Pizza Express in St Edmundsbury

A great tasting pizza requires great produce. There is nowhere to hide. This is why, after decades on the high street Pizza Express still has them queuing out the door (well, they were on Saturday! lol). Fabulous tasting pizza using premium ingredients, super slick service and we both walked away feeling special. This is all you can ask for from a dinning experience. Love you PE, you've still got it.

We had the sloppy Giusepe pizza that was absolutely delicious! This is easily the best pizza express we’ve been to! The service from Jayne (lady with short dark hair and glasses) was easily the best customer service experience, she was attentive, knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant! All whilst looking after all the tables in the restaurant on her own. Gladly come again and will recommend.

Great welcome, super-efficient staff, delicious food. Loved it.

Dismal Experience - Left After 40 Minutes of Waiting Booked a table for 7pm on a Friday evening, hoping for a nice start to the weekend. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. After being seated, we noticed waitresses attending nearby tables, but despite this, no one came to take our order or check on us. Other tables were prioritised while many weren’t even being cleared. After waiting 40 minutes with no service, we decided we'd had enough and walked out - the first time either of us had ever done so. The experience completely ruined what was meant to be a relaxing Friday night. Disappointing is an understatement.

Came to Bury St Edmunds on Friday for my best friends wedding on Saturday. We had A LOT to do at the venue on Friday to get it ready for the big day. We planned and tried to order pizza express via deliveroo or any other online/phone way as pizza express does decent GF pizzas and the bride is GF but unfortunately we had 0 signal at the venue (we are from London so really hadn’t considered that it would potentially be challenging to order food for 20 people on the fly and it’s totally ok if anyone finds that funny because it is😂). Resorting to desperate, pre-mobile phone measures we decided to just go down to pizza express in the town on the off chance they might be able to help us (whilst also being aware that turning up to a restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night to ask for enough pizzas for 20 people cooked asap was a big ask). We explained our situation to the host and were told she would see if the kitchen were able to help us. As someone who previously worked in a restaurant I have no idea how she convinced them to do it but we were in luck and told they could cook for us but wait time was about 45mins.. which we were fine with. We asked for the romana bases just based on their size but host even suggested to us we should go for classic so that they would stay warmer for longer on our journey back which was a good suggestion. We were shown to a seat that we could wait in and offered drinks while we waited. The restaurant was pretty busy but the pizzas were out in about 30mins instead of 45!!. When we got back to the venue we even found the pizzas had been presliced for us and all including the bride were happy. Host was lovely, kitchen did a great job turning them out and the pizzas were tasty. I’m sure they would prefer people to not just turn up and ask them to feed 20 people on the fly but throughly pleased with the service they provided! I wish I could remember the hosts name to thank her here as it would have been very (very) easy to just turn us away (and tbh what we expected) but 20 very hungry friends and family were very grateful that we were not turned away!

Absolutely appalling experience. We booked a table to celebrate my daughter’s 21st. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. I asked the waitress if they were short staffed her reply ‘no, just all the tables have come in at once’ We were then told by a different waitress that they were very busy and the wait for food would be 2 hours. Manger nowhere to be seen, apparently helping in the kitchen. We left as it was already 8.15pm. People walking out and tables complaining all over the place because they were still waiting for food or drinks or both. Ruined what should have been a very special evening. Words cannot express my disgust. Everywhere else in Bury was fully booked so our evening could not be salvaged!

We waited an hour to get our food and when it did come out, we got our main before our starters then when the starters when the did come out it was sent to the wrong table and it was cold. We did get our drinks on the house as an apology but it definitely wasn’t a great experience at all.

Do not eat here! We booked for my daughter’s 21st. Waited 15 mins to be seated, we were the told we would not be served for 2 hours. People complaining all over the place. We left as we would not have been served until 10pm. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. Words cannot express how disgusted I am. Our evening was completely ruined!

Had our 1st experience of pizza express today and it was magnificent. Food was hit and delicious and the service by our waiter Jason was 2nd to none. Will definitely be back.

The current staff are brilliant, service has improved and is much faster. It's currently very busy, so I'd advise always book in advance when you can.

Visited restaurant the week before to book a table for 5, requested table 1 in the window. This was noted on the booking. The reason for selecting this table is because on previous visits, I have found the main restaurant to be very noisy and echoing and one of our party has a hearing problem. Also because of this, a round table works better. On arriving about 15 mins early I could see that particular table was already occupied. The waitress explained she had given that table away without noticing my request on the system. The family sitting there had not eaten yet so I was offered another couple of tables. A conversation took place and I decided that it would be better if we ate somewhere else - and that is exactly what we did! We had a very nice meal in another establishment in the town. On reading previous reviews about the service, it was probably the best outcome.

One of my favourite places to go with friends. Their leggera pizza and nicoise salad are the best. Not too mention their chocolate fudge cake! Sometimes they are quite full and it can get a bit loud, but not always and depends on the time of day. Staff always friendly.

Terrible service. Took 2 hours for us to receive and eat our first two courses, so we had no time for dessert. Never asked if we’d like a second drink so we all sat with empty glasses. The restaurant was not busy but the servers were invisible. Food was overpriced and cheese topping on the pizzas was mean. Unless we can take advantage of a special offer, we’d not return.

We had our starter and then our pizzas never arrived. When we asked we were told they would be 6 minutes but still no sign of them. We asked again and were told ours would be going in the oven next, this was after being there for 1.5 hours! We voted with our feet and left.

Pasta not cooked properly, terrible

We took a Saturday lunch at Pizza Express. We had not been for a long while. Not much has changed. The ambience is great, hints and tones of Italian hospitality. When it gets to you, the service is warm and welcoming. I took advantage of the Romano Duo with American Hottest and La Reine, the junior member of our party went for the BBQ Burnt Ends – both were great. We had had the calamari and prawn starters; these too had been great. Our duty vegetarian also declared the vegetarian offerings as lovely. A good lunch was had by all, possibly a bit pricey, but we’ll be back.

The service was absolutely dreadful!!! We waited 90mins for food to arrive. The waitress was not very informative or very pleasant....staff looked like they'd had enough. We thought it was overpriced for the food we got. The amount of customers complaing that day was incredible. Needless to say we did not order dessert as we didn't have hours in the day to wait!!

We only visited as we had free vouchers following a recent visit where we were turned away, despite having a booking and kids with us. We went at 5pm on a Saturday and it was surprisingly empty. We ordered drinks and food that came pretty quickly. All appeared fine until we got home and both of us were ill. Not complaining to them again as I don’t want anymore free vouchers thank you! Something is going very wrong here, the last 3 or so reviews have mentioned bad hygiene and sickness.

Lovely waiter . Good food. Attractive garden . Since that place opened years ago I always find it a bit noisy as its wood floors etc .

The positives were the waiter was extremely nice and on point with drinks. Atmosphere was good and the starters were lovley. Then the long wait came. From order to mains on the table me and my wife waited an hour and a half. When the lovley waiter realised we were waiting so long he came over and informed us the pizza and pasta dish we ordered hasn’t even started to be made yet and that we were next up, very kindly offering some tomatoes from the appetites menu. When he brought them to our table. They would be out of line in the Iceland frozen section. They were physically inedible and nothing was offered in replacement. When the main came out they were not as high quality as I had hoped. When ordering a pasta dish you expect it to be better than something you could cook at home, this was not the case. However the pizza was very enjoyable. If it wasn’t for the waiter being extremely polite and funny we would have walked out long before the mains were brought to the table.

Very pedestrian service, took an hour for starters, pizza toppings, sparse. No handwashing seen in desert prep area, the handwash basin used for storage. Staff avoiding eye contact and not apologising for delays, which were occuring across the tables we saw. Bit grim really considering how simple the food and format is.

I brought my daughter in for a bite to eat at 13:00 and I must say the refurb looks got the atmosphere was great and the waiter who served me will was absolutely fantastic by making us very welcome infact will couldnt do enough for us, il definitely be back to visit again. Food was great too.

I went with my kids this Sunday after an incredible visit to Bury and it couldn’t have ended worse! Very disappointing and bitter experience ! After a long wait for our food and observing bad hygiene practices in the kitchen , one of the chefs without any protective equipment going in and out of the kitchen without even washing her hands , rubbing her hands on her clothes and constantly touching her hair while preparing food 🤢 I m sorry but Definitely won’t come back again or recommend . Even my children felt disgusted !!

We visited Pizza Express yesterday evening 20th April at 6pm and received such outstanding service I just had to comment. We were greeted at the check in desk by Jane who was the loveliest, most professional and caring person I've ever met in a restaurant. The restaurant was very busy on this Saturday evening and even though Jane seemed to be doing the job of at least 10 people she was attentive, remembered everything and still managed to be charming and funny! She kept checking in on us and kept us informed about how long our meal would be. We were out on a much needed date night and she made our experience an absolutely brilliant one. The world would be a better place with more Jane's in it! We will be visiting again :-)

Didn't find the staff to be very helpful, in fact we felt like we were an inconvenience to them. It wasn't even busy. First server forgot to put our order in so we had a very long wait for our pizza, he did apologise and then left us to be dealt with by a very grumpy colleague who was borderline rude. Didn't stay for dessert.

The second time we’ve been this year and the service was worse than the first time. No where near enough staff in school holiday time. Waited over an hour for our food. Staff very off-hand but were rushed off their feet. Food OK when it came.

We visited for my niece's birthday on a Saturday evening. They knew they had a large table (11), but my sister in law was told that it would be ok not to pre-order. When we arrived they seemed shocked we hadn't. Once we were seated they took some time to come and take our order, so we ordered my daughter's chicken completely plain but it came with cheese, I ordered the chicken calzone and the nudja came out so I had to wait a while whilst the others ate. The prices are absolutely unbelievable for the food given. The pasta portion was tiny and not worth the £15 price tag. We were considering desert but they took so long to come and clear the table we didn't get asked if we wanted it, so we paid on the app and left.

Food was good. Not very busy on a Friday lunchtime but only 2 people serving so it wouldn't be good if you are in a hurry.

We arrived at 1-05 for lunch with 2 adults & 3 grandchildren found our seats waited 35mins for a waitress to come & take our drinks order waited 20mins before drinks turned up food order taken it was 2- 30 before we had our pizza on our table we had been complaining to the staff we did not receive one sorry for the delay, most people were complaining but it made no difference will not visit here again bad bad service food not very good either this is no way to treat paying people plus it ruins your day.

We booked a table, however due to Bank Holiday weekend the traffic was awful. I had booked a table but when we arrived the manager greeting us told and me we were late ! On 3 ocassions!!! I also have 2 year old twins it's hard to park and get there! With traffic I thought there was no need to be rude . She told me she had given my table away because I was late , I could have called ! There was no need to be rude The lady serving us was fantastic and luckily changed our experience

My drink was missing from my order.

Our large group (fifteen) were seated and settled...before being asked to move to another table which also sat 15...which was a little annoying. We had been contacted and asked to pre-order on the day...which when there is a big group was a bit inconvenient - lots of emails and phone calls to make. Once our food arrived the waiter stood at one end and mumbled the orders which was lost to those at the end of the table...and did similar when asking if anyone wanted drinks halfway through the meal. Hence the low service score. Food as always...lovely.

Despite the restaurant being quite empty, we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food. The only thing that made it bearable was the friendly server Food was on par with other branches of the chain On a plus, the child's food came out first, and the server gave it to me instead of putting it in front of my granddaughter as it was hot

Absurdly slow and poor service. Took 45 mins before our order was taken and nearly two hours before we finally left. We only ordered 4 pizzas!! We had two toddlers with us who were feeling very upset and hungry after the long wait. As soon as we arrived we were brusquely told to put our double pram (very large and heavy) down some stairs out of the way and that we’d be brought a high chair. Not exactly accessible. No high chair arrived and one was instead given to a table who came in ten mins later to the point I had to go into the ‘pit’ to get my own. This table was also served before us and we were ignored despite multiple attempts to try to order. 45 mins later we ordered our food and drinks. The table water we requested never came. The adults’ mains came with the children’s food arriving 20 mins later leading to cold food and our kids in meltdown. Our pizzas were ice cold by the time we got to eat them. Do NOT come here if you have young children, we left with nothing but pure stress and agreed we’d have preferred a meal deal. An utter waste of time and deeply unenjoyable.

The waiter was nice, however the food gave me a horrible stomachache. Would not recommend, although great location, and busy atmosphere, people must love it; just not for me unfortunately :(

Will served our large group . He was friendly and professional. I ordered the cannelloni. Served promptly but didn't enjoy it. There was barely any cannelloni, and I had to search for that under the large amount of tasteless tepid ? cheese sauce. Not pleasant.

Attended my son's friends party. Pre-ordered starters never arrived for adults. Organisation seemed chaotic at best. The party for the children involved making their own pizza. This was due to last 2 hours, they finally sat down to their food after more than 2 hours. The crowning glory was the manager saying to another table, "When we get rid of the party!!". In addition, it seemed there was no toilet roll in one of the toilets and the response from staff was that the cleaner hadn't come in. This review is made on behalf of my wife and Sons.

Booked to eat at five pm online for six of us, four of whom are visiting Bury St Edmunds for the first time and coming to see my partner and me. As our guests had a long drive they were hungry and so we went into town early. Being four pm on a Saturday in mid-January the restaurant was next to empty on arrival so we approached the bar and asked if we could be seated early. We were told by a gentleman at the bar, that no, we could not and that we should return at the time of our booking. This immediately irritated us, there was no reason given, the restaurant was empty and therefore there was no reason whatsoever not to seat us. Walking past at four thirty pm, we could see the restaurant was still empty. So much so, that staff were just stood around chatting to each other while the three tables that did have people were dining. So, we entered again and asked again if we could be seated early, this time a different member of staff agreed and showed us to the same table I'd predicted would be reserved for us and had been empty for the thirty minutes since we last entered the restaurant. It didn't take long for us to order, as again, our guests were hungry and so the first dishes came out to the table at four fifty pm. I have coeliac and had ordered cheesy garlic bread for my starter, which had not been brought out with everyone else's starters so I attempted to get the attention of a member of staff and asked where it was, they returned to say it would be with me soon. When it did arrive ten minutes later, everyone else had finished their starters, and with no word of a lie, I could not even cut it. It had been cremated, it was rock solid and could have been used as a frisbee, I called back the member of staff and returned it, opting not to have a replacement. It was a good thing I didn't opt for a replacement as our mains came only seconds later. Again, the gluten-free option was the last to be served. I'd recalled enjoying gluten-free pizzas from Pizza Express in the past, but on this occasion, I was extremely disappointed. Pizza Hut is better and I've now had such good gluten-free pizzas in independent Italian restaurants that the offering provided by Pizza Express is nothing short of insulting to coeliacs. However, I ate it. Everyone else at the table ate all their food, but no one was overly impressed. Describing food as "it's okay" is never a good sign. That's when people eat because it's there and there are no options. It's not bad enough to return, but not good enough that you'd return for it. I was still hungry after my starter was a fail so ordered a gluten-free chocolate cake dessert which was extremely dense and unenjoyable. One of the children at the table wanted one scoop of vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream, but the menu states two scoops of the options so we were refused three scoops even though we were happy to be charged for four, instead, we were forced to order four scoops with two scoops each in two different bowls. Common sense was a commodity sorely missing on this particular day. Service on this day was poor from start to finish. When we first arrived common sense should have allowed us to be seated at four pm. When we returned my gluten-free starter, which should not have even been brought to me in the first place, the return was not dealt with well. After we had finished our mains, plates were left on the table for longer than it took us to eat and only removed once we got the staff's attention and asked for the dessert menu. We asked for the bill while desert dishes were still on the table as again, they hadn't been cleared. We had to request extra drinks as no one cared enough to ask when bringing food. All of this, despite our table being next to the bar where several members of staff kept gathering to talk, however, they had their backs to the room and were talking about personal matters and not focusing on guests. One particular young lady spent the entire time we were there staring at her phone and doing no work at all. To add insult to the experience once we finally managed to get someone's attention to get the bill they hadn't removed the item that had been returned and we had to ask for this to be rectified, which took over fifteen minutes to complete, though the restaurant was still largely empty. In all, the food was not good enough. The service was the worst I've experienced in Bury St Edmunds, or anywhere for a very long time. Due to both of these reasons, plus the fact that many other establishments nearby will happily provide a good service to go along with better food, none of us will return.

We booked for 1pm. We arrived in good time with our 3 young children to be met by only 2 members of staff running the floor with probably up to 20 tables. After 15 minutes we had to request our order be taken. After 40 minutes we received our drinks. After 1 hour we hadn't even received our starters. Having 3 hungry young children means that we cannot keep them occupied for this long. We decided to pay for our drinks (shouldn't have done really) and left. We felt kinda sorry for the over-stretched staff but cannot accept having to wait this long for food. Can I also add that we were not the only people waiting as long. If you know there's going to be a delay, why can't you inform us rather than having customers wait for so long? The last time we popped in for a quick bite in this place, the guy at front desk made out that he was doing us such a favour...the place was near empty. I took the day off work to eat out with my family and you guys ruined our day. Thanks for that. After today's experience I think we'll give it a miss in future and as a business owner in the town, I'll be deterring others from eating there too.

One hour and counting to make two pizzas. Are you having it flown from Napoli? Later edit: Almost two hours later somehow they managed to loose my order and then they call me to suggest that I actually did receive it, even though justeats still shows the order is still being prepared and it hasn't picked up by someone. As I was writing this I finally received the cold order at 22:00! The delivery driver was told at the restaurant at 21:10 that the order was not ready and to come back in a while! You people are clowns. Unbelievable! The food is generally pretty decent and not too eye gouging, but the staff is something else.

I am sad. You didn’t put pineapple on my Hawaiian. You also wrote a cute message on the box I thought this was so sweet, how kind and thoughtful. I thought to myself perhaps they do this for everyone ? But oh it doesn’t matter that’s handwritten and kind. I opened the box still considering the message on the box and the pizza was so delicious. I was blissful. Lost in thought and taste but glory. So happy….so very ignorant and the terrible terrible truth. There was no pineapple on my pizza. The message the lack there of delicate tinned fruits on my pizza I was all clear. I feel gaslit not only by how great the pizza was but how perhaps the message was but a ruse. But I am happy now having put far too much effort into this than anyone deemed necessary which of course forces me to post it. Really great pizza. 5 stars

Absolutely fantastic service! We went to have a last family dinner as my boyfriend and I were going travel by for a year so we were a party of 35 plus a toddler and a new born. Not only did they get everyone’s orders out super quickly but the entire team of staff were so friendly and smiley and it was such a good experience! We got a vast selection of almost every pizza and every single pizza was exceptional! We also got desserts which were just as yummy! Everyone’s drinks came out very quickly and when we came to split the bill between around 10 different people the waitress was amazing and super patient as we gathered everyone! They were super accommodating for the younger kids and the newborn. Overall such a 10/10 experience and i would highly recommend for everyone!

The pizza was tiny compared to last time and the base was undercooked , I get it was late but it looked rushed , also it was cold , and unsliced , won’t be ordering from here again better sticking to domino’s and that’s coming from a chef

Really good venue, food and service. There were not many people in there on Tuesday afternoon, which is why I rated it a bit lower, but it was really good value for money with very good food.

Awful, awful experience. We waited 90 minutes for our food to arrive. Our side orders arrived after we had finished our mains. The managers attitude to our complaints was appalling, he just didn’t care. He blamed a “system error” for the issues but it was human beings in the kitchen and serving the food. I don’t think AI is that intelligent yet. The only food being sent from kitchen were for take away orders. The quality of the food was poor. Parts of our order did not arrive but we were still charged for them. Considering the quality of the food we received the prices they are charging are unacceptable. We won’t ever go back to this restaurant. Stay away unless you have a spare 3 or 4 hours to wait for your order.

Shocking visit! It took just over two hours for our food to be served and even after all this time my wife’s salad didn’t arrive with the other meals! After an hour we asked numerous times how long the food would be and kept getting false timings given. Felt sorry for our waiter who was very apologetic about the delay and he was getting bombarded by other tables having the same issues. My frustration was made worse when after an hour and a half after ordering I was advised that they had run out of pulled pork for my Burnt ends BBQ pizza!! Cosmic!! I then asked the manager if he would come and have a chat when he rushed past taking people to their table and his response was ‘I will come and see you when I can but I have a queue of customers waiting to be seated’ to which I firmly told him to come and see me quickly. He was very nonchalant about how long we had been waiting and said that they were doing their best and were short staffed! Not my issue mate don’t take the bookings or prioritise takeaway orders!! Loads of other tables were complaining and when our bill finally arrived there was a measly £28 off which the manager then told me this was the maximum he was allowed to take off!! Told him to reduce it by 50% as this was what he had done for another table behind us as they had complained about the waiting time and his shocking customer attitude! Such a shame as we have had numerous visits here before, we have never have had such a wait for our food and poor service and rudeness from a manager who can’t manage!! Don’t bother visiting here folks!!

Dreadful experience, long wait , starters took hour, slow on drinks , wrong food, ages for drinks, complained , manager seemed amused , he obviously had a bad shift, no duty manager one chef down, attitude was dreadful, and we weren’t the only customers who had the same problems, unbelievable

Almost 2 hours after we arrived at the venue we got 4 out of 5 main courses ordered (burnt), it took constant reminders to staff that we were waiting and then the 5th course arrived (burnt). Once we had eaten the side dishes then arrived and we pointed this out they were put on the table and staff walked off without explanation - pointless considering one of them was a salad to go with a main course. The manager was rude and dismissive - leaving the waiting staff to field complaints without support. When he was directly challenged he responded with ‘what do you want me to do about it’ - obviously not the response you expect. The delays were blamed on a ‘system error’ however it appears that pizza express puts its delivery customers first as the orders for takeaway were the only ones being processed and sent out. Poor food, poor service, shocking lack of management and a lot of attitude from the manager who preferred to hide away from customer and then give them back chat when he is challenged. Don’t bother.

The app is a good thing to you help you save money

We had booked here for a meal before a show locally and allowed 2 hours, thinking this would be plenty. When we arrived, we were surprised at how noisy it was, we could not hear the member of staff at the welcome desk at all. She approached us and said something that I could not hear so, thinking she must have said 'hello', I smiled and replied 'hello'. Without a smile, she said 'I said name'. A little frightened of her at this stage, I quickly gave her my name! She just said 'I hope you're not in a hurry', to which I said, 'we've got 2 hours' and she replied 'you might have to skip dessert' before leading us to a table, literally throwing the menus on the table and walking off. We waited ages to order drinks or food but the drinks did arrive quickly. I had the lasagne, it wasn't good. Very sloppy, watery sauce, generally a bit of a mess. I then ordered the festive dough balls with white chocolate sauce, only to be told they had run out of white chocolate sauce and I'd have to have salted caramel sauce instead. Very poor. By this time, we needed to pay and head to our show. It was impossible to get our waitress's attention at all for a very long time, eventually we got our bill. But we could not get her to return to our table to take payment at all. In desperation I asked another member of staff if he could take our payment, he said that it was not his section but when I said that we were going to be late for our show, he immediately came over and helped us. The only decent member of staff encountered here. We walked past 4 members of staff on the way out, including our waitress - nobody said goodbye. Oh, and the toilets were disgusting. I will never return here again, not a pleasant experience at all.

We booked for 3 of us at 5.45pm on a Monday night. The restaurant was busy but not packed. We ordered quite quickly but it took 40 mins for pizza to arrive after we asked for them. No salad or starters turned up. Staff are very nice but seem unable to cope with the service. I do wonder whether they are more focussed, in the kitchen, on delivery orders rather than the restaurant customers. Nice pizza but nothing special. Won’t rush back.

We went at lunchtime today only half filled restrautrant. We ordered straight away with our drinks 45 minutes later the food had not arrived. We were told it would be 5 minutes but we had to ask again it took approximately another 10 min. When we asked again and told them we had cinema tickets booked and may have to leave it but thought the drinks should be complimentary as gesture of good will. The Manager's response was we had only waited 45 mins or so and said No.

Always had a great experience and brilliant value for money via Tesco rewards. Recommend!

Absolutely disgusting food and even worse treatment by staff. Waited an hour and a half for this. It is not what I ordered, came with no receipt and is not even cooked. I can only assume it was deliberate because I enquired how long my order would be after waiting an hour and ten minutes. Tried to phone and no one picked up the landline. This is beyond vile and I will be taking further action. STAY AWAY!!!

Really lovely place to eat. Food was great and staff were so friendly especially Joe and Natalia who were super kind and helped entertain our kids. Can’t wait to come back.

Had a lovely evening here, enjoyed a Christmas cocktail, olives and the lighter option pizza with salad. Also had my favourite dessert of figs and mascapone with coffee. Service was polite especially as I booked our table at the wrong restaurant 🤦‍♀️ and they still found us a table. We felt a little rushed for example when getting the bill without asking for it. On the whole v enjoyable and will be back.

Newly refurbished place with high standards of service and many options to dine in. It also one of the biggest restaurants in towns, so have enough room to accommodate big parties.

I have visited a few times, mostly for lunch. The choice of food is good and the quality and quantity is good value for the price. The service is very good, and I do have to single out the lovely Polish girl who served me recently. Thank you for you kind words. The atmosphere is good, even when dining alone, often kids parties taking place. Always very busy when I have visited, do book in advance as you may get turned away if they are fully booked as is often the case. I will be back.

Came here for a meal with a friend. Restaurant was quite busy and refurb of interior looked nice. Ordered our food and sadly both my main course choices were no longer available. Unfortunately had a long wait for our starters. I'm not sure what happened, but this was a shame. I cannot fault the member of staff serving us or the supervisor who were both very friendly and apologetic. The food when we got it was excellent. My low service score was purely due to the long wait, otherwise this would have been higher!

We arrived here due to a random trip and liked the pizza a lot.It took some time but was worth waiting. We tried vegetarian classic and thin crusts, liked both. Kids also enjoyed the pizzas along with the halloumi bites. Kids also enjoyed colouring and activities book.

I’m writing this review as I got interview for job at this store at first they emails me about job interview told them I couldn’t come till 1pm they said they be fine with that and then I turned up at 1 pm like was agreed all the way from Ely 43 min and then they told me come back half past 1 and then I come back half one they told me leave ur number we will contact u that’s was very bad and no professional from a manager was lady manager there and a men middle age manager to I don’t believe how they offer manager job to stupid people like that

We booked a table and were turned away because they were too busy and short staffed, along with others who had booked! Kids were in tears as we left so thank you. It was absolute chaos in there. One family we spoke had been waiting 2 hours for food and were about to walk out too. Manager so far out of their depth it was embarrassing and shameful. No apology or anything. Why oh why could you not call or email people who had booked to tell them their booking would not be honoured? Never ever again!

Terrible customer service! Please avoid. We waited a very long time for the food, which wasn't up to scratch when it arrived. Cold and hard pasta for children. We asked to order desserts for our children, after already waiting a long time for our mains and were told three times that 'it's not our job, ask your own waitress' of which we didn't have because she'd gone home! Rude staff and an awful experience. Spend your money elsewhere!

Service was incredibly slow. Only one waiter, Jason, working his socks off and doing a fantastic job, he saved the night for me. Just not enough staff for a restaurant this size! I appreciate it is midweek but I don’t normally get this slow a service, certainly didn’t when I visited midweek before the refurb on several occasions.

Always reliable for a commodity pizza and a leisurely lunch, PE Bury St Edmunds is a favourite stop-off.

The most disgusting customer service I have ever experienced! . My partner had ordered herself a “meal for one” deal which included a pizza ,dough balls and a regular soft drink . Upon receiving the delivery we where surprised that not only Did the dough balls not get delivered but the regular soft drink didn’t either . We spoke to the delivery driver and showed him the receipt which he replied to “the only gave me a pizza” . Shortly after we then rang pizza express to see what had happened to the order to only be greeted by Natalia ( excuse me if I miss spelt the name) and her disgusting attitude and poor communication skills . After we listened to her reasoning of why the order had been misplaced she was basically just blaming the driver and saying he didn’t wait for the rest of the order . To me that doesn’t make sense as to why you would give the driver 1/3 of the order and not just give him the whole order in one ? . Regardless who is at fault the customer service and communication skills were absolutely disgusting . 0 sympathy 0 care and a complete lack of professionalism.
