Poacher's Pocket in North Norfolk

Nipped in for a spot of lunch and was both planning to have a jacket potato cheese and beans but then spotted the roast dinner That was it a quick change of mind and we both settled for the roast dinner We wasn't disappointed it was absolutely beautiful the beef was so tender as was the wife's turkey If you haven't been here go it's a beautiful lovely restaurant right by the sea

Visited whilst staying in Mundesley. Food was ok but strange atmosphere. Got the impression most people were locals who weren’t keen on outsiders. Wouldn’t rush back.

The restaurant itself is very nice, clean spacious with nice sea view. Nicely furnished games room and clean toilets. My friend and I went for lunch. We were given a good table and she ordered a ploughman’s lunch and I, cod and chips. The food was terrible. The ploughman’s lunch which she assumed would be cheese, pickles, ham and crusty bread composed: 3 tiny squares of cheese 1 piece of reconstituted ham A small bowl of cocktail onions and breadsticks. No pickles and no crusty bread. When she asked for crusty/French bread she got a small bowl of tiny brown pieces of fried bread. My fish batter was dark brown and splintered over the plate when I cut into it. The fish was small, grey and flat, completely over cooked and tough. The chips were soggy and not pleasant at all.

Had a lovely meal whilst stopping here in the camper.Toilets and showers are very clean. The owners have put a lot of thought into the whole pub in general catering for food as well as entertaining. All staff are friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. Dogs are welcome and there were quite a few in with bowls of water being left out for them.Our waitress was Abbi with an i and she definitely worked very hard whilst still managing to laugh and have a good sense of humour with the customers. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous little ‘GEM’ pub right on the beach lots of car park space for our 7.4 metre Motorhome. Pub staff so nice and welcoming, very dog friendly too. We had food three times and 2 breakfast ( stayed 3 nights) every meal was lovely and reasonable priced. Lots of seating inside and out. Toilets and showers opened 24/7 really nice lovely and clean also water point too.

Would just like to say thank you to ahed and all his team I’ve been staying at the poachers pocket for the past year working in bacton and I can’t thank them enough for the hospitality. From a clean fresh room every day with views that u don’t see every day well I did. Food was always hot and fresh and portions were excellent just what you need after a 12 hour day The prices were was fair and I felt i definitely got my money worth whilst being here Will be back to stay again ! We were attending the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival and staying overnight in Saxmundham...we wanted an early supper and the staff amazingly, with a fully booked restaurant managed to squeeze us in before the customers who had booked the table for 19.15 arrived...we had the dish of the day and 2 delicious desserts and at no time felt rushed...it was a first class experience and we would not hesitate to return if we are ever in the area again...but next time we will book...highly recommend

Excellent food, and lovely staff. The attention to detail is excellent! And the venue itself is truly different! An enjoyable experience, whether having a coffee, a pint and a snack, or a full meal! Thank you, The Poachers Pocket!

We booked to have our meal there to celebrate a year of my Father in Law's death, he loved that area of the Norfolk coast. The food was amazing and fairly priced, atmosphere was relaxed and very welcoming and seemed very popular so I'd book in advance All in all a great family experience. They have 2 dogs which are so friendly and some budgies. we'll definitely be going back as a family.

Last evening of our holiday, so decided to go for a nice meal, hadn’t been before. So were we disappointed you can bet your life we weren’t, from the moment we walked in with my wife in a wheelchair a dog in tow nothing was too much trouble. We had reserved a table and everything was ready. From ordering to receiving our meal was about 20 minutes and the food was excellent which was backed up by 4 empty plates, portions were spot on , couldn’t face a sweet, to full. Would we go again yes definitely we shall be on holiday here again next year, Don’t change a thing you have a great formula going here.

Stayed in the on site accommodation a lovely well appointed chalet very clean and a very comfy bed. Next to the beach includes free car parking.
