Wow, where to start, staying over for two nights in Bristol and looking for somewhere good to eat and drink, on recommendation decided to pay a visit to The Sidings, and was not disappointed, friendly welcome from all, great atmosphere, great music, Exelent food and drink, all reasonably priced and all the food was very fresh, with great presentation and all home made and it certainly shows! So much so i decided to return for a second visit, also met the Chef Aaron as he conscientiously comes out to your table to make sure that everything is to your liking and has a passion for what he dose which is a pleasant surprise and something you don't always see nowadays, will definitely call again and gladly recommend, please keep up the great work.

Went around 530pm on a Saturday... Only 2 gins on offer (not good ones!), no IPA, and out of other things too.. my fr ended up with water! Staff disinterested... Will not be going back

Excellent service here! Popped into this place before getting a train back to London, The young man working here ( glasses early 20's) is absolute delight - what a wonderful, attentive, kind, chatty young man! Liked to have had a bite to eat - but the drink was good & I'll definately be back -even just for a conversation with the young man!

Fantastic little place for drinks. Barman was a young lad who was so polite and helpful absolute credit to the place. His customer service skills really show he cares that you will have a good time whilst there 😊

The young lad ( smoking outside in front doorway when we arrived) needs a serious kick up his behind. Turned out he was in charge !. With his attitude he is going nowhere fast in life that’s for sure. Straight after making our coffee he went straight back outside to finish his fag, didn’t bother delivering the coffee to our table where we were now sat , even though he had to pass us to go back to his more important cigarette. No spoons , no sugar were offered, when he’d finished his cigarette ( with ear phones on so I couldn’t even get his attention) I asked about sugar, they’d apparently run out, that’s a first for me. I’m sure with someone half decent “serving” the place would be fine to good. With his “ I’d don’t give a monkeys attitude “ why would anyone ever go back sadly.

Perfect place to chill before your train, the departures are shown on a screen which is brilliant!

I had to get the bartender to come inside and do his job first and foremost. Completely unaware of his role , an absolute moron. I expressed to him i have cancer, a recent diagnosis. He then replied with " i dont care" .

A fairly decent pub which served its purpose for me and the boys in between trains over the weekend however really disappointed with the lack of stuff actually available. Guinness, all the ales and various other lagers were all unavailable which was pretty disappointing.

Visted this place after changing from reckless engineer. Have to say was disappointed, atmosphere and character lost! Felt like a railway waiting room!

Slanted table, put my glass on it only for it to slowly slide off and I loose most of a £5 pint. Staff let me clean up it and didn't offer a replacement.

Toilets were absolutely disgusting. The women’s had feces all over the seat and bowl so I mentioned it to the workers and asked if I could use the men’s instead and that was just as bad!!

Just stopped in before catching a train so didn't really get a feel of the place .... partner wasn't impressed with the flooded toilet a no paper but the rest of the place was tidy ...

Went in on Tuesday evening before catching train. Service for drink excellent, friendly and polite. Decided to order a burger, sadly was very greasy, no seasoning - very disappointed. Whilst I would certainly go back for the drinks and atmosphere, I would not eat there again. Such a shame as they could have done it so much better.

Popped in on route to bus November 7th at 20.40..the gentleman that served me was very helpful..especially as I was a bit lost working at airport from cardiff..Will defo return 100% credit to him 21.00

I must have been the first one to order food this evening. Very limited menu so ordered toasted cheese sandwich. It was stone cold. Not impressed at all and will not be returning

Basic food , we had cheesy chips , good portions, served quick , good service , nice chilled staff , perfect for us. We will be repeat offender's next Bristol visit.

Super friendly staff! We stayed for 4 hours with an exceptional load of luggage while our friends visited the city! Very good burgers!

Popped in whilst waiting to catch a train. Ordered lasagne and chips, horrible microwave lasagne served with the smallest portion of chips. Drinks were ok. Toilets were filthy.

Nice spot, nice people. Love that they use the TV for departures from the station across the road and not sports.

I popped in here to get a drink and a bite to eat while I was staying in the hotel next door,It was quiet but I guess it could be a busy little place at times,It is right across from the train station in the city centre on a very busy road,tables and chairs outside as well.I only had a toasted bacon sandwich and a glass of coke and it was a bit expensive.

Nice pub, visited late on a Saturday evening and it was very quiet. Due to it's location (next to the train station) this pub seems to get busy at peak train times. Food looked ok, staff were ok

Polite staff, reasonably priced drinks, and nicely decorated. It was quite quiet when I visited but there was some good music playing so the pub had a bit of atmosphere. Ideal spot for catching up with a friend or waiting on your train.

Nice pub, haven't visited since it was the engineer and seems to have improved with much nicer decor and furnishing than I remember. Drinks reasonably priced and a very handy departs board. Very nice pub would visit again whilst waiting for my train.

The worst food from a pub I’ve had in many years. A total disgrace I ordered the burger from a very limited menu. Think the chef (or so called) needs to look for a job as what he put in front of me was overcooked chips and something you could have bounced off every wall on the pub, woeful. My advice would be order a Mc D’s it will be better!

Cheap drinks and nice atmosphere

Liked it. The lad behind the bar recommended a few spots and they ended up being nice. Cheap beer for a first/final pint before leaving. Very clean.

Nice staff, a little pricey but the place is warm and cozy, has live train updates, a good selection of spirits and other beverages. It's worth a stop in if your traveling from Bristol train station

I went here with my husband for a drink and something to eat. When we arrived our first impressions of the place were very good. We had a beer each which was very good and quite reasonably price. The young chap behind the bar was very polite. However we both ordered the lasagne with chips and salad. When it came the lasagne was cold in the middle so we complained and our meals were taken back. The young woman who was the 'cook' brought our meals back out (the same ones); the whole meals were heated up including the salad! We won't be returning. The lasagne with salad & chips was £9.50 each which would have been good value if they had been cooked correctly. Another negative is that there was no toilet paper in the ladies toilets and the liquid soap had run out.

Nice little place for a drink, a wide range of beverages on offer. However the food menu is a bit limited. Apart from that all good and close to templemeads train station, it also has a live departure board in the pub if you are waiting for a train.

Service was meh, siting could be amazing if it was utilised. 3 stars for the potential.

Good bar shame the barstaff was by him self on the bar on a busy Saturday night doing food and drinks need 1 or 2 more members of staff to help Besides that it was a good night

OK for a mid week quick bite to eat or justba drink if you are waiting for a train or staying in one of the hotels by the station.

There was a lovely man who works here that ran across the road to give me back my bag that I had left on the table. I really appreciate him going above and beyond to ensure I got my bag back, as I had all of my valuables in it at the time. I hope the managers appreciate what lovely staff they have here.

Pleasant atmosphere only very limited food burger or sandwich. The burger was absolutely delicious and well worth the money.

This place has had a turnaround of late. Used to be a bit of a dive bar (which I have no issue with) but now this bar has had a complete makeover. Good beer. Good looking menu. Fairly priced too.

Modern pub, no darts. On the other hand, the “dishes” are very “traditional”. Fat, full of mayonnaise/sauces, very sweet, well breaded... in short, typical. Well, they don't promise us anything else either when we see the menu...

Don't go here if you want a thousand things to choose from but the pizzas and meatballs were excellent. Friendly staff who acted like they actually cared. Would definitely go back. Thanks guys

I called in here for a takeaway pizza (we were staying at the Holiday Inn next door) on a Wednesday evening. What a lovely find! Such a friendly guy behind the bar and great music playing in the background. My pizza was absolutely delicious (olive/artichoke/mushroom) - honestly one of the best I've had. If I'm Bristol again I'll definitely be back.

Nice bar in a convenient location. The beers are as you'd expect ( but a little pricey £4.90 for a pint). Would recommend if you are short on time but want something to drink during your stop over

Me and my two friends ended up at the sidings by chance ,we were welcome by a lovely young man ,we wanted food but we were told it was limited as they only reopened that day ,we didnt mind as we had some lovely burgers and chips he also gave us a nice bowl of salad to share,nothing was to much trouble ,a friendly and a warm welcome goes along way ,thank you,We will be back x

Lovely relaxed atmosphere during the day, friendly service and reasonably price drinks.

Came here for a quick drink before dinner. Covid measures in place (track and trace, hand gel, table service only, staff member in mask). The bar tender was really efficient, friendly and helpful (making me a delicious Bloody Mary). Great décor and comfy seating.

A great place to eat before or after a journey... very tasty and fresh food! Complimented by a drink and with the station view is just perfect atmosphere! All becouse the staff is very friendly and attentive!

Brilliant, attentive service, with a well organise layout for social distancing. We ordered the burgers which were really tasty and a good sized portion. Definitely recommend. Close to the the train station, which makes it a good meet-up place for a quick pint or meal.

Called in here start of September, place is just under new management. Good beers, even better pizzas! Stop in here if you get a chance.

Called in for lunch today in between trains, very impressed! Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent, I had the antipasti pizza which was very tasty! Would highly recommend this place!

We had some time for a pint before catching our train and noticed this bar on googlemaps. It’s a great bar with old train signs on the walls, a cool feel, and nice cold beer. COVID measures were in effect and the barman was very efficient in taking our details for track and trace. A short 3 minute walk from temple meads station so a perfect location.

Visited this pub in transit; dead handy as just a cross from the station Nice pint of Beavertown Neck Oil (ale off, probably due to 'current situation') and tasty creamy mushroom on ciabatta light bite from daily specials. Staff were great and I liked sitting in the booth accross from the station. Only slight gripe was that one small square of ciabatta felt a little too light - hence score of 4. Still all in all a really nice experience. Recommended.

Visiting Bristol for family occasion. Was recommended The Sidings for a good pint. Have to say was not disappointed. The beer/ale was first class. And the owners (who’s name i forget) are very welcoming and up for a chat. Always a bonus. Can not fault the pub or its owners. On my next visit i will deff be back at The Sidings. Good Beer/ale, good people.

Order the pizza. Trust me you'll be glad you did.
