again to 11.30 before being fully cancelled at 10.45. Can't leave review on just eat as it was cancelled so will leave it here - won't give them a try again

A very pleasant and enjoyable lunch ! The choices were varied, the prices reasonable, the food was beautifully cooked and the knowledge of the waiting staff over portion size and quantity advice was professional and helpful. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend

My wife and 3 kids had the most amazing time here! I love tapas and it's so easy for the kids to pick at bits of small plates. Bread and oil was nice, king prawns and chorizo delicious!! We had hummus, pate and 2 pizzas! 2 guys looked after us and were very chilled and attentive

Can’t manage a simple online order. 3 riders arrived and left restaurant because food wasn’t ready. After nearly 3 hours we gave up and refunded. If you can’t cope with debate that’s fine just go offline it would look better to prospective new customers. No phone number to find out what was going on. Miserable experience with zero communication and zero food. Avoid!!!

Really very very good, great to see Papas Arrugadas on a menu in the UK. Really high quality food, quite large portions, more small plate than tapas. Pintxo counter was quite small, and no Gildas sadly 😉 Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful meal here on Saturday. Shame that you can’t pre-book a table, but they have a really nice bar area with pretty decor, and comfy seats while waiting for a table. Weren’t waiting long till we were seated. Food was 10/10, Staff were all really helpful and friendly, and my cherry doctor cocktail was delicious! First time trying some of the dishes, and they all exceeded expectations. Would deffo recommend ordering the gnocchi and charcuterie board, and chicken wings..and pretty much everything tbh🤣 Price was very reasonable aswell, we ordered 2/3 dishes each, got limoncello donuts for dessert, and bottle of wine for the table and it worked out just over £20 each for food and drinks. Would love to come back with some friends again sometime soon. Thanks for a great evening!

A real jem for an out of towner to stumble upon. The house red was delicious and being brave and trying a few of their dishes paid huge dividends ( some large portions) . They were really lovely. Lovely dressings and extras! Watermelon and feta with a few slices of date some pistachios and basil was absolutely yum! A really good place to try if you haven't already. Very welcoming and lovely staff. All in a a sound 11 out of 10!

My first visit and definately not my last. The welcoming staff, very relaxed ambience even though the place was busy. The food was absolutely fabulous, the best ever. Next time i visit Chester, I will certainly visit Poco. Thank you for a lovely evening. Gabrielle.

Absolutely love Poco, eaten here a number of times with family and friends for both tapas and a roast dinner, food and service is faultless.

We visited here on a Friday night and had a warm welcome and the atmosphere was friendly & relaxing. Lovely choice of drinks & dishes and the person serving was helpful with how many plates might be good for us to order. The food was delicious - really enjoyed the croquettes, gnocchi & meatballs.

Honestly maybe Chesters best kept secret. We love small plate restaurant / bars but this one nailed it. We tried 8 plates, all amazing, daily menu and the wine pairings were bob on. No reservations just roll up and enjoy! Great vibes

We were visiting from Australia and friends who live locally took us to their favourite restaurant, Poco. Service was outstanding, food fabulous and great range of drinks! Highly recommend this place, do yourself a favour and go

We can’t recommend Pocos , Hoole, enough. Gorgeous tasty dishes, very friendly, helpful, ‘welcoming’ staff, and a lovely warm, relaxed atmosphere, this was our fourth visit and it just keeps getting better, and it most definitely won’t be our last! We sat near the open cooking area and it was also great to see the food being so freshly prepared by the very busy chefs 👨‍🍳 🧑‍🍳. We simply love here.

Loved the relaxed but cosy atmosphere and the food was so good! 100% recommend. Update: now been 4 times and it is consistently good. Also they are very accommodating to dietary requirements.

Another fabulous visit here - came in for drinks then decided to order two small plates each - the food is amazing , we know this already but this was the loveliest ever. Ordered 2 plates each, plenty for us as not big eaters, alongside our delicious drinks ( the Bloody Marina is SO GOOD) I had watermelon & feta salad with padrons ( I always have to have the padrons!) & my husband had a carne pizette with a baked chorizo plate - so delicious , freshly made with local sourced ingredients & just so perfect to nibble on over a couple of drinks celebrating our anniversary 💛

I don’t tend to leave reviews on places I go to. After visiting Poco I just had to! The food was stunning. I had croquettes, arancini, chicken pitta, and gnocchi, mozzarella and garlic bread, all were superb, and I’m very fussy and very critical! The waitress was superb, she was very knowledgable and her recommendations were fantastic. Would 100% come again when in Chester! 👏👏👏

We had a excellent evening at Poco. I was a little concerned that we could not reserve a table, but we went anyway. We was welcomed and spend some time on a causal seating while we waited for a table to become available. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The food came in small plate format and we have a lovely evening

Visited with my husband during a short-break to Chester. On arrival, the restaurant was busy but we were offered lounge seating to have a drink and wait for a table. Ordered wine & cocktails which were great. Table became available shortly after, so moved across and ordered a selection of small plates. The food was fabulous. The Criolla steak, sea bass and chicken skewer were exceptional, but all of the dishes were really good. After eating, there was no pressure to vacate the table, we were offered more drinks, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed so we stayed for a while longer. Complimentary limoncello with the bill was an added bonus! Overall, couldn’t recommend highly enough - the whole experience was excellent.

The absolute best hosts, quality and range of menu options, atmosphere & decor, draft beer options. Hoole is a far better place for the guys @ Poco 🫶🏼

The summer menu for 2024 is fantastic - what Poco have done reinventing the menu despite only being open for two years is phenomenal - it’s been very brave to remove the patatas bravas but the canarian potatoes are simply a delight. The biggest win is the chicken thigh wrap which is without doubt one of the best things I have eaten in the time that Poco has been open. I was asked to move my seat due to the fact that we had finished our meal and somebody had caused a storm in the restaurant over the fact that they were waiting but unfortunately that is how the restaurant is run and the staff did all that they could in order to accommodate as many people who walked through the door as possible.

We went here for a ‘quick bite to eat’ in passing. We were blown away. The food was exceptional, the service fabulous, and the bill incredibly reasonable. One of a best restaurants in Chester by far. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely welcome & we could chose where we sat, table service for drinks which is fab, great cocktail menu as well. We had charcuterie board, sardine pate, little fish (can't remember proper name) & a couple of other dishes. All tasty beautifully presented by knowledgeable helpful waiting staff. Can't wait to visit again.

I was following poco on Instagram for a while and wanted to give it a try. Me along with husband and his 4 friends got a chance to enjoy tapas at poco. When we entered the restaurant was full but they still managed to accommodate all six of us on a single table. Me and my husband are intolerant to onions and are pescatarians, so the chef highlighted every dish possible for us to have on the menu which I loved. Coming to food, I can’t stop boasting about it. Everything was best, anchovies, prawns, peppers, salmon, mushrooms. There wasn’t a single food item which I would say was not upto the mark. The service was exceptional. The presentation to taste to variety, everything was top notch. There was a variety of drinks available alongside a great selection of wines. The icing on the cake was that I got 10% discount on food for working in hospitality sector. Everybody enjoyed their time. Highly recommended! Please visit and you won’t regret!!

This little neighborhood gem is tops in our book. We were made to feel right at home by the kind and friendly staff. You can taste the quality in every ingredient. We loved the Olives, Padron Peppers, Crispy Gnocchi, Cheese Board, Pizzette, Albondigas and Gambas. Great wine and great service!

Poco has our heart. I can’t believe it’s taken us so long to shout about this little gem online… maybe it’s because we liked the thought of keeping it hidden, all to ourselves. But we’ve come to the realisation that Poco is simply TOO good not to share. It’s a home away from home, but with a Catalonian flair! Adam & Rhea have grafted incredibly hard to make this restaurant what it is: a chilled-out place, welcoming to all, with absolutely no judgment. If you’re on the hunt for guaranteed top-notch food, great drinks (cocktails too, oh yes…) fantastic service, and an all-round fabulous vibe, this is the spot. Come with your kids, your dog, your first (second, third…) date, your friends, your family. Dress down or up. This is the place to come, whatever your situation. This is one of the best venues in Hoole, great service with an excellent selection of beers and wines. The Tapas never disappoints. Children and dogs are welcome at appropriate times. Please give this place a try, you will thank me if you do.

We've just moved to Chester and this is our favourite place to visit so far - by that I mean we go at least once a week now, or maybe twice. There's a fantastic atmosphere in the place and it has a strong regular following. It's the sort of place that you see the same faces sitting in the same seat and to me that is a plus. The small plates are delicious and the generous portions offer excellent value for money. The owners are super friendly and the staff in general are great but it is sometimes difficult to catch their attention at times especially when the place is busy. The wine list covers all the necessaries and they are Very dog friendly. A fab little local and a great find. They definitely deserve their Best Small Restaurant in Chester accolade that they recently acquired.

Always a great meal, an ever-changing mix of tapas and pincho - last time the octopus and meatballs were standout dishes - staff are really friendly and attentive, just a lovely atmosphere. Oh, and a very decent beer and wine selection!

First time visit. Very popular. Great atmosphere.Walk-ins only. Had to wait for a table for 5. Offered drinks and seats at high table. Worth the wait. Food was amazing, every course. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Look forward to returning.

I literally just came from Malaga, Spain two days ago. The Tapas were better at Poco then in Malaga, which is focused on jamon de Iberica and epistos (grilled sardines). Poco had a much better choice of tapas. The only sangria choice was a white Sangria made with prosecco but it was quite good. I do wish they offered a tinto de verano on the menu.

Visited Poco by accident while looking for a bar/ restaurant and initially walked past. Didn't go too far before turning back and dropping in for a quick drink as I wasn't sure what food they had. We sat at the bar and chatted to Adam, the owner and got chatting to others at the bar and then ordered some small plates and that was it for the rest of the night. Great hospitality, great atmosphere, great food great drinks and nothing too much trouble........well done everyone at Poco !!! Oh and thanks for a great night.

Superb quality of both food and wine! We have just enjoyed the new Pincho Sunday menu deal which was lovely and a great way to end the week!! The staff are knowledgeable and very attentive - great customer service.

The service is good, however the food is extremely poor. You pay £3.5 for 4 olives that are too vinagary. The traditional tortilla is supposed to be vegerarian, it is not vegearian in Poco. The hot dishes were all underseasoned. Just an underwhelming experience... Such a shame.

Great place to go for 'small plates' dishes. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks were amazing! We went on the 'Gin Tasting' evening. Well worth a visit!

What a place to come for Sunday dinner, I have eaten in a fair few restaurants for Sunday dinner in Chester and this place by far is going to be my only spot on a Sunday from now on hands down. 10/10 on service, taste and overall experience.

Went for a roast dinner on Sunday Absolutely delicious , well presented on a sharing platter and excellently cooked we couldn't fault it . Very pleasant and friendly staff . We also had the house red wine very nice easy drinking

Different food experience for Chester/Hoole small authentic well cooked Tapas/Pinchos - 5 dishes and Carafe great value. Spend time with your friends grazing food and sipping wine - don’t rush take your time and enjoy. Thanks to Rhea, Adam and the team. 🙌🏼 🏆 🙌🏼
