Stopping on rowntree Park site thought we would try here as within walking distance ordered 14in pizza ,chips and onion rings very welcoming staff and food was excellent will definitely use again when in the area

53 pound order ...not clear on ordering 1 pizza they charged and sent 2 with no drinks no salad no sauces when I rang to complain he said I will send driver tomorrow night with a bottle of pop and salad and sauces!!!! To do what with plz???otherwise foods spot on pizzas banging

Dropped in on the passing as I fancied a pizza and it was the 5* rating in the window that made me stop and go in. Staff were friendly, polite and the prices were very fair. Would come back on my next visit to York.

Terrible - tried to place an order on the phone and the guy couldn’t understand my postcode and kept repeating it back wrong then his friend called me back and started the same bloody carry on. Makes me wonder if this is actually a real pizza place or something else. Had to cancel in the end. Useless

Awful pizza. Used to order from here and the pizzas were fine. Pizza was full of dough bubble & burn (at least 2 slices worth) and the ‘deep’ base was like 5mm MDF (pictured), dry and brittle. Barely any tomato sauce and the pepperoni was just weird - never used to be like this! £12.50 for the worst takeaway pizza I’ve had - and I’ve had many…

Very bad costumer service. Food tasted horrible Very dirty and unprofessional. Don’t ever eat here. Honestly I came back to the review after a day because I want to share more of my experience. Not only was the food horrible, I felt sick and wouldn’t stop burping for hours. The next few days my tummy did not feel good at all. This shop should be closed down

Garbage. I asked for a done kebab on naan bread and lots of chilli sauce to take away. When I got home it had no chilli sauce it was on a tortilla with chips I didn't ask for. The worst I've ever had with people who do not listen. Avoid.

I've been using Ali 'G's for years. However this pizza shop seems to have gone down hill recently! Though when I went for a pizza to which I ordered for collection on route home which was supposed to be a spicy chicken 14" I couldn't see any chicken, and the spice they used was jalapeno's , no chilli's in sight what so ever. The tast was bland and the base was very thin .the worst pizza I have had ever, £13.30 it was over priced too, Wish I'd not bothered and had beans and toast instead. Nothing good lasts for ever

Never ever again. My daughter was sick after eating happy meal (chicken nuggets and fries). We had pizza and it tasted more like a pancake. Waiting long time for our order. They were telling every single customer that it will take a long time cos they are underpaid and understaffed. I think this is something they should talk about to their boss not to customers. Very bad experience. Better to avoid

While waiting for our order,was talking to the owner of this take away. Was told that they have just took over this business but kept the same name to avoid confusion for customers.They are new in the area but have an immense experience working and owning take away business in Whitby for over 20years.Their food is extremely nice,tasty and delicious,me and my wife tried it few times and were never disappointed.We had a delivery from them and also picked up food from shop.We highly recommend this take away.

Great drunk food. Sure we paid the drunk person menu prices too. Whaaaa? Didn't realise how much until looking at my bank the next day. Erm... I wouldn't have sober. But that's on me... Drunken hunger won haha.

Awful place, lots of random people walking in from outside & touching the food, helping themselves to chips ect, saw someone use tongs to pick up raw chicken from a tub then use the tongs to flip over food on the grill, pretty grotty place all in all

Never usually leave bad reviews. Ordered an hour and a half ago and still not received food. Poor level of customer service. Not what you would expect.

1 star and that’s only because no stars were not an option. Ordered food through food hub and what a joke this was. Over a hour late arrived cold and in correct. Husband ordered the mixed kebab for two and it was so small our 3 year old would have asked for more once finished (this cost like £15/£16). We phoned to find out what was going on to be laughed at told to get over it. When we further asked what they would do we were told we live out of York (we live clifton moor) and what did we expect. On further discussion we were told to F*#k off and hung up on. We were £25 down now to actually show for it and tbh massively dissatisfied. Spoke to the food hub people to be made out liars as the “restaurant “ if you could call this place that offered a free pizza the next time we order!on what planet would we use this scum of the earth place again!!!! Avoid people for your own sake!!!!

This was once a quite good take away. It's now awful. Food guaranteed late (that's a given). But now it's reduced its portion sizes to a pitifully small amount but with a huge price tag. Avoid at all costs.

Without doubt the rudest staff I’ve ever come across! No smiles,no hello,no please,no thank you- just a dirty scowling look when I walked in and tried to order as if I was inconveniencing them or something. Had to repeat everything at least 3 times because the unwashed,dirty looking server couldn’t understand me. I had to repeat the word ‘salt’ 5 times and ended up just pointing at a salt pot to get my message across!! In fairness the burger I ordered tasted pretty good- but was messy and sliding out of the burger every bite. I wouldn’t go back into this place if you paid me though- just a horrible unwelcoming,hostile atmosphere with the staff just staring at you like they want to fight you.

My son likes this place as our fortnightly treat , but I’ve seen a gradual decline in quality and presentation. Also worthy of note, I’ve been in a few times where the staff appear to be rude and ignorant, such as blatantly ignoring greetings by myself and other customers, i decided to find another pizza house as it was felt that our trade/ business wasn’t really appreciated, besides the fact the pizzas seemed to be just thrown together, rather not as good as when we first started going. It’s nothing to shout about, but there is I imagine worse in York. Cheers then

Ordered a Mixed Grill at £11.50, absolutely awful meat, all of it really hard and chewy, the very smallest pitta bread ever and not in a million years worth £11.50. If it was half the price I would still be disappointed. As another reviewer has reported I wouldn't feed the food to my dog. Shocking and I will not order from here again.

Wouldn’t waste your money, the quality of food has gone downhill so badly. Ordered a Bbq chicken pizza which had a literal slight drizzle of bbq sauce and a handful if not smaller of meat on it. I asked for bbq base was given tomato base. I also ordered a cheeseburger for my younger sister which was like a rustlers microwave burger and the chips where like eating cardboard and not at all hot. This place used to be amazing I don’t know what’s happened. And then to make matters worse their delivery driver arrived when I was stood outside waiting for my food and decided to make nasty comments on how my Staffordshire bull terrier (who was sitting down wearing a harness with a lead causing no harm) a dangerous dog making snarky comments continuing to stare and snicker until he finally drove off . I find this incredibly rude and will not be coming here again.

Absolutely disgusting, Dirty carton looked like it was taken out of the bin, hardly any meat and what was in there was just chunks of fat, items missing from the order. Phoned to complain and was met with a barrage of abuse Not fit for human consumption . Do not waste money like I did.

Order a mixed grill, it turned up in a carton that looked like it had been taken out of a bin, hardly any meat ,and what was there was chunks of lamb fat, 3 poxy pieces of chicken. extra sauce ordered was missing too. My friends and I all ordered shish kofte, donner pizza, chicken nuggets and it was one of the best takeaways I have been to! We were waiting nearly 2 hours for our delivery then they sent us a text said we are sorry your order will be delayed and you can apply for refund. Then the order arrived but all the food was cold and the chips and burgers were microwaved and turned to be rock hard and part of the order was missing entirely, so by that point we asked for a part refund and we get told we not gonna give you the refund and we hope you enjoy your food by text. You dont expect to spend almost £30 for microwaved burgers and chips. Really disappointing especially as we have been regular repeat customers for over a year. Dont know if its a change in management or what but definately going down hill.

Ordered food from Ali G’s in York and the food came it was as if they were rationing with the kebab had six pieces of meat in it and ordered a pizza they got the order completely wrong then when I called the restaurant the member of staff on the phone was extremely rude telling me that I’m wrong pretty much and that he wasn’t going to do anything about it when I asked for either something else to be sent or a refund, then he proceeded to ask for my personal phone number so he could sort it out over the mobile, all in all absolutely horrific service I wouldn’t recommend because if you don’t get your correct order you will be told that your wrong and that there’s nothing they can do about it

we are having a short stay in york for my wifes birthday and we always wanted to try a chicken parmesean. Ali G's was highly reccomended by friends who have visited before and i must say, they weren't wrong. friendly service by a young man that looked about as busy as a man can get. still had time to answer our questions since we never had a chicken parma before. quick service and the young man even gave us a free bottle of pepsi for having to wait only 3 mins longer than he said. The chicken Parma was soooooo nice, even though we cant compare it to any other, if thats the standard, we will have to find one in nottingham somewhere. Thanks again to the staff at Ali G's. Got a family deal from here tonight which would have been cheaper if I’d have bought it individually anyway. But the “14 inch” pizza arrives crushed to bits and it looks like someone’s carried it on their back and did backflips while waiting for me to answer the door. After calling the restaurant they offer to send another pizza only for the delivery driver to call me back five minutes later with a cocky attitude accusing me of shaking it up while walking up the stairs… I said no then accused me of being pissed when I said if they don’t bring me a fresh one I’ll march down and show it then myself. The food is great here and it’s usually good service but good god if you get this woman delivering your pizza I’d always check the box before opening.

I order at least ten times my uncle has recommended to me their koftas I was sceptical at first but after when I tried it I absolutely loved it. Feel like quite hooked. I literally ordered a delivery tonight it said 45min I recieved it within 30 min very friendly driver thanks guys. Will reccomend to friends and family

Estábamos planeando salir a cenar a un restaurante esta noche, pero nos encontramos demasiado empapados y cansados para querer ir y sentarnos como es debido. Pedimos Ali Gs en nuestro hotel, cruzamos el puente y, cuando llegamos, ya estaba listo. Nuestras pizzas eran las más sabrosas que hemos probado en mucho tiempo (comí una Ali G In the Garden y mi socio comió una pizza de Kiev), las papas fritas eran perfectas y tenía una relación calidad-precio increíble. Se lo recomendaríamos a cualquiera en York, visitante o local.

Estuve tentado a alejarme allí mismo.De todos modos, finalmente fui con una hamburguesa doble con queso sin el personal. Mi amigo había pedido previamente una hamburguesa con queso y, como yo le pedí una doble, quiso cambiar su pedido de una simple a una doble. A lo que el hombre respondió "entonces tendrás que pagar por una hamburguesa completamente nueva". Lo que creo que es un poco ridículo, ya que es solo otro trozo de carne, no estaba pidiendo el pan y la ensalada. Traté de argumentar mi punto pero él no escuchó y siguió diciendo "bueno, voy a tener que ponerme otra hamburguesa".En este punto, pensé que mis problemas habían terminado. Terrible food and overpriced. Meat feast calzone had hardly any meat in it. Avoid. £10 for a mixed kebab which comes with about 6 pieces of meat in it.

Ordered on JustEat and was told an hour for delivery. Fair enough. It's new years day and busy I'd expect it. When the food arrived it was just luke warm and wasn't the type of food we could re heat. When paying the same money is expect the same service as we have had before.

Compró 2 pizzas, fue sobrecargado y corto cambiado. Cuando se le preguntó, el propietario me devolvió todo mi dinero a la cara y dijo que no me serviría. Usó lenguaje abusivo y amenazante. Maldijo y gritó cuando estaba completamente equivocado. Mi hijo de 8 años estaba muy molesto. Él era un disgusto.

Enojado por decir lo menos. Somos clientes habituales de esta comida para llevar y nunca he tenido una mala comida, así que esta noche decidí pedir a las 10:55. Tres de nosotros pedimos pizza en línea. Se escribió 45 minutos para entregar en uno de los edificios (conocido) en la universidad de York. Tuvimos una muy buena relación con estos chicos, rápidamente entregados por un conductor amable, pero lo más importante es que la comida era fantástica. Pizza generosamente coronada, patatas fritas crujientes y genuinamente la mejor hamburguesa de chile que he tenido. Es muy raro tener una entrega rápida donde todos los elementos son perfectos, pero eso es lo que Ali G's logró, nuestra nueva primera opción.

We stayed close by in St George's Keep and used the takeaway once, we just walked across the road. Lots of special offers available and the food was lovely.

Hace más de 2 años que compramos Ali Gs y tuvimos que pasar por aquí para dejar un comentario sobre lo fabulosos que son. Todo siempre llega caliente y entregado por un personal amable y cortés. La comida es genial, especialmente la pizza de pollo kiev. ¡Recomendaría! !

Estábamos parando en el Hilton y nos apetecía una pizza, esta era la más cercana a nosotros ya que estaba lloviendo. No esperábamos mucho, pero nos recibieron con una gran sonrisa de la señora que tomó nuestros pedidos. Pedimos pan de ajo con queso era una gran cantidad de ajo y queso uno de los mejores platos que hemos tenido. Esta joya estaba muy ocupada con los conductores entrando y saliendo, solo muestra su popularidad. Volvería y lo recomendaría.

Se sirve acompañado de ensalada, fuego y pan de pita. Estaba lloviendo a cántaros, así que llevamos kebab a nuestro hotel, marriott. Kebab todavía estaba caliente y delicioso en nuestra habitación. Ingredientes frescos de calidad. Fue un poco caro - 6. 50 por una dona kebab estándar, pero eso es precios de york para ti! Takr también sirve pizzas y hamburguesas.

Having arrived in York late, checked into the hotel, we were on the hunt for something quick and easy. We stopped off here and ordered kebabs. Service was fine, we sat inside the takeaway and waited for the food. It was freshly cooked so took about 10-15 minutes. By the time we walked back, the food was a little dry and soggy (but thats our fault not theirs!). The chicken tasted very unseasoned which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, it was fine for a quick bite!

Nos alojamos en un apartamento en Nueva York durante una semana y un par de noches después de estar fuera todo el día pedimos desde aquí en lugar de salir. Era muy fácil de ordenar en línea y pagar con tarjeta o en efectivo en la entrega. Tomamos una pizza y un kebab de 1 noche de la calle, que era servida rápidamente y el conductor era muy agradable, después pedimos un gran kebab y pan de ajo otra noche que también era muy bueno. Sin duda recomendaría este para llevar y volvería de nuevo.
