Stopped off on our way to Northumberland. Good coffee, lovely friendly staff. Beautifully clean toilets. Will call again next time we are in the area,

We had had a snack in Platform One and had been pleased so we booked an afternoon tea. We didn't expect much for our tenner per head but how wrong could we be! Lovely sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, lots of mini scones with jam and clotted cream and a variety of cakes. How they do it for the money, I don't know. Really fresh and all home made. Just lovely. Thanks so much - the best tea we had whilst on holiday in Yorkshire.

I pre-booked a table for afternoon tea. On arrival this was ready on the table and it was beautifully presented. It included a lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones and small savoury items. All items were delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Excellent price too at £10 per person. Thank you for everything. Hiighly recommend.

Having been here previous And really enjoyed the service and food We were traveling past the area and thought we would pop in Well that’s what my wife thought I had arranged a week in advance for club sandwiches and some hot food Well the club sandwiches was to die for And a birthday cake for my wife 50th Cake did not disappoint it look beautiful and very well presented Just like the rest of the food They went over and beyond and my wife loved it Thank you for making the journey worth waiting for And my wife love the takeaway sandwiches and slice of cake for our journey onwards We cut the cake it was tasty and fresh Thank you for the service, the waiter was very good it was Ian the owner again , the young waitress and the owner Tracy We shall pass you on the way back For late lunch / hot food or just a snack Will call you in advance for our order

Arrived tired and hungry after a long drive down from Scotland. Had done quick internet search and were very keen to visit an independent cafe rather that a chain / somewhere at services. Arrived and sat down, quite a few customers, mainly eating cooked food. Young waitress came and informed us fairly brusquely that kitchen was closed, and here was menu. OK we thought, my wife went to toilet and I tried to order afternoon tea, “sorry, no sandwiches”. So that left tea and cake only. Little attempt to mitigate the circumstances, “we close soon etc, no sandwiches left” just NO. So we left, went into Bedale and had an absolutely excellent meal and great coffee, despite it being even later. I suspect food is good, just service let the place down, very disappointing.

Another fantastic brunch. The food and service was excellent. Although the weather was horrendous we were able to eat out under the cover of a gazebo. The wet weather certainly did not dampen our visit today. Looking forward to our next visit already

Stayed near Bedale and stopped for a cup of tea We arrived later than expected, but the owner Tracy Was So friendly and welcoming We got so comfortable we had some lunch I was gluten intolerant, tracy provided some great alternatives For me to eat A lovely light salad with things that I like It was no problem and a great gluten free cake — tasty She was very hands on and paid attention to other diners Making sure everything was ok Tracy has a good sense of humour, said normally her husband works there but he hurt his ankle Sprained it And living the life of rest , well it’s only a Sprain , sitting there waving his hand Eating and having his lollipop I was surprised as he lookEd fit enough like a 29 year old To fall over Food was very well presented, well cooked Ambience was amazing Down to earth owners Keep resting and have the lollipops

Wow what a local find! My wife and I have been here a couple of times now and each time couldn’t have been more impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly staff (it’s owned by a lovely couple who are great for a friendly chat). The breakfasts are amazing and use locally sourced produce. The cakes are all homemade and delicious, probably the best in the area, it’s easy to see why they have certificates and trophies on the walls from what I think are local fairs and competitions. The real gems are the cheese scones (again homemade) always warm and fluffy and a real treat after a long walk. Like any proper Yorkshire tearoom the prices are highly reasonable and the portions generous. I cannot recommend this place enough and urge anyone in the area to stop by for breakfast, lunch or just an indulgent snack!

We visited this establishment whilst in the area of Bedale Having the dentist appointment, And did not think this place existed, its location right next the railway Parking is available for customers only Which I presume it get great support from the local Trade businesses and locals alike Whilst we there There we did notice the cake which was being made It was fantastic We sat just outside the the frontage of the tea room And was greeted by a extremely friendly waiter ,who told us of option available Who later found out he was one of the owners , We decided to have the meat platter , and the cheese platter And scone and fresh cream , jam My wife had the home made cake Both were tasteful and soft , the scone was warm and not over cooked or burnt I notice that they do face masks for a charitable group hug And they make them in there own time to support mental awareness Platform one is a great place to eat , chill out Or if you like cakes , looks like these can do them very well We shall visit again very soon I shall get them to make my wife’s birthday cake Thank you

Very helpful after our plans we're cancelled due to covid, these lovely people were more then happy to help us out last minute, and prepared us an afternoon tea for a family member. Very helpful and happy staff, lovely food, no faults. Made it a lovely birthday celebration. Couldn't ask for anything more. Many thanks. We will be definitely returning again soon!

We dropped in after watching the trains go by and enjoyed coffee and some very good home baking. The food was staff were friendly and the surroundings bright and cheerful. Good value. The cafe provides picnic food for walkers and railway aficionados.

Mid-week visit for lunch. Pleasant surroundings and welcoming host. Had the light breakfast at lunchtime. Arrived promptly and was nicely presented. Food was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Also sampled the cakes of which there was a good selection. All in all a very nice lunch and good value.

I have visited this cafe quite a few times with various members of my family. Being a local, I can say with some certainty that this is the most family and dog friendly cafe in bedale. The cafe owners are so welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. We enjoy the breakfasts and lunches but my favourites are the scones and cakes!! There is always something new to try on the menu. On Wednesday mornings they have toys out for toddlers.

The food served is amazing and the owners are incredibly friendly. The food is reasonably priced. I had the breakfast and the chef was happy to swap out what I did not like for a substitute. Would gladly go again!

A lovely couple offer fab breakfasts, lunch and sweet treats by the railway. Plenty of parking for bikes with both indoor and outdoor seating. Had a breakfast wrap filled with eggs, bacon, sausage and hash brown. Delicious range of cakes on the counter.
