Very friendly and helpful staff. Explained different menu options for a family with different tastes

The team at Guildford are fantastic such a friendly welcome and the service and food are always consistently good amd with the rewards scheme makes it really good value for money too

They close at 11pm on a friday night. Walked in as a group of 2, the guy goes we have run out of dough. At 8:30 on a friday night hahahaha what a joke of a place 😂 There was a grand total of 7 people at the place with enough tables for a 100. Extremely disappointed!

The pizzeria was a find on a Friday evening after being rejected by other restaurants. The fact that it opens quite late is a nice advantage. As for pizzas, mine, a vegan gamberetti leggara, was delicious! Although surprised by the void in the middle, I was ultimately satisfied. My colleagues also enjoyed their pizzas, and the choice on the menu is vast. The service was fast and quality. I highly recommend !

Staff were very professional and friendly

Brilliant evening made better by live music Went for a family meal tonight and there was the usual great standard of food and drink. The waiting staff were attentive. A bonus as there was live music! The singer, Ruby London, was amazing! Great covers and enjoyable to listen to but not intrusive. Would go again to see this duo. Live music and pizza winning combination!

Great friendly service and delicious food.

We regularly go to pizza express as its normally super efficient and friendly, great for kids. Guildford branch was disappointing, staff on their phones, slow service and poor quality pizza.

Busy and noisy but plenty of good food. Service could have been a bit quicker.

Had margarita on classic base - base so thin! Felt like romana base -disappointed. Service good and value for money. Redeemed the pizza by adding garlic oil.

It was so busy in there and not enough staff. Tables, toilets and restaurant floor were dirty. Not impressed with coleslaw and polenta chips. Way overpriced for what they are.

Got a too good to go bag from them, it wasn't worth it.

My family and I went to Pizza Express for New Years Eve. The food was delicious but the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Caramello, was an absolute star. His sense of humour, care and attention made our night. He went above and beyond. He kept us entertained and gave us many laughs. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and Caramello made it extremely special. He is one of a kind AND DESERVES A BONUS! Thank you to all the staff for a great evening. We will definitely be back.

Brilliant service on boxing day from the team,so efficient and all food was brilliant, served quickly and all the staff were so friendly as well. We were a big table but the team looked after us so brilliantly. Highly recommend a visit and a big thank you to the team who did a great job.

I ordered a Fiorentina pizza and it was just gorgeous! The waitress was exceptionally helpful and advised my elderly friend after enquiring about her dietary requirements (she can't eat much and had a child size GF pizza) My friend was delighted with the suggestion and we both enjoyed the experience.

Lovely food, very decently priced and a fairly big pizza, very clam atmosphere and the staff were really lovely, it is really nice to hear the chef singing whilst he is cooking and 3 of the staff talking in Italian amongst themselves. We really enjoyed our meal and would love to return some time in the future.

Pretty disappointing as we generally feel PE is the best. But today's delivery fell very far short - chosen largely for its Gluten Free options for one of our party, but the GF Dough Balls were not delivered, instead we had 2 standard dough balls, and while we tried to sort this out with a phone call, the rest of our meal got cold and we were told we had to photograph the error and send it in - this is not service, it is prevarication! We WILL be going elsewhere, not so much because of the error, but beecause of the attitude and policy of the people we dealt with.

I'm not sure what happened to the express part. Will have a high threshold to return.

We are on a mission to try all the restaurants in Guildford working our way down the High St. Pizza Express wouldn’t normally be on our shortlist of restaurants to visit and I don’t know why it’s not! . We had such a lovely meal there and the service was excellent. An added bonus is the live singer. It is definitely on our list to go back to!

The staff here, particularly Monica and Carmelo are exceptional. They have their own inimitable style and are simply excellent. The food is reliable and tasty.

We had my daughter's 9th birthday party here and it worked so well. 18 children were each given a ball of dough and then shown how make their own pizza which, after being cooked, they each got to eat. It really worked out and was just so chilled for a kids party

I paid almost £6 and I got very very small portion. It was click & collect, just realized when I arrived home. Never again!!!!

Food was delicious and cozy atmosphere. It took quite a while for a waiter to ask our order.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food was the best we have ever experienced at a pizza express and the atmosphere was lively in the best way. But put all that aside the service was by far the best I have EVER experienced!! And having worked for the ivy myself I can certainly say that Gabi ( our waitress ) was amazing !! She was super quick for every element but more so her personality was kind, personable with just the right amount of chat! She was a joy and again the best waitress I’ve had! Fantastic

Super busy on Saturday night and just managed to get a table at 5.30pm before the queues got long. Staff were absolutely run off their feet but remained courteous and kind. Food as always was great for us and the kids.

Our waiter Caramello was a joy. Very amusing banter, and a genuine Italian guy serving in a pizza restaurant. He made us feel right at home. Great choice of food, my sloppy guiseppe was scrummy. My friend was over whelmed with the vegan menu. A little more pricy than expected but everything we had was 😋 😋

Unbelievably shocking. Waited 10 minutes at the podium to be seating while staff members just walked past me. When I was finally seated no one came to take my order. I tried to catch the attention of the waiting staff when I caught there eye they simply looked away and acted like they didn’t see me. After 20 minutes sat down I just walked out. I am a pizza express regular and I usually can’t fault them. Not sure I’ll go back after this experience

I’ve eaten in here a couple of times recently when away on business in Guildford. Superb service, better than any other Pizza Express I have eaten in.

Fab service from the moment we walked in. Our waitress was really helpful and friendly. The food was served really quickly and was delicious.

For a franchise it was ample, it had some made/contrived atmosphere with a visit. Sorry for the contrived comment, I am cynical sometimes unfairly.

Great venue now it’s refurbished, great service by the staff and both managers and the pizzas were delish!

I'd have to say I was little disappointed. We haven't visited a Pizza Express for some time so I decided on an old favourite - Sloppy Giuseppe. It was no where near the flavour I remember. Far less meat, far too much cheese and more expensive - not as tasty, but edible. Staff were very polite and efficient however. We were seated by the front window which lacks the restaurant atmosphere of the main area. Overall then...I'd say refuse a table at the front and choose your Pizza on recommendation.

We hadn't been to the Guildford Pizza Express for a while and was pleasantly surprised by the new design and atmosphere. The member of staff who greeted us Carmelo was very friendly and helpful which seems to be a rarity these days since the pandemic, so it was a joy to have superb food and wonderful service. I would strongly recommend a visit to this restaurant and will be returning soon

Best pizza I have had in the UK! My new favorite place when I am in Guilford. The crust is perfect and the toppings are fresh and delicious. The service is always quick and very friendly. I've ordered online for a carry out and stopped in to order in person and carry out. Both ways were quick, easy and had amazing hot pizza for me within 15 minutes. I will be back regularly.

Have been to several Pizza Express and this is by far one of the best in quality and super service also when they are superbusy: they will do their best to pull tables together to create a space and solve any possible problem. It is always pleasant and an affordable choice.

Food was good, and service very good. Leaving a bit of atmosphere as the seating area is quite bright and could do with a little more character.

What an excellent example of a fantastically run Pizza Express! We arrived with an assistance dog and instantly we were offered a seat in the garden or conservatory area, as there were some very loud children in the main seating area, so the noise didn’t upset the dog. The staff were very welcoming. They brought a bowl of water for the dog. Such a great welcome. The food was great. I always order the same thing at P.E. No need to look at the menu! Some servings are better than others. This was a 10/10. And so quickly brought to our table, considering how busy the restaurant was. Also, I judge a place by its toilets, and they were spotless (very important for me). I have no reservations in recommending this restaurant. Really couldn’t fault it!

Me & my partner came here for a Saturday night dinner. Our waiter absolutely made the experience for us. He was so funny through the night, and attentive. When I asked for more Caesar salad sauce, he came over with double the amount for me. He made our evening even more special, and deserves a pay rise! And the food was also delicious. Would definitely return!

We had a wonderful dinner at Pizza Express Guildford. Served by Sam and assisted by Daniele. We had a speedy turn around and they certainly ensured our food came as quickly as humanly possible. Thank you! Lovely experience.

We haven't been to Pizza Express Guildford for a while. It's still the same friendly place as we remembered! Brilliant food and lovely staff.

WARNING. Do NOT try to eat here before a big name/sold-out show is on at G-Live! Two of us booked for 6:30, for the 8pm Tom Allen. Ordered 2 drinks and 2 pizzas at 6:35. Drinks arrived at 6:38, brilliant! By then the place was 110% full. At 7:15 waitress explained our pizzas were 'in the oven' and so, 5 minutes away? Nope. At 7:30pm we asked for the bill for the 2 drinks. The really understanding manager apologised and threw our bill in the bin. We then went next door to the Co-op and bought 2 meal deals for £9 and ate them on the empty tables on the top floor of G-Live. Result!

Kept waiting and poor service. We arrived at around 5pm and it was busy but not full capacity. It took a while to get some drinks and order our starter and once we had eaten that it was another hour before our food was even put in the oven. During that hour we asked our waiter if he knew when our food would arrive and he said no but he would check. 20minutes later we had heard nothing so a member of our party approached him and asked if he had an update. Response was "no". No apologies, no "can I get anything else for you whilst you wait" "I'm sorry for the wait". To be honest I think they had forgotten us because it was only on the third time of asking that they said "it's being put in the oven now". Again, no apologies. We got our food an hour and half after sitting down and it wasn't even that hot. (I would expect that had it just been recently put in the oven it would be piping). Sadly we didn't have time to enjoy a pudding as we had a 2 year old that now should have been in bed, a 5 year old and a 10 year old with school the next morning. Having had excellent service and very quick order to table timings at previous branches on numerous occasions we were incredibly disappointed with both service and food.

The pizzas are very small, just 4 portions each. The flavor is okay but not worth it. Poor quality/price.

Visited with our six grandchildren and our two children and their partners. Food was lovely and served hot. Good choice of pizza and meals for the younger children. Great waiter.

Very poor experience. Highlights (lowlights). Greeted without a single word, just looked at and ushered to a table Peroni was warm Wine came with ice in without us asking. Ceaser salad came without egg despite ot saying so on the menu Very little sauce came with the ceaser salad Automatically added dough sticks at an extra cost without us ordering *Staff started playing their music from a speaker, which the whole restaurant could here, over the restaurant music* Extra main added to the bill Seemed like a general lack of care from the staff- there were 5 waiters for 8 covers, however people were not efficiently served, with many other customers waiting for long time for service. I don't expect the best from pizza express. I used to love it for a quick and cheap meal out, however at the prices they are now charging it is no longer worth it. 1 highlight Pollo Pesto and dough balls were as good as ever

Great pizza as always with friendly, good humoured staff who were attentive and made the experience more enjoyable even while they were clearly stressed as extremely busy. Thrilled to have the Honeycomb Cream Slice back (please make it permanent)!

After seeing a decline in gluten free options over the past year on the Pizza Express menu, it remained my go-to restaurant. Front of House Staff are always helpful and friendly. However, I was extremely disappointed that last night I had an instant allergic reaction to gluten. Reactions can last for a few days and trigger flare ups of other health conditions so it is very serious and I was informed that they cater for Coeliacs. Will not be going back.

Wish I'd gone for pizza! I tried the pollo pesto and it was very bland, practically all sauce with a few bits of chicken and some chewy pasta. It was lukewarm too! I wish I'd complained at the time but I was meeting up with a friend to celebrate some good news and didn't want to make a fuss. The chocolate fudge cake wasn't all that either...so disappointed. I won't go back in a hurry.

Not the best place for pizza. Ordered food wasn't hot but just warm enough. Ordered garlic bread for sides. They forgot to bring it. No one came up to make sure everything okay. we ask for the bill twice on 2 occasion.

Friendly and efficient staff and food is fine for the price. Like most restaurant chain, they need to refurbish their restaurant as it look dated and a bit run down.

Booked the table quick & easy as it was quite spontaneous via the website. When we arrived we didn’t have to wait. We were taken to our table & the staff were friendly & accommodating. Even when we had forgotten to use our free side as I am a club member. It was put through & came with everything else. We have always loved Pizza Express & are never unhappy after a visit. Exceptional customer service every time we visit, never kept waiting too long for food & quality of the food is always good too. Not to mention also the value for money! Will recommend to friends as usual.

Why is there no one answering the phone??! It is frustrating not be able to speak to a human being during working hours 😞 Especially when you want to book a table for a big party and you are going pillar to post on the AI answering service with no option to speak to an actual living person.
