We had two meals on separate occasions and each time the food was wonderful. There is a lovely atmosphere at the pub and the staff are most helpful.

WONDERFUL! MAGNIFIQUE! My husband and I tried and devoured a small plate of beautiful mussels which were as good as Belgian mussels! Why? Because the cream was light, flavourful, herby, slight touch of white wine, butter and hint of something just perfect to the pallet! And then we had the tagliatelle with mushrooms on which I squeezed a splash of lemon. I am not going to say that the dark chocolate sorbet was the best I ever had in England, am I? (It was!) Perhaps the Best pub in Cornwall we discovered so far! Thank you!

We visited on a cold and blustery Monday for lunch. A few patrons were in the pub but we had our choice of table. Attentive and friendly service and a very good menu. The food was outstanding and we plan on returning as soon as we can. The mussels in particular were perfect and highly recommended! A chef who knows (and cares about) what he/she is doing! Dog friendly. Small parking lot next door (probably jammed in the busier months). A highlight!

Booking for lunch Wednesday 1 January. I would not normally bother writing a review but for the stark contrast between this pub and the one we visited the day after, Ferryboat at Helford. Nice atmosphere and good, generous food. However, this was let down by poor/perfunctory service. Three young waiting staff, exactly the same scenario as The Ferryboat. No greeting on arrival, waitress stacking glasses at the other end of the bar carried on stacking for a while before coming over, looking slightly irritated. The staff taking the order, delivering the food, absolutely no warmth or interaction and at times abrupt. The impression was they just did not want to be there. Such a pity as their poor service lets down the pub. By contrast, at the Ferryboat the next day, lovely warm greeting as we walked in from all three young waitresses, genuine warmth and nothing too much trouble.

We had dinner twice at the Plume of Feathers while we were staying at St Anthony for a holiday. The pub is very dog-friendly and the staff were extremely helpful. The food was great, large portions, tasty and reasonably priced. The sharing camembert and the chips were the standout bits from the menu for us. We will definitely visit here when we are back!

Friendly, great setting and decent pub food. We didn’t stray from pub classics and what we had was as good as you would expect. However the whole experience was marred by the smell of cooking fat that seemed to resonate through the place, to the extent I probably wouldn’t go back. Perhaps it was where we were sitting but we were not far from the bar in the central part.

Had roast Sunday lunch last week. It was very good. Service was fine - friendly. We were sat in the upstairs room which was a little “sterile” ( not cosy pub vibe ). Two roasts were excellent value. Plentiful offerings .. one had the beef brisket other lamb shank. Both came with roasties , Yorkshire’s, carrots and swede then sides of cabbage and cauliflower cheese . Served hot and gravy in a jug. The beef - while well cooked and tender - wasn’t the most flavoursome. The lamb was - very much enjoyed. Would definitely return.

Front of house managed to squeeze us in (with Milo the Labrador) mid way through Sunday lunch service. The service was excellent and the food really outstanding. Starters of Caprese Salad prepared gf and salt & pepper squid: main courses of Pork Roast and the ‘daily catch’ Hake served on samphire, roast potatoes and a cream sauce with clams (I think). All quite delicious. Too full for dessert so a very short walk to the beach for a paddle and to let Milo have a swim.

Good choice for a pub meal. The Crab Linguine tasted lovely and was a good portion size but reallly needed more crab, whilst the Ham, Egg and Chips had excellent ham but very poor tasteless chips. Service was friendly and efficient but we could have done without hearing the chef constantly shouting out orders. Not the most relaxing of meals but good value for money.

About time I left a review for this place because they never let us down. We’ve been coming here for several years and i can honestly say, from the Sunday roasts, evening meals and breakfast - the food is always sensational. The owners are always very friendly and often accommodate us at short notice, even at the busiest of times. Faultless place and they deserve this great feedback. We are sat in the beer garden out front as I finally get round to writing this review! Keep up the outstanding work guys.

Spent a week in a cottage just outside of Portscatho and visited the pub a couple of lunch times. The staff are all extremely friendly and the atmosphere is really cozy and proper pub-like! Can thoroughly recommend the food - all cooked to order and really good portions. (I had Ling as the catch of the day and it was one on the best meals I’ve had in a pub, anywhere!) Wine list is long enough without being too fussy and the selection of draft ales is very good. Would recommend to anyone visiting Portscatho - ten out of ten from me and my wife.

Fabulous Sunday lunch at the Plume and boy was this a popular Sunday! Absolutely excellent slow cooked pork with perfectly cooked vegetables- not an over cooked veg in sight. The cauliflower cheese was divine as was the red cabbage. Only slight disappointment was the Eton Mess which was two-thirds whipped cream with barely a meringue - shame there wasn’t a crumble on offer.

Four of us ate here and chose four different meals. Three of them were really very good and the fourth ordinary but fine. The service was great. The tables are small and some in rather cramped/cosy corners. Can’t comment on starters or puds as we just had main courses. Portion sizes are good and we didn’t need any more. We would definitely go back…. Maybe for lunch as there is what looks a good gallery and a couple of nice shops close by.

I came here yesterday for a meal out as I am staying in Portscatho. We started as a group sharing starters, of which we had 2, the Mackrell pate and honeyed sausages, they were not only absolutely delicious, the pate was out of this world, they were plentiful. I had a muscles starter which was massive and easily could have been a sharing starter or a main, the muscles were plump, fresh and perfect and the sauce was wonderful! Others had salad, and the fish and chip main was huge and could not be finished, the wine was of a great standard and a totally reasonable price, well done guys!

We had the pleasure of visiting this pub today and it was an absolute joy, all of the staff were really friendly and offered faultless service. The beer and wine are great, (Korev and a house Rosé). We went with the recommendation of pork belly ciabatta with salad and fries, apparently it was for hungry people and they weren’t kidding! The portions were huge and the meat was top quality, unfortunately the pictures don’t get over the sheer size of the serving. We had to share a desert, warm fudge brownie with local ice cream, delicious. The whole experience was just lovely and it was great to visit, it won’t be the last time for sure. Popular with locals and tourists this friendly unpretentious pub serves really good quality food. Portions are generous and everything we had tasted fresh and delicious. Totally recommend the Ham, Eggs and Chips. Excellent friendly service even on a busy summer evening, Stonking.

The welcome and service first class. The food sublime…fresh seafood and recommended the Whole Plaice shrimp and brown butter samphire and asparagus. Take away crab ciabatta for our supper. Great pint of Proper Job Ale. Well done the team and look forward to returning.

If the 'Boat House' across the Road had had tables available outside, I'm sure we'd have chosen to eat there. There weren't, so the 'Plume of Feathers' it was! A beautiful day, warm and sunny, so we decide to eat outside. A different and more...

Really huge comfortable room, spotlessly clean, lovely friendly staff, great location in town. Surprisingly quiet despite busy pub & restaurant & in the centre of town, during a weekend. Would definitely highly recommend.

The breakfast team, Eliza the cook, and Becky the front -of-house were a great team. Friendly and the freshly cooked breakfast to order was very tasty. The reception staff were equally friendly and helpful. The rooms could do with a refresh but ok for a night or 2.

Kitchen closes at 9pm, if they are a Bar restaurant they shpuld have a separate business registered in google maps with the times for each.

The carvery was stone cold the chef/manager that was serving was absolutely miserable. Staff did not know what to do. They were too young when we complained that the car was cold. They said that we would have our drinks free and a dessert free I would not recommend this pub to anybody toilets never had no toilet paper and cobwebs and spiders on the ceiling. Nobody was wearing any hygiene at a beard protection or gloves. It was absolutely freezing cold car. It looked as it just come out of the fridge.
