I ordered an afternoon tea from Plumcake today and it was the best I have ever had. Kath had made fresh tarts and scones that morning and they were amazing. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The attention to detail was so special.

I have no idea where all the good reviews of this place have come from! Came with my husband and little girl. The food was mediocre at best and over priced. A very greasy egg and bacon sandwich with no sauce til I asked. A salad that was 95% ice burg lettuce and some sad pita with humous. Add to this once I went inside (we had sat down outside) the whole place was grubby and worn down. I would have not ordered food if I had had the common sense to look around inside and the toilet before ordering.

This was our first visit and it was for a family baby shower. The whole cafe was booked just for our party but there were others eating on the tables outside the cafe. The cafe is easy to find and there is nearby parking. Staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The finger sandwiches had a range of tasty fillings including tuna, egg, ham and turkey. There were also some unusual home-made chutney and Welsh rarebit tarts, These were followed by delicious home-made scones with jam and clotted cream. The finale was a choice of home-made cakes. Teapots were brought round regularly and there was also a good quality coffee option. The whole experience was really enjoyable. Even though we travelled 30 miles, we’ll be back!

I was looking so forward to my vegetarian breakfast and was going to make it a regular event. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations and certainly didn’t look anything like the description on the menu. It was really tiny. The stuffed pepper was 2 slices of pepper with a tiny piece of halloumi. The crusty bread was one slice of standard bread. The egg was really greasy and the overall presentation was poor. It was not worth the money, I have had much better for the same or less elsewhere.

Visited this delightful cafe today despite reading a negative review earlier this week as I was passing through Bramhall and the parking was convenient. I must say the cafe was bustling and all the homemade food leaving the kitchen looked delicious. I ordered the special which was egg mayo and crispy bacon barm and it was lovely. I’ll be back, thank you for the great lunch and warm welcome, it was well worth the visit.

Took my Mum for a cup of tea on Saturday and we both took a trip to the toilets.....I was horrified, filthy woodwork and walls, the lino on the floor was lifting and in need of replacing, toilet looks like its never seen bleach, rusty taps, dirty sink, dirty mirror. The teapot, cups and saucers were all stained with old tea marks the table tops and table legs were dirty. A stack of babies high chairs had old food stuck to them. The whole place needs a good scrub with bleach and boiling water. Im so glad that we hadnt ordered any food.

Haven't dined here for a few years but our 6 year old remembered the toys available while you eat. Whilst the toys have been replaced with activity and reading books the quality of the food and staff still remain top rate. We had a tasty jacket potato with a mildly hot chilli with salad, open ham salad plus the child's afternoon tea which included triangular cheese sandwiches, crisps, scone and chocolate fairy cake with icing and sweets to self decorate. Daughter was incredibly delighted that it was presented as though we were at the Ritz! She couldn't manage the scone or half her sandwich but scone was devoured by her father and without asking remainder of sandwich was wrapped in foil to takeaway for later. As the scone had been taken, I was'forced' to have Bakewell Tart cake with optional clotted cream for dessert. Very friendly staff, a good people friendly atmosphere you you feel able to linger a little as you digest their ample and delicious homemade food. Will revisit again sooner rather than later.

I’ve heard good reports about this cafe so we thought we’d call in for brekkie while walking the dog. Firstly, the cafe is welcoming, the service is great and it’s dog friendly with free doggy sausages offered. However, the skinny cappuccino wasn’t great, a bit tasteless....maybe I should have asked for a second shot. My bacon barm was ok but my partners light breakfast was poor....the poached eggs were over cooked, not the slightest hint of being soft. If someone had come and asked if it was ok, we would have mentioned this but sadly no opportunity. Would I revisit? Probably as we like to support the independent cafes but it would need to be much better given the competition in the village.

One of the reasons I love Plumcake so much, is they will be able to work out exactly what I want based on what I feel like eating. Yes, I feel like something warm, no, I don't want eggs, yes, I want a toastie, no, I don't want tuna, yes, I'll have onions on it too. And before you know it, I get presented with something I hadn't initially gone in for, but gone in being stuck for ideas what to have but knowing I wanted something delicious, freshly made and with the usual friendly service. Yet again, Plumcake come up trumps.

To be fair a nice sandwich and crisps for the kids tiny meal and the service was friendly. The adults hot muffins were greasy and one order was wrong and the sausages tasted of nothing and had a very unpleasant texture. Also food was stored in the window in what I assume to be a chilled compartment beneath the cakes but in full view to the cafe. Lemon drizzle cake also not great rather dry with awful nasty icing. Totally disagree with the 1 star review from clarejchilton. The owners being described as rude are very far from the truth. The fact is that the said children were making too much noise for a phone call to be heard and the parent was very politely asked to quieten them down while the phone call was being taken is what has caused this review. The phone call was, in fact, to discuss a funeral, so I think asking for a little quiet is reasonable.Don’t let a review like this put you off visiting one of the nicest cafes in the centre of Bramhall. There is always a welcome, both for humans and their doggies, with doggy sausage being on offer, the coffee is always piping hot and Kathy’s scones are delicious. People with their own businesses work extremely hard to be successful and one bad review can do untold, unnecessary damage.

Wow what can I say this shabby little cafe, is geared up for kids but clearly doesn’t like to have children. If you are planning on attending with your little ones then please DONT, it has colouring in books crayons etc and even a childrens menu, but if you’re children take one step out of line or have they have any form of Autism and possibly struggle in different surroundings, then just be very prepared for THE rudest lady ever (possibly the owner) to tell you that your children need to keep quite or keep the volume down and behave as she did to me today. (My child is 2 years old).As I was in total shock with this disgusting customer service and human being. Finally to conclude, I also asked for a pretty simple order and the staff couldn’t even get it correct as they forgot to bring my tea...I asked for two toasted teacakes an earl grey tea and a apple juices. Disgraceful way to run a business you should be ashamed.

Served by a lovely lady I think she was called Sally! Enjoyed it so much we have been back again 3 more times! Full English Breakfasts again, delicious! Fantastic sausages by the way! We stopped by for coffee & cake the last week! Lovely & served by a lady called Anna, I think! She was so friendly & so nice & to find out this sweet little cafe was run by herself & her mother! (Her Mum cooks the great food) I thought was brilliant! Her mum even came out from the kitchen to say Hi! Seemed a right character, very fun! We’ll calling back again next time in Bramhall for sure! Next time I’m having Scones after my full English, if I’ve got room! Oh also told a friend about the cafe, & he nipped in for a bacon sausage egg barm to takeaway, said it was amazing! So a must try!

Very friendly welcome on arrival - extremely helpful and accommodating - as we were a party of 5 plus a baby in pushchair they immediately pushed two tables together so that we could sit together - we didn't need to ask. We initially called in for drinks but the home made cakes were so inviting - they were delicious - particularly the chocolate and orange. As this is a local cafe we will certainly call in again. We sat inside; there are seats outside but they are close to the play area - ideal if your children are playing but otherwise a little noisy.

Having my coffee and a toasted teacake in my favourite cafe. Cath and Anna are so friendly and very involved in the community. They are always welcoming and all the staff are brilliant. The food is just like you would get at home so the cafe has a great homely feel. Love it here.

If you haven't tried Plumcake's homemade soups then they are a must. All their soups are homemade on site (not bought in packets and warmed up), and if you ask Kath nicely she might just tell you what she's put in them to make them so delicious. I often forget to eat and time runs away with me, so having Plumcake so handy in the Village Square means I'm guaranteed a wholesome meal to warm me up, knowing there is nothing but vegetables in it.Of course its also tempting to have a teacake for breakfast, and a cake for afternoon tea, but those are for other days.

Heard good reviews about this cafe so decided to try it. First impressions...not much. Sat outside amongst fag ends, yapping (screeching) dogs, and tatty table cloths but never mind. Food was ok ish nothing special and all a bit slopped on a plate. Odd bit...some big big guy who works there decided to chat to us for way too long, we got told all his problems, family (who he hates) schooling (he was a teacher) etc etc. Hell we wanted a quiet lunch. Staff should be polite (the lady was) but he was way way over the top, couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave.

We visited Plumcake today as a table of 9 for a family birthday breakfast. Kath and Anna were as welcoming and attentive as ever and we all thoroughly enjoyed Kaths homemade food. Kath went the extra mile (as she normally does) with one of her famous scones with a candle in for the birthday boy ! We are regular visitors to Plumcake and feel very lucky to have such a lovely, family run, friendly cafe on the doorstep.

Visited with friends for lunch - what a beautiful quirky little place. One of our party had the homemade soup with soft bread and I myself had an open sandwich. I also recommend the homemade scones...all served by very friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you ladies...

Where to start. The soft drinks came in cans and glasses were provided, but the glasses looked as though they had just been used and not washed as they had dried milk stains and what looked like old coffee residue in. The chair cushions were so stained we had to swap the chairs. The food was brought out to us and it was man handled in front of us to show that it isn’t burnt! Wouldn’t have minded but it was manhandled with the hand without the rubber glove on. One persons food was brought when everyone else had nearly finished. A lot of us had off stomachs later on in the day.

This was my third visit to Feed since moving to the area and unfortunately, it will likely be my last when it comes to food. I decided to try their Sunday roast this time, but it turned out to be a major letdown. While my partner enjoyed her meal, my experience with the roast beef was disappointing enough that I ended up leaving the entire meal. The beef was tough, undercooked and had the unappetising appearance of something that had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The roast potatoes were equally underwhelming — dry and stale, as if they had been prepared the day before. The greens were burnt and the gravy was watery and flavorless. To their credit, the staff did ask for my feedback and offered me a free dessert, which I declined. Instead, they gave me a complimentary cookie and removed my partner’s drink from the bill. While I appreciated the gesture, I would have preferred if they had addressed the real issue — the £20 I paid for a meal I couldn't eat. Sadly, this experience has solidified my decision not to dine at Feed again. The coffee is still great, so I may return for that, but as for the food, I think I’m done.

I have been coming to this fab cafe since it opened with my children when they were younger with other mummies and have also used it as a business space. The staff are always really accommodating and since the pandemic have worked really hard to accommodate everyone they can whilst making everyone feel safe and welcome. The food is fantastic and we always recommend it to everyone. Even during a difficult time with the rules changing all the time they are still smiling and making everyone feel very welcome
