Order the “too good to go” deal. Supposed to be three starters of approx £15 value. When we opened the bag when we got home we had been given some dough balls and a small piece of garlic bread.. nothing else! Rang hoping the restaurant would put things right (unfortunately not) and was told that the dough balls were a double portion! Took pictures to show how small the portion was. Really poor and daughter very upset. Will not return and would definitely not recommend.

Came here last Friday late afternoon, food was very tasty - they now have half and half pizzas on the menu in the larger 'Romana' size, which is great. Went for the American Hot/Pollo Forza 'half and half' which arrived in a timely manner and was very tasty. There were also no complaints from any others in my party regarding the food. The wait staff were very attentive too and friendly. Only issue we had was we ended up getting sat in the higher level at the back, which it feels like they reserve for the families with younger kids. Of course I understand that kids are noisy (having been through this age with two myself) however some of them were out of control to the point where the waitress had to ask some of them to stop running around and hitting each other with balloons ( the parent was not intervening!). We did ask to move but were reassured that the tables were soon finishing.. so decided to go with it. Probably a bit unfair to take a mark of the restaurant for this, but they did decide to put us in amongst these tables. So, overall, we had a good experience, slightly marred by where we were sat, so if you dont have very young children and want a more peaceful meal, try to avoid the very back part of the restaurant!!

Went for a big family meal (10 of us) at Pizza express in Sunningdale as it suits everyone from the 5 year old to grandparents. We don’t expect much from pizza express except consistency but the pizzas were absolutely delicious, hot and perfectly made. Writing the review mainly because the staff could not have been kinder to my Dad who has dementia. They were so patient (girl with a long dark ponytail!) I was really touched.

Food is consistently good, but service was really lacking on this occasion. Had to chase twice for a missing drink, and wait a long time to place our food order. Waitress looked cross when I (politely) called to catch her attention to place our order. There wasnt any apology or explanation, and no smiles, except from the chef who eventually delivered our food to table. Possibly understaffed that evening, but please speak to your customers. Waitress seemed particularly sullen as we paid, presumably she realised we weren’t likely to be tipping much. Such a shame. This restaurant is a great location for us as a group of friends who travel from several directions to meet, eat and catch up, but I think we will be seeking an alternative venue after this visit.

.I went to Pizza Express, Sunningdale, Berkshire, today 23rd Dec for lunch with my wife & our 6yr old grandson We had booked & our table was available. Our waitress was both unfriendly & unhelpful, not smiling once. The chef the over weight one with the beard kept using his mobile phone over the food he was cooking, scratching his beard, head & back under his top. Had we have seen this before we had eaten we would most definitely have have walked out. The food was okay, not great value. I must add that this is the first review that I have ever posted that has not been favourable & will never return this branch again.

I went here with some friends recently and we good a really good table at the back of the restaurant (the best place). The staff were really nice and friendly and made ordering very easy. I am gluten free and they have gf dough balls, pizza and pasta which was very nice as I could eat what my friends were having. The food took quite a long time to come, but there were also a lot of us and normally it doesn’t take that long. My only complaint is that they leave the back door open and people usually smoke near there so you can sometimes smell the cigarette smoke. Very nice restaurant and highly recommend!

We visited this restaurant after a trip to Legoland as a family. After waiting at front of house to be served, someone eventually came and seated us. We ordered drinks and starters straight away on sitting down. The restaurant was not busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff, but we waited 10 minutes for our drinks and longer for the starter. We ordered our mains when our drinks finally arrived. The meals arrived and the pasta on my bolognese around the edges was completely black burnt and rock hard. I waited for the waitresses to reappear, but she didn't so I returned my meal to the kitchen myself. The lady on the table next to me stopped me, she explained she had also sent her burnt disgusting meal back. They replaced my meal with a pizza and whilst eating that I found bones in the ham. The restaurant overall is grotty and needs a clean, although tables were cleared there was food on the floor under the tables. I have never had a bad meal at a Pizza Express, but I will never return to this branch!

I took the family for lunch at Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berks Saturday 23rd Feb. They had emailed me with a promotional birthday offer of a free bottle of wine or Prosseco. Pizza's aren't my favourite type of food & normally I wouldn't have one, but my five year old grandson convinced us to go there, so it was a good excuse to take up their offer.. The restaurant was very busy & the staff were attentive, friendly & efficient. My Pizza was quite cold on arrival, but I didn't complain or send it back as this would have had me eating after ever one else had finished. Despite the slight hiccup we all enjoyed our visit & the restaurant is definitely a popular place with children.

Pizza Express has always disappointed me. The lack of flair is palpable and the side 'salads' breathtakingly uninspired. But when it's the only joint in town, what are we to do? Not quite so disappointed with my pizza this time. I opted for the diablo with thin crust, leading to a large diameter which is larger than the plate. Toppings are OK but boring. I had a glass of Montepulciano which was OK. Karen had similar. £33 each including tip - a lot of money for the most basic of meals. The mark-up must be astounding.

We ended up in this Pizza Express at the lowest point of a rotten day. We (family of four) had arrived at Heathrow from Los Angeles frazzled after a delayed flight, missed connecting flight, all our bags lost, & little sleep for 24 hours, all thanks to American Airlines. By chance we stopped at this Pizza Express late afternoon to feed the kids and decide what to do as we had planned to drive north but did not want to go far in case our bags turned up soon (ended taking a week for them to all turn up).

Visited with 5 family & friends for evening meal. Good access for wheel-chair up slope to left of main frontage, but quite a push as it is a bit steep. Pizzas were excellent, as was the shiraz we had. Disabled lavatory clean and fresh near rear entrance on upper level, and reasonably accessible. They had run out of some desserts, and my pizza came on the wrong base! Still, all was very tasty. Without the vouchers we had it would have been a bit pricey.

I have used Pizza Express for years as a meal destination but no longer. Had lunch here with the family and was disappointed that changes to the basic menu mean that old staples like Four Seasons have disappeared and the Romana range are unjustifiably expensive. In terms of quality the dough was just soggy on the standard pizza and the amount of tomato sauce on top so minimal it was almost translucent. Service was average and they clearly prioritised takeout orders over looking after us at tables. No alcohol consumed but bill still came to close on £100 which is absurd for a pizza lunch, at least in my opinion. In future I shall forget about eating out and just buy them at the supermarket. Shame to see such a good chain go downhill. I won't return.

If you live in Sunningdale and you fancy a pizza… this is the only joint in town. It is a rather badly laid out long, thin space with harsh surfaces and A LOT OF NOISE, when, as usual, there are lots of kids around! The pizzas are of course formulaic but on the whole pretty good. My main beef used to be the size of Pizza Express pizzas… which over the years seemed to grow smaller, as did the plates (or maybe I just grew bigger?), but now you have the option to upgrade to the 'Romana' range which, for a premium, gives you a pizza at the right size - with nice toppings. We arrived midweek with a voucher, entitling us to 2 courses for under £12. This proved to be a cynical rip-off and totally useless as it did not include the 'Romana' range and only gave an option for 2 very basic desserts from the ample dessert menu. We were very disappointed and a little disgruntled that an anticipated cheapish Pizza night out cost us about £27 a head - but then we did consume a bottle of Montepulciano (£17.50ish) to offset our disappointment!

We visited the Sunningdale restaurant recently one Saturday late afternoon, not a great experience. First we were sat in an empty part of the restaurant that was then subject to a smelly mop being pushed about cleaning up from lunch. We eventually got moved to another table, but the service remained 'sloppy' staff walking about not doing a lot, waited for a bottle of water for 20mins. The place was generally untidy, no one seemed to take any pride in what they did, pizzas were distinctly average not the Pizza Express experience I remember. We will not return, not worth the risk especially when there are other alternatives locally. Someone needs to grab hold of this location and shake it up, get the staff motivated, train them how to treat customers well, tidy up and get energised. What a shame..

We really fancied some Italian fodder and came across a Pizza Express in Sunningdale. We had a warm greeting and were seated as soon as a table was cleared for us. It was great to see how all the pizzas and other dishes were made as we were sat really close to the kitchen area. The service was very efficient and we received our order promptly. The salad was delicious, the pizza the same, but the only fly in the ointment was the risotto I had - new on the menu - it was nice but not the best I've ever had...not quite the creamy white wine risotto I was expecting as it was rather dry. But that's my own fault from straying away from ordering a pizza!!At the end of our meal we asked for a number for a taxi to take us back to our hotel and they offered to call the taxi company for us and it arrived about 5 mins later - brilliant :)Overall, had a good time, thank you :)

I really like the Pizza Express format, and have eaten in them across the country as I like the consistency between branches. The Sunningdale one is our closest and most used and we have always had a decent meal there over the years. The staff are always really friendly and helpful, although some weekend lunch times get a bit manic and sometimes the service wobbles but nothing major or worth complaining about (a forgotten drink, slow with the bill) but the food always offsets any service issues. The Calabrese is my pizza of choice since it was introduced as a guest pizza but has now become a feature of the menu which is fantastic. Drinks are on the pricey side but then where aren't they these days...

Myself and my husband visited yesterday for a late lunch. There is no obvious reception desk and we waited five minutes to be seated. We were sat in the back where a huge glass wall gives a delightful view of a car park - the decor is very cafe style rather than restaurant and different to any other PE I've been too, unfortunately it reminded me strongly of McDonald's. This area was almost empty except for us but all the tables were still left with plates and glasses from previous diners which made it feel really messy. Our waiter was a smoker, nothing wrong with that but he smelt very strongly of ciggarettes which was unpleasant. The chefs also emptied their bin which they had to carry all the way through the restaurant and pass every table to do - not nice to see when you know they are cooking your pizza! I had a new pizza billed as "the hottest ever" in their menu, I usually have the etna and it was very similar and not hotter at all. Finally, and this may not be there fault but there were 5 or 6 incredibly unruly and badly behaved kids who were running up and down the stairs, climbing the banister an charging in and out of the loos. The waitress asked a couple of times that they sit down and then gave up which meant they disrupted everyone else's meal and again made me think we were in McDonald's! A real shame as it gives a bad impression of what pizza express can be.
