Pizza Choice in York

Working in York and needed quick food at end of a long day. Friendly welcome and helpful advice on the vast selection available. Got Chicken Shish Kebab. Not disappointed, one of the best I have ever had.

Honestly 10/10. Staying in york in a hotel so decided to try and find a local pizza takeaway. Went in for the first time and it looked very professional and clean. Ordered 2 Pizzas and chips, they came back with 3 Pizzas and when I questioned it his response was “Yes free pizza for you!” I was very happy, but it just gets better when I take it back to the hotel and eat it, Honestly one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. Not sure on the consistency since it was my first time but honestly will go again! 10/10 for me.

Had a couple of poor orders from here so not been in 6-12 months. Ordered tonight to give another go, it's not improved. Poor quality toppings, hardly any cheese, like chewing cardboard. Only reason I gave the food 3 stars was because it was on time and edible, nothing good about it though. Sort it out Pizza Choice!!!

Ordered on foodhub, they accepted, took the money out of my account and then rejected saying “too far to deliver”. It was a 7 minutes drive and 1.6 miles away. Reduce your radius of delivery if you can’t be bothered to deliver 7 minutes away. It’ll take me a week to get the refund. Never again from this scam of a restaurant.

Really surprised by these rough reviews, great place to pop in for some easy food, friendly staff every time I’ve been, really enjoyed the food

Nice large chips and cheese wraps, lots of sauce. Tasty cheesy garlic bread. Haven't tried pizza yet.

I have just paid for a chicken ceasar salad. Deep fried chicken with lettuce and raw carrot. Really ? Supposed to be the healthy option. I don't think I can say any more. I'm shocked.

We stayed in York a couple of nights and ordered a few pizzas for delivery. No problem with the delivery but the pizzas were rather bland. I don't think any of the three we ordered got completely eaten. The bonus garlic bread was sadly, not great either. Hope it was just one of those nights.

One of the best pizzas i have ever had, and thats the truth. Tastey hot and base was perfect soft enough to taste not too doughy or thick, garlic mushrooms spot on. And wife say chicken kebab was gorgeous. Top marks to staff keep the hard work up, it tastes very nice

Food was cold, I ordered carbonara which tasted just like a ready meal and the ribs were dry and most of the rib was fatty.we didn’t receive a refund or even an apology I will not be eating from this place again

We using them so many times. If we Cao it all person orders in the house we over than 200 orders and maybe 2-3 times was when the food wasn’t on standard. Everyone can do mistake specially busy times so they deserve 5*

I tried to call to see where my order was and didn’t get through the first few times, then when somebody answered I was told they could not hear me and hung up the phone. Then they unplugged the phone. So far still no sign of food.

We were served a doner kebab& the meat was totally cold & disgusting. Admittedly it was late eve, but absolutely no effort put in. On balance, the salad was crisp & fresh but £7 each?! Wear a mask next time at least!

Used just eat to order a spaghetti carbonara and chips and gravy. The carbonara came but instead of chips and gravy I was given a kebab?

Been using the takeaway for years and never had an issue. Always great food. However, bit into my meal and discovered a fingernail in the cheesy chips that was horrifying. Not something you’d ever expect and extremely unhygienic. Called and was effectively laughed at and denied. I wouldn’t put my own fingernail in my food. Terrible service and sadly will not be ordering from here again.

I had the paddy burger here and we'll always review food on freshness, size , flavour and customer service. The burger was good with fresh salad , the flavour was standard for chicken burger, beef burger and doner, they forgot to give me my can but were really quick on bringing me 2 x cans to the place I was staying insteadof the 1 x can that I purchased... thank you thumbs-up for efficiency and after service guys.

Really disappointed, ordered on just eat and our takeaway hasn't turned, no one answered phones when ringing them.

I placed the order, money came out of my account, two hours have passed and the food still hasn't been delivered. I tried to call them but they do not answer and seem to have unplugged the phone. Just wanted an update. I don't know if this is some kind of scam but they have quite literally taken my money and won't even pick up the phone. Frustrating is an understatement as we don't know if we should order from elsewhere or if the delivery is ever going to arrive. Dont want to pay for two lots of takeaways. Definitely wont be getting a penny from me again

First time here. Pizza was beautiful

Took order through just eat, money left my account. Order was confirmed by app and was told 40-60 mins. Food just didn’t turn up and no answer on the phone. It ended up getting unplugged as I rang a few times on bounce then it was engaged for the next 20 mins until I got fed up of trying. Very bad service will never use again everyone has problems but to be sat here two hours after my order with no communication at all with Pizza choice that’s just shocking

A busy day in York where if you didn't have a reservation anywhere you didn't eat!! Pizza Choice came to our rescue, delivering to our hotel, very timely, very hot and tasty food. Great service, even came with a smile. Thank you.

Best pizza in york, they dont over cook it, they load the toppings, always fast, always hot, I use them 3 times a week because they are awsome.

Not only was my order late my food is freezing. Then i try to call them and they dont pick up the phone ive rang over 20 times. Im now having to put my pizza in oven to warm up. Absolutely shocking. First time ive orderd. Will never be ordering agen. And also the delivery driver coming to my door with a lite cigarette in his mouth. Very unprofessional customer service

Ordered three pizzas for delivery last night, delivery was supposed to take 35 minutes. It ended up taking over an hour. I spent about 20 minutes trying to call to find out what was going on and every call was ignored. I started to wonder if there had been a mix up at just eat and was about to order from somewhere else when the pizza arrived. Not good enough.

Ordered through just eat and when we called and stated out order was missing they hung up with no explanation. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM

Was surprised order came well within the stated time, then disappointed bcos they'd missed part of the order. 15 minutes to get through to say and simply said sorry we'll give free next time but that didn't solve the problem with the missing items for this time. When questioned he hung up!! I advise you to unpack your order whilst driver still there!!

only gave it one star as i cant give zero ordered the large kebab - meat under cooked chilli sauce tasteless pitta raw and at best a child's portion avoid

Me and partner tried food from here doner kebab for myself well what can I say its normally little treat night for my pet dog aswel my bits donner left for him the saying wouldnt even feed a dog it! Has come true tonight, completely vile feeling very sick from it and poor dog wondering why no little treat for him !! for the dogs interests gone in straight in bin

We went out early for a few drinks and got carried away so didn't get chance to eat. Popped in on way back to hotel and grabbed a doner and a doner pizza to take away, both were absolutely first class. Staff were pleasant enough you never get anyone speaking clear English but what do you expect it's a kebab house. Can't recommend enough.

I went in here and ordered a tomato garlic bread which cost £4.50 on a Saturday evening/Sunday morning at around quarter to one. I was going to pay by card but was told by the lady that served me that the minimum Spend for card payment was £5 so ended up paying by cash. That would have been all well and good but the next customer who walked in after me ordered chips and gravy which cost less than £3 and was allowed to pay by card without question. I find it extremely disrespectful that they treat different customers differently to each other. It is completely out of order that I was refused the option to pay by card when someone else who spent less than I did was allowed to do so without question. The garlic bread when I got it was much of a muchness, nothing to write home about but wasn’t terrible either.

Top notch food! The 'Viking Boats' and garlic bread are fantastic. Love this place.

Orders food from this take away about an hour and a half ago from just eat, they didnt deliver the food tried to call the takeaway 16 times and not once did they answer the phone and they have now changed the status of my order to delivered so not only do they not deliver their food or answer their phones but they also steal money DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE

Propper Grim Greasy Kebab - Knocked me Sick, Avoid this place.

Decent pizzas. Chips and cheese good. Now this info is for the lovers of the classic kebab shop warm chilli sauce. Theirs is cold and is closer to tomato relish. Zero chillis. Non-existent. A myth.

Chicken strips, chips and sweet chilli sauce plus yoghurt. Perfect 👌

Just had food from here and It isn't the greatest food wont be ordering from there again. Also a tip the chilli sauce is ment to be hot way to many tomatoes in it.

Would not recommend at all food was 30 min late after calling to see were it was driver was very rude on arrival as he went to the rong gate food was not good at all parmesan was dry expensive not worth it chicken non of use could eat it and pizza burnt never order again

Absolutely disgusting. I've just had the phone put down on me from this place as I rang to say some items was missing. He told me I was wrong and I read out to him what his menu said and he mouthed at me and put the phone down. Absolutely disgusting behaviour

Ordered from you this evening and received my order early. Good food but didn’t receive my drink that I paid for with my order. I rang them up to complain and they said the driver had finished his shift so they would deliver 2 to us tomorrow morning. I won’t be in, I have work! Very disappointed, won’t be ordering from them again.

I was told they have no delivery service which was a blatant lie as the driver was there while we were waiting. The man on the phone was rude and laughed at me saying I had ordered the wrong thing and he did not give me chance to speak or explain. the description on the board is clearly wrong as below screenshot from menu. We have got take away from here quite a few times over the last couple years , always get the same .. tonight they send us a chicken parma /schnitzel.. instead of a childs pepperoni pizza , rings back to be shouted at saying its just the sauce , that im mistaken ... 50 mins later still waiting and was shouted at on the phone saying they were busy... a bit miffed really as we never conplain

Pizza was good, was staying at holiday in and did not have cash, the delivery driver went the extra mile to help me and took me to a cash point.

My usual stop for late night food when travelling to the city. Convenient location on my way to my normal hotel and always friendly, fast and efficient service. My favourites are the Pide “Viking Boats” with a garlic base. Orders can be made via JustEat.

Usually nice food...sometimes the kebab meat is shrivelled up and dry, sometimes nice and juicey😕 , they sometimes forget to bring salad and sauces ....they forget to add the extras you've asked for on pizza in general...they FORGET!!

My food was cold I had to tell them 4 times for the extra cheese and their wasn’t any still. my burger was burnt and pink and the chips were soggy I don’t recommend this place very poor

No food after 40 minutes. Rang to enquire where it was, oh they've turned the order machine off because the website wasn't working... I told them the website was up and running and accepting orders and taking payments. Nothing offered to try and keep my custom. Order cancelled.

wouldn’t recommend this place at all. we never ate any of it, we tried it but it just went straight into the bin.

Had the mixed grill (£10.00): Doner, chicken shish, lamb shish, salad, chips. Salad separately served, same for yoghurt sauce (fresh and tasty) and chilli sauce (bit bland). Doner meat not spicy enough, same for chicken and lamb. Could have gone for house special (feeds 2!) for a pound more. Place looks a bit tired and could do with a lick of paint but straightforward, friendly enough. Looks like a drop-in for the student crowd, stumbling back from a night out. Summary: plenty of it, good price, fresh and tasty .... just a bit bland.

Delivery was late. Delivery driver didnt have enough change to give me and didnt care either. Food was cold, presumably because it was late. The pizza box had been crammed into the delivery bag and was damaged meaning my pizza was mangled. Will go somewhere else next time.

Our order was missing a salad. Tried to ring the take away 3 times but no answer!! Wouldn’t have been bothered if it was just one of the side salads but we’d ordered it an paid £3.90 for it!!!

After waiting 60 minutes till the arranged delivery time the food had still not arrived! Rang the restaurant about 5 times and no answer. The food eventually turned up 45 minutes later. Cold. So the takeaway finally turned up after a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes. No apology from the delivery driver and he also for got give is our drinks so had to come back again.

Would not bother. No sauce with Donna pizza. Extra delivery charge that not told about. Cold and burnt food.

I spoke to the takeaway and they informed me the food was on route. They apologise and thanked us for our patience our food will be with use shortly. 1min later it arrived. Patience is a virtue I have not quite mastered yet. The food however was worth the wait.
