Reasonable priced items and generous portion sizes. Pizza bases are all either gluten free or made vegan suitable. Very nice!

I noticed that Planet Pizza had a few offers available, so as it was a Tuesday I decided to try their ‘Pizza & Pint’ offer. I thought I would go to my nearest restaurant. There are 2 in Bristol so I chose the one near Clifton Down Shopping Centre (on Cotham Hill). It was easy enough to find. The small restaurant was quite empty. I ordered the Meteorite pizza which is served with a choice of salad or chips as well as a Pint of Italian premium lager. I though the 9” Pizza was tasty but nothing special, it didn't look or taste that it had been cooked in a wood Fired oven. I found the base slightly greasy. The pint of lager was pleasant. Overall I would say that the ‘Pizza & Pint’ offer is excellent value.

The overall atmosphere of the place is relaxing and the staff are very attentive and happy to deal with dietary requirements (we bought in our own soya free vegan cheese). The gluten free base is the best we have ever encountered it wasn't crumbly, it didn't fall apart and it tasted like a real pizza. All of the toppings were cooked to perfection. Loved the tunes played too. This is currently our favourite place to eat!!

We ate here on a Saturday evening, having successfully booked a table only a couple hours earlier, although it was full/reserved the whole time we were there. Good food served very promptly, and you can see through to the kitchen so you know just how fresh the pizzas are! There looked to be some great offers for your money at other times too - would recommend.

I ve heard many good things about this place, but now I know it's overrated.I ordered vegan pizza and was expecting crunchy base topped with loads of veggies. Unfortunately the base was quiet soft, with micro portion of veggies and half block of grated cheapest vegan cheese.Tasted only of that cheese, my stomach was complaining for next 24h. Guys,if you would like to serve good pizza, you should learn from someone who does it well,e.g. Pepe Nero or Napolita.

I've been here a couple of times now and its a reliable favourite for a decent pizza at a good price. Simple but pleasant settings in a restaurant that is not being crowded with chairs and tables to fill. The lunch time deal is hard to beat for value for money and I can vouch that they don't skimp on the pizza toppings compared to the full price. Not sure what they do to the pizza base, but its a thin base and its almost as if they also fry it, but it still tastes epic. Defo worth a visit

I've been coming here every six months or so, for a few years, now. If you consider how many eateries there are in Bristol, that's being pretty loyal!Being here on a quiet week-day evening last month, was, true to form, an absolute pleasure.Unhurried, polite and friendly service, nice surroundings and great food. Reading some other reviews (though of course taste being an entirely personal thing) I'm surprised to see one pizza described as the worst ever tasted. That certainly is not my experience - my opinion is definitely at the other end of the spectrum. Great pizza bases are to be found here. The better half and myself chose to share a huge goats cheese salad, some chips and two large pizzas, which with drinks, came to around £35. For that sum, we received a mountain of food and an extremely enjoyable evening. An excellent dining experience.

I just had a very disappointing takeaway pizza from the Gloucester rd branch, the base was chewy and unpleasant. When I phoned to ask about the specials I was told they only have offers on certain days and this wasn't one, so they employ people without making them aware of what the word specials generally means. Once we cleared that up they described one special as being ground ginger, garlic and sweet chilli, it sounded strange to have a pizza with no meat or veg so I asked about it again and got the same message, lucky I didn't order it as it was a prawn pizza and I don't eat prawns.I also thought it was mean that the pizza gets 10% off but the chips, which are standard frozen from a packet for £3.50 for a handful don't.I used to love this place and its very dissapointing, I am not sure who to blame but the chef is certainly a major factor.

We used to be regular diners in the Cotham planet pizza but one particular Tuesday night we visited and had hoped to get there for the early diner special offer, however after driving around for about 15mins trying to find space to park we arrived 2mins late, the restaurant was completely empty apart from the chef and waitress(may even have been the manager) who were sat chatting and didn't even look up to acknowledge us... eventually they did I asked if we could still get the early diner as it was only 2mins they just said no...I explained we had trouble parking but they wouldn't budge. I know they have times to stick to but considering they were empty and it was 2mins I thought it was a bit shortsighted as they lost a regular customer... we went over the road to another pizza place which we would never have tried and it was fantastic.

Went here midweek recently. I'd often walked passed the Gloucester Road restaurant and it was usually busy so I thought it must be pretty good. The pizza topping was absolutely fine but I wasn't impressed with the pizza bases which just tasted a bit bland and not a particularly pleasant texture. If I order a pizza that costs well over £10 and some were nearly £15 then I'd expect a freshly cooked base as for me the base is just as important as the topping. On the plus side the service was good and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

We went on a Saturday evening, so it was very busy, as you would expect. The young staff were very helpful and cheerful. The place is very laid back and relaxing. Despite being a Saturday we were all able to find free on street parking close by.I had a vegetable wrap which was lovely and it came with some lovely fresh rocket. The rest of my group took advantage of the big array of pizza choices. The vegetarian options were especially good. The prices were reasonable, the wrap was about £6.00 and 12in pizzas about £12.00.Some of our group had brownies and ice cream, at about £5.00, they quite big portions and said it was really nice. The only downside was that the toilets were in a horrible state and remained that way for the rest of the evening. I put this down to it being a very busy evening, but if the toilets were checked hourly this might sort this issue.

I went on a Monday to take advantage of the 2 4 1 pizza offer. The restaurant was understandably very busy but only had one waitress working. As hard as she tried, she simply couldn't be as attentive as you would normally expect - we had to ask her several times for things rather than wait for her to come to us (it would have been a long wait). She was pleasant and smiley - and was able to cope with the stress of a packed restaurant but I don't think she should have been on her own, especially given that the management must know that Mondays will be popular. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. We were midway between the kitchen and the door and the heat was intense, making me feel very sleepy and not at all sociable. It wasn't conducive to the social occasion that I had planned (catching up with a friend I hadn't seen for ages) - I just wanted to go to sleep rather than talk. The waitress occasionally opened the door but those sitting near the door would get cold and close the door, leaving the back part of the restaurant still unbearably hot. We left the restaurant leaving full glasses behind as we couldn't bear it any longer. The pizzas were nice - as they always have been whenever I have been to both Planet Pizzas in Bristol. My one gripe though is that you cannot have a half and half pizza with the special offer. I don't understand why when at other times you can get half and half. Just seems petty. The house wine is very drinkable and it's great to be able to order half carafes.Even though I enjoyed the food, I don't think I will go back to this restaurant. It doesn't have the same ambiance as the Whiteladies Road or Gloucester Road location and was too hot to linger over the meal and drinks.

Planet pizza serves a really good gluten free pizza, and you can have pretty much any of the tooppings offered for regular pizzas. This branch is very small but great for lunch with friends. My only criticism is that the sangria consisted of half a glass of wine and half a glass of orange juice, which weren't even mixed together - just poured into the same glass with an (I assume) unintentional layering effect. Sangria has a little more than vino and OJ in it, and it wouldn't be hard to add in the extra bits!

I used to love the restaurant on Whiteladies, so thought I would try the one on Cotham Hill. After looking on the website and seeing it was buy one get one free on Mondays we decided to go for that. The waitress appeared from the kitchen after we had seated ourselves and chosen our pizzas. She then informed us that buy one get one free was only at Gloucester Road! Despite my protests that as it was advertised they should honour it, we ended up paying full price. The pizzas are ok but not worth the full menu price. I complained by email after my visit regarding the falsely advertised offer and had no reply. The other, better half and I ate here mid-week.Set as it is, on the cusp of Whiteladies Road and Cotham Brow, this small cafe-like-restaurant doesn't amaze, at first glance. Indeed, you would be forgiven for walking past and trying the food at one of the flashier, more obviously restaurant-orientated venues. Yes. You would be forgiven. But you would also be utterly wrong. The pizza here is excellent. Thin and crispy, and finished to our exacting specifications (luckily we are both fans of anchovies...), one pizza was more than enough for two, though we also ordered a goats cheese salad...This is the mother of all salads. Creamy goats cheese served on a bed of greens, with roast onion relish, baby tomatoes and a nicely balsamic dressing. Utterly delicious! We ate our complete fill by sharing these two main courses, and exchanged less than £25 for the privelidge. Utterly, utterly wonderful food for the money. Go, and enjoy!

Whiteladies Rd and Cotham Hill have always been amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble to the staff there but the Gloucester Rd restaurant is totally different and seems to have an incredibly grumpy chef there who comes across as a bit rude and unwilling to even make some garlic mayo, the waitresses in turn, only will offer garlic butter, as if I am going to dip my chips in that??!! We go to the Gloucester Road restaurant & it's always colourful & friendly, there's local artists work on the walls which changes regularly & adds to the quirkiness of the place. They have a really tasty pizza menu, but Sun is our favourite. The only minor thing is that the pizzas aren't always cooked to a consistent standard & can be slightly more or less cooked than previous visits. But they are always really fresh & tasty. The salads are great too, especially the bacon & chorizo one, but we don't normally have room for them because the pizzas are really filling. We are loyal, regular customers & will remain that way!

I do like visiting because the staff are so friendly and good, always welcoming to kids and families, with toys and crayons to play with, there is nice music and a buzzy atmosphere. My friends and I ate at Planet Pizza on Gloucester Road last Saturday early evening. We were visiting the area prior to heading to a local pub for a friends 30th birthday, so we hadn't made a reservation (seems like a very popular place), but they managed to squeeze us in. No frills dining, but good value and a nice experience. Good selection of beers and wines, we had a bottle of viognier, which was delicious and the boys drank bottles of moretti. For starters we ordered the garlic dough balls and the bread and olives to share, which were generous portions and the olives were enormous! Large selection of pizzas named after planets, which were tasty and fresh. I personally prefer pizzas with a crispier & thinner base, but that's just my personal taste. We didn't enjoy our experience when we first arrived because the door was open, so it was a bit chilly and there was also a large party of adults with their babies and small children on the table next to us being very loud, causing mayhem and left a complete mess for the staff to clean up after them. However, as soon as that party had left, their mess had been cleaned up, the doors were closed and lighting had been dimmed, the ambiance of this place dramatically changed for the better and we were able to enjoy the rest of our meal in a more civilised setting.

We ate here on Friday night - 3 adults, 1 11 year old.We had booked a table and were sat directly in front of the entrance door, very chilly given that most of the people that came through didn't have the courtesy to shut it after themselves. The restaurant was full of screaming children aged between 2-8 years old with parents who appeared unconcerned about the disruption their children were causing to other diners. They were running around, climbing on furniture and shouting and screaming at the top of their voices. It was so noisy we were actually finding it hard to concentrate on the menu, let alone have a discussion between ourselves (think Wacky Warehouse or soft play area in full swing!!!) When the waitress came to take our drinks order we asked her if she had any idea how long the kids and parents were staying as we were finding the level of noise unacceptable. Initially she just giggled but when we told her we were considering leaving and going somewhere else she finally took us seriously and reported back that they were due to leave within about 10 mins.On this basis we went on to order our food, 3 different types of pizza, garlic bread and dough balls which was all lovely.I wish I could say more positive comments but in the end it all felt distinctly average after the initial start. I don't mind children in restaurants (we were dining with mine), however I do think that parents should control them appropriately. At 7.30 in the evening and with a bill of over £80 (with drinks) for 4 of us, I don't expect to experience playground central.

I live really close and go for dinner regularly. I've never had a bad experience. The food is great and the service is better. The menu is great but it's been the same for a long time. It won't stop me fro coming back!

Used to be a nice change when perhaps you want a pizza restaurant that feels I little more individual, run by people who care. But over the last few years, you can't help but notice that the quality of pizza is just not up to it anymore. Of the 4 differebt pizzas my friends and I ordered on a night out recently, 1 was good, two were utterly indistinguishable in taste, being very bland and one utterly overcooked. Service was very slow and not at all attentive. The desserts were excellent though so perhaps planet pudding could be a better direction !

Really nice pizzas, the staff are allways very friendly! White ladies pizza planet is very good value for money, especially if you go when the deal is on and get 2-4-1. I'm vegetarian and there are plenty of salad options, and vegetarian pizzas. This is the best pizza place in bristol in my opinion! I recomend the chocolate brownie! X x x

Planet Pizza is simply the best pizza in Bristol!A nice, local restaurant on Whiteladies Road with a jolly atmosphere, great staff, good food and reasonable prices! Offers on most of the week means it's very affordable. The pizzas were delicious, with plentiful toppings and the staff more than willing to change toppings to suit my requests! Good selection of beers, wines and ciders, and generous soft drinks (not filled with ice like many pizza restaurants!). It was a bit too cold outside to sit on the benches out front, but I'll certainly stop by plenty in the summer for a lunchtime pizza and watch the (Clifton) world go by!

Stopped in visiting my sister and a friend in Bristol and needed somewhere fast(ish), cheap(ish) and tasty. Planet Pizza was perfect. We ordered a pizza each and shared - all were delicious with fresh and well thought out toppings (not just your usual ham and mushroom) and nice thin bases, not swamped in cheese. Loved the planet theme with each named after a planet - we too had a sly chuckle at ordering 'Uranus' (which the waiter took in great humour despite probably hearing that one twenty times a day!) We also had some chips and olives - both very tasty. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and unique. This is not another chrome laced Pizza Express copy, thankfully. Another table had a baby in a pram and I think it would be a great place to go with well behaved children. There was a great selection of drinks - local ciders/juices etc. All in all the only problem is that I don't live in Bristol - but if you expand up north I will be a regular!

this place is a great pizza restaurant. one of the few good pizza places that does chips on the side as well if you fancy being a kid again. pizzas named after the planets. Endless bad jokes about eating Uranas - which really is quite tasty! :)

It was very busy that night, with office parties all over the place, but they managed to fit me in. I was on business on my own. I had a meteorite pizza, which was delicious and I ordered a side salad - which was big enough to be a main course

I've been visiting Planet Pizza for 15 years and the food is consistently good. Great value lunch specials and super puddings. Busy at luchtime so get there early. The branch in Gloucester Road is equally good although it is a bit noisy in early evenings as families with young children love the place. Always interesting art displayed on the walls too. Take aways too.

We went here with two of our children, who are in their twenties. We nearly didn't go in, as there were kids playing table football at the front. However, we were shown to seating at the back, which was OK. The pizzas are not cheap. They are fresh, but the bases are so soaked in oil that they almost seem fried. The drinks are expensive - no free refills, either. The service is friendly enough, but the surroundings have a very tatty feel. Basically, I think Planet Pizza is trying to be all things to all people and falling into limbo as a result.

Our lunch was ruined because we left feeling like we had been overcharged/misled.We had a great lunch of 'lunchtime offer sized pizzas' and (very very mini) mini salads, having made these choices after seeing on the menus and front of the restaurant that these were part of the 'available everyday' lunchtime offer. (When i ordered i asked for the smaller lunchtime offer size and pointed to the everday offer on the menu - the waitress did not tell me the offer excluded saturdays) however when the bill came we had been charged full price and when my brother queried this we were told that it said 'everywhere' that saturdays were excluded from this offer '( An A board with an asterix was pointed to which did mention the saturday exclusion - when we pointed out that the large signs, and menus all advertised this offer was everyday this was ignored and it was just repeated that it said 'everywhere' that it was only weekdays) my brother felt angry and akward and paid the bill just so we could leave (he said he felt like the staff have heard this complaint plenty of times before ).... my email complaint via the website (website also states that the offer is everyday)has been ignored. If i had had some kind of response, apology, explantion it is likely that i would have considered revisiting rather than writing a poor review - it would be a shame if others have similar experience after such a good meal, hopefully they will consider changing their advertising and attitude towards complaints

This place has more of a cafe atmosphere, and the pizzas are all named after planets. We shared one of the more expensive pizzas with chicken and chorizo and it was really delicious. The drinks were verging on extortionate prices however and this spoiled the experience somewhat. The pizza was around 13 pounds but a tiny ginger beer and small fruit juice pushed this up to almost 20 pounds. It certainly is a refreshing change and all the pizzas looked great. I would go back for sure, and would have one of the special deals next time.

This restaurant is our staple for when we have guests over. The food is top quality (the pizzas really are huge!), the pasta is excellent too. Fantastic service in a small but cosy restaurant. Very reasonable prices. Book a table though as it gets busy.

This restaurant (the Whiteladies road branch) used to be one of our favourite casual restuarants, despite the distance from where we live and the pricey pizzas, as the pizzas were great and the service was good.Unfortunately we went recently and the food was terrible (we thought they had used bad ingredients) and the service was unfriendly to the point of rudeness. We will not be going back.

I have been to this pizzeria a lot over the last few years but won't be going again soon. Something changed it seems this year and the pizzas are now almost flavourless. I, and my fellow diners, were sorely tempted to put salt and pepper onto the pizzas to give them some flavour. If the chef changed, maybe he/she will change back, but for the time being, I would avoid this place. The only good thing you can say is that the pizzas are huge.

I love pizza, so I was tempted to go because of the great reviews - and they are not wrong. These pizzas are truly delicious, and there are some really interesting and yummy toppings. And it's not just pizza - we ordered one pizza, one small salad and ciabatta with olive oil and it was all very lovely.
