Bang on with the breakfast and spot on service.

By far the best breakfast in the bay. Me and my friends have been to most places, and platters was just brilliant. Lovely owners very friendly. Great food with a fair price. Couldnt ask for more.

Delicious food, large portions in a friendly atmosphere and a 5-star hygiene rating. Whilst we were there there was a constant stream of customers in and out for eat in and takeaway orders so clearly very popular with locals (always a good sign) Order drinks and food at the counter, all our food was made fresh to order and brought over to our table. The decor was simple and chic and everything was shiny and clean and they make the most of the space available.

My daughter & I had a vegetarian breakfast, it did not disappoint. Will definitely eat here again next time we're in town.

I don't know why I haven't been to this place sooner! Fresh and tasty food with great service. We had a tuna melt and a bacon and cheese melt, a tea and a hot chocolate. The food was fresh, well cooked, not greasy, prompt friendly service and such good portion sizes for the money. Can't wait to return.

Found this place on Google because original selected places were both temporarily closed. Very close to a 12 bus stop, brilliant food and brilliant friendly customer service. Reasonably priced. Can't fault it. Hidden gem

It was so good last time I came back again. Delicious food, freshly prepared, the chef was very friendly and the lady behind the counter seemed to be friendly with the other customers.

My good friend Leslie (aged 89) loves Platters. It's his favourite place for lunch and he took me there when I came to visit him from Swindon. What a lovely place! The food is fresh, for someone currently on a strict diet who can't have much I was so pleased that when asking for a salad they gave me a large plate with thick slices of good quality ham, beetroot, onions, peppers, tomatoes, eggs, lettuce, cucumber and carrot. Leslie always gets his 'usual' including the biggest jacket potato I have ever seen, chips, chilli, coleslaw, salad. We were busy eating for 40 minutes straight! The owners seem to know the customers and quite a few customers know each other, it's that friendly a place and a real compliment to Torquay. The prices are very competitive and the service good.

Fine food and service is to be had at Platters in Torre. The place is clean and fresh, parking can be an issue sometimes but worth the perseverance.

Lovely friendly cafe, good choice of food, excellent service, clean and well worth a trip. We ordered eggs (poached, fried and scrambled) for breakfast for 3 of us.

Me & my son popped into platters for lunch. Must say the service is great & the chicken salad was amazing! My son had the big breakfast, have had quite a few in here myself too, which was perfect for his huge teenage appetite! Will definitely be back!

Patters is a local Café the kind of Café that has regulars of which I am one. It has that feel and charm about it. The meals are excellent, mostly cooked to order, there are a few pies and it is very inexpensive. If you’re going to be disappointed that it isn’t waitress service and you don't have linen napkins, then that’s not Platters fault, you’re just in the wrong place and looking in the wrong price range. If you can find fault with this place, then you are the type of person who can find fault, with anything and everything.

My teenage daughter and her friend had the platters All day Breakfast bad I had the cottage pie with veg. It was absolutely amazing. The food was really tasty. A lovely atmosphere . We had a lovely lunch together x

Accosted the local postman Jan to sort me out a goof breakfast he said go to Platters ask for the Postie special Could not manage to eat all that but had a big breakfast with capochino and orange juice . Filled me up Big Time. Nice staff clean place good food sits not too like 👍

After having awful food where we were staying in Torquay our family of 4 headed out in the search of a decent breakfast. We asked a local postie where to get a good breakfast and he said "if you don't mind a 5 minute walk" head to Platters cafe. We did and were not disappointed, good coffee, good breakfast, staff were friendly. We walked out stuffed.

Friendly staff. Cafe is tiny and got very busy and noisy (breakfast). I had scrambled eggs on toast - the toast was lovely and buttery, but the eggs made me heave, sorry. I've never had scrambled eggs where the egg wasn't beaten/whisked together before cooking, so I got a plate of separate white (bleurgh) and yellow egg lumps. Didn't have time to send it back, as had to catch a coach from nearby station. My partner just had toast, and this was fine, as were the coffees.

Would avoid this like the plague, chips were nice but the fish was swimming in grease and didn't taste very nice.

Cheap eats in this friendly cafe offering plain fare. Build your own breakfast as you like it or enjoy a range of plain and simple meals expertly cooked. We only went for breakfast but the pies being prepared for lunch looked and smelled amazing.

Best breakfast in Torquay! Always consistent with quality of food alongside a very friendly, genuine service. See you soon... (highly recommend breakfast baguette with extra black pudding) 😎

This is THE place to have breakfast in Torre. You can order it the way you want it and watch lfe going by as you eat. Not bad pricing either...

We go in platters most days for lunch because it's so close to our work. Staff are absolutely lovely and always go that extra mile for us. A really popular place, it's a down to earth cafe with real food and good prices.

I went with a client at there invitation as she said it was one of the best cafés in Torquay. I have to agree the service was excellent, the staff were really friendly and above all the food was fantastic! I look forward to going there again soon.

good sized portions and very reasonable prices, good service and spotlessly clean cant find a fault with the place

We just got back from two enormous portions of liver, onions and mash potatoes. I must admit that I found the 'man size' portion a bit overwhelming but the chef did say that they are very happy to do child's or even medium size portions on request. I class myself a really good cook but this liver and onions were better than I have made. They were made fresh to order (I could hear chef frying and mashing). I would say the layout of the café is 'no frills' but for visitors who like good old fashion food, they had bangers and mash, cottage pie and what looked like an all day breakfast. I would highly recommend this little café just a short walk from Torquay town centre.
