Platform in Glasgow City

Un lieu surprenant. Restaurant, restauration rapide, bar, on ne sais de quoi rentrer cet établissement Une chose est sur c’est qu’il est à découvrir et atypique. On y manger bien à des tarifs convenable et le personnel et sympa.

Was booked as a starting point for my brother's stag night. Good ambience, good selection of beers and tasty "small plates" food- recommended the honey fried halloumi! Nice addition of a multicoloured Oor Wullie! Staff very attentive, and delivered the correct food and drinks to our whole party- quite difficult when there's a large group

IN BRIEF: This location can't decide whether it is a restaurant or bar/nightclub. Food was great, setting was excellent, but the ambience was really poor and not suitable for the time or the clientele. Not recommended. We booked Platform for dinner on a Friday evening. When we arrived at 7pm we noticed that the music was pumping (à la nightclub level with a DJ playing) and we were seated directly underneath one of the speakers. When we were literally struggling to hear each other across the table, we asked to be moved. Which granted, we were - eventually. However, the music was so loud that moving only made the sound experience slightly better and bearable. To be honest, had it not been Friday evening - we would have left to go somewhere else. However, we stayed and ordered our food. The staff were excellent and did everything they could to accommodate - and seemed to understand the quandary. Even they struggled to hear to take orders from our own, and other tables. The 'street food' in small-plates (not literally) was really good and well made. But sadly the ambience detracted from the overall experience. It was clear that our party wasn't the only one feeling as we did. The age demographic in the location didn't seem to dovetail with the music choices, volume or DJ selections. So, if you are looking for a nice, good quality place to eat with friends, to enable you to have good food and chat over dinner - then Platform is absolutely not the place to select in Glasgow - unless you can take the food away and eat is somewhere else. The location needs to decide whether it is a restaurant or a bar/nightclub. The fact the staff told us at 9pm that there was no longer table service, and it had now turned to bar service - indicates the miss-match of the venue (whatever it decides it is). My rating is purely for the food and the staff attitude. However, sadly, for such an historic location in the City of Glasgow - this is non-return venue for me, and if you are looking for a nice restaurant in Glasgow then I'm afraid it would not come with my recommendation.

This place is frankly phenomenal. We attended the VIP event on 18 April, and it was LITERALLY the best night we have ever had. Where to start? Drinks reception, unlimited cocktails, phenomenal food - oysters, venison, steak burgers, pasta, fish n chips, haggis neeps n tacos, and loads more! Games to play - artistes, drag stars, a rock band, DJ Sets, face painting, photo booth, this place had the LOT! The staff were phenomenal also - special thanks to Lauren Mackenzie who was outstanding!! We will never forget the experience and will be back!

This place really exceeded my expectations. We went to watch a six nations game and it was great. Food was delicious. Only negative is that it was on the pricier side.

Food was enjoyable and service was good. Sadly when we were leaving we noticed a dog sat up at a table. Staff said absolutely nothing. Dogs eat faeces and lick their own backside. It’s absolutely not acceptable to have dog sat at the table. We will never return.

Absolute garbage. Platform used to be great, different food vendors etc. Buffalo chicken not far off from China Buffet King. My mouth may never recover. Toilets boggin from the Arches days. Service slow. Tunes shocking… ‘Broken strings’… think they took the aux from Superdrug.

Great atmosphere, staff very attentive and a fabulous building. The railway arches are stunning. Pizzas and Korean chicken were excellent and there was a good range of beer.

The food here was great - we order way too much. The service was efficient but didn’t hover over you like in some places. This is a great option for trying new things as it’s all street food so can be enjoyed like tapas shared over the table. The salt and pepper cauliflower is a must. They were even nice enough to put the meat from our charcuterie board in a box for our doggos which was nice. We went on a Friday so all plates weee £5 - great value for money!

Second time visiting and again Platform did not disappoint! Food was great and arrived quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive. I used to frequent the Arches and was disappointed when it shut its doors but it’s really great to see such a brilliant venue being utilised well! If you are thinking of visiting I highly recommend the Korean fried chicken. There is not a single thing on the menu I wouldn’t enjoy!

This was my first time here, we were out for a friend's birthday and it is both family and dog friendly which was ideal for our group. The amount of space you had was great. I was driving so unfortunately didn't get to try any cocktails, but my other friends kept ordering them so they must have been good! Hubby and I ordered some food, we got a pizza to share and Buffalo chicken sliders, they were so tasty! I'm dying for more sliders.

came here for a works night out, we had the downstairs bar hired out, the venue was great- super centrally located and modern. The food we were served was unreal! sesame chicken bites, beef tacos, fries etc. The buffet was great and different from any other usual buffet. Drinks cheap. Will defo come back here for dinner and drinks before heading out into town

The venue met every expectation in terms of food, service and friendly staff at my son’s wedding.The atmosphere was brilliant, well organised by Kathryn and her fantastic team. I would highly recommend this venue for any celebration.

At last there's an affordable eaterie providing interesting food for those with special dietary needs which also caters for the carnivores! This makes going out with a group of friends so much easier! No complaints. The venue is spacious. It's suitable for a drop in lunch. The covid precautions were strictly adhered to. We will be back soon!

Staff v touchy and pushy on Covid measures. Cool place inside. Food unpleasantly underwhelming. Food cheaper and staff a lot better elsewhere locally. Btw the home made focaccia is dreadful. Not again for us.

A rather disappointing venture back to this old haunt. Staff were very direct at the door; i understand the need for covid measures, but there's no reason not to handle it in a friendlier fashion, especially when the patrons are being perfectly cooperative. It felt like we were a bit of a nuisance before we'd even got through the door, just by the way it was handled. Also i'm fine with having my temperature tested, but i'm certain the device also took a snapshot, which if that is the case they should really be informing people before entry. I don't fancy having my mugshot on any database without prior consent. Then the maitre' d on the desk wasn't very attentive, a menu was thrown down on our table and we were left to our own devices. It was like a spoons but louder and more costly. I'm not sure what they intended to do with this place, but they've missed the mark. Decor was fine, music was meh, but ultimately lacking in a positive, friendly atmosphere, which is what The Arches was once all about.

Great venue (huge!), My order was taken quickly and the food was served swiftly. Thanks to Kieran for looking after me (I must have looked lost, wandering around!). Portions are a really decent size, they the Patas Bravas! Probably best to pre-book, a couple of groups got turned away at the door.

Great venue with so many delicious food and drink options! The vibe is really fun and I'd love to come back with a group of friends. It was a little slow to be served food at times, as this couldn't be ordered through the app, but it was a very busy night!
