Pizza Express in Reading

The order initially scheduled for 7:40, was delivered at 8:30, though, being fair, I was kept informed of a delay through the app. The pizza arrived cold, and the order missed the dessert. Not the best experience.

The order was missing “The Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Cake” that’s a whopping £9.45 (almost half the total I paid). Not like missing a small dip, etc. really disappointed.

The food is delicious. But someone keeps forgetting the garlic butter when I order the dough balls for delivery, and they really are nothing without the garlic butter. Much disappointment :(

Tonight I ate one of the most delicious pizzas in my life. I have allergy and the chefs in the waiter were extremely careful with this. Special thanks to Joel who took care of me and my family. Highly recommend this place!

Good service and tasty food especially the cannoli pasta but their chocolate cake is extremely expensive £9.45 for 1 slice. Not worth it at all when you can buy a whole cake from a supermarket less than that. It was nice but wouldn’t buy again

We had the most wonderful experience at Pizza Express in Reading tonight! Our waitron, Steph was absolutely incredible! She went the extra mile with us, was so attentive, and had a wonderful sense of humour. The food was so delicious and the whole team is so friendly! Food arrived early, I was delighted. Gave the driver a fiver to say thanks then opened the box. Looked liked he had cartwheeled here to deliver it. Doughballs warm... as for the tub of butter... well that was quarter tub. 1st experience, Never again.

I like to visit this place frequently and am usually very satisfied. Today, I wasn't that satisfied with 'Nduja Calzone (btw. I had it around two weeks ago, and it was excellent at that time); on the other hand, the pizza and dessert were good (and the side was as well).

I love this Pizza Express! Great location, food is always tasty and the pizzas come out soooo quickly. Staff is also nice, Marco and Maria in particular and very competent and helpful. I will continue coming here often

Pizza and pasta were amazing. It was a long time that I have not had such a delicious and creamy pasta! Also very nice and polite staff, highly recommend it!

This afternoon I visited Pizza Express in Reading and I was absolutely delighted with the service I received. Nothing was too much trouble. Beth helped me with updating my app and explained how to use it properly. Everything was cooked to perfection. Nothing was too much trouble. As a solo diner I was incredibly impressed with all the staff. The staff should be congratulated for their polite,helpful service. I shall definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

A nice place with good food and decent atmosphere. Weekends are busy and would likely require a reservation. The app has lots of freebies which is well worth doing and you can hook up the apps together by 'checking in' on the same table to use multiple vouchers between the guests. Cleanliness could be a little better with greasy smudges on the bench and mirror, and slight water marks on the glass. However it's more of an improvement point rather than it's dirty. Would visit again.

Had a nice meal here, great server, she noticed I'd been given, and was tucking into, the wrong order before I did and had it remade and sorted in minutes. Really good service all evening.

Turned up bit after 11:30am sat 6/4 and waited some time, could hear staff in back but nobody turned up to front to seat us so gave up and went across to Wagamamas

Cold food despite fast delivery. ‘Double American/ double pepperoni’ was non existent. Had exactly the same amount as the standard American/pepperoni.

Hi we meaning my daughter and i came to eat and was supposed to of had cannelloni I was surprised that there was no spinach in my cannelloni just some sort of sauce which had now flavor apart from it tasted of cream i made a comment about this and was told there was no cream in there at all but there was also no spinach on leaving the restaurant my daughter and i felt really sick i had to get to a public toilet and i was sick no flavor added to disappointment as well and the price certainly made a dent as well Sorry to be the barer of bad news

Terrible. Food was stone cold when arrived

6 of us ate at the Oracle for my birthday yesterday, 5th March. Our waitress AND the manager could not have been nicer or more patient with us. Some of us had the App', some didn't, some of us wanted to use offers, some of us didn't, some of us wanted to redeem rewards some of us didn't etc. and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The manager was SUPER patient and helped us all individually get the best value offers (no means feat in itself) which saved us all a lot of money, the food was fab and all six of us agreed we were helped and looked after SO well it really made a difference to our evening. A great big THANK YOU for being so patient with us and to the whole team there, we had a great evening there thanks to your professionalism and helpfulness 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻

always so nice to indulge in your pizza cravings...,,.. the staff was so helpful and nice even if it was very busy day..,.. there were a lot of vegan pizza options, and the ones we got were so juicy and oily that our hands could barely hold the slices and we kept slipping down the chairs...,,. nonetheless, i love you pizza express

in the title lies a compliment - a big one and apparently very difficult to achieve. We arrived at appx 13.40 on Saturday afternoon and the place was packed, deservedly so. Whether by luck or judgement here's an example of a restaurant where kitchen and waiting staff appeared to be working in perfect harmony. Compliments from me are very rare, so well done and hopefully management will take note and even a secret visit to learn and transfer what's being done so well, meanwhile reward those staff for what they are doing.

I came here with my girlfriend over the weekend. We were looked after by Steph, my girlfriend has various food allergies. Steph sorted us right out and putting my girlfriend at ease, who finds it hard to eat out and at most restaurants. Steph got us a custom order and advised that pizza express is a “nut free” environment. This is good information to know. We left a tip on the card machine, I hope that all of that goes to her she deserves it

Enjoyed the pizzas from there as usual. The Duo Romana was particularly good and the staff were very accommodating to my diary intolerance Thanks again Pizza express Reading !

Great pizzas over the years however, last few times I’ve been the pizza arrived burnt, chicken wings aren’t kosher anymore and new layout wasn’t necessary as the booths gave it a cool old school vibe. Still a decent place tho

Was nice service and nice food. Just shame I couldn’t have any more berry blast cocktail only had one 🥲 they had ran out. Food was made nicely and soft Starters of the lemon and herb chicken wings was nice

Lovely meal this evening annd fabulous customer service. Only let down on the menu was the kids spaghetti bolognese. Lack of flavour and hard pasta.

Good food, good portion size and not too expensive

Great lunch experience at this restaurant, have to say we were drawn in by the 33% discount on pizzas if you download their app (well worth doing). Scrumptious pizzas delivered very quickly. Our waitress T J Kemp was very helpful showing me how to work the app to get the 33% discount. T J was a real asset great customer relations smiley face made the whole experience enjoyable.

Pizza was soggy, we could not eat it

Welcomed quickly on entering the restaurant by a lovely smiley man. Seated quickly and menus brought to order. Madi was lovely and fast, taking our order, food and drinks arrived fast. But also we had time to sit back and breathe. Overall atmosphere lovely and relaxed.

Update for August 2023: I thought it only fair to update my review after my recent visit. Things have changed for the better. The place has been refurbished relatively recently and both the food and service were excellent. We were really pleased with our pizzas and the waiter could not have done more for us. Thanks! Original Review: Food was tasty but took way too long to come and service was abysmal. Service level very much dependent on who serves you. The waitresses were extremely rude and unattentive. When we asked for our table to be cleaned the waitress just stared at us. When we gave our order the waitress just tapped on her handheld device but did not acknowledge the order. Really poor service for the amount it costs, I hope management takes note.

The food was good as expected in any pizza express but it was the service that took it to the next level. The waiter was very attentive and made the meal better than I could have expected

We went to this place just before entering the Odeon Cinemas as we were heading to a movie. Knowing we only had 10mins and Pizza Express are usually late in serving Wes till took a chance. A lovely lady named Chaturi received us and we explained our situation. She greeted us warmly and showed us to the salad bar and by the time we finished our salads the hot, absolutely stunningly yummy pizza and garlic bread was served. It was as if someone had pre-ordered for us. The service was so quick it almost felt unbelievable. We made it to the movie intjme. Kids were happy and so were we. Had a lovely meal! Kudos to PE in Bracknell. 👍

Very bad experience here. Waiters were rude and the lady who served us was miserable. Food was cold and the service was terrible. Overall 0/10 would not recommend coming here.

The staff were great, but not enough of them. Food was fantastic. Amazing pizza, you can taste the wood smoke on the edges. Good piccolo menu for kids. The toilets weren't clean and a bit run down. No real atmosphere, but a lovely meal.

This order, fairly often for other orders sent alternative dessert with no telephone call to enquire on preference, other restaurants do. Order notes request to leave out an ingredient was shown with delivered item, thank you this doesn't always happen with other restaurants, much appreciated. Food was tasty, well cooked. Personally dislike the brownie however which usually is the alternative sent.

I had such a great time. It was very busy and we haven’t booked a table. They managed to accommodate us with no issue. The food was sublime. I also would like to praise the waiter, Joel, what a nice chap he is. He was very attentive to our order and it was very dedicated to serve our family and giving us some tips about the menu. I had a really lovely evening. I hadn’t been here in a while and I am so glad we chose to come here. I tried a new drink, meal and dessert which I hadn’t had before and they were all delicious. The staff were friendly and chatted to us about the food. Overall really good experience.

Waited over an hour for the delivery with no update other than "driver is at the restaurant". Decided to order delivery on another site after waiting and food arrived before this delivery. Food when it arrived was nice but overall not pleased at all.

Missing both seperate item salads, website not enabling a refund or credit. Pollo millanese chicken had the rocket leaves, tomato intentionally placed on top of the bread crumb chicken which doesn't make sense with bread crumb chicken that people order to be crispy (all items were recieved in organised manner, packaged) Other items cooked well, tasty. Order notes are not read by this restaurant, ie leave ingredient out request.

The pizza arrived smashed to one side of the box, which isn't a huge issue. My dessert choice was replaced without contacting me first with something I dislike. Hence the poor service rating.

Undercooked for everything. Chicken pollo crumb was pale not crisp, lasagne sheets undercooked, dough sticks flat, thin and pale. Just cooked enough to be edible, like lasagne was hot and did have some but less colour. Just not as enjoyed. Same order as usual, v disappointed today.

We went in with our Son 5 year old who even said why lady dont want to give us food .. Lady who serve us wasn't interested at all to serve or help us with anything. We had to call her few time for service . Overall very bad service .

Best pizza in my opinion, excellent service

They called it pizza express because you need to be fast when eating if you don't want to choke after 2 slices! It was literally chewing gum. The pizza is terrible, I gave it a try many times, in different locations, but the result is always the same: awful! The pizza "romana" is so thin that could be compared to a X-ray sheet. Have you ever been in Rome eating a Pizza?? It's thin, but crunchy, this has nothing to do with a pizza romana!. The classic one is slightly thicker, but still not edible. If you say the quality of the food is good, i can't imagine what you're used to have at home! I hardly think any italian person would love Pizza Express!

We had a table view of the pizza bases being made and enjoyed chatting to one of the team who was making them. Good range of pizzas including the Leggara range. The Pizza Express app gives you some of the best options.
