Ordered two Bacon, lettuce and Tomatoe sandwiches and two mugs of coffee cost a whopping £13.70. Served pretty quickly because bacon was only shown to the grill. The sandwich looked terrible and tasted the same raw bacon is not the best. Over priced and over hyped not worth a third of the price.

A small café/bistro discovered on our day visit to Tamworth. Were there at lunchtime for a light snack. Made to order baguette for one of us, a slice of carrot cake and mug of coffee for another and toasted tea cake & pot of tea for me. All prepared in the visible kitchen area. A good selection of cooked meals was also available. Very clean place and helpful pleasant staff. We enjoyed our visit.

A big shout out to the ladies that run Poachers Cafe - Bistro in Tamworth. Covid safe, great menu choices, lovely food and good service. I've visited several times in the last few weeks, sometimes just for a coffee and sometimes for lunch. I've recently had tuna mayo baked potato, which was accompanied by just the right amount of salad and wild mushroom and pea risotto which was absolutely delicious. See you again soon. Take care.

Called in many times for various ways to have breakfast and never been disappointed fresh hot and tasty so when my brother and his wife visited we had lunch after shopping and were so pleased we did could have took them to a restaurant but honestly this was much better and cheaper considering some of the food we have been served up I had the braised steak and chips with extra gravy you won’t need a knife it falls apart on the fork all the others were also pleased with there meals and deserts apple pie is great all for just over £45 for 4 with a drink first time we have had lunch here and believe me it won’t be the last the place is spotless and they are always cleaning no piles of plates on tables here the staff are friendly and very efficient Can’t recommend enough another gem for my followers enjoy.

At first I was quite impressed by the Poachers' cosy atmosphere - also their apparent wish to please. Then the scales came off my eyes. The Waitress crossed the line, everso soon, from helpful to cloying - later mendacious. She seemed to wish to fulfill our orders for "fresh vegetables" instead of Salad. Big mistake. There was a tiny mound of overcooked cabbage next to a teaspoonful of equally overcooked carrot. My friend's mash was equally uninspiring. Worse :"one-quarter chicken" turned out to be one-sixth - & not a brilliantly grown one-sixth as that... defrosted FAR TOO QUICKLY. Puddings were adequate - though each priced, like the wine, several pounds above their value. Staff Meeting needed here to add REAL value - and to try fresher vegetables each in their own side-dish. Finally, please leave customers alone! They want service, not friendship.

I visited with my family and was excited to try out this little cafe hidden away with its cute decor. We were quickly greeted by the waitress and menus were given to us. I went for a cappuccino alongside the Steak and Ale Pie which was perfect however I felt the rest of my plate to be bland and disappointing and completely pointless. My veg tasted tinned and microwaved and mash like nothing at all, I found myself covering my plate in pepper just to give it some flavour. Full, I refused dessert but did ask for a can of coke which was given to me opened and a quarter of it poured in glass which annoyed me when I just wanted the can to open in my own time. Now under pressure to finish my coffee so I could drink my coke I found myself wishing I never ordered the coke. We went to pay and leave and found it to be dramatically overpriced for a simple little cafe. I’ve had a Chinese for four people cheaper than this visit.

Food cooked to order in view, good size portions and well served. But main problem is that the inside space is not suitable for a full house...or in my case someone not too mobile and unable to squeeze between tables. There is outside space but can be windy. Again, food very good and priced well...but space will prevent me making another visit.

Have been here a few times and found the food to be nice. Have been today with my friend and her nephew. Taking a pushchair and 1yr old in was very awkward. The push chair was highly frowned upon and we were asked as soon as we entered if it could be "folded up". The food was then brought out quickly which is good but it seemed to be so that we would eat and vacate asap and take the dreaded push chair with us. I appreciate this is a small place but we were made to feel an inconvenience, I shan't be going again with or without children.

I went here to meet a friend and had my nephew in a pushchair. We were immediate told to fold the pushchair up even though we were the only customers. I felt like we had sat at someone’s table and our food was very good and fresh yet we were made to feel very unwelcome and eat quickly and leave. As it filled up it seemed like we were being frowned upon as my nephew was laughing and not deadly silent. I will not go here again as I felt awkward and unwanted which is unnecessary when you are trying to give a small food place custom.

It’s not a trendy bistro type cafe. It’s a small clean cafe with some outdoor seating which serves good, honest food to order. Nothing fancy but a decent range of breakfasts, light lunches and snacks. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are fair. The toilets are clean but not disabled friendly. Would go back.

Visited the cafe on Saturday, found the facility very cramped. Ordered breakfast for my wife and I, Bacon, egg beans and tomatoes good Fried bread full of fat and grease terrible, not good to eat. Sausage very poor quality- cheap and full of bread crumbs Staff very friendly Nice location Sorry Poachers - Overall breakfast disappointing, will not be returning. Best breakfast is at the Deanery next to the butchers opposite the car park.

The title says it all. Sausage and chips is not difficult to cook but so many places manage to cock it up. Poachers is always spot on for a quick lunch! Must try some of the more sophisticated dishes on their menu sometime!

Second Saturday in a row for lunch at the compact but always busy cafe. All the hot food is heated through for the individual and there is a decent range on the menu and specials board. Last week I had the liver and mash, this week it's the chilli con carne with rice. My wife had the steak and ale pie and she does eat beef often so it must be good. All the food is home cooked and there is a good selection of proper puds, not your nouvelle cuisine party stuff that's gone in two mouthfulls.

Altamente recomendado.

It's always a pleasure to drop into Poachers for a meal after I've finished my shopping in the town on a Saturday morning. I can vouch for a previous commenter who mentioned the open kitchen area, you can see you meal being prepared. You can also select a special, such as steak and ale pie from the glass fronted counter at the front. The café is kept meticulously clean, and all the ladies are very friendly and know their stuff. There is also a very nice patio area at the side right at the end of Little Church Lane. It's great in the spring and summer if you wish to eat outside, but the tables aren't generally put out during the winter. With this in mind, be prepared to share a table during peak times. The building itself is not that large, so seating can be at a premium.Don't let that put you off though. The menu is fairly extensive and pricing is reasonable. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

Called in for lunch with my mum and sister, we sat outside which was very pleasant. My sister and I had tuna mayo sandwiches on granary, they came with salad and crisps. My mum had egg and chips, she said the chips were lovely and the egg looked like it was cooked perfectly for dunking chips. Our tuna sandwiches were delicious. We had 2 coffees and a can of pop. The bill came to £15.10. Service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely return and would recommend.

Warm, friendly, cosy, reasonably priced and spotlessly clean, this Bistro Cafe is definitely worth a visit. From a bacon sandwich in the morning to the all day breakfasts, to the three-bean smokey chilli, washed down with a bottle of Stella, or Speckled Hen, this bistro has everything. Other meals, drinks etc. readily available - and can be finished off with a home made dessert. There is also a little patio area should the English sunshine prevail!
