We were few diners on a Sunday when we stopped for a light snack. There were a few locals at the bar, but otherwise the pub was rather soulless and the bar staff not very well informed regarding the menu. Our snack lunch was freshly prepared, we did`nt see any cooked meals so can`t comment.

Super range of good beers and even a draft flat cider, good tunes in the yard and dog friendly. Great for a walk from the cut. BUT utterly ruined by the racism, remarks and swearing of some customers. There is no excuse for that being tolerated or expressed.

Good pub food in a traditional setting. Generous portions. My dad enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie whilst I had the 5 bean chilli. The kitchen allowed me to have a small jacket potato instead of rice and it was a lovely rich tomato flavour. Not much chilli in it but that is fine by me!

We had a lovely meal here. The homemade cottage pie was amazing and huge with plenty of cheese on the top and a good selection of fresh vegetables, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend had the steak and ale pie full of meat and very tasty with lashings of gravy and mash. Extremely reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere and we both thoroughly recommend a visit. Family and dog friendly.

The food was ok, it came out a fryer. If you don’t want to spend your money this is the place for you. The “chef” refused us puddings because they had one table of 13 in that had already had their mains. They had no starters, there were an abundance of teens up and down the stairs drinking shots and we were given our bill without even finishing our mains. No drinks were offered, no extras. We had to walk to another pub for a hot drink and pudding. Not sure how they make any money if they can’t manage 2 tables.

Great welcome, good choice of real ale and other drinks, a real English country pub. Fantastic lunchtime meal with service to match, good food, well presented - just what we hoped for in the midst of a walk along the nearby Grand Union Canal. Well worth stopping here and will certainly eat here again when we are back in the area.

Well this is definitely the best place to have a meal in the area. I should know because I ate out every night for 6 months and this was my favorite location by far! Not a chance still, the friendly welcome by the fabulous team! Thank you so much!!!

We were 6 adults on a narrowboat holiday moored overnight on the Grand Union canal. A 10 min walk past the church brought us straight to the pub. Apart from food and drink an important consideration was their Covid 19 measures. On arrival we were impressed by the building's overall well maintained appearance and cleanliness plus the additional procedures put in place to minimise the risk of infection. Our table was nicely separated from other diners and the overall ambience was of a warm and friendly pub. For mains our order included liver, steaks and a Thai curry accompanied by Narrow Gauge beer and various wines, we did not have starters or a dessert. In all respects this was a most enjoyable meal made all the the more remarkable by the exceptional value for money. But perhaps in these exceptional times as visitors we appreciated the high standards of hospitality and service set by the managers and staff to ensure we voted the Plume of Feathers best pub of our holiday. Thx guys.

A few days on a narrowboat with 2 other couples , it soon became apparent that several pubs set a very low bar as trade is constantly passing . Well The Plume of Feathers is the exception , a genuinely friendly pub . The Sunday roasts were in the words of Michael Winner “ memorable” , the mixed grill , excellent value , although not for the faint heated . Made more than welcome by not only the owners , who cooked for us , the bar staff, even the customers were outstanding! Carrying drinks from the bar to our table .

Really a lucky dip visit for Sunday lunch with the other half and sister-out-law. Having lost confidence in the previous local default venue, it having gone seriously downhill in terms of service and food quality, the backup option still doing acceptable food but ridiculously over priced drinks (it's a dumbed down Premier Inn folks, not Fawsley or Whittlebury).

Overnight there had been a heavy snow fall, two staff were snowed in, another had crashed their car in the jouney into work but still came in since she was the chieif. Other staff had to come in with food and drink as deliveries had not been made. Despite all this they managed to cook all our meals in time for us to get to the game and the food was excellent. Really good service from when we arrived. The landlady looked after us and knew her beers and was able to make a custom sandwich and omelette for 2 of the kids. The menu was simple and we might have wanted more of a choice had it not been for the great vegetarian options and that everything was produced to a better standard than you usually expect but at very reasonable prices. (Sometimes less choice is better!) We had lunch and drinks for less than a tenner per person and everyone enjoyed their meal and commented on what a good place it would be to come back to. Under new management so we will come back and see how they’re getting on... I just hope they keep making chips that good.

What a find! The beer is good, well kept with a choice of real ales. The food is even better. My wife has a couple of unusual food allergies. Normally we ask what dishes are safe for her and choose from what is available. At the Plume of Feathers the chef came out to speak to us and offered to make an individual version of something that my wife had liked the sound of.The food itself was really good, well presented and at a very reasonable price. It wouldn't have been out of place at a 5* hotel. The experience was so pleasant that we arranged our timings to stop there again on the return journey. It was just as good. Nachos are corn based they are often (but not always) gluten free?A general comment - I do find that restaurants say Nachos and other products like popadoms contain gluten when yes they contain floor but not wheat floor but either corn floor and rice floor. We have had Sunday lunch here and could not fault it. There was more than plenty on the plate and we had so much meat we asked for a doggy bag for which our dog was very grateful. The only surprise was that they didn't have tomato juice or ginger ale. A party of us went last week and there was a reasonable choice and plenty of it. 2 of our group asked for a sandwich on brown bread but when it arrived it was on sliced white bread and when we said we asked for brown bread, we were told they hadn't got any. (there is a shop across the road). Also, one of our party asked for tea and this was served in a cup with a tea bag in it so surprised it didn't come in a small teapot. Small things like this spoil what would be a 5 star review.

Finally got my lunch my friend had already eaten some of his as he is not a lover of gravy so left it, on the plus side when my meal arrived the plate and food was lovely and hot on the downside would like the veg and gravy to be separated so the customer has the choice.

What a really nice, pleasant establishment this is, excellent garden facilities, the staff I saw are all exceptionally friendly, and the beer and food is superb. Sunday lunch was of a very good standard, and plenty on the plate without being charged over the top. Overall brilliant experience.

A nice village pub which has been revamped recently, came recommended so we tried it on Sunday. Only food served on a Sunday is pork or beef Sunday lunch served 12 - 4pm, but was very nice!Friendly staff, friendly locals and a choice or real ales - Perfect! Made a nice change from the 'ping' meals served on the hill, just a shame about the 'head banging' background music - hardly music to eat by!!Good size car park, with garden and kids play area and smoking shelter.

We enjoyed a very good evening meal here recently. We found the food to be of good quality, nicely cooked and value for money. The staff were friendly, helpful and willing to adapt one of the dishes on the menu for me.

Recently relocated to Weedon and have visited the Plume of feathers several times both for just a pint and had lunch.I really enjoy having a pint as good selection of live ales.I tend to pop in while taking the dog for a walk. There are some characters at the pub which makes it amusing it's great.Food on Sunday really hearty roast can't fault.Plenty of grounds outside with kids play area and seating a good family setting.

We are regular visitors to this fantastic pub and have never been let down. Great food at a bargain price I wonder how they make any money! On a serious note if your in the area pop in for lunch or dinner and you will not be disappointed. Very professional staff that make you feel so welcome, we are new to the village but since going to the pub feel like we have lived here for years. All freshly home cooked food and no smash in sight!

Superb pub ! Excellent ales, friendly staff and fantastic food at a bargain price. A previous reviewer stated the mash was instant smash ! I had the pie of the day with mash and seasonal vegetables which were all cooked to perfection......some of the best mashed potatoes I have tasted :) If you are in the area pay a visit. Highly recommended !

Dont visit - they used smash instead of mash!! Had sausage and mash and partner had pasta. My sausages were under cooked and the mash was not good. Partner pasta tasted like it had a jar of dolmio poured over it

After a lovely but muddy walk along the canal this was just what we needed. Tasty well pulled beer, service with a smile and delicious fish and chips. Good price and pleasant decor. Great stuff.

The Plume of Feathers used to be just a small village pub with little character. Since being taken over by Everards and gong through a refurbishment, the food - Quality, presentation and prices are fantastic. The place is friendly with character and well worth a visit, also the outside area is ideal for families.

So cold no fire lit. Food terrible. Used this place for years. It is so sad to see it now. Needs a refurbishment and new ownership. Feel very sad a village pub is falling apart.

Found this pub by chance on a walk from Kilsby to Crick. Food and beer excellent. Staff friendly and very helpful with the menu as one of us is gluten intolerant.
