Pizza Express in Windsor and Maidenhead

What a shame. We got placed on a table that seemed to form part of the kitchen, worktops with various ingredients, bits and pieces all within reach. A very uncomfortable situation to enjoy a meal. But worse than this was whom I can only assume was the manager, as he wasn’t in the usual Pizza Express uniform, instead he had very ill fitting trousers that revealed his bright red Calvin’s, that were on show every time he bent down or climbed the stairs, sometimes even revealing a lovely bum crack. A view not helped by the 30+ minutes wait between the starter and pizza. Not the best experience we’ve had in a Pizza Express in the last 30 years or so! Other than the above the food was up to the usual very high standards that we’ve come to expect from Pizza Express

Ok but tons of kids from surrounding schools so service times might be effective and quite noisy

Beautiful location for this restaurant unfortunately parking can be a challenge as there are No parking outside restaurant, but you can park 100 yards beside the wine store. The restaurant is a split level with a choice of stalls and high tables, then next level the usual style comfy bench seats and chairs, compared to other Pizza Express this restaurant has a charming atmosphere, with open kitchen to experience the fresh smell of pizza. The food is of good quality and chose to eat here due to our bad experience in Woking. The desserts are nothing really special are already made, but we did enjoy. The service is smooth and friendly and overall best Pizza Express we been to so far. Lots of places to visit when there so you can make it great day out.

We’ve been coming here for years and last came about a year ago . Have never seen the restaurant in such bad shape. An old fridge in the lobby , litter, food on the floor

We had dinner for two one Friday night here. Menu is very much Pizza orientated as you would expect, with 4 or 5 pasta dishes and 4 or.5 sales. We had the garlic bread with Mozzerella to start which was really nice, lots of garlic and cheese. For main We had the Chicken with Pesto Pasta. Vlwhile nice it was very oily and no offer of parmigiana cheese. Service was fine but items like no wine cooler or ice bucket for a bottle of white wine just let it down.

Honestly, this is my favourite place. Apart from great atmosphere and delicious food, the friendly team make the dining experience so great that we are looking forward to returning! 5 stars from us, guys! Well done!

Always crisp service hot pizzas and good ambience.

We had our son’s 7th birthday party at the restaurant. It was fantastic! The staff were amazing and kept 10 children engaged through the pizza making activity. They were so helpful and attentive and made the day so special. Every one of our guests mentioned how great it was. Special mention to Katya, Ayshe, James, Henry and Mimi! Highly recommend this branch!

So disappointed in our visit today. 4.30pm… early dinner with my mum and 2 children. No other people in. My mum was still eating and waitress came and took my empty bowl and then came back and started clearing my children’s. Whilst my mum was STILL eating she then came back and asked if we would like to see the dessert menu…. The place was EMPTY. Absolutely no need to be interrupted and it is SUCH bad manners to take / clear plates whilst people are still eating. Ordered brownie for children’s dessert and it was rock solid. We were told ‘that’s just how it is in our restaurant’ however we frequently go to PE and have never come across such a solid lump Of dry brown dessert before! Food was otherwise yummy but service and attitude absolutely ruined it….!

Great pizza and service, but charging £5.25 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni (which can be bought in Waitrose less than 500m away for £1.00) is unacceptable.

It’s a Pizza Express so does everything in a simple, solid fashion. Staff were very welcoming and dealt with a child-filled lunchtime session very well.

Brilliant food and service. Just what I was expecting from a good Pizza Express. Worth booking a table beforehand, especially if it's a typically busy time, and there isn't much in the way of accessibility for wheelchair users.

Amazing food, amazing service, server named Keshav was really kind and gave us an amazing service. 10/10 would recommend going to pizza express sunningdale, kkep it up!!

The options were alot, the food was amazying and the gluten menu had great options, our server ki was amazing and dealt with alot of patience with our preferences

We’ve had a shocking experience with this restaurant. Incorrect orders, incomplete orders, poor customer service, lack of takeaway cutlery, and cold food. The quality and conduct of this branch was not worth the Pizza Express label, today. We have had some lovely experiences eating in, especially with the children. Today was not their finest moment.

This is our favourite pizza express. The staff are great, but most importantly the pizzas made here are always really good, often awesome.

Friendly staff and were good with our kids of 3 and 9. You always know what you're going to get with a Pizza Express. Food was ok but split level building might be a problem for some.

Deceptive - looks small from the outside but has lots of seating inside. Was quite when we entered. It is on 3 levels with no access for wheelchair users. Food was good and service was excellent.

Great pizzas great staff very relaxed atmosphere

Never felt as unwelcome in a restaurant as I did on Saturday at pizza express sunningdale. Miserable atmosphere created by staff that really need basic training in politeness. We were greeted at the top of the stairs by an angry looking woman who seemed fairly annoyed we had the audacity to enter the premises and ask for a table for 4. This led to us being weirdly sized up in silence before much deliberation then stood next to a table whilst still staring at us. A great start to the evening! In the centre of the restaurant are the team of chefs that make it seem like the world has ended if you ask for a Caesar salad but with no pepper (shock horror). Didn't seem like too Outrageous a request to me but the chefs seemed infuriated by it. Obviously was stretching their culinary skills to the limit! If you do ask for this dish and have the misfortune of sitting near the chefs then be prepared for audible disgust and anger at such a request. On the plus side you will get to see the chefs preparing said salad in a violent and exaggerated manner whilst snarling, then on completion a skillful yet HARD throw of the bowl to the far end of the preparation area. The Michelin Star is in the post fellas!

Pizza was great. Terrible service for phone collection. On collection the lady said she had no change and asked me for change? First time i have been to a restaurant where cash is accepted but if you give too much cash (over by 5p) they cannot give you the change back? And to top it off she blamed covid as a 5p shortage on a cash flow problem. Nonsense

Lovely meal, great service and welcome

Pre ordered for a pick up approx 1 hour away , collected order and had obviously been sat there for atleast 45 mins . Paid £45 for cold soggy pizzas . No one answers phone there and generic email from customer services offering a bogof . Awfully run terrible organisation and take no responsibility for messing up

Excellent pizza, and my wife quite fancied the waiter!

I went to Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berkshire, to day Monday 23rd Dec, with my wife & 6yr old grandson for lunch. We had booked & our table was available. Our waitress was unhelpful, not friendly,l & not once smiled. The chef, the over weight one with a beard, kept using his mobile phone over the food that he was cooking, scratching his beard, head, & back under his top, If I had seen this before we had eaten we would have definitely walked out The food was okay, not great value & we will not return to this branch again. I must add that this is the first time I have not posted a favourable, ever .

Service was excellent as always. The staff were friendly and attentive. Pizza was good but the base seemed...different. garlic bread was burnt, and served burnt.chilli oil not spicy at all

Camberley Pizza Express has fantastic staff and it's always perfect food. Some places can be hit and miss. Also love the Sunningdale restaurant which has just had a makeover.

What can I say! - we thought it was going to be a quick pizza and home, but we received such an incredibly friendly welcome from all the team and within 2mins the kids where invited to add the toppings to their own pizza and even play with the dough - all the team from the two guys in the kitchen to the team front of hour where excellent - Emily was our waitress and was great fun and really accommodating to my 3 and 5year olds demands!! - to capture the event I have some fun photos to share with this review

Nice but people working there are a bit too chilled

Awful food and I can confidently give the "worst Italian I've been to" badge to this one. The food looks like somebody just threw what he found in the kitchen on the plate. This is particularly relevant for Cesar salad. The quality is far worse then in average cafe but you need to pay restaurant price for this. Seriously? Im not returning.

We had vouchers given - thank god for that as would have been even more disappointed if we would have paid full price. Average food, service was ok even though waitress forgot the babyccino for my little girl. Took three attempts to pay as the card reader apparently has a weak signal. Manager came to sort it after a while. Would not recommend or go again. Waitrose opposite sells better Italian ready meals.

After a day out at nearby LEGOLAND we decided to give this place another go. Our experience was worse so I've updated my review from 3 to 2 stars. This time, they were lacking key ingredients. The main impact of this was it complicated things for one of our party who has allergies, and the staff lacked the product knowledge to confirm if the vegan cheese was soya free (there is an allergy menu but it isn't clear because it lists dishes, not serperate ingredients). Apart from the main waitress serving us (who was doing her best), other staff seemed to view this as an inconvenience. We eventually ordered, and though my pizza was missing ingredients, I'd lost the will to live by that point. Unfortunately the overall experience was not good and this is probably the worst Pizza Express I've been to. The second star is mainly for the waitress who tried to help. Original review from 2018: The food is decent enough, but that's what you'd expect. However the service was a bit lacking, with several of the waiting staff seemingly confused by their surroundings. The saving grace was one waitress who seemed to know what she was doing, and to be fair we were served quickly. The toilets were a bit grotty but the restaurant itself was clean and tidy.

I normally like pizza express but I have to say I was disappointed with this branch. Restaurant was empty and the staff looked like they just couldn't be bothered and wanted us gone. Waitress rushed us at every opportunity, was generally rude and the kids food was forgotten by the kitchen. Overall I now understand why it was empty.

Love the chain but this outlet let the side down a little

Excellent restaurant and service

The staff are constantly going out the back to smoke and leaving the fire door open which makes the restaurant really cold. We asked them twice to close the door, clearly smoking is more important than a customer experience. I'm not convinced that they are washing their hands after smoking, it didn't look like formal breaks. I also saw staff scooping ice cream onto wafers at the main food service counter and eating it. The manager ignored this and was on his phone all night. I saw one of the waiters swipe the tips from a table. It was a Saturday night. 5 people £120 OK if the service and food is good. Poor show pizza express, we won't return.

Excellent as always. We were greeted by Annas in a very friendly way. Annas remembered the wine we had last time & the fact I don't like caramelised onion & suggested I add roquito to my Leggera Padana. He suggested I try some first just in case it was too hot. My wife had a Veneziana. Both meals were delicious & well priced. Annas is a great asset to Pizza Express. Barty also made us very welcome & treated us like important regulars.

This is a great place to meet with friends and have a relatively inexpensive meal. Inexpensive it may be but it delivers 100% on food quality and service. I have no hesitation in recommending you try here. I went with friends but they cater for families with children so there is no excuse not to give it a try.

Got some of our order wrong but where quick to rectify the problem and very apologetic. The food was average.

They forgot our starters, and staff were a little careless. Food was very tasty though and promt once they'd remembered to make it.

Waitress was difficult, but food as always great.

Made a reservation for 20:00 but it didn't matter as we weren't expected by the unwelcoming manager.  Our orders were taken within 10 minutes however our three pizzas arrived an hour after that. It was busy, which I can understand, but we wouldn't have known as we were never acknowledged by our waitress or the manager who walked passed our empty table many times. By the time we finished our pizzas 21:20, the place was almost empty, however it didn't mean there was any service given to us, had to scream out to the waitress to ask for dessert and we finally paid our bill around 22:00. Two hours for a pizza and dessert, we decided we wouldn't talk to the manager as he wasn't bothered

Went at 4PM on a weekday - staff friendly and happy to help!

I always have a good experience at pizza express Sunningdale. Last time I ordered 2 pizzas online and my order was ready on time, furthermore, I asked the manager if I could buy some pizza dough and I was given a few pieces absolutely for free! They usually don't do that but they did it for me, it was over my expectations, people were polite and smiling. Thank you very much!

It's OK. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Pizzas are typical Pizza Express affairs. Eat there with a voucher and it's pretty cheap. Can be busy especially early evening when parents can't be bothered to cook dinner.

Not brilliant and the service could use some work. But it's consistent and convenient. We take the family about once a month.

The food was high quality as you'd expect but i ordered gluten free and the waitress got my order wrong so I wound up having a few issues which could have been avoided otherwise. It's a shame because I usually love the pizza express brand.

Terrible experience, 40 mins after ordering we overheard the waiter asking the chef about our order, the reply was "what order". The waiter didn't bother coming to tell us of the mistake, we had to go up and ask. Needless to say we up and left. There were only 2 other tables occupied on the Saturday lunch time, now we know why.

Worst pizza express I have ever been too. Romana base- soggy. And cold. Polenta chips- soggy. Bruschetta- struggled to find the tomato! Pretty much a greasy bread with onion on top. Service slow and no apology. Interesting you won't find this one on trip advisor..... Removed due to bad reviews by the manager perhaps?! I'm accustomed to a certain standard from pizza express. This one is far, far short of that. Avoid. ---- To give the manager credit, on showing him this review he apologised, comped my meal and said he was short staffed tonight.
