Plaza Cafe in North Norfolk

Lovely little cafe, tucked away over the road from the station, near Tesco. Very friendly and helpful staff, they looked everywhere for some pickle for the hubby's sandwich but didn't have any and were very apologetic. All day breakfast and son's chicken burger were freshly cooked and really tasty.

We are camping in the area and decided to come in for breakfast on Wednesday. There is a variety of choices on the menu for breakfast, we chose a big full English and a normal sized breakfast, we shared with our son which he was delighted with. Overall one of the best breakfasts in Sheringham- you also get a sizeable coffee (well needed after a night camping with a 3 year old). We spoke to one of the locals in the cafe and the pizzas come highly recommended so we will definitely be back to try them! The owner was so friendly and clearly a huge reason why the cafe has been open for 15+ years

Always impeccable service & amazing food, very reasonably priced & highly recommended. The breakfast & Turkish coffee were amazing. In the evening the kebabs are equally as good

Excellent. 3 Large Breakfasts all flawless. Impeccably clean and well presented. Good Value at just over £10 per head with drinks and a few extras (tomatoes and black pudding). 100% will be coming back.

Lovely hidden Gem, arrived and service was very quick! Lovely coffee, great food at a great price. Very friendly owners. Great small buisness, worth a visit. Would recommend the chicken mayo baugette!

I only bought a mug of tea. I asked for an extra cup of hot water. I had back pain and wanted to sip it after medication as soothing. He wanted to charge me £1 for the water. I refused to pay and left it. I had just started my tea and was told I couldn’t sit there and they were closing in 10 minutes I needed to drink my tea and leave. Horrible attitude.

A decent little cafe with friendly owners, cheerful young waitresses and clean tables. The food is cafe food and is excellent and affordable. Come here probably once a month and never been disappointed. As for rats in the food storage area, reported by one reviewer, what a load of nonsense, it's a clean well run cafe with decent people running the place. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good cafe meal at a good price and served with smile.

Ordered 3 meals and 3 drinks today . Tea , & coffee arrived along with a can of cold drink . 40 minutes later food arrived .2 breakfasts and 1 bacon cheese burger and chips., Baked bean slopped all over sides of breakfast plates , egg over cooked , looked like it had been involved in a car crash. Toast cold. Cheap nasty tasteless burger . Had to ask for condiments and cutlery as none offered . Also tables in wrong position in the cafe as we kept having to move for the waitress as she couldn’t get passed people in queue ordering teas and coffees to take away . Other tables too close together . This could have been to maximise seating for the 1940s weekend but not enough space. Really badly organised set up and also a small child sitting behind the counter ( obviously one of the staffs children) who could have easily been burnt by hot drinks being carried over him to take to the tables. It’s a cafe not a crèche !! Won’t return to this venue . I felt sorry for the staff as they liked so unhappy and didn’t know if they were coming or going as they couldn’t easily deliver food to customers in cafe or outside .

Made me ill The sausages were off, the bit I are repeated on me all day, hash brown was burnt eggs overcooked when I complained he said charge him double no one else complained! My jack Russell indicated that they had rats in the bin area. The waitress said "oh dear that is our food storage area too We have cafe breakfast all over England and Wales this was easily the worst.

Sat outside on lovely day with our dog. We had all day breakfasts, 1 vegetarian breakfast and a bacon egg cheeseburger and everyone really loved their meals. The service was excellent and people really friendly.

Been here many times before always found the staff polite and food very nice. But this time we had a very bad experience the waiter took our order which was an all day breakfast and 2 teas 40 minutes had past and no breakfast arrived teas all drunk up went to the counter to pay and said we have not had the breakfast the chef said sorry he mislaid our order we said we didn't want the breakfast now as we had to go sorry but he didn't mislay the order he was to busy doing takeaway orders for his friends and he charged us for the teas sadly to say i wont be going back there.

Stopped here for a sandwich and a drink I had a prawn sandwich bread really fresh husband had a chicken baguette it took a while but was made fresh and we were offered water for the dog

We had a hot chocolate and a coffee with a tea cake and chips. Drinks and food was lovely and service great.

Ordered food and it took so long we caught our next train out of town before it arrived. Others customers having the same problem.

After receiving a flyer we thought we'd give Plaza a chance as we use a competitor , Zhara's 2/3 times a week and always found it to be excellent. However we were swayed into using Plaza because they offered free delivery. On opening our containers we were mortified to see the very small portions and the state of the 'salad' which was miniscule and limp. I had a doner kebab which was stone cold, hard and tasted of cardboard, my partner's was equal in taste but her Sheish (?) was about as big as mince globules. Overall it was extremely disappointing and will return to Zhara's on Saturday where we can expect quality and quantity, Ok we have to walk 500 yards but well worth it in any weather. It would appear that the previous reviews relate to a former owner as one says they had to ctch an early morning train but Plaza doesn't open until 4pm. As with the other comments I suggest they walk across the road and try Zhara's.

We have been eating there for years and especially love the homemade pizzas. Now, we enjoy ordering them for delivery. Lovely owner and his family, delicious pizzas, best ever. The only thing that let it down was the rude delivery driver, otherwise would have given five stars.

We had lunch here twice during a one week stay in Sheringham. The food took a little while to arrive as all was cooked to order. Omelettes were particular good. Service was friendly and efficient.

I had to catch a very early morning train from Sheringham to Norwich, and then to Stansted airport. The train was cancelled, it was cold and raining cats and dogs. The Plaza was open, I had a delicious coffee and a lovely chat with the owner, who said relax, I'll let you know when the next train is due. There were a few other regular customers who all received a warm welcome. I left with one of their delicious scones for my journey. If coronavirus allows eventually, I'll return for another coffee and scone, or something else from the menu.

I called in for a drink and to catch up on emails. Service very efficient. Staff pleasant. Prices good value. Good range of choice for the size of establishment and it felt nice and relaxed, not "greasy spoon" and not packaged chain. Outdoor seating under cover as well as indoor. Convenient location between tesco and the station but just off the road so not too noisy. Seemed to have a group of regulars which is further testament to quality.

5 adults. We had 3 pizzas, chicken wings, chicken strips, chicken kebab and fries! All absolutely lovely, tasty and hot. All for £50. Very good. Thanks.

Just reopened after lock down.Now have a new menu and are doing takeaways.we ordered two pizzas for 5.30 today and went to collect and the pizzas was already done and waiting and very hot.The food is brilliant and cooked with fresh ingredients.The plaza was very busy when I went to collect,so if would be better to order.The staff are always polite and friendly and will be going again,worth the money xx.

food is just as good as before i plumped for the all day breakfast which was very plentiful & tasty my wife had the omelette which she enjoyed staff are very pleasant service was first class great value for money

All food cooked fresh, what a little gem this cafe is. Try there breakfast wow!. I had a toasted sandwich and it was delish., Give it a go.

Visited for the annual 1940s weekend in September 2019, we come every year and we had a lovely lunch ! The two waitresses out front were very welcoming and very fast ! The food was amazing and the drinks were served hot and promptly. Will definitely be coming again next year.

Frequent visitors to Sheringham, but had never been in The Plaza until this year. Lovely cooked breakfast - ended up going four times during the week we were in Sheringham. Very obliging staff , friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back next year.

We called here as a party of 7 adults and 2 young children. Excellent food and service, all plates cleared. Mexican burger with jalapeños, best ever. Highly recommend here,nice relaxed setting outside, as well.

I whent here with my friends, at first my friend didn’t want to go out for lunch, but because of this amazing cafe he wants to go next time!!! The staff were very nice and the food was even better! If you are visiting Sheringham, go to the Plaza Cafe!

Me and my friends went to the plaza on Saturday and we all enjoyed it we felt like we where judged when we first went in by the elders. But we ordered our food and waited. We got our food it took some time but it was ok because it was busy. When we finished we all said we would go there next time the staff where kind and welcoming and it was pretty cheap.

Whilst visiting Sheringham we were looking for a light lunch, we found the plaza on the way back to the car park , the interior was plain and simple but clean and tidy. The service was friendly, my wife ordered jacket with Tina and mayo , I had chicken burger and my daughter fish fingers. I know the food was freshly prepared I saw the guy preparing it and even chopping the salad to go with it ! The food was fresh and tasty with fresh garnish. My coffee was in a large mug and was hot ! With drinks the whole meal was£16 and the owner delighted my daughter with a complimentary lolly which kept her quiet for the next few miles of our journey. Definitely visit again

Been visiting Sheringham for the past 12 years & passed by the café many, many times without visiting. What a regret we now have, visited recently on 3 occasions & on each occasion the coffee (Latte) consumed & the food consumed (especially the home made Chilli & chips) were well beyond expectations. Parking the car isn't an issue with Tesco nearly next door with free parking!

Proper cafe with enough variety but not too much! All day breakfasts, obelus, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, baguettes and other meals. Hot drinks etc. We come every year on holiday and they remember us and are very helpful and welcoming. Yummy food. All in all, excellent.

Called in on our way to our accommodation for breakfast, cannot recommend it more highly the meal was very good and the service good - will be going there again

Great little cafe! Cheese on toast is amazing, lovely super hot cappuccino, pot of tea and a great full English. Reasonable prices and cooked to order.

We go here often. Food is always excellent and staff friendly. Delicious breakfasts, great burgers, and warming soups.

If we were still in the seventies this place would be classified ok but things have moved on from the 'greasy spoon cafe' of old! If you like the greasy spoon type of cafe this place is for you.

We arrived here just on closing in search of supper and were welcomed with a smile.We were served with fresh tasty food and nothing was too much trouble.Thank you to you your wife and new baby.

having used the plaza for a number of years and always found it a great place to stoke up on good food quick service and a bit of banter our last 2 visits where a disaster the last time we never got served so left in disgust never to return im afraid .

Staff are always friendly and the place is clean.The menu is not to bad,the breakfasts are very good value.The staff will give you something else if you don't like what's on the menu,the prices are not badly priced.

We saw this little café did pizza which we both wanted. Ordered two pizzas to take home and we both said they were delicious; will defiantly be returning. 10 out of 10 for quality and customer service. Highly recommended.

Went there today after the steam grain ride wife and mother inlaw and father inlaw had jakpots tuna mayo and i had 1\2 pounder buger and chips pot of tea and 2cold drinks food was great value flr money .

On a cold and miserable morning, 4 of us had a late breakfast here after having been on the North Norfolk Steam Train .This café is warm and cosy, the fry up that I had was well cooked, the serving size was good, the coffee was hot, and the service was friendly and cheerful.It was also good value for money.Oh, and the free Wi-Fi was a welcome bonus too !Would have no hesitation returning to this café if I'm ever in the area again.

Popped in for light lunch, very good menu, husband had gammon pineapple egg and chips which was very nice, I myself had sausage and chips and gravy which was okay - prices very reasonable

great food great service all cooked fresh while you wait no reheats very friendly staff and the full english is amazing very clean and tidy wasnt very impressed with the salad but we visited twice in a week and between the four of us tried many different dishes all great will def return when in sherringham

Popped in here on Sunday after the 40's festival, I was starving so ordered a mixed grill at £7.50. A small sausage over cooked on the outside and under cooked in the middle, 3 very small pieces of liver that were so over cooked they were impossible to cut, a very small pork loin steak that I could not cut and a few mediocre chips! Who ever thought that was a mixed grill I do not know. I left most of it, when my wife told them at the counter the man said ''Oh sorry about that''Never again, we are local people but this place will not be on our list of favourites!

We popped in here for a quick brunch as we were all starving Three of us had meals that were ok However my son had lasagne and refused to eat it I think it had been over cooked The management were apologetic & did offer something else My son didn't want to try another dish so we got a refund Which I thought was very fair

Often pop in here for coffee and a snack and the service is always good. You are welcomed and served quickly. Toasted sandwiches are good, as are chips and cheese. They also do Turkish coffee here. Large seating area outside too when weather is good.

If you're a pizza lover there's only one place to go. The café is owned by two brothers; Idris and Arif who are the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet. I can't comment on anything but the pizza as I've never had anything else.I like my pizza hot and spicy and ask them to spice it up with Scotch Bonnet and fresh green chopped chilli's. It's never a problem for them and my food is customized accordingly.I never get from anywhere else. Plaza Pizzas are the best.

Great food, quick service and friendly staff. Close to train station so if you feel hungry before or after your journey this is a good place to go.

We came here after a visit to Splash - Sheringham's Tropical Leisure Pool. The staff were great - really nice and friendly but the food was pretty bad even by cafe standards. My daughter had fish and chips and thought that a piece of battered local fish might appear but unfortunately not. It was a piece of battered processed fish bits that had been minced up and reformed. The outside was crispy but underneath was unpleasant tasting mushy batter followed by the compressed fish bits. Really quite unpleasant. Apart from that everything else was fine and the people running it were great. Just choose carefully!

My daughter uses the plaza as a benchmark to judge cafes by, and not many rank higher than the plaza. Very friendly staff and great food. Just like a cafe should be.

Came here for breakfast all food was cooked fresh but didn't have to wait too long for it. Staff very friendly accommodating for our needs, simple choice of menu but that's just what you want, good value for a hot fresh meal..

Very friendly welcome and good service. The food was plain but very tasty and good value for money. I would suggest that they serve a better quality tea though, as the drink we had was weak and tasteless.

Ate here a couple of times during our recent stay in Sheringham, It's a little out of the way (next to Tesco) but we'll worth the walk. Pizzas are all freshly made and you can see the dough being worked into shape. When the pizzas arrive they are piping hot & full of topping.

Decided to leave the dogs home alone and sneak out for Breakfast..spotted the sign for Plaza Cafe (opposite main car park in Sheringham) Full English was on our mind so ordered 3..consisted of 2 bacon,2 egg,2 sausage,mushrooms,2 tinned tomatoes and hash brown ordered as extra black pudding. Toast and pot of tea was also extra. Waited 20+ minutes for food but was well worth the wait, cooked fresh and you could see your food being cooked.Food was excellent top quality tomatoes,good bacon,eggs cooked well,lovely sausages not high quality but who cares? Big pot of tea for 3 of us. Value for money excellent. They also do other food e.g Burgers,Liver and onions, Pizza,Jackets and sandwiches e.t.c.You won't be dissapointed
