Pizza Giovanni in Dover

We love this place and come often. Pizzas are great. Good staff. Prices have gone up a bit, so we go less often that we used to!

Wanted a Coffee and Cake. There was not much choice in the cake department flapjack or brownie, my husband opted for a mediocre at best Flapjack which was served on a paper plate, I gave it a miss. We chose to have a flavoured hot chocolate which wasn't very chocolately, wasn't offered any sugar or sweeteners and we had to request a teaspoon and my husband was given a wooden fork for his cake. Although we didn't eat we could see that pizzas were also served on paper plates. The restaurant looks lovely but we won't be returning, there are better Italian restaurants in the town. On the plus side it is dog friendly and the seats were very comfortable. The service was good and the staff friendly.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and absolutely wonderful ice cream! We popped in for ice cream whilst walking the quay. We were given comfy sofas to sit and relax while we waited. The ice cream was delicious!

Looking for somewhere different to take a group of the more mature people. Received a very warm welcoming and staff friendly, approachable, helpful and nothing was to much trouble to accommodated the group. Big thank you to the staff. Certainly recommend this place and will be going back.

Visited here in the evening. Great atmosphere with music played at just the right level. It feels like you're eating outside but indoors and all the seating is set out for relaxed dining - inckuding long tables for large parties. The Pizza was delicious and was all made on the premises. The Pizza menu is vast and there are about 10 vegan options, plus children's vegan options - so I will definitely be visiting again with my vegan friends. Staff were friendly and engaging. I really liked the buzzer on the table to let staff know when you wanted to order drinks and food. Reasonably priced.

Popped in here for a can of drink, on a very hot day.. . Just a normal can of drink, how much £3.... What a rip off. I left...

Quite a quirky place. The pizzas were excellent and well priced. Definitely worth a return visit. Great place for families. One point is that the seats are quite low.

Called here on the off chance as we were visiting sandwich Sunday afternoon, big mistake. We were greeted by a girl, who abruptly asked us what we wanted with a terrible miserable attitude. We were seated, it was such hard work for this member of staff, we decided to leave,. Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant because of the rudeness of a member of staff, she should not be working in that environment, I'm sure her boss or bosses would have had something to say losing money and I've seen other reviews regarding the rudeness of staff. We walked further into town and found a lovely Italian family run restaurant, different class

My wife and I had pizzas lunchtime today, me ham and mushroom, my wife Napolitana, and they were both exceptional. We both felt they were amongst the best we’ve ever had, and I lived in Italy for 9 years! The ice creams were very good too.

I love this place, the best pizza I've eaten outside of Italy and the gelato is to die for (and I'm not an ice cream fan). Really relaxed environment, laid back dining, friendly and helpful staff. Strongly recommended!

Lovely impromptu picnic in Sandwich - Giovanni’s we’re so kind and fitted us in for takeaway pizza and garlic bread with very little wait. Both pizza and garlic bread were delicious! And we treated ourselves to gelato for pudding.

Lockdown find and what a find..... Lovely friendly service. We ordered, paid by transfer and it was delivered all within 20 mins. Really lovely pizzas. Definitely will be ordering from them again. Thank you 😊

Amazing well priced pizza & lovely drinks. I dropped some money which the staff really kindly returned too. Amazing little place. Slightly slow getting our drinks & clearing tables.

Been here with a toddler. They do kiddie pizza which was really enjoyed by our grandson. As for us adults ... we indulged in some of the best wood fire cooked sour dough pizzas .... plenty of choice and all cooked specially to order. You see your pizza being cooked with care and passion.

The gluten free pizza - they can all be made gluten free - is absolutely wonderful. Not crusty like so many are, but light and melt-in-the-mouth. And piping hot because it's made and cooked there and then.

Best pizza I have eaten in a long time, even some pizzerias in Naples would struggle to beat this one. The ingredients must be good quality. The golden crust is crusty and springy all at the same time. The mozzarella is stringy and gooey as it should be. The tomato base is non acidy. A perfect pizza every time and cooked perfectly too. Thank you.

I don't say this lightly but that pizza was amazing. Lots of choice. Super service. Top marks from me.

My pizza was uncooked in the centre. The place was extremely busy and I didn’t want to wait and have to later eat alone so I ate what I could. When we paid I mentioned it to the man behind the counter who showed it to the chef. He asked to talk to me in private and lead me away from the counter ( there was no one there at that time) towards the tables where people were eating! Made no sense. I wasn’t’ causing a scene nor was intending to.There was no apology or money discounted off only the excuse that it was very hot and it was due to the weather. He also said he would have eaten it. I think this is bad customer service and we will not return.

The main thing was that the food was lovely. But the atmosphere was also very warm and friendly. the onwers have worked hard to reduce their carbon footprint. I would also recommend the tiramasou gelati (Italian icecream). Good food at a reasonable price.

Great atmosphere, beautifully cooked wood fire oven baked pizza. Friendly staff and an eco friendly ethos. Good service and delicious ice cream!

Though our figures would definitely pay the price! I would have pizzas like these every day. So nice, it's the best gluten free pizza I've ever had... such a lovely crust and flavour, I just couldn't stop eating. My mum loved her calzone and my partner loved his spicy one too. Definitely a must if ever in Sandwich again.
