Pizza Express in Windsor and Maidenhead

We visited whilst on a weekend away as we were staying nearby. The location is excellent. Inside the restaurant is small with a great atmosphere (there may have been more seating upstairs but we didn't go there). We loved the decoration inside. Super friendly welcome. We were lucky and given the window table with a view of Windsor Castle. Excellent food and great service. Would highly recommend.

You know what you are getting with Pizza Express and the food doesn’t really differ by branch - but this is a lovely little spot opposite the castle. What really stood out for me at this branch - was the service. It was super friendly.

Fabulous freshly prepared food and excellent service. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were spotless. We would definitely visit again.

Four of us had a late dinner here. My sister and I shared calamari and a La Reine pizza. Great calamari and the best La Reine I’ve had in quite a while. Smaller than our local offering but plump, generous with toppings and tasty. The other pizza, and the pasta got a thumbs up too. Pleasant service. Not the most attractive room but I would eat there again.

Was disappointed with this Pizza Express sadly. It’s a small building and we had a table down stairs which felt a bit of a squeeze. If there are a few of you then the tables upstairs looked better. We had to chase cutlery a couple of times and the pizzas were just ok.

The food was good. The customer service could have been better. Some of our order was forgotten, the waitress at the start was quite rude, and we were left waiting for 15 mins when we wanted the bill. I had to approach the staff to ask for it. In addition, we witnessed a member of staff in the kitchen arguing and shouting. Not a very pleasant experience. I would order take away food from this establishment but if you are looking for a dining experience, I would look elsewhere!

Visited today. Popular restaurant in town centre but managed to get a lovely window seat. Warm welcome, good variety on menu. Lasagne was lovely, good portion and my son lived his huge garlic prawn pizza. Very good price for 1 starter, 2 pizzss and lasagna with 3 drinks. Had to rush and skip desserts due to parking.

Although this restaurant seems to be getting mixed reviews, we couldn't fault it. Got a table last minute although it was busy, pizzas were all delicious, service was fast and friendly - all good, no complaints from us!

Wonderful staff, food was super quick. My son dropped his lollie and the staff were very kind to replace it for him. It was also my husband's birthday and they made a super birthday dessert for him. Thank you everyone 🙂

OK, it's a chain and standard fare; but I think what sets this Windsor branch apart is the customer service; the waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient; food was good, prices not too bad; can they improve? yes, orders take too long to get to the table, not sure if that is because they have too few cooks, or too few serving staff; but fixable, right?

Called in for family Sunday lunch - it was very busy but we had booked. The food was ok - not up to pizza express usual standards. But our waitress really stood out. Thanks Grace you were amazing - friendly and efficient and patient and kind with the children. You really made our visit - thanks very much!

What a great branch! We had just been to Legoland and were all pretty frazzled and disappointed but the level of service and the quality of the food was really spot on. The service from the really friendly and knowledgeable attentive staff completely changed our energy. Thank you very much!

Please, I beg you do not eat at this restaurant. My mom and I ate here last night for dinner. Now my mom has food poisoning. Unfortunately we are here the night before our trip to Paris and now my mom is violently sick due to the nasty practices in the kitchen of this restaurant. Also there were gnats everywhere. So don’t be like me. Eat somewhere else.

Excellent family evening meal whilst staying overnight in Windsor. Reserved ahead for a table using the app. Greeted after a short wait and shown to a table upstairs. We were served all night by a gentleman, not sure of his name, but his service couldn't be faulted. I hope Pizza express look after him. Prompt to take our drinks and then our food order but giving more time if needed, checking in to make sure everything was ok, remembering to bring oil and pepper which so many don't. The food was delicious as always and we weren't waiting too long even though the restaurant was fairly busy. I would definitely recommend and visit again.

We visited Pizza Express Windsor at Christmas time in Windsor as two families of four. The food was excellent, but the service was even better. Nothing was too much for Amar and he served us impeccably. He's very polite and is an asset to Pizza Express. I do hope that he is recognised for a staff award or something similar. We visited during the period of mourning…at approximately 6pm. We were kept waiting with no acknowledgement of our presence for a period of at least 5 minutes, in what was an empty restaurant bar one table who had finished their meal; only to be told no tables were available until 8pm. Accept it was a busy time for the town but the customer service was appalling; sullen faced and not welcoming at all 😢

We just wanted to thank our staff on the day, our waiter and the manager!! Our service was impeccable and we were really looked after and treated better than you could wish for. The food was prompt and our PIzza's were to absolutely to die...

We were met by very friendly staff when we went for a quick pizza in Windsor - it is rather small downstairs and can be a bit noisy with a lot of people in there - but overall it we had a nice time there...

Went here for dinner last night to celebrate our sons birthday. Great service and when they knew we were celebrating they bought him out cake and candle and sang to him. Lovely evening - would recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️

After touring Windsor Castle, my family and I stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner. The pizza is so thin and delicious, we really enjoyed it. Our server was also delightful! We ended up in a window table, and right across the street, in addition to having the incredible view that is the castle, they were also Christmas images being lit up on the side of the castle! It was really cool! Great place to stop, good service, good food!

Went out for our dinner tonight and vegetarian pizza was excellent as was the device from the young lady and her colleague in upstairs area. Huge improvement in quality at this venue and exce5value with O2 deal.

I visited here the end of November for our daughters birthday, we were staying at Legoland hotel but wanted something nicer, from the moment we walked in the staff were helpful and went out there way to make everything perfect for us.I had a pizza for a main and it was just gorgeous it was a big pizza but was to nice to leave any behind, I asked the staff if they could sing our daughter happy birthday which they did for us, all in all a great experience and if I’m ever in the area again I’ll defo be bak, clean polite and very good food thanks again to you all and your staff.

Visited on the spur of the moment, was pleasantly surprised as both pizzas ordered were very tasty, if in my opinion expensive at nearly £15.However as we enjoyed the food we decided to go the following night with friends. Meals took quite a while to arrive and were disappointing compared to the previous night. I had ordered a Romano pizza, but was brought the Classico, I didn’t complain as to have a fresh pizza cooked would have resulted in me eating alone as my friends would have finished their meals. My partners cannelloni was very small and rather bland. Our friends meals were satisfactory.They also tried to charge me for my original Romano pizza .

We were visiting the castle and decided to pop in for a pizza after wandering around the town all day. A waitress greeted us politely and seated us by the window which offered amazing views of the castle. Service was friendly and our food came out relatively quickly despite the restaurant being full. After reading the previous reviews we were hesitant about eating here but they really seem to have gotten it together, the manager was on the floor with the team and seemed to have the whole restaurant under control. We’ll be back next time we’re in town!

We made a reservation through the website, and arrived as planned for this yesterday (4th). We were given no assistance with our pram on entering - we noticed the restaurant was heaving. When we managed to attract attention of one of the staff, we advised we had a reservation - we were asked if our baby son needed to stay in his pram or not (we said yes as he had barely slept or not), for the waiter to then pull a face and tell us “all our booked tables are upstairs”. What good is that to parents with babies or toddlers in prams, or how about if we had been wheelchair users?! We explained there was no mention of this ‘policy’ on their website - this was met with a shrug of the shoulders and an insincere apology. We’d got Tesco vouchers to pay for this meal, so we ended up having to go elsewhere - extremely disappointing, particularly when we felt completely humiliated in front of a full restaurant. By complete contrast the Nando’s restaurant just a few doors along welcomed us with open arms, helped with the kids, made sure we were happy and were not in the least bit surprised about the experience we had. I should stress we are regular visitors to our local Pizza Express in Kent who operate in complete contrast (thankfully!) to this awful place.

We visited windsor yesterday afternoon as my grandson likes pizza we decided on this place i live near one in cheadle and the service from there is second to none brilliant so hoping this would be the same went in the staff could see us waiting at the door we were ignored ten minutes later we were seated. Thats after they had wiped the two tables that were empty, two sets of cutlery were put down as the waiter had brought over three but one was dirty we were seated by a waiter who looked as if we should not of been there he was not pleasant at all if my grandson had not been hungry i would of left . Food ok will not be visiting there again .

I am usually a fan of Pizza Express but felt let down on this occasion. The service was poor and the pizza arrived cold. Based on my last experience, I probably won't be visiting the Windsor branch again. It appears I am not the only one let down judging by other reviews!

Normalmente disfruto de una visita a Pizza Express y particularmente me gustan sus ensaladas. Desafortunadamente, nuestra visita esta noche no fue una experiencia placentera, principalmente debido a que el personal de la cocina y el servery son increíblemente desconsiderados y simplemente se quedan atrás. A long wait for the food, it was cold and some orders were wrong when it eventually came. Drink orders taken and then didn't arrive. Staff not very friendly. Very disappointing. Will look for somewhere else to eat next time I'm in Windsor.

We came to Pizza Express for Valentine's and the food was the usual Pizza Express food, delicious at reasonable prices. However, I felt as if the staff were quite rude and looked down upon us, didn't seem interested in giving us a good service atall which really let it down...

Visited Windsor for a three day break and my son craves the menu hence our visit. Having been seated and taking our order the waitress returned to acknowledge that my wife's choice was now not available as they had had a busy lunch. The waitress then demanded that my wife picked another item without giving back the menu to choose. Eventually the food did arrive and was the normal standard. Upon picking desert the waitress returned to inform my wife that she had sold the last desert and that once again she had to reorder. What a sad experience. If we had known that some of the menu was sold out before we ordered we would have gone elsewhere. Having a busy lunch session is not really an excuse. Come on Pizza Express - You can do better.

Don't usually use chain restaurants. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we ended up in the Pizza Express, Windsor.

Met up with a friend for dinner at Pizza Express - Maidenhead Tuesday 15th January 2019 When we arrived it was fairly quiet for 1930 hours but the service and was excellent see photos for our choice from their Menu

My daughter took me here for lunch in my birthday and we enjoyed fabulous service, food and drinks. Met and seated straight away. Served quickly, checked on. Staff were prompt and friendly. 👍

I understand that waitress and waiters are under a lot of pressure and trying to keep a smile up all day is difficult.

I visited with my girlfriend for a quick birthday lunch today (12th) we waited to be sat for 4 minutes whilst the blonde waitress carried on talking to her friend sat at a table nearby - having got fed up of waiting we sat ourselves, it looked as though she had got the hint as she immediately brought menus over, sadly this was not the case and she went back to leaning on the counter and chatting to her friend, another 7 minutes later we still hadn’t been asked about drinks so we decided enough was enough and got up to walk out, she rushed over and asked us for drinks as I was already stood up with my coat on, I told her no thanks as we’d waited more than long enough and she was more interested in chatting and checking her phone, she couldn’t have cared less, said ‘okay’ and went back to chatting to her friends.

We went because we had birthday gift vouchers . On a quiet Monday night there were about 6 tables so atmosphere was good ... Whilst disappointed our pizza choice wasn't available and that there was no balsamic vinegar left in the restaurant, the waiter did take my food allergy seriously and I was surprised at the size of the calamari starter portion size it was generous and all food was piping hot ( although a finger bowl for the chicken wings would have been welcomed) two starters , two mains, two drinks £37 ... Tip was not added to bill and discretionary which was refreshing change - overall very pleasant

I tend to have the chicken Caesar salad at Pizza Express these days as a change from pizza. Today at the Windsor branch I had the best chicken salad ever, really full of ingredients and very nicely presented. In order to get maximum value from my £30 Tesco Clubcard vouchers, the waiter suggested three small profiteroles (which were sublime) and a coffee.

Really helpful team, place is noisy and very very busy due to location. Nice starters and desserts. Would go again.

Pedimos la pizza en 1707 y fue aquí por 1720. Absolutamente fantástico para alguien que busca relajarse en sus vacaciones en la habitación del hotel después de un día de turismo en Windsor. Mi esposa y yo conseguimos una pizza clásica de corteza y fue divino! Tengo el estadounidense, ya que soy de América, ¿por qué no? Y mi esposa consiguió la pizza margherita. Being a regular and fan of PizzaExpress, I decided to give the Windsor restaurant a second visit after a huge disappointment last visit. This time I escaped before making my final order. Very rude service - I wish it had been no service. Will continue to go to Zizzi when I am in Windsor.

I really cannot understand all the negative reviews! We came here with two tired and grumpy girls after a long day in Legoland and arrived 15 mins before our booking, our table wasn't ready and was still being used but the manager was really accommodating and found us a table on the top floor. We were absolutely boiling so he offered to put on the air conditioning which was very much welcomed. We had a young waitress and waiter who despite having to go up and down two flights of stairs to serve us were really cheerful and welcoming and warm and friendly. The young waitress was really interactive with our children which made them feel really special and as they are normally overlooked in a restaurant this made a huge difference to their experience which was brilliant as we were actually visiting for the weekend for their birthday treat. Nothing we asked was too much trouble and the food was absolutely spot on and we all really enjoyed it. Also had the bonus of using Tesco Clubcard vouchers which was ideal! Would certainly visit here again next time we are in the area :)

We have been to many Pizza Express restaurants before and everything was fine.. until last night.

Admittedly it was busy and mostly full of tourists, but we wanted an easy meal with the kids.

We eat in pizza express a lot and normally love it. Not this one. It's shabby and grubby. The toilets were disgusting. Our drinks and food were quick but practically thrown at our table with barely a glance. Not impressed at all.

The service sucks something bad! Very slow and not overtly worried if we were there or not. Ugh the food was good tho so there is that. First night in Windsor so we were tired and not wanting to wait that long for food!

We had a table booked for 2pm after visiting Windsor Castle. We arrived and were shown straight to our tables. As my daughter had bought herself a Corgie all staff where asking her its name and even brought out its own bowl of water when serving our drinks. She loved this and all of the staff that served us listened when she would tell them all about it. The restaurant its self is very busy but this is not unexpected with its location. During this visit we enjoyed our meals and did not have to wait long periods to receive food or drinks.

We went here as our children like pizza and they had a table free. The waitress could not be bothered and looked miserable. She didn’t engage with our children and every time she cane to the table I wanted to say cheer up! The food was ok but I’ve had a better pizza from Morrisons! The one positive was the sav blanc was lovely. The brownie my son had for dessert was so small! The dough balls were tiny! The chain has seriously gone downhill and with staff that don’t care it’s not helping! I wouldn’t visit again.

We visited on Tuesday of ascot and the service we received by a young female waitress was appalling. She was eating gum whilst taking our order. She was snappy and just rude.

Not one to rush into writing a review based on one bad experience we have, as we are avid Pizza Express fans, been 3 times now since relocating back to the area and my word is this place shocking. The management do not care about any customer service. The ‘chefs’ are always arguing amongst themselves and are sometimes actually sitting on food preparation services. When they are not they are spitting and smoking just outside the restaurant in the bus shelter. For a Pizza Chain that should follow the same high standards across all of their restaurants this one comes in way too short on any measure. So much so we have actually gone off visiting. Shocking shocking shocking is all I can say. I don’t even think it is a franchise so come on corporate get your house in order.

We had so bad experience there, we were not welcome from the waiter as we went in, he was rude and refused to serve us, he whispered and pointed at us to the waitress to come and serve our table. Service was too slow and food was not good and so small portions, so expensive too..

Nice location opposite Windsor Castle. Very friendly staff and good quality foods. Was very impressed with the way they catered for my special needs(!) - dairy intolerance and a broken arm (had to get them to cut my pizza up for me - they handled it with grace!).

I had a crust with some sauce little cheese and a smattering by of tomatoes??? Service was slooow. At one point I watched my waiter leave for a while. Have eaten at other locations and liked. Not here.

Very disappointed about the size, cheese and topping quantity and quality of the pizza. Frozen pizza from supermarket can be better (and definitely cheaper).

Give it a miss if your a couple it’s a kids club . Noisy kids running everywhere. Foods ok same as every pizza express .

We often go there for a pizza, and suddenly the gluten-free pizza was rock hard, like a thin sheet of cardboard. Couldn't cut it. The manager went to the kitchen to cut it. He said they'd changed it recently. You can buy a great "Pizza Express" gluten-free pizza at Tesco's which is soft and tastes like a normal pizza. So what's going on?

Waited in line to be served,Manager walked by several times ignoring us.In the end a nice waitress took pity on us but restaurant full.

Enjoyed my meal, i'm quite fussy but they were keen to swap things around on the item i ordered (I have done this at every pizza express I eat at and never had a problem). Was a little disappointed that they didn't have the profiteroles that evening (highly recommend them if you've not tried them), but I suppose it saved me from adding the calories ;)

Came here when staying at Legoland resort as we didn't fancy the food there (had booked a table a few days before).

Had lovely pizza here, service was excellent despite it being very busy as our waiter was super efficient and really personable too. The restaurant can get noisy.

Appreciate that it was new year and staff are tired. Everyone looked uninterested, saw guests as an inconvenience. Service very slow, pizzas with burn spots, asked 3 times for the bill! Many staff standing by the kitchen counter!step up and use the location to your full advantage. The rubbish and staff constantly in and out the front entrance with rubbish and staff smoking visits. Toilets need a good steam clean and sealant too!
