We had a lovely family meal here on Saturday as we have done many times. The quality of the food is very good and the service and atmosphere was excellent. Thank you Stefan for looking after us so well.

One of my favourite pizzerias especially for the thin Romana bases. Quite pricey but as always I don't mind paying extra for food food. Consistent across restaurants and offer a decent loyalty scheme. Currently on silver level and we get free dough balls, hot drink and cold drink on every visit. For my birthday the scheme gave me a free pizza with around 3 weeks to take up that offer. Great service

Didn't realise this as we weren't offered it kids eat free we weren't even offered a kids menu thinking they didn't do one,my son is 10 I'm sure he's still a kid,the lasagne was lacking in meat I've had better frozen which I'm sure this was,we ended up spending £72 on 1 pizza,1 carbonara, 1 lasagne, 1 soft drink,3 deserts how fo people think this is good value.

Just been for a meal,have to say very over priced for what's on offer,had the lasagne very watery hardly had any meat no substance to it at all,never offered a kids menu,so presumably didn't have one,then googled it found out kids menu available instead of adults pizza and adults chocolate brownie a child's portion would be surfice,1 drink,1 pizza,1 lasagne, 1 carbanara 3 deserts £72 extortionate the lasagne was better at spoons can't see them making that from scratch in the time we got it,won't be going again any time soon,if food was exceptional I'd be ok with it,didn't complain as staff member was foreign and very sharp with us didn't want to cause a seen.also very cramped and noisey.id also like to say there's a sign outside saying kids eat free all summer what a joke

Asked for chilli oil, but got garlic oil, had a kids eat free offer which I informed them about at the start, but was added to the bill. They did remove it. Service was quick when we told then we had a theatre reservation to get to which was great.

Terrible food at over inflated prices!

Back again in June 2024: prices gone up, foods alright, but the way interior was, it can get really noisy. Basically, have to shout to be heard. Not enjoyable. We quickly finished our food and left. Previously: Good vibe, friendly service. Lots of pizza choices, tho not enough of other foods.

We are regular visitors to pizza express, but the food yesterday was exceptional. Pizzas were perfectly seasoned, had plenty of flavour and all 3 were cooked to perfection - so thanks to the team!

Decent location, but atmosphere was better in different restaurants

Have tried this pizza express venue and on each visit I have been very underwhelmed by the meals we had. BBQ burnt ends pizza arrived soggy and luke warm and had to be sent back. This happened on our previous visit when my prawn pizza also came cold and soggy for it to be taken away, clearly reheated and inedible which put me off the pizza here. This time I went for the bosco salad with chicken. Mushrooms were raw and cold and minimal chicken which I paid extra for. But lastly the sides…NOT worth what you are charging. £9 for a few pieces of breaded calamari that was cold, £7 for minuscule portion of halloumi bites & £6 for soggy tasteless polenta sticks. That salad is my favourite meal at your other locations and was very disappointed with how it was presented here. Calamari was knocked off the bill but female staff didn’t seem bothered at all when I brought it up and never bothered to check if we were happy with starters to replace it. Other male staff member very attentive and friendly. I’m not sure we will come back to this ilkley pizza express & go to the leeds venue or skipton in future

I visited Saturday night with my family, there were 4 of us in total. While it was busy when we got there they were able to seat the 4 of us easily. Our waitress, Aneta, was friendly, professional, and quick. Her interactions with my almost 4-year old son were fantastic. The waiter who brought our food over (bearded chap) was also professional and friendly. Our food was delivered quickly, was hot, and very tasty. The chocolate fondant I had for dessert was also delicious (I was tempted by the billionaire sundae but I was too full!) Overall it was a great dinner out with my family.

I used to be so happy with pizza express but our experience last Monday was just very disappointing! Went for lunch with friends and kids, the waitress was very rude, like she couldn’t be bothered, at the end of the meal we wanted to pay separately , she pretty much threw the bill at my friend and told her to work it out!!! I find that pizza express is very over priced for what it is, a small black coffee £4.25😳 apple juice £4.95!! And pizzas over £15!

I ordered lasagne. Hardly anything solid in it. Virtually just a bowl of sauce. Very disappointing.

The Ilkley Pizza Express restaurant is particularly awesome. It's a huge old station building with lots of character. Pizzas here are always absolutely delicious. It's where my wife and I come each month for a date. Love it.

Somewhat sterile reception on arriving not over friendly Thought the menu was ok but very pricey Food was ok and arrived promptly BUT what spoiled the meal was two of the waitresses were seen on a few occasions wiping their noses on the back of their hands !! Then serving food/drinks !! Ok if you HAVE to work if you have a virus ok to a degree but please practice proper hygiene ! Or management give them a job where they are clearing tables maybe not serving food ….. 3 days later we had dreadful colds 😡

Our pizzas appeared to have suffered shrinkflation. The Calzone was more like a veggie cornish pasty in size and they even forgot to put the cheese in. This was the second time they couldn't produce a decent pizza: I returned it the first visit and warned them the second visit. Pity since I visited several times a year but no more. Nice waiters cannot make up for a poor kitchen.

Annual trip for birthday celebrations, as always good food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. We're never disappointed. Thanks for another great evening

I often come here with a friend for lunch when we want to catch up with each other. We very much appreciate the calm atmosphere at that time of day, with no pressure to order at every stage. The staff are great !! ( Stephan looking after us today ). The wines are distinctive and we enjoy the food . When the weather is warm enough, the terrace is a great place to be especially as it’s south facing. I also eat here with family, the staff being delightful when attending to the younger children, who adore the food.

I was here today waited at the front to be seated 3 staff members was around noone not one spoke or greeted me no acknowledgement what so ever stood there for ten minutes or more then walked out I won't be returning iv been a customer for years such a shame and I know the lady saw me but ignored me which is terrible avoid update I did email and ring no-one got back to me about this incident.

Best pizza express bar none. Annetta is simply brilliant as our host, attentive and welcoming. The food is just great and the restaurant itself is well appointed and laid out.

We have been coming to Ilkley Pizza Express weekly for a long time and will be for many years to come. The food has never been in question but the team are the difference - one of a kind. Brilliant with adults and children alike.

Visited Saturday evening without a booking following a disappointing experience at Piccolino. We were able to get a table straight away which was great, as the restaurant seemed full. Food arrived quickly and was of great quality as it always is. Special mention for Francois, the waiter, who has always been very attentive and helpful on this and previous visits. Highly recommended.

We visited Pizza Express on our way home from a recent stay in Yorkshire , the waiter was welcoming and courteous, the food was certainly maintaining the Pizza Express reputation, but there was one exception , the dough balls were the Best that we have ever eaten at a Pizza Express . I would certainly recommend P E Ilkley to people .

We stopped here for a dinner whilst we waited for our train. We ordered a few items off of the menu. We had honey dough balls, chicken wings, calamari. We had two pizzas, carbonara, chicken nugget things, and a cheesecake. The dough balls were really good. The calamari was also good, and the chicken wings were mediocre. However, it's all steeply down hill from here. One pizza was absolutely dripping with grease. It was, by far, the greasiest pizzas I've ever experienced. Every bite, oil just gushed out of the pizza onto the table, plate and your hands. Pools of grease settled on top, soaking into the thin dough, all covered by an absolute mountain of salad they put on top. The second pizza barely had any cheese on it at all. It also came out luke warm. The carbonara actually had burnt bits of pasta at the bottom of the bowl. It was black; charred. The chicken nuggets, again, just soaked in oil. You could literally squeeze the oil out of the chicken and batter. The cheesecake was almost £8, and it was nothing more than finger food; it was about as small as an hors d'oeuvres. I couldn't help but laugh when it came out, because that portion size was absolutely baffling for the price. The server, Josh (I think) what an absolute gentleman. He really was the highlight of the evening for us; very polite and very friendly with a few jokes. I wouldn't go back.

Every time l have been to Pizza Express in Ilkley. The staff are always friendly and polite. Food is lovely and you are always left feeling full and happy. It's a nice atmosphere to go to with friends to catch up and with the family for a lovely, chilled and relaxed experience and no washing up. 😊

Food was excellent staff very nice atmosphere only 4 because it was quiet being a Thursday dinner time. But have been many times.

Ilkley is such a lovely restaurant, staff are always so friendly and welcoming, especially Tina who always goes above and beyond every time we visit, the food is always top notch, we especially love the vegan options. We love pizza express ilkley.

Absolutely Rotten. Nice location, friendly staff. Food was nice (at the time). Got home and I had one of the worst episodes of food poisoning in recent times. It was a nice day outside and had lots to do. Instead I've crouched down on the floor of my living room shaking from the energy that has been sapped from me. I bitterly regret going here. They can mark my words, I'm not coming back not now, not ever. I'll relay this story on to anyone that asks. Word of advice; keep your receipt. If I had done I would have gone back to ask for a refund.

I'm sorry but it's just an overpriced, ordinary pizza. Not worth the 15 GBP. To little toppings and mostly dough and cheese. Service was okay.

Good food and service. We were a group of 10 and everything arrived promptly and well cooked. If you arrive after 6pm, the nearby street parking is free.

Great location, food and service.

Disappointed with the Gluten free option, which was half the size of my husbands pizza, but the same price. That also means half the topping. I felt like I had a child's meal and I felt ripped off. Other eateries offer a full size meal at the same price for their gluten free option. Also, had to wait for the bill as staff too busy talking, and we were the only customers, which made "have you booked" funny when we walked in, as the place was empty. I won't be going again

Food is always lovely and fresh, however the tables are sizes of a box of tick tacks, I told the server that all the food will not fit on my table as I wanted my starters to come with my mains, then tells me the dough balls will be sent first as the pizza comes shortly after, even tho I just told him I want it all coming at once, the dough balls arrived 10 mins before my mains came, if you want to eat your food like 2 sardines squished in a tin then this is the place to be, the table next to us was paying there bill, while the waiter was bending over with the card machine while his backside was hovering over my partners pizza due to the tables being so crammed and small, I find this absolutely disgusting specially In the hospitality sector, we will not be returning, shame as the food is spot on.

Never a bad meal here, either eating in or taking away. Special about out to Tina & Maria who are so polite and helpful, running the show like a dream team. The food is always delicious and because I was running another errand, they delayed the food for me so it was extra hot when I came to collect. Brilliant service, good value, and extremely tasty.

Always love a family pizza express dinner. Never disappointed and the waiters and waitresses are always so nice. The food is pizzas (duh) but they also do other things like pene pasta.

Dreadful service! Ate in & service wasn’t the best. Ordered food to takeaway. Checked twice they would gov’s correct item but got home & it was incorrect. Called & manager was quite rude. Offered me a refund but I haven’t received it

We booked a table for four & had a great meal. We all chose Pizza, our server Francois was brilliant advising us on the different types of toppings & bases, & recommended a crisp pinot grigio to accompany the meal. Excellent service & lively atmosphere, we will certainly return.

Wonderful spot, chosen by my brother in law as a surprise for my inlaws. The look on my mother in law's face was worth a million dollars. All of us had travelled from around the country to be there. Great food, obviously great company.

The change to the recipe by introducing raw onion and raw green pepper ruined our favourite. The base also not as usual The pizza tasted as if it was precooked and warmed on demand No intention of ever returning there

Came to this restaurant for lunch having been to the theatre across the road, we hadn’t booked but the server seated us straight away, he was really friendly and chatty and great with our daughter. The food came without much of a wait and was very authentic and really tasty. Nice portion sizes for children too another waiter brought our daughter some extra tomato base sauce to dip her pizza into and the staff came to check all our meals were alright. Our first time at this chain so it was a really nice experience would definitely go again.

I went in for a light lunch, the staff were really inviting and friendly. It's always a pleasent experience and the food is always amazing.

I really like this place. Been used for years as a place for family celebrations. It's a really nicely done out and maintained place, the staff have always been super friendly and helpful, and the food is always a consistent standard too. It's not far from the central car park in Ilkley, and right outside the main train station and bus stops so a great location. It's in a good spot for a stroll around the shops, down to the river, or up the massive hill to the cow and calf rocks depending on how much of what you've just eaten you want to burn off.

Came here late last night after travelling up for a weekend away. We were looking around for somewhere that could cater for my partner as she is a coeliac. We have been to pizza express before but had mediocre experiences in others. As this was the only option open at 8pm last night that could cater we went there. We checked online on the way there and it said we could get 50% off pizzas if we signed up to the app. So that's what we did. The app turned out to really make this experience great. When we were seated they took a little while to take orders, they seemed a little too focused on cleaning tables rather than serving waiting customers, which was a little irritating. But nonetheless when we did have our order taken it was a pleasent experience. The French gentleman who served us helped us understand the app and how we could all get 50% off our pizzas. He was great, very good service from him. Unfortunately didn't catch his name. Me and my partner both had gluten free pizzas, with some gluten free dough balls which come free on your first visit. All the food was great, all the gluten free food tasted great and not the stereotypical cardboard. I would strongly advise any coeliacs or gluten intolerant people to come here. Would like to say also the app was really great. It allowed us all to check into the same table and all use our offers as and when we wanted. You can assign your offer with your selected meal on the bill. You can see an up to date bill cost so no surprises when you go to pay the bill. I think it was really great and made the experience more enjoyable! And on top of all of this, the location is in a beautiful small town. I would highly recommend to visit this branch of pizza express.

Just had dinner tonight with wife and two children, our server Francois was brilliant, cheery, warming and made it a lovely night, can’t underestimate his level of service! food was good, shame the manager looked so grumpy, her face always looks like she resents customers, a smile goes a long way. Five stars though mostly because of Francois and compared to other pizza express restaurants in the area it is much better.

A very nice chic place to have a pizza restaurant. I was impressed as soon as I walked in. As you can expect from pizza express food is fresh. Great starters The prawns were amazing Wow that were that good The pizzas I really enjoyed them Real flavour to them and I really do think they taste so much better than pizza hut. The service was outstanding They came to the table asking is everything alright , do you need anything. I found the desserts to be pleasant but a better selection would be great. I will definitely come back here again. Highly recommended 👌

We had a table booked for 2 here on a Saturday evening. We were greetied at the door and taken to a table inmediately. A server came to take our drinks and food order shortly after and was very pleasant. The restaurant had a great buzz about it. And ecen though it got pretty busy whilst we were there the staff still remained calm and very friendly. I would recommend this place to abyone

Staff so helpful and welcoming at 10.30pm on a Saturday night. Had the place to our selves. One Leggers pizza, one large Caesar/ chicken salad us a glass of house red for £25 ish. Very pleased. Well done guys!!

Everytime we visit Ilkley we eat here at Pizza Express, we have been coming since 2019 and even through lockdown when we were able and it still remains my favourite Pizza Express in the UK. Its a great Setting, service good, very friendly staff and Francois always helpful and friendly to chat to, much appreciated his assistance with the new APP scheme they have going as that was all new. The Pizzas are great we always have the same, why change when its so good, so the Romana Pizza, thin and crispy, that stone fire flame look and flavour, I have Pollo Forza and my husband the Diavolo with all the chilli's, Perfectly delicious, fills you up every time, pushing the last bit in - as far too tasty to leave. It might sound obsessive but when we eat all healthy stuff in 'normal routine life' away on holiday its a treat each day, so we don't just eat there one night, we eat there every night, you just cant get too much of a good thing - and it really is Excellent.

Used to go here alot say five years ago and you used to be able to use discount vouchers on your phone. For me then and now you needed these vouchers as it's very expensive. You can only get a voucher now for free dough balls. I'm sorry as much as we like Pizza Express we won't be going again as it's just too expensive. 👎

Everytime we go to pizza express in Ilkley it is amazing, the staff are really friendly and the fact i can use my tesco clubcard vouchers is good too.

Arrived Monday lunchtime with 4 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby (2 pushchairs) and Tina was amazing - she welcomes us brilliantly and gave us a tucked away space with room for all of our stuff! The meals were delicious and Tina was unfailingly cheerful and helpful, smiling throughout. An absolutely pleasurable visit, thank you!

Always a warm welcome when returning. The waitor still remembering the food we always order, even to the wine !!! In these difficult times - the whole restaurant has socialy distance tables etc .We will be visiting very soon .

Food was very tasty and service wasn't too slow. The atmosphere of the restaurant had a nice buzz. We did have to wait about 10 minutes to get shown to our pre-booked table but I understand that it was very busy at that point. I used a free dessert voucher that I had recieved by email from pizza express so we got both our desserts for free!
