Just had the best prawn baguette I’ve ever eaten! Fresh,tasty and what seemed like an entire pack of prawns! Outstanding! Can’t recommend enough!

I would rather step on a plug than eat here again. The woman is extremely rude, unfriendly and creates a horrible atmosphere. If there is a problem with anything and you politely ask, dont bother- you will only get greeted with hostility. Disgusting human being with poor people skills.

After travelling down from east Devon to visit a major retailer in Torquay we needed some lunch. I had done a bit of research on trip advisor and decided this was the place for us. There is 1hr free parking right outside, in the street, it felt warm as we entered, the staff were busy and it had a happy vibe. Lots of locals already here and quite a few popped in to take food away. The menu is a no frills one, so if you want any extras with your meal, you only have to ask, i.e. salad garnish. We had a standard breakfast, a baked potato with filling, two teas and a piece of iced flapjack. Feeling suitably refreshed I paid and found the cost to be very good value for money. As we returned to the car we still had nearly 10 mins left. To sum up, you don’t pay to park, the place is warm, the food is nice and the service is prompt.

The latte I had was amazing and the bap's are so nice. The ladies serve you with a smile and a chat while the food and drink is being prepared. I would recommend caféDelmar to all friends and family who visit Torquay.

The cold, bitter, frosty old lady who works at Delmar, (who I assume is the owner) is very ill mannered, rude and and had zero customer service skills at all. It's beyond me how people who are this disgustingly rude work with people. The younger staff are very pleasant and I always have a laugh and a joke with them- I even tip generously. I will not ever return. I run and admin many groups on social media locally of several thousand members and will certainly be posting to avoid this establishment. I've never met anyone so poorly mannered, you reep what you sew in life.

Come here alot for coffee and bacon sandwichs. Great pricing friendly staff and amazing coffee what more could you want.

We visited for breakfast, I had an excellent egg and bacon sandwich and my husband enjoyed a full English, friendly atmosphere, smiling staff, great value. We will return.

This is such a lovely cafe. I've only had breakfast here on several occasions but the other menus sound appealing too. It's fairly priced, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The cakes look good too 😊

Thank you to Mary and Dale for making my birthday so special yesterday. They always go above and beyond. Dale's chilli was tasty and lovely chips too and as to Mary's bread pudding? What can I say. DELICIOUS.

Lovely clean little cafè just out the way of the main area.Lots of choice for fresh to order cobs/sandwiches and cakes etc.Breakfast very nice and at a very reasonable price.Always busy with takeaway orders so that tells you it's good.We always come here for a sit down breakfast when in Torquay.

We loved this. We are tough giving scores for food places. A d sometimes can be brutal. Everything about the place and the food was brilliant. If we were local we'd be here all the time

Stayed in a guest house nearby room only,so we were searching for a breakfast place.Google came up with this and Wow!! what a gem.Lovely friendly,clean cafè and modern.We had the small breakfast which was absolutely delicious on each occasion and ample.The cakes and other things they sell like sandwich fillings looked mouthwatering and fresh.If in Torquay this place is well worth a visit..you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic food and great service

Cafe Del Mar is a fantastic find. My wife and I ate breakfast there twice last week, plus bought freshly made baguettes. The breakfasts were fabulous - very tastey, beautifully hot and generous portions at good value. We didn't need lunch afterwards! The baguettes also were excellent, made to order. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly, and took great care re my wife's eating allergies to ensure no cross-contamination of ingredients. Really nice, relaxed space. Can't recommend it enough - go out of your way to go there!

dale and mary got a beautiful cafe here ,very clean and beautiful decor.we met the resident doorman (LADY) the food we had was delightful. not a greasy spoon if you have the chance use it 5 mins walk off the sea front ,just visited again and stayed over for weekend .breakfast today was poached eggs,bacon on toast 😋fabulous well done dale

Amazing food along with very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome on our holiday to Torquay, during this pandemic, we had to wear our masks whilst entering the cafe Before seated and sanitiser available, felt very safe and clean. We had to make reservation for a table each time we visited. We visited 5 times 🤭😍! Thank you very much for your amazing food! X

I was a little apprehensive before entering but the staff were extremely polite and warmly welcomed myself and my party. The displayed salads looked terribly tempting and the meals we were served were of a high standard. I have already recommended this cafe to all I have spoken to. Also ... nice coffee ....

Good food at very fair prices. Staff are very friendly. The cake selection is amazing. Can get a little cozy around the lunch time rush bit it is well worth it.

Very friendly, good food and value

This place has great potential, it’s a nice venue and great that it has longer opening hours than regular cafes. However I’ve been a few times and never felt very welcome. Customers seem to be an inconvenience. The meals are a bit pricey for a cafe and the food is poor. Overall disappointing.

I used to go regularly and bèn happy but today despite my son ha ing a drink and all the friends I was with having things they said my so couldnt use the toilet because i hadnt had anything and it was for customers. He is only 3 and he was a customer. It really upset me and I won't be going back

Had a regular breakfast with tea and toast. Everything perfect and good service. Lovely setting. Nice plant shop next door with succulents and unusual plant pots. Well worth visiting also.

Have visited this cafe on a number of occasions for lunch and coffee. It’s convenient to park close to as Old Mill Road has free (but time restricted) parking. Meals have always been good.

Such a gorgeous little cafe. Incredibly good food and fantastic portions for such a reasonable price. Ate here several times during our stay. The owners were both really friendly, as were the waitresses. Highly recommended.

Waitress who apparently cannot smile to save her life, forgot an order of a breakfast so one member of our party had to sit watching everyone else eat whilst their breakfast was cooked and when it arrived,without so much as an apology, it was missing one of the items listed. I understand its a Saturday and she probably has somewhere better to be but there are a few basics to customer service, none of which were displayed. Food was OK, sausages are cheap and nasty so I'd recommend swapping it for a bit of bacon when ordering.

Without a doubt the best takeaway salad box in the bay. Literally everything you would want. I have the ham and mango chutney one.. it's to die for. Not ever stayed in the cafe as I live up the road so get food to takeaway... and its delicious. Will be back next week for my weekly salad box x

This is without a doubt the best cafe in the bay. The staff are very friendly and happy to help with any of your querys. But the best part is the food. I ordered a large fry-up and just wow.. Gordon Ramsay would be happy. Not greasy or over cooked, the food is all fresh and tastes like it's high quality. Price is fantastic. The atmosphere is clean and modern with a coffee house twist. Always seating indoors and out rain or shine and the opening hours are from 7am which is perfect to start the day (maybe not the large fry-up if you plan on a busy day) I will be returning asap and I would advise everyone i know or anyone who is looking for a brilliant cafe. This is the place to go.

This cafe is a hidden gem in Chelston. A must to visit, friendly staff, excellent food and very good prices. Visited twice this week. They offer a takeaway service as well. This is a small premises so you may have to wait for a table if busy but well worth the wait. Breakfast is served all day Along with lunch and daily specials. Excellent value for money why go anywhere else.

@Cafedelmar is a lovely local cafe in Chelston with friendly and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere with great food (Even gluten-free options for coeliacs like me). Will definitely return.

Del and Mary are two of the most friendly people you would want to meet. The food is very good, and the service second to none . Their staff (Katie and Ellie) are always very heipful although Katie is getting a little long in the tooth(turning 18 is over the hill).My only question who is this mysterious DENISE? All joking aside I would highly reccomend this eating establishment to anyone.
