Absolutely fantastic been here a few times and the food has always been quickly served and tasting fantastic, would definitely recommend

Came in late on a Monday after a late drive and got a chicken shawarma and chip. Great taste and service, will be back

The doorbell never rang, the food was left on the front step which is unacceptable.

Perfect delivery time, but I did click traditional base for my pizza and I feel like I was given the spicy one, so knocked some stars off for that :(

Excellent quality food at a good price

out of 2 burgers 1 had far to much sauce, had to rebuild and wipe sauce from side and bottom of bun, the other had no ketchup despite requesting it, but tasted nice. The chips were disappointing mostly the crispy edge ones. the salad in the burger was really nice! would eat a bowl by itself. we had a pizza that everyone seemed to enjoy. The man who diliverd was the friendliest guy on the the planet. Would order again but would check food before accepting. Have ordered in past with no complaints

This is a KEBAB SHOP. people in the reviews ordering rogue meals are off base. The mixed doner kebab is always excellent and the service is always friendly. I don’t know what you expect from this place other than that. I love it!! There’s nowhere else this end of town that’s open late and reliably yummy. Thank you guys xxx

The food was great but we ordered two shawarmas and a pizza and 1shawarma didnt come with the shawarma bread but over-all it was great

This the worst kerbab I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few it was dry tuff and absolutely disgusting no taste had to throw away and not the cheapest kerbab please people go elsewhere

Top notch food as always. Chicken parmesan, wedges, kebab, burgers, chips always spot on. They always read the notes section. Fast delivery and lovely driver :)

This place used to be brilliant but has really gone downhill. Waited an hour for a pizza to then get an email saying that the restaurant had cancelled the order and I would get a refund in 5-7 days. I rang to get a very abrupt man who claimed to have never received the order. He told me he would call me back after he looked into it which he did after 20 mins. Again very abrupt but had magically found my order and was i advise that he would "send it out and I could pay for it next time I ordered"!!! No apologies or acknowledgement that they had messed up the order. I asked him to just forget it as I would not be reordering in the future and would find somewhere else to get my food from. This is after other problems with the last 3/4 orders that we have let slide. We have ordered from them very regularly for ages including multiple party orders of £50-100. Really sad to see what was a brilliant takeaway fall so far.

Tried this place two years ago and had a horrid experience. Thought I'd give it a second chance and I didn't regret it! Pizza was full of flavour and they were generous with both the chips and cheese. Very happy :)

My only complaint is the delivery man was rude. I left instructions to ring me on arrival which he ignored and then he rudely told me off after he ignored those instructions and repeatedly rang my neighbours doorbell which obviously I didn't answer as it's not mine and I can't hear it, hence the request for him to ring.

Ordered the "New Chicken Shawarma", and the portion was hefty. A full tray of meat with a pitta, salad and dip and all was excellent. Chicken was lean and pleasant to eat, but mixing it in to make your kebab is so much better. I'll be ordering again.

Rang to ask where my order was 10 minutes after the latest estimated delivery time only to be told that the driver said my house number doesn't exist and he's on his way back. I could of had a phone call to ask instead the food came back from the shop and was cold on arrival wasn't really happy

Pizza was disgusting, near inedible, cheesy chips were more like cheese with a small side of chips, were disgusting. Will never order from here again

Istanbul Grill has been my go-to for years, since I was in my late teens. If you want a takeaway made with care, passion, and quality then this is the place for you. One of the best in York, if not the best

Ordered 4 kebabs for a family treat, won’t make that mistake again. I had the shish mixed kebab & some fries, the lamb shish was just lumps of flavourless gristle which was so tough I couldn’t actually chew through it, the salad was just a bit of onion & smaller amount of lettuce. The doner meat, though plentiful, was a very odd beige colour, exceptionally salty and dripping in grease. It was all drenched in yoghurt sauce & there was a cold hard unsliced cheap supermarket style pitta thrown in a separate bag to accompany it. Husband had a donner kebab & fries & daughters had dinner meat & chips with a pitta each. The chips, again were plentiful, but were chewy & tasted like they’d been reheated. All of us ate less than half, and only that much because we were starving. I wouldn’t even give the pile of remaining meat to our dogs. Emphasis seems to be on quantity over quality here so probably ok if you’re drunk/a student, but if you’re looking for something vaguely appetising of decent quality look elsewhere.

Delivery was a 20 mins late, but that’s because the races were on in York which makes traffic very heavy. Food was still hot.

Beställde en Doner 30min före stängning och får den efter 10min. Kallt kött och lite sallad. Fick äta den över en soptunna utanför för att de skulle stänga 20min före utsatt tid... Aldrig igen.

This place Should Not Offer Chicken Parmesan as with Tomato is Just Wrong, They’d never even heard of a London Donner Pizza and the portions weren’t very good, Big Enough Pizzas but Chips & Donner Portion Was Shocking, The Dough Was Pre-made I’m Positive as it didn’t take them long to have it in the pizza oven and the supposed Garlic Sauce was Abysmal baring it mind it could Take 1 Minute Maximum to make a half decent Garlic Sauce

Went on just eat to order and they waited 10 minuets then to cancel on me and when I rang the shop they said they don't want to deliver to me because I'm too far out and they have to many orders nearby.. what a joke... why advertise delivery when you can't...

Lamb chops with bread is awesome .

Used to be ok but definitely gone down the hill. Donner meat was a horrible colour , tasted extremely salty and felt like it has been reheated from the day before. Was a regular customer as is my family , definitely must have changed hands . They used to send out a free garlic bread tomato with a substantial order but they don’t bother . Won’t be going again and neither will my family or friends

Walked in for our tea pizza and a chicken and donner kebab, we are quite regularly always been satisfied but tonight wed 21 June 03 don’t know why but the pizza was awfull and I couldn’t eat the kebab the chicken was rubbery,and Donna meat was full of grease and horrible .. unfortunately at over £20 to go in the bin we won’t be coming back

Over the period of 2021 to 2023 I've had a variety of dishes, from kebabs, pizzas to chicken parmos.... All absolutely delicious.

Horrendously rude incompetent staff. Ordered from deliveroo as we were quite hungry when we arrived in York.. Contacted the takeaway after 1 hour of waiting.. usual case of we tried calling you, we tried to deliver, you didn’t answer your phone. Obviously phone off silent, in signal. They asked for our number? Despite having called to say they couldn’t deliver. Got told not to order again. Food cold. £40 down the drain and called for an alternative… please don’t take the risk

Chicken is dry , but other than that it's a winner let me tell you !

Popped in for a take out Donna kebab . £7.50 , it was huge . Asked for it to be wrapped/ packaged separately ( I had an half hour walk home ) no problem .. Great value , definitely will go again and try other items on the menu.

I don't get why there so many bad reviews for this place. The food was really nice, spot on, even down the chips were really nice. Good customer service, they even brought the food to my car.

Best kebab ever! Full of fresh cooked chicken and salad. Great onion rings, coleslaw, chips and garlic mushrooms. Not greasy and prepared whilst we waited! Such a shame we live 2.5 hours away! Thank you!

Excellent takeaway on the Fulford Road south of the city. Great value and the food is always good. The chicken parmesan with jalapeños is a banger

One of the best kabab and pizza restaurant in York Reasonably priced and always happy to help. My best suggestion is the Donnor meat pizza tastes amazing. And very good value for money

Bought a large Kofte Kebab from here. It was very good and was big enough to feed two people. Friendly. Not cheap for a kebab but decent value given the size and how good it was... edit: kids ordered from there tonight a range of other things whilst I was out. They are teenagers. They didn't actually finish all the food. They didn't like it and they live on kebabs and pizzas and chicken burgers etc... so perhaps I just got lucky the first time I went. Apparently the chicken burger and pizza were almost inedible and the chicken shish was OK.

The food was drier than the skin of an eczema patient. You can bite into the paper covering the bland chicken wrap and you won't be able to tell the difference between that and the tortilla bread. Add sauce to your food ffs.

Donner meat smelt funny and not cooked properly, staff seemed to have an issue staring, bad experience and definitely not going there again

First few times food was lovely, now 3 bad takeout on the bounce Dry chips. Chicken didn’t feel cooked through and I was on the loo about an hour later with the trots

Sadly the food was tasteless, spicy pizza with no spice, the salad with the chicken kebab consisted of only Lettuce & Onion. Garlic sauce didn't taste of Garlic the chilli sauce was, well didn't taste of chilli sauce. The food just tasted cheap, pushed out and no effort at all, we ate it because it was hot and we were so hungry.

Had a burger and chips. Service was efficient and polite. I sat in and the place was warm and clean.

Seriously disappointed with this place, ordered a large donner kebab and chips and got meat and chips. When I queseied I got a piece of bread placed under the meat and charged an extra £1.80.

Hygienic, friendly and helpful. Good food at competitive prices. Calzone is rather special, fries too. Now, the fries are hot, cooked in clean fat, not soggy and luke warm stringy, chewy or tasteless. Marvellous finale for your evening!
