Platters Cafe in Torbay

Me & my son popped into platters for lunch. Must say the service is great & the chicken salad was amazing! My son had the big breakfast, have had quite a few in here myself too, which was perfect for his huge teenage appetite! Will definitely be back!

Patters is a local Café the kind of Café that has regulars of which I am one. It has that feel and charm about it. The meals are excellent, mostly cooked to order, there are a few pies and it is very inexpensive. If you’re going to be disappointed that it isn’t waitress service and you don't have linen napkins, then that’s not Platters fault, you’re just in the wrong place and looking in the wrong price range. If you can find fault with this place, then you are the type of person who can find fault, with anything and everything.

Accosted the local postman Jan to sort me out a goof breakfast he said go to Platters ask for the Postie special Could not manage to eat all that but had a big breakfast with capochino and orange juice . Filled me up Big Time. Nice staff clean place good food sits not too like

After having awful food where we were staying in Torquay our family of 4 headed out in the search of a decent breakfast. We asked a local postie where to get a good breakfast and he said "if you don't mind a 5 minute walk" head to Platters cafe. We did and were not disappointed, good coffee, good breakfast, staff were friendly. We walked out stuffed.

Personal amable. Cafe es pequeña y muy concurrida y ruidosa (desayuno). Tuve huevos revueltos sobre pan tostado - la tostada era encantadora y crujiente, pero los huevos me hizo cielo, lo siento. Nunca he tenido huevos revueltos donde el huevo no fue golpeado antes de cocina/llevaron juntos, así que conseguí una placa independiente de terrones de huevo blanco (amarillo) y bleurgh. No tuve tiempo para enviarlo, ya que tenía que coger un autobús desde la estación de cercanías. Mi pareja sólo tenía tostadas, y estaba bien, así como los cafés.

Would avoid this like the plague, chips were nice but the fish was swimming in grease and didn't taste very nice.

Cheap eats in this friendly cafe offering plain fare. Build your own breakfast as you like it or enjoy a range of plain and simple meals expertly cooked. We only went for breakfast but the pies being prepared for lunch looked and smelled amazing.

Best breakfast in Torquay! Always consistent with quality of food alongside a very friendly, genuine service. See you soon... (highly recommend breakfast baguette with extra black pudding) 😎

This is THE place to have breakfast in Torre. You can order it the way you want it and watch lfe going by as you eat. Not bad pricing either...

We go in platters most days for lunch because it's so close to our work. Staff are absolutely lovely and always go that extra mile for us. A really popular place, it's a down to earth cafe with real food and good prices.

I went with a client at there invitation as she said it was one of the best cafés in Torquay. I have to agree the service was excellent, the staff were really friendly and above all the food was fantastic! I look forward to going there again soon.

Good placd for proper breakfast, excellent value, good choice and nice coffee. Welcoming, down to earth cafe.

good sized portions and very reasonable prices, good service and spotlessly clean cant find a fault with the place

We just got back from two enormous portions of liver, onions and mash potatoes. I must admit that I found the 'man size' portion a bit overwhelming but the chef did say that they are very happy to do child's or even medium size portions on request. I class myself a really good cook but this liver and onions were better than I have made. They were made fresh to order (I could hear chef frying and mashing). I would say the layout of the café is 'no frills' but for visitors who like good old fashion food, they had bangers and mash, cottage pie and what looked like an all day breakfast. I would highly recommend this little café just a short walk from Torquay town centre.
