Took to long for food ordered a wrap with fries and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. 45 minutes we had to wait .

This is also called The Rattler on maps but is called Platrorm33 with its previous name. We were visiting the area and needed to find somewhere to eat. We had not eaten there before, so we thought it looked interesting, so we gave it a try. We will not be returning. We ordered for three people, 2 adults and one child. This cost almost £45. Myself and grandson only had soft drinks. I will try to give structured feedback, but I feel I should point out some issues that could be rectified to help make it a better place to visit. The first booth we tried was opposite the bar. It was covered in spilt drink stains, which could be cleaned with a steamer or even a samp cloth and soap. It looked awful, so we moved to another that was clean. My daughter (adult) ordered at the bar, and the staff were lovely with her. They had a laugh and a joke and made her feel welcome. We had our drinks and waited for our food. It wasn't too busy, and some people who came in 20 mins after us got their food before us. After this, my daughter asked about our order. They said we were next on the grill, but other orders still came out before ours. In total, we waited about an hour for our food. We ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, pulled pork wrap and chicken strips with dips. My grandson liked his chicken strips. He chose this as he didn't like the children's options. My daughter gave him some of her chips to share as this doesn't come with it. I had the wrap, which came with chips. The chips were OK, just a bit cold. The wrap, I could not finish. It was mostly sauce with a mushy texture. It would have been nicer if it had more of a pulled pork texture as it felt like eating baby food. You barely had to chew. My daughter could not eat her burger at all. The bacon was with very thick, uncooked fat, which was chewy. The bottom of the bun was soggy and dropped to bits. She took two bites and just couldn't eat it. She said it was of such poor quality meat with an unusual taste and texture. She fe lt it was lesser quality than a roadside burger van. With this being £11.95 you'd expect much better quality, this is a price you'd pay in an inner city bar and is far lesser the quality. I've added pictures of this to show how awful it was. Before leaving, I popped to the bathroom, There were no working locks on the two toilets that were available and no toilet paper. Luckily, I always carry tissues in my bag. The doors to enter the toilet you have to stand in the middle and hold both doors at the same time. Otherwise, you'll get trapped in between the doors. It could also benefit from a deep clean. I will say again, the staff were nice and the best bit about visiting but the place needs some cleaning and repairs and the food is terrible

Great medium cost restaurant on the promenade. Relaxed atmosphere inside with multiple TVs.

Popped in by chance today and so pleased we did. As a multi award winning restaurant/bar owner I have to give you my honest opinion on our visit. Staff were super friendly and efficient. We had cruzcampo and cider what was spot on and opted for the carvery. I have to say that was the best carvery we have ever had. Meat, veg and gravy along with the choice of options on display was delicious. Honestly, i would like to say well done to the full team for an excellent visit. I'm sorry you had some previous negative experiences and I understand yous are now under new management and trying to build back up a good reputation but our visit was well above 5 stars. Yous have definitely cracked it! We live quite far away but will definitely return. Keep up the good work team.

Been here a couple of times just because the location is handy but everytime it has been awful. It says on the Facebook page “serving coffee, traditional pub food, cocktails and much more”. 1. The coffee machine was never working when I went and they didn’t seem bothered to fix it. Maybe it’s fixed now but for a while you could only get an instant coffee or tea of out of a kettle. 2. The “traditional” pub food was horrendous. They need a new chef in that kitchen as the food was always cold or mid-warm at best, there was a hair found twice in our chicken burger on 2 separate occasions. And I know somebody else who has also had that same issue. We definitely will not be going back. Also waiting time for food was 40+mins when there was just like 2 tables in at the time. Clearly the kitchen can’t handle more than 2 tables at a time. 3. Some of the staff there are awful. I believe it was the manager with an attitude problem as I heard the bar staff say that person was the floor manager or something? Anyways the lad with the pony tail I’ve now seen argue and shout at other staff members on believe separate occasions I have been in. I believe it was directed at the bar staff. There is a time and a place to argue with your staff members and it is not in front of customers! Very unprofessional and off-putting. If he treats his staff like that god knows what he must be saying behind customers backs 🙄.

Great food quickly served. Not many in there Monday lunchtime. Well worth a visit.

What a fabulous place carvery was one if not the best we have had.

I need a trip to the dentist after eating the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, it was overcooked by about a week. The salad they promised in the menu consisted of a couple of wilted iceberg leaves. The salt and pepper squid came without the sweet chilli sauce and half the order came 20 mins after the rest of the food (had to ask twice for it). The staff were pretty clueless, wandering about with plates of food with no idea which table they were supposed to go to. Pretty shoddy experience in all and it wasn't even busy.

Awful, staff were fighting and arguing, half the menu was unavailable including cocktails and what was served was rock hard and inedible, clearly just thrown in a microwave and zapped to death! Avoid

Sundays are carvery’s only despite leaving full food menu out on the tables. As it didn’t look ok great we chose elsewhere.

Now renamed 'The Rattler', a name by which it had always been referred to locally.

Was really awful ,no organisation for taking orders or serving the food, I asked for a sandwich with a bun fries and colalaw this is what I got

We visited here last night and ordered 4 ciabatta sandwiches firstly it was not a ciabatta but a treble sandwich on ordinary white bread which was very stale and hard on one side and the corners we ordered blt x2 which was cold and the lettuce was non existent and only 1 piece of tomatoes on the whole sandwich in total I was charged £46 for the 4 sandwiches and chips this was disgusting the food was atrocious and 1 was left on the side they'd forgotten until we asked by which time they fetched the 1 standing there for 10 mins hence cold sandwich and chips when I mentioned to the guy hey this is not ciabatta he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away my advice is do not got here the food is shocking the service is diabolical and the prices are an absolute rip off for just a bread sandwich not the speciality bread they state on menus shocking we left almost all the food and when I told him to return mine he refused and u will not get a refund the place is disgusting ripping people off....

Visited Easter Sunday with friend for food and drink. Ordered chicken chilli wrap. Chicken overdone, felt as though it could break a tooth. Chips warm. Menu not the best. Mains were mainly fish dishes. No one asked us if everything was fine either. Not overly impressed.

Had an average breakfast here once. Main reason for low rating is the way they've decided to treat their staff and take money from them that they were owed.

Very dark and dingy food wasn’t the best. Smells of wet dog and to top it off upon arrival i payed and displayed for 1 hour as the machine would only take £1 per hour had to leave my table to put another £1 in meter only for 10 days later a parking fine to which i have 14 days to pay £60 or it doubles ive emailed the company to get a generated email back saying we reply within 35 working days cant afford it to double son I will have to pay and David the Manager want nothing to do with it or offered any help horrible place worse food and ignorant staff wont be back

Has to be the dirtiest place I have ever been food was terrible at best glasses were absolutely scruffy one to forget might have caught this place on a bad day but don't think sonot be going back any time soon.

Decent food but I am furious after being hit with a parking charge notice for apparently not paying for parking when I did. On 10th December I put £4 in pound coins into the car park meter, entered my registration correctly and placed ticket on windscreen. Now on the 23rd December I've been hit with a £100 fine! I emailed the pub for help with this matter but got no response, I'll not be returning.. I am appealing the parking charge notice but how can I prove I paid if I don't still have the ticket, it was 3 weeks ago.

Lovely fish and chips, however it is a bit overpriced, lovely place though and staff was good, my friends chocolate cake was very nice he said

Food was decent but I ordered 2 adult meals and 2 childs, I was charged for 3 kids! I got the money back not a problem the staff looked like there couldn't be arsed the head chef was bad mouthing his own food and there didn't even clear our table after 20 minutes of finishing our food and it wasn't like there were rushed of there feet either. No heating on either, and customers ended up clearing there own table by bringing multiple glasses up to the bar

The food in here used to be amazing. It has really gone down hill. The beef was dry and overcooked. The selection of sides has disappeared with no cauliflower or cauliflower cheese. The service for drinks is really slow considering the staff that work there. (Food serving is fast)

What a lovely place! We went about 1pm on a Sunday and it was rammed but we went back an hour later and glad we did! The staff were very friendly and the carvery was amazing! Huge portions of meat and all the trimmings were spot on. Dog friendly as a bonus - definitely going back!

It was my dogs birthday so went to the beach for a good walk. Like this pub as it’s so dog friendly love the little hooks in the booths so you can loop your dog lead on. Ordered hot beef sandwich for me and bacon for the dogs. My beef sandwich was filled with loads of beef enough for me plus spare for the dogs.

Some good, some bad. First up, the burger and chips was great value, and the chips were superb. It was a nice environment but hollow. 7pm, Tuesday and looked like they were packing up for the night. The multi TV screens had silent sky news on, but worst of all, the pub had music over the pub speakers, which was conflicting with a sound system in the kitchen. I can't believe the barman didn't do something about it (yeah, I know I should have complained) So hence just 3 out of 5.

Not many people out mid-week, very quite

Went for a drink 1st time around to see what the place was like. Then a couple of weeks later, had a late afternoon meal - which was lovely. Even have dog blankets for the sofa chairs, for your dog to sit on - obviously. Looking forward to going back there. Beach is lovely......

We've just been there for a carvery style Sunday lunch it was gorgeous, the choice of meat was roast beef turkey gammon or pork and sausage to boot ,all beautifully cooked so tender it melted in my mouth put that with freshly cooked roasties and a mountain seasonal vegetables all rounded of with Yorkshire puds and proper gravy. I'm off for a sleep .( I'll be back ) PS my wife Has mobility we found access was easy and there was room to park her scooter at the and of the table.

First time eating hear and read some dreadful reviews. The board outside said dog friendly and we had walked the coastal path and we're starving. We sat outside on the tressel tables and staff and service were fast, polite and efficient. The food was hot and excellent, I had steak/ale pie, chips and gravy, which was top notch 👍 my wife said her fish and chips were excellent. Our dog wolfed down the doggy beef carvery, which was a great idea and very welcomed. Food was good value and would definitely recommend a visit after/during a long coastal path walk.

Was looking forward to a lovely meal after a walk a long the beach. It was nearly 7pm so we were hungry. Ordered chilli con carne, cheeseburger but without the bun, and a child's chicken strips. After a while, we were told they had ran out of rice for the chilli so the only option was to have it with chips. When the food came, the chicken strips were nuggets which was disappointing and the chips were very greasy. The cheeseburger came, was very small and came with a huge portion of chips which nearly covered the burger. No salad or coleslaw was given which was stated. By the time there was someone to ask about it, it was just too late. Presentation awful, slow and lack of, service. Will be going to the fish and chip place in future.

The bar service was brilliant, couldn't fault it, the bar was clean and welcoming. However fhe food rrqlly let it down. The chicken was dry and tough to cut, the burger was tasteless, onion rings were burnt and the chips were a real let down. Overall very disappointment. The overall plate appeal was dire, the photo speaks volumes. Will not be returning

Decided on fish and chips after being told there was nothing else left on the menu. Staff had a full on chat with each other whilst serving us. Meal was delivered to 2 different tables before getting to us. It was greasy and stank of old grease . Wasn’t cheap either . Iv sent a message on their Facebook page and they haven’t bothered to answer

Went at opening time at 10am. Pub was empty. Lovely and friendly staff. Just as my meal came I had to leave the staff offered to let me take it away. Food was lovely.

Used to be great but definitely must have new owners/ chefs. Service was poor, the bar staff continued their convocation until they were done whilest I stood at the bar waiting to order, when ordering you could tell the staff just couldn’t be bothered. Barely nothing on menu as waiting for a delivery however when food did come everything tasted the same and had an awful greasy/ old fat taste and smell. When I asked for cutlery I was told to get it my self… poor quality food, poor service.

1st time visiting, food was good, waited a little while considering it wasn't really busy.

We got to the pub at 10.30 ordered two breakfasts, one with mushrooms one without. Waited half an hour drank our tea, then heard the chef say stop ordering breakfasts as he couldn’t keep up. When ours arrived none had mushrooms on, the bacon was over cooked, hash brown cold, this cost £19 & was a total disgrace, don’t think we’ll ever go back & there wasn’t many people in

Waited over an hour for food made excuses they were busy. Rest of family had a carvery and were finished well before I was served to receive a small child's portion of fish and chips not happy.

It is a very interesting looking place from the outside, quite welcoming and comfortable inside with plenty of space. Dog friendly and clean, if a little chilly in places from the air-conditioning. Carvery counter looked good and appetising: Sadly, not though. Beef was stringy, as if pulled, possibly braised, certainly not roast. The turkey had a weird, unpleasant taste as if basted in rancid fat or oil. The vegetables were OK , particularly the roasts which were very good as was the gravy (which was fortunate as it was all we managed to stomach)! Maybe we were there on an off day, but we won't visit again and urge potential diners to be cautious before ordering a meal.

Paid for carvery, went to get our meal no meat left that we wanted to eat and only the dregs of the other meats and vegetables available. Ordered from the main menu was not the best.

Visited with family hoping for a quick bite to eat and massively let down.The pub wasn’t even busy and it still took 50minutes from the order to table. When questioned the staff at the 30 min point we were told it would still be another 10 mins without any apology.We only ordered a burger and two meat sandwiches.Would not recommend to anyone or be back unfortunately.

Not the best experience this time. Waited over a hour to recieve food from time of ordering. (Pizza for children is mircowave £1 version so stay clear.) Beans came out with meals and looked like they had been in the Sahara Desert. Obviously they'd been sitting under heat lamp while everything else was prepared and totally dried out. Replaced no problem for beans with actual liquid included. Sadly the children couldn't have dessert as nothing available for them. No icecream as per the menu or alternative offered. I was told to go to another business along the road but that wasn't obviously wasn't included within the cost of their meal. Scampi nice, chips looked awful but tasted devine. During holidays I would highly recommend they supply crayons etc to keep kids occupied, having menus to colour but nothing to colour with was disheartening for them. And finally toilet seat missing from ladies bathroom, very unhygienic. Staff lovely and attentive but let down in other ways. Definitely won't be rushing back.

To be fair, we were eating early and it was really quiet. The carvery finishes at7pm so the only potato option was chips... In saying that they were the best chips I've had in a long time, fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. The prices are super reasonable but the portions are just too huge! Would definitely come again

Great location and really nice beer garden at the rear. Unfortunately the food was a massive letdown. The portions were small, overpriced and my beef sandwich was cold. They brought a replacement... which was also cold! Kids pizzas were microwaved frozen Chicago town pizzas! They refunded me in cash for the sandwich, which was fair enough, but just a very disappointing experience overall. It seems like if you aren't getting the carvery there's zero effort on the a la carte options.

It was nice that the bar was dog friendly and even had plenty of dog bowls for your furry friend to get a drink. The only thing that let it down is, there were still full of empty bottles and glasses giving the area we sat at an untidy look.

We arrived at 7.10 hoping to try the carvery. Thankfully we were too late. The place is grubby and dark and dingy. We has a drink and I put the glasses back on the bar , meanwhile 3 staff totally ignored us. No interest in customers.

popped in for bite to eat, not expecting full carvery, but wow, very nice indeed had beef was very tender with a massive Yorkshire pudding and help yourself for all the trimmings. Great prices Great food friendly staff . also, as dog owners ourselves, we love the idea that how dog friendly the place is from blankets for dogs to sit on and food for them ..

We liked the look of the outside ,thought it was querky, so decided to have breakfast here ,we were well surprised when we went it ,it was lovely set out , lovely food and friendly staff.

⚠️ AVOID ⚠️ If you're coming here to trying out the carvery do not bother. The food quality was very poor besides the mash and swede / turnip. The meat was bland and quite stiff. Don't get me started on the mint sauce as that's the worst tasting thing ever. It's not even the best stuff it literally taste like mouthwash!! What is more disgusting was that there were MENS TOILETS right next to the FOOD COUNTER, this will literally put you off your meal!!!!! £12.50 for a Sunday carvery. If you want a decent meal, cheaper and have a good time go to Toby Carvery!

We were on table 11 at 1545 we had ordered a cheese burger meal for our son and 2 standard carverys. We were told the burger meal would take 15 - 20 mins so if we wanted to eat together as a family we should give it 15 - 20 mins before getting up for the carvery. We left it till 1615 and got up for the carvery. The gammon was a tray of stringy fatty meat, the beef was really dry. I asked if they were bringing more meat out. They said no, that's all there is. There were only a few roast potatoes left in the tray that looked pale, unappetising, and had black bits on. Which looked like they had been fried in 6 months old chip pan fat. This didn't look like it was worth the £10.50 so we asked for our money back instead. We then went back to our table (11) and said we would wait for our sons cheese burger meal. At 16.45 we had waited an hour and no staff came and said they were sorry for being late or even if they were still serving ... we were told 15 - 20 mins originally. I went and got a refund for that meal too and consequently wasn't even given an apology. Disgusting service, your staff are unprofessional. One of them was covered in paint serving customers and when I asked for the refund for the burger meal, one of your female staff cockily replied saying they're bringing it out the kitchen now. I have never had such poor service in my life and just to let you know I've never made a complaint ever, so even when I have recieved bad service, I am not one to complain. After a stroll my partner, sister and niece thought we’d pop in and have lunch here. At first it was ok. My sisters sandwich came and looked lovely with a really big salad. My partners came and the same with a huge portion of chips. I myself had the hunters chicken. At first sight was impressed with portion size and the chips where lovely. As I ate the hunters chicken the BBQ sauce had like a vinegar taste to it, I carried on wasn’t the biggest issue. But then I noticed my chicken was raw. Bright pink. Once my partner highlighted this to a member of staff all we got was ‘I’m sorry’ and then we where avoided. No refund, no gesture and not even a sincere apology. My sister then when to the toilet with my 2 year old niece and said they where filthy. Will never return and never recommend. Luckily I didn’t end up poorly.

I went to this place for dinner about 3 years ago and the food was disgusting ie greasy, smelt of old oil and poorly presented. On it was the biggest mushroom I ever seen. So I did not go back for a long time. Was recently driving by and I thought I saw a sign under new management so I decided to try it. HORRIBLE!! As I pushed the door an awful smell that I can't really describe took my breath away. So I had a quick and left. I will never go there again

I travel from Preston in Lancashire to the north east regularly and always come here for what I have always considered the best carvery in the north but we visited here on Monday 7th June at 2.30pm and there was only Gammon and the ends...

The strong smell of urine in the doorway should have given us a clue. My wife and I called midweek teatime for a carvery. As we were stopping in the caravan site over the road. We were the only two customers in the building. I went to the bar and ordered a coffee and a soft drink and a small carvery for my wife and a regular carvery for me. I walked to the table where my wife was waiting. It was grubby and sticky. And the hanging light feature was full of cobwebs. We decided to make the most of it and walked over to select our carvery. I don't think anyone had been in for a while ( maybe all day ?) The two meat joints were wrapped in foil, and all the lids were on the veg. A member of staff came over and started removing the lids. We didn't wait for him to get them all off. Everything looked like it had been stood hours. The mashed potatoes were sort of dark grey and crusty, and the mushy? Peas were almost black. And something I think might have been parsnips once upon a time was starting to curl. We asked for a refund and to be fair. Once the " supervisor " had returned from wherever within the building he had been. He paid us back in cash without question. It saved us having to wait days for it to be returned to our bank card. So we finished our ( non- refunded) drinks and left, and to be honest. Even though I'm married to a Geordie. It's not a venue we shall revisit. ( by the way, the one star for food is because there is no zero option)

Liked this pub, service was great, staff very friendly. Selection of beers and spirits. Didnt eat there so can't comment on the food but did look good.

Trying to order food at 5.30 was very hard couldn't hear the bar tender over the singer was way to loud couldn't have a conversation come regular but will never return this time again came away with headache. I'm a patron of performing arts you need to tame the volume 👎

Worst meal Iv ever had ordered beef sandwich chips with gravy - beef came in two slices of buttered bread 🤢sent it back and ask for it in a bun - the beef was thicker than the bun and cold - enough chips to feed the pub and also cold so at least they were consistent- returned the meal - the barman did explain to us that the chef had gone home sick I’m just hoping the rest of my family haven’t gone home sick too with what little they ate off their plates !
